Realistic or Modern ➳ ASCENDANCY | hindeston academy

“Sir, there have been reports, so to speak, of movement in the underworld.” The woman spoke slowly, measuring her words. “The spirits are afraid, sir.”

“What are they saying?”

“He’s not dead.”

“Impossible, I killed him myself.”

“Sir, they’ve seen him. He’s not dead. Do we alert the camps?”

“No. We don’t alert anyone. Not even the ascendants. They’re not ready for something like this.”

“Then what do we do?”

“We beg for all the power of our parents and we gather the other legends and we fight this war ourselves.”

It had been almost a month since the headmaster and the staff had disappeared from the school. They left the ascendants and a couple of instructors in charge, but honestly that was more than likely a mistake.

class="tabsContent tabsContent1"][div class=container][div class=textbox]Trees were blocking half the view out of Kyu-won's dorm room, but he could tell the sun was hanging low by the color of the sky. The clouds mimicked the soft, airy swirls of cotton candy with tones ranging from orange to pink. Purple was beginning to emerge on the uppermost zenith, blending into the warm strawberry like a watercolor painting. It was an overall beautiful sight and one of the reasons the male actually liked about Hindeston Academy.

Staring out passed the rustling branches, Kyu-won could make out the faint silhouettes of birds migrating further north. It was hard to tell whether they were real or not, considering where exactly he was. The barrier around the institute prevented anyone or anything foreign from entering, but every now and then wild animals managed to get in. Why they could was beyond his knowledge. He only knew outsiders could never make it passed the enchantment, especially since the location probably looked like wilderness to everyone else outside Hindeston.

Kyu-won let out a deep yawn, ungloved hand covering his mouth. His eyes became watery for a split second so he simply blinked a few times to get rid of the tiredness. It was common knowledge around the institute that the male was often tired and constantly napped. Many new faces tended to be curious about the guy who slept in the same window seat in the library or outside on the warm grass. At the same time, however, they were also warned to stay away from him during those times since naps were his only way to rest.

What made things even more interesting was that he was an ascendant. That often baffled others aiming for top ten and Kyu-won tended to receive bad gazes due to his position. Those people really didn’t understand him, however. Along with an exceptional photographic memory and being a quick learner, he was skilled in hand-to-hand combat and wielding blades. He was also a master of going undetected.

People often asked why someone with mediocre powers made it so high, but they’d honestly never seen him at his full potential and few people have actually seen him use his powers on offense, like form weapons and bolts out of photons. A better question was what reason was there to rely on pure power when you didn't need to? Kyu-won certainly didn't see the point.

A light knock brought Kyu-won out of his daze, head turning slowly towards his dorm's door. As he turned, he caught a whiff of the sweet, earthy incense he had set to burn a few minutes ago. It tickled his nose--pleasantly and annoyingly--and he almost sneezed, but he managed to sneak in a "Yeah?" before actually letting one out.

"Oh, hey." The male said as he stood up, body moving as elegantly as a gentle wave. He walked over, strides smooth as if he were gliding across the floor, and peered down at the shorter person. "Are you ready?" He asked, eyes still somewhat tired and dewy. [/div][/div][/div][div

