Classes carried out as per usual despite the 'rough' start to the school year.

To no one's surprise, Keith had gotten detention on the first day; not because he had snuck out of campus, urging five to seven of his friends along nor the fact that he had came back in the wee AMs drunk and smelling of alcohol, but because he had overslept, missing out on the first two classes. By the time he was up, it was already lunchtime and the boy decided to sleep away the break for food--and unintentionally all his afternoon classes as well.

Detention was hell for someone as restless as Keith was. Having to sit still in a room with whatever pitiable teacher in charge with nothing but his books and homework was more boring than having to sit through Professor Binns' lectures. At least in his history classes, he could still get away with napping in the room. In detention, being one of the few students in, hiding his face behind an open book was much more conspicuous.

It had been three weeks since, almost a month since the whole Hogsmeade getaway. The following days were a perfect disaster. Keith made it his personal agenda to attack Sebastian at any given opportunity (he was hoping he could just ignore the male for the new term but his stung pride prevented him from doing so) and a handful of his friends were there to help. Unfortunately for him, his partner-in-crime, the bubblehead babe, had sat out. To Keith's great surprise, she decided to turn over a new leaf and take the new term seriously. He wasn't sure what caused the 180 change but regardless, he supported her decisions.

Her absence did little to stop his onslaught of mischievous pranks pulled on the Slytherin brunet. This time, he took care not to drag the other two in the Silver Trio in. The last time they had a prank war, the Headmistress threatened to have them locked out of their dorms.

Like most things, the hostility died down and life carried on as per usual. Usual meant stale and it wasn't long until the Gryffindor was poking his nose around in things he really shouldn't be; and in his defense, he simply acknowledged that he couldn't survive without the risk.

Keith was exactly that child who immediately touches something right after he's told not to; so when the announcement regarding The Forbidden Forest was made, entering the said forest was the first thing on his to-do list. Before the notice, there had been strange scorch marks marring the trees and forest floors, accompanied by deep gashes made most likely by long claws. When a fifth of the forest was burnt down in a night, the school covered it up, claiming that a student had alighted the place with an accidental fire charm. It didn't take a genius to figure that something was off but like most students in his grade, they were too busy preparing for their N.E.W.T.S.

Others believed it to be a blast-ended skrewt -- the same one Hagrid had bred and set free into the forest years ago. The theory was that instead dying out, the skrewt managed to not only survive in the Forest but also breed. It wasn't anything of real interest but that was the story told among the sixth years. Keith, however, knew otherwise: It wasn't a horde of skrewts. It was a dragon.

And what better way to prove it than by seeing it himself?

Sadly, he wouldn't be able to do it himself (one could bet their ass that Anderson was going to drag people breaking more rules with him). Stepping out of campus would require the help of a prefect and he knew just the prefect to go to.

Sixth Year | Phyrun Dalca | Ravenclaw
Location: Library

To say that the year had started out smoothly would have been a joke. That first day would have been fine if it hadn't started as it did. Professor Flitwick pulled him aside as he was leaving the Great Hall after breakfast and informed him that their Sixth Year male prefect was unable to handle the responsibilities. Phyrun wasn't so sure how accurate that was and figured it was a cover. After all, the student that had been prefect had been at dinner last night, but hadn't shown up for breakfast so something had happened. Phyrun had tried to inform Flitwick that he was not the best choice for a replacement but apparently the little professor wasn't going to hear any of it and Phyrun was sent to his first class with a shiny badge pinned to his robe and a pack of documents tucked into his pocket.

It only got worse from there.

His duties kept him from being able to work on homework and his journals as regularly as he would have preferred and he found that any extra time he would have had on the weekends was taken up by the homework he hadn't gotten to or tutoring the younger years. Apparently Flitwick had thought it was a great idea to have the prefects tutor younger years. In Phyrun's opinion, four of the five other prefects really did not need to be tutoring any of the other students. They were horrible at it. Thankfully there was a seventh year prefect that was a very good at tutoring and he very willingly worked with her in tutor session.

But now, nearly a month in, he's found to his surprise that Flitwick had been right. He made a rather good prefect and, even with all the extra responsibilities, he had settled into a routine that worked and would continue work when the work load got heavier.

