personality

Sam is a calm and steady man. His motto is 'Hakuna Matata', and he's a master at living it.
He is understanding, a good listener and would do everything for his family, no matter what.
He however tends to underestimate the seriousness of dangerous situations because the horrors of his past in the HACK labs have made him used to far worse.
that time also left him very distrustful towards to people he doesnt know or cant see through.
he also keeps worrying that Jeffreys had abandoned him for a good reason and that everything he had told him in the lab wouod be true in the end- that he just isnt good enough to be alive, that he would never be loved by anyone and that he would be useless for everyone around him.
apart from thst however, he is a good man, grounded despite his special heritage, and a protector, friend, sidekick and agony aunt for his family, which he lovingly calls his little piece of heaven.

History

Sam was born with Trisomia 21.
His biological mother died shortly after his birth, and his father, one of the heads of HACK) put him up for adoption because he 'wasn't good enough', having a disability.
He soon was adopted by Oliver and Mag Gene, and a few years later, his siblings Rachel and James were born.
They moved a lot during his childhood, from Germany to Japan, to Poland, to Italy, and lastly to America.
A few weeks after his 15th birthday, Sam was kidnapped by soldiers of hack, and held in a cage in one of their labs for about 13 years, where they used him for several experiments, such as (successfully!) healing his disability.
When they had no use for him anymore, they got rid of him in the next desert, but Sam survived and lay in the hospital, comatose, for about a year.
Scared of the would he didn't know, and broken by the pain of having lost both his parents to the HACK-anom war, he hid in an apartment in Duisburg, Germany, for a few months, until Rachel found him and took him with her to Montana.
He lived in her family's house for a few months then, before he bought his own house, and met Emma Anderson a few weeks later, when he saved her from a few robbers who attacked her.
They fell in love instantly, and after about one and a half years of relationship, Sam proposed to Emma; his wife.