anastasia smoothed down her curled hair and slid on the finishing touch of her costume, a glittering tiara, then stepped back to critically examine her reflection in the mirror. she was sporting what had been marketed as a 'sexy glinda costume'. annie did not feel sexy. in fact, she looked exactly like what she was: a girl who was pretending to feel sexy to feel powerful, but who actually wished she'd just bought a regular costume. anyway, what made white stockings so sexy? white stockings were a staple of her wardrobe! still, if, for just one night, she could be a girl who turned heads (and one head in particular), it'd be worth it. and maybe, she did look sexy after all.
just as quickly as annie had come to this decision, she backtracked the moment she turned around and saw her sister slicking on red lipstick in the other mirror. her spirits sunk even lower as angelica whirled around to face her, beaming in that bright, air headed way that suited angel but not the costume.
"what do you think?"
"you don't look like yourself, angel. not at all." annie replied doubtfully, as she looked the girl up and down. god, she didn't look like the angel annie pictured when somebody said the name, but there was no denying it-- she looked amazing. admittedly, the costume had perhaps been sized for a person with a slightly smaller chest and probably a smaller backside too, but somehow, that fact made it work even more in angelica's favour.
"isn't it wonderful? it couldn't be more wonderful." with that statement, angel smiled again and set about fastening her stilettos. by some miracle, she seemed perfectly at ease in her daring attire, something that annie was attributing to whatever she'd poured into her lemonade while doing her makeup when she thought her sister hadn't been looking. annie had seen, though. really, after nineteen years together she'd have expected angel to know that she noticed anything, although in angel's defense, the girl was notoriously dimwitted. a regular bimbo, as their father had so often reminded them both. it wasn't angel's fault that she had bright eyes, a winning smile, and legs that went all the way up, but their father had always deemed it a punishable offence.
and, by the same token, anastasia had been labelled 'fortunately plain'.
that wasn't true, or so she'd been assured, and yet still as annie watched her sister busying herself with the straps of her heels, she couldn't help but feel a little glimmer of jealousy. if what their father had said was true, all the glitter in the world couldn't make annie as striking as angel.
with a shake of her head, annie brushed those negative thoughts away and plastered a smile back onto her face. halloween was one of her most favourite holidays, and halloween parties were, in her opinion, the best parties of all: there was something so magical about fancy dress, and the child in her found the treat-sized candy bars she associated with trick or treating so much more satisfying than the regular sort. yes! it'd be a great night: she'd wear her lovely costume, and dance with her lovely friends, and maybe she'd see that one lovely person, too. but that wasn't too important, surely.
almost as if the thought had summoned something, there was a knock at the door.
"oh, could you be a darling and get that? i've just got to put my little collar thingy on."
"sure, angie," annie replied with a mirrored smile, teetering over to the door of their room. the room itself was a bit of a state, covered in pairs of tights that angel had despairingly discarded when discovering ladders in them and countless makeup containers, but annie figured that if she stood in the doorway she could conceal most of the chaos. of course, when she pulled the door open and locked eyes with their visitor, all thoughts of the room went out of the window. "oh. oh, that's... unexpected." for a moment annie felt exactly like a deer caught in headlights and then, as colour rushed to her cheeks, she quickly set about correcting her behaviour. "sorry, i just wasn't expecting you, i was going to wait until the party to find you... i like your costume, but... are you, let me guess.... a tired rich man?" with a giddy little laugh, she reached up and tapped noah on the head with her wand. "okay, now it's your turn, guess what i am. you can have a hint if you really need to, but you're so clever, i doubt you'll--"
"is that noah?" angel's voice cut through and shattered annie's excited rambling. suddenly she was at her sister's side and annie, confused, was nudged slightly to one side. "hi! oh, you look perfect. i knew you'd be the greatest costume partner."

[div class=box][div class=boxscroll1][div class=boxscroll2]Lovewell was never particularly interested in the trick or treating part of Halloween. She was far more interested in the trickery. What else was new? She loved causing mischief. Scaring folks. Picking fights and never getting in trouble for it.

Seemed fitting that her costume was a devil. Not that the real devils looked like that. She had always assumed Hades was hot. She had to laugh at the thought of her parents sing her now. They would write her out of the will, for sure.

Homesickness was not something she felt. Not when she first left, not when she found out her lineage, not when she got to the school. There was something about being free that made her forget all about her life before. Sixteen and wild, she found a certain belonging at Hindeston. Something she'd never felt before.

She also found Davion. The power couple of the ascendants. They were as feared as they were envied. She smiled at the thought, painting her lips red and fluffing her hair in the mirror. He was a whole ass mans, and she had snatched him.

Maybe there was some good in her after all.

The girl's fingers slid across her phone's keyboard easily. "hurry up, angel, i want a piggy back ride to the party."

JULIET KOKINOS

Red hair spilled down over her shoulders and petite back, the pure white blossoms of baby's breath woven throughout her hair. The green eyes of the girl were narrowed slightly as she tried to think of what to do next. She was unsure about her appearance as she didn't usually try and dress up for Halloween, but this time she had to or else her friends would guilt her about it for a long time. Her looks had changed drastically compared to usual. Her freckles that were normally hidden by a thin layer of makeup, were displayed on her face and only fading slightly where the soft rose blush was applied to her cheeks and nose. Small flakes of gold stars were dusted on top of her freckles, giving her a shimmering appearance. Honestly speaking, Juliet didn't know what she was even doing. She had refused to have someone else help her get ready and she was regretting it a lot.

