his parents moved to england far before he was born. they were both born in the small town of Dunhuang, china. their parents, who were proud wizards, set them to hogwarts where they believed they would receive the best education. his father was a slytherin, unsurprisingly as the majority of his family turned out to be such, and his mother the first ravenclaw in the history of her lineage. while his father was both captain and seeker of the slytherin quidditch team, his mother excelled in all of her studies. after they graduated and got married (on the same day bc they're extra), they decided to stay in england where they'd spent most of their life. leander was born three years later. 

he was sickly as a child and his small size didn't help. he spent most of his younger years struggling against illness. as a consequence of that, he didn't attend public muggle school before he could go to hogwarts and was instead taught by his mother. she was an excellent teacher, though often tried to push her son to points that he just couldn't reach. his father tried to get him into the idea of quidditch, making him watch the world cup and teaching him everything he needed to know. leander wasn't interested, however, and his father soon gave up.


it was clear that the boy wouldn't be a slytherin due to his lack of ambition and passive ways; he lacked the typical qualities that ravenclaws possessed as well, and wasn't excited about learning, nor did he work hard on the work his mother assigned. gryffindor was out of the picture seen as how the boy was incredibly nervous and lacked the confidence that the red house prided themselves on. when the sorting hat proclaimed that he was a hufflepuff, nobody was surprised. were his parents a little disappoint that he didn't share either of their houses? yes, but they supported him all the same and never vocalized how they felt. despite his initial disinterest in quidditch, he did end up joining the hufflepuff team.


he enjoys hogwarts, though the atmosphere as of late has made him uncomfortable. he has no problem with muggle-borns and sticks up for them as best as he can, but he's a bit of a push-over and would rather be walked all over than have to deal with confrontation.