She stood up and searched in her closet for a few minutes, eventually pulling out a pair of brown sandals as they were the only things that she could wear without looking like a dork. In her opinion at least. She struggled for a bit when getting them on, but in the end, she was wearing them and her outfit was complete. It felt a little weird for her to be wearing such a fancy dress, but she figured that getting dressed up once a year wasn't that bad. It was a floor length gown which had long sleeves and a rather romantic appearance overall. There was a slight train in the back which she constantly had to remind herself to watch out for, and the back of the dress dipped down, exposing any skin that wasn't covered by her hair. The color of the dress itself was a faded blue, borderline grey, which only brought our her fire colored hair and forest green eyes.

Juliet cleaned up her mess before she headed towards the door, knowing that the student she was meeting with was probably asleep. She fixed the silver circlet on her head, not wanting to have it be crooked or something like that. Her confidence wasn't that high as she walked down the hallway, especially when she heard the laughter of a few students. She tripped slightly on the dress, which resulted in a small yelp escaping her lips. Juliet's face flushed a bit from embarrassment, and for the rest of the way she held her dress skirt in her hand. She got used to the feeling though, and upon arriving at the familiar room, she stood outside of it for a little bit. Her thoughts drifted to the days of when she first arrived at the institute. It was overwhelming and she felt utterly out of place. Everyone was so powerful and respected, yet she felt like the runt of the class.

Still, she had grown a lot since she first joined, which was refreshing to think about. She had to thank a few people for that as they really helped push her to achieve her best. She wasn't the most intimidating of students because of her small size and appearance, but she learned to use it to her advantage. Clearing her throat, Juliet knocked on the door before she opened it, green eyes looking around the room before she spotted Q. A smile appeared on her face when he sneezed, the sound and expression he sported totally reminded her of a cat. "Hey yourself" Juliet fixed a strand of her hair before she nodded her head and looked around the room. He was so lucky that he had the whole place to himself, which was why she would help herself to sleep in after studying sessions. "Yeah, I'm ready. Just don't rush me because I don't really have the hang of walking in a long dress. I just feel awkward in this getup"

She sighed heavily as she turned around to open the door again and stepped out into the hallway. "I found a new book, by the way, it's really interesting. I'm almost finished with it so you should read it whenever you have time" She gathered the skirt of her dress and held it in her hand, trying hard to walk somewhat elegantly. She lacked a lot of the grace and elegance that most girls seemed to naturally have, but it was lost on her. While walking down the hall, she realized that her costume was considerably different compared to the other ones. She felt a bit overdressed and was having a bit of an internal crisis as they walked somewhat instep. She struggled to keep up with his long strides due to her dress. Juliet felt really nervous because she didn't exactly have a date to the party and she was pretty sure Q would be easy snatched by some other person, which meant the red-head would probably have to seek out Cleo and see if she could wander around with her for a bit.

Autumn had always been the best season. It wasn’t too hot for training or too cold to be working with water. The brightly coloured leaves and orange skies really livened up the school. Oh, and the seasonal foods were amazingly comforting. Not to mention the Halloween party which was the biggest event of the Fall. Ever since Belle started attending Hindeston academy she had loved decorating the school for Halloween. It had always been her favourite holiday. Belle could still vividly remember running around the neighbourhood trying to find the best candy. The parents always competed to see who’s kid would have the best costume. Because of this, there was never a brought costume in sight. She was forbidden from buying overpriced costumes but as she grew and wanted them to look sexier she had to start making them herself. Back when she didn’t have to worry about anything.

Belle might have been a bit too excited to get into her costume. She definitely should have waited until after she had finished decorating. The braids and loose hair that framed her face kept getting in her eyes as she tried to do things. Her wig was also making her head quite hot and itchy. Although it was definitely worth it as she looked amazing in her elaborate costume. The gown hugged all the right places and even though she was showing quite a bit of skin she managed to make it look more elegant than slutty. Sure maybe the majority of the students wouldn’t get who she was dressed but it didn’t matter to her, she was happy.

Belle finished pinning up her last spiderweb before stepped back to admire the decorations. Even though they had fewer volunteers than last year they still managed to do an amazing job. They had completely transformed the gym into a magical Halloween wonderland. The fog machine was humming as it covered the floor in a layer of fog just to add to the creepy atmosphere. She always tried to hide the extremely tacky decorations but it never seemed to work. Even with the tacky tombstones decorated with large letters spelling out ‘R.I.P’. As if anyone actually wrote that on tombstones.

There were still a few more things to get done seeing as some of the other volunteers were behind. Mainly because a certain Instructor kept getting other people to do his part while he ate the food that was meant to be for the party. She had to admit she struggled to hold back some giggles as Niran picked on poor Wimpy Timmy. Honestly, the boy needed to grow a backbone and stop letting himself be pushed around. Him getting picked on would hopefully help, well at least that was her opinion.

The female made her way across the room, her hips swaying slightly as she walked. Once she reached the table she filled up the liquorice bowl again and gave Niran a pointed look. “If you’re gonna laze around and let us do all the work you could at least not eat all the food,” she said as she folding her arms across her chest.

[div class=tab1]Niran
[div class=tab2]Junhavat[/div]

[div

class="tabsContent tabsContent1"][div class=container][div class=textbox]"Uh, yeah. Can you move that over there?" Niran asked, his mouth working on the same string of licorice for the last fifteen minutes. For some reason, the 25 year old instructor volunteered to help decorate the place for the Halloween party. He'd asked why the headmaster didn't just use some wanky magic to get everything set up in an instant, but the answer was always the same. 'We need some normalcy', the head would say each year, minus this one of course since he'd been missing for a few weeks now, along with some other friends of Niran's.

What the hell was going on anyways?

Sighing, the Thai man watched as Timmy the Toddler moved the decorative web tree across the room. Timmy, unfortunately, was blessed with bad luck and was entirely too clumsy for his own good (hence the nickname). Niran often found himself being toughest on the poor guy, even when he didn't really deserve it. It was how he showed affection towards the students though since someone had to play bad cop around the academy, especially with the rising tensions. "Yeah, never mind. You can move that back. Thanks, Tim." Niran said with the wave of his hand, still chewing on candy.

He let out a loud yawn as his legs stretched out on a chair. Lazily scanning the room, he noted how some people were already dressed in their costumes like him. Of course, his looked relatively plain since he was only wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and some black jeans. The lack of pizazz was due to the fact that the actual costume part was laying on the floor next to him. It was a simple silver bag with a metallic sheen, carved to look like that of a toaster. People basically pressed down on the button and a slip of paper with some kind of roasting quote would pop out.

A fitting costume if someone were to ask him.

Another yawn escaped his naturally mauve-tinted lips as he continued to look around. The gym was more or less decorated with realistic spider waves dangling down the walls as if they'd been there for ever. The lights flickered on and off a few times in order to test the colored orbs they'd put in place, inviting a sense of eeriness that tickled Niran's stomach. If not for the fact that he was a demigod, he would've said the place was kind of scary--if the fake graves were ignored, that is.

“If you’re gonna laze around and let us do all the work you could at least not eat all the food,” came a familiar, feminine voice.

Niran looked up from his seat, mouth wrapped around a fresh piece of licorice. He pulled the candy away with a loud snap and masticated on it almost mockingly. The right side of is face lifted slightly as he raised his eyebrow, feigning innocence at the accusation. "I've done no such thing."

Within a one swift movement, Niran was standing and facing the young woman. He copied her stance and crossed his own arms around his chest, the corners of his lip curling upwards into an almost taunting smirk. His eyes scanned Belle from head to toe, and he tilted his head in recognition. "Never saw you as a gamer. The more you know." He said, enunciating the last part of his sentence carefully.

"How are your other classes going?" The male placed his hands on the candy table and leaned back against it, one knee bent slightly to keep from falling. People tended to assume Niran wasn't the type to get involved in the well-being of his students, especially the newer and inexperienced ones. That was far from the truth, however. While he came off as crude in class, he was much more approachable and understanding outside of it. The tough regime and treatment was really just to whip them all into shape and show them not everyone will be nice. Some of the more insightful students could see that. Others? Not so much.

"Are they going as bad as mine?" He joked, knowing full well that Belle was one of the top students at the academy.[/div][/div][/div][div

[div

class="tabsContent tabsContent1"][div class=container][div class=textbox]He was still looking down at Juliet, even though he wasn't that much taller than her. Tilting his head slightly, his light blue hair followed the momentum and swished to the right. The male's eyes scanned his best friends attire with a small sense of appreciation, a smirk playing at his lips as if he had something witty to say. Instead, however, he simply nodded in approval. Juliet was pretty in everything she wore, even though he was well aware of her lack in confidence.

"You look great," he stated, stuffing a lollipop into his mouth while a hand slipped into his pocket. There was a faint pulsating warmth in his chest that he waved off as he assessed his own attire. Unlike Juliet's fantasy elegance, he chose a more traditional "spooky" costume. His black fedora fit a bit too tightly and he had a pair of sunglasses hanging from his collar for later. Q's outfit overall was rather simple and no one would really know who he was until he used his abilities, which was the overall point since he was supposed to be the Invisible Man.

A quiet laugh escaped his lips as he listened to Juliet speak. "When do I ever rush? You just have short legs." He followed after her, propping the door open himself until Juliet was completely out.

"I found a new book, by the way, it's really interesting. I'm almost finished with it so you should read it whenever you have time"

"Oh? That's perfect timing. I was debating on rereading Agatha Christie's series if I couldn't find anything soon." Q stated, noticing Juliet lagging behind him. Pausing, he knelt down as if he were going to tie his shoe laces but remembered he didn't have any. Playing it cool, however, he folded his pant legs to his ankles and stood when the female was finally by his side.

This time, instead of walking ahead aimlessly, he minded his own steps. The unconscious part of him even placed a hand gently on the curve of Juliet's lower back, as if to lead her and prevent her from falling. Q also noticed a few eyes staring at the pair, though he was certain the eyes were mostly ogling the elf. Something must've been on his face though because they quickly averted their attention when he looked their way. That was something that happened a lot in all honesty.

People, he sighed internally as the pair finally made it outside. [/div][/div][/div][div

trigger warning: near death, drowning

tumblr_pfxna75Z2J1xrsyx1o3_250.png
Lihwa! Lihwa! Come and play with us!

Young voices echoed around her, mocking and pointing. Everywhere she turned, darkened faces, mischievous smirks, and laughter greeted her. Her hand covered her ears as she ran, not sure where to turn or where to go.

Let's play hide and seek! You’re it!

The other children ran and hid from her as she frantically looked for her friends, or were they? The looming trees in the forest seemed to grow bigger with each step she took but with every ounce of energy she had in her tiny frame, she trudged forward. They were finally playing with her! She wouldn’t let their effort go to waste or make them believe she wasn’t good enough. She was!

As she mustered the courage to search through the forest, her breathing heavied as she found herself getting lost. Weary, she called out to her so-called friends. But no answer in return. The only shimmering light she could see was the reflection of the lake under the moonlight. Playing at night was a test of courage and she wanted to show the others she wasn’t afraid! No monsters could harm her!

But, as she looked closely into the water, mesmerised by her reflection in the lake, her body unconsciously moved inches into the lake. It took only a second as she felt a gentle nudge tip over. A sound of a loud splash could be heard in the silence of the night.

Help! Mama!

The young girl couldn’t swim, she didn’t know how! She kicked and kicked until her legs gave out. The coldness of the water embraced her frame as she tried to make the loudest sounds she could utter only to be greeted back with nothing. Her heart raced as she shook her head, trying not to swallow the water that quickly asphyxiated her. And with a plop, her body sunk.
crjMp8I.png
With a sudden jolt, Lihwa lifted up her head quickly as sweat beaded down the side of her face and her heart raced against her chest. That nightmare . . . again. She felt thirsty as her throat and lips felt dry. Absentmindedly looking around for a cup of water, the young woman sluggishly stood up from her chair, half awake, half asleep. Once the cold mug touched her lips and the liquid managed to wake her up from her daze, Lihwa bit her lips, choking back a sob as she nearly dropped her mug.

When will these nightmares end?

Many thoughts crossed her mind as she shook her head, not wanting to focus on anything but the event happening tonight. It took all the her strength in her to not break down and she wasn’t about to - not when others needed her the most. It had been a month since the staff and their Headmaster had vanished. Something inside of her twisted as she couldn’t help but wonder exactly what happened. Warning bells triggered in her head but she couldn’t help but brush it aside, wanting to maintain some normalcy or rather believe it wasn’t what it seemed. But, when was her life ever normal?

Regardless, instead of brooding, she took all her energy and poured it into her training, classes, and even others around her. It kept her busy and it was the one way she avoided her feelings or even thought about consequences. At the same time, she didn't want him hearing her thoughts. . . . but she just knew, regardless of the amount of times she tried to hide her memories or even thoughts from him, he always saw right through her. It was daunting, invasive, yet. . . comforting all the same. She hated to admit it, but he held a soft spot in her heart - a guide, a supporter, but also a friend. She could only imagine or hope he thought the same, maybe even felt.

Sighing to herself, Lihwa placed her mug back on her desk, stretching as her eyes read the clock on the night stand. Time to get ready for the night.

As she delicately placed the last hair ornament in her hair, Lihwa stared at the reflection of herself. Looking into the mirror, her head tilted to the side slightly in wonder. Did she look like her mother? Or her . . . father? Practicing her smiles as she patted her cheeks, Lihwa loosened her muscles, readying herself for the party tonight. It must go off without a hitch!

But, before she headed out of her room, her hand gently brushed passed the pendant her mother gave her. A small smile made way to her lips as she touched the next jewel on the chain - a charm in a shape of a pearl she received as a gift from Niran. Fond memories flashed through her head as she remembered the moment she received news she was one of the ascendants of the academy. She worked hard and Lihwa couldn't have been happier knowing she had a few friends along side her.

Without further ado, Lihwa took one last glance of her dorm before making way to the event. Her light pink and white laced hanfu glided across the ground as she moved. Although she knew about Halloween and its festivities, Lihwa couldn't help but want to dress in her traditional cultural attire to greet and honor the souls that departed.

As soon as Lihwa finally got to her destination, her eyes widened in excitement as she noticed the lovely decorations hanging from one area to the next. Lihwa couldn't help but wave softly towards the other students who volunteered to help decorate. However, as she scanned the surroundings, Lihwa wondered where Belle could have ran off to. She had missed talking to her since the past few days she had been being busy with training and classes. Lihwa hoped to see her friend.

Moving around the premises, array of red strings on pinkies from one person to the next came in view of her vision. A light smile displayed on her lips as she couldn't help but giggle at the thought of playing match-maker on halloween night, it was a party after all, right? However, before she could mischievously put two and two together, Lihwa gasped softly, seeing the two she had been looking for: Belle and Niran. Making her way towards them, Lihwa noticed Timmy running around anxiously and couldn't help but reach out towards him.

"Timmy? Have you been working all this time? Why don't you catch a break and I'll finish these up for you?" Lihwa nodded in reassurance as Timmy hesitantly looked towards his instructor.

Clicking her tongue, Lihwa placed a hand on her hips, "Don't you worry about him. I got it."

Without further ado, Lihwa laughed, shaking her head at his hesitance before heading off. But, at that thought, Lihwa finally approached Belle and Niran hoping she hadn't been intruding.

Exclaiming excitedly, Lihwa grinned, "Looking absolutely stunning, Belle!" She winked at her friend before turning to look towards Niran, furrowing her brows. "My, my, should I be surprised by your outfit. . . N i r a n?" She questioned, pronouncing his name letter by letter teasingly.

Belle found herself looking up slightly at Niran as stood up, even though he wasn’t that much taller than she was. She did like it better when he was sitting down there was something about looking up at him that made her feel a little intimidated. It also triggered a kind of weird feeling in her stomach that she wasn’t too fond of either. The way he mimicked her stance with a stupid little smirk on his lips made narrow her eyes slightly. Was he mocking her? Who was she kidding of course he was.

"Never saw you as a gamer. The more you know."

“Surprising the things you learn when you actually pay attention. We have most definitely had this conversation before” she told him, the corners of her eyes crinkling slightly as she smiled. As per usual he was teasing her in an attempt to get her wound up. They often went back and forward teasing each other. Belle had learned in her second year not to take the male seriously.

"How are your other classes going? Are they going as bad as mine?"

Without missing a beat Belle hit his arm with a piece of red licorice she had just picked up. She might have been a slight hypocrite as she had also been picking at the candy bowls throughout the day. “Shut up you know I’m one of the best in your class. Ehh, Cas’s class keeps giving me a headache. Every time he says something there is a chorus of either squeals or giggles.” she pinched the bridge or her nose as if the memory gave her a headache.

"Looking absolutely stunning, Belle!"A familiar feminine voice caused Belle to spin around so she was no longer facing Niran.

“Wow, Lihwa you are absolutely breathtaking” Belle beamed, giving her friend a quick side hug as she approached. If it had been anyone else she probably would have been annoyed to have her conversation interrupted. But she had to admit that she definitely had a soft spot for the female. As she scanned the room she noticed that spineless Timmy had snuck off somewhere. Knowing Lihwa she probably released him of his duties when they weren’t paying attention.

"My, my, should I be surprised by your outfit. . . N i r a n?"

“I mean it is a typical Niran costume. Badly put together and basic” Belle said with a teasing smirk. She wrapped her mouth around her piece of licorice. She then pulled the candy away so it let out a loud snap, chewing on it mockingly as he had done to her earlier.