He glanced at his watch, the devise informing him that he had an hour before noon. He closed his book and gathered his things. While lunch wasn't for a while longer, Phyrun wanted to go to the astronomy tower while the light was at its brightest during his free period. He had received the same alert as every other student and not even being a prefect privied him to the truth. But he had read the reports, had seen the markings on the trees. There was no way it was a simple student, let alone several of them. In fact, there was only one thing he could think of that could create so much damage.

Dragon.

He was pretty sure he would never caught sight of it but he liked documenting any new damage he could see from the astronomy tower. The day following the large section of forest burning, Phyrun had cut it pretty close getting to classes and duties on time because he had been in the tower sketching what he could see. He would love to see the dragon but, since all the action was happening at night, he doubted he ever would unless he stayed up at night and had some way to see in the dark.

He wasn't willing to take that risk. He could go to Romania and see the dragons there when he graduated if he so choose.

He started for the exit of the library, slinging the strap of his bag to the opposite shoulder.

Belladonna Coben
1472222640968.jpg

Location| Hogwarts Hall

Belladonna's innocent wishes for a normal year in the school of witchcraft and wizardry managed to shatter the very first day of class. She'd woken up in the Slytherin common room with a headache that could make a Hippogryff scream tangled in a mess of sheets, clothes, and limbs. It didn't take long for her to find the victim she'd taken to her chambers in a fit of horrible judgement and alcohol - and the discovery of said person's identity almost made her vomit. Sleeping right next to her hugging her body like a child while looking like an angel fallen from heaven without a scrap of clothing was Mila, the beautiful veela and Penelope's best friend.

Of all the students she couldn've slept with, Mila was probably the worst. This escapade of theirs would only worsen her non-existent relationship with the Hufflepuff girl, not to mention the horrors of Val's violent reaction if he ever found out his best friend had corrupted Mila in such a degrading manner. Ignoring the awkwardness of the scenario, Belladonna decided to wake up the sleeping beauty in order to warn her about the consequences of letting the steamy events reach anyone else's ears. After an incredibly uncomfortable (and rather scary, a few threats were involved) conversation, the girls reached an agreement and Belladonna ordered the other girl to leave the Slytherin common room before anyone else saw her. It was still rather early, most Slytherins would probably be too busy getting ready for the first day to notice Mila sneaking out.

Or so she thought.

As luck would have it, Sebastian happened to be one of the few Slytherins who weren't fussing over their schedules or appearances. To make matters worse, he'd chosen the most unfortunate moment to barge into the girl's room looking for his best friend, probably wanting to rant over her betrayal in the bar the previous night. The next few moments went by in a flash for the platinum haired teenager. Shrills, screams, covered eyes broke the peaceful silence in the room, and if Bella hand't been so busy trying to cover herself she would've marveled over Seb's horrified expression upon seeing the nude beauties. The racket also attracted Val to the room, where he was greeted with the image that would haunt his dreams forever.

After Mila limped her way out of the common room and Belladonna got herself ready for the first day, Val took his sweet time lecturing Belladonna for her affair with poor, innocent Mila and proceeded to hex her all the way to the Great Hall, where he stopped his jinxes to avoid detention from the Headmistress. And while the old hag did manage to get a word with them, Bella managed to play her role of the brave Slytherin dame who only wanted to make sure her Hufflepuff friend was safe sneaking out with the most notorious troublemakers in the school since the Weasley twins. That small victory would prove to be one of the few ones for the next three weeks.

The days went on as usual, with the exeption of Val's sudden absence from the infamous group of royal snakes. Bella could only assume this was because of her night with Mila, which had become a small rumor after the fiasco in the common room. While hearbroken over losing Val, she knew this was probably only temporary and the male would return to their sweet embrace soon. He wouldn't dream of leaving her alone when they were one week away from the full moon, right?

With the endless tream of classes, assigments, grueling sessions of dueling club and the closure of her parent's deaths, the attacks in the Forbidden Forest almost escaped Belladonna's mind. Like the other students, the girl found herself fascinated by the creature causing such damage. But she didn't plan on studying it or befrending it, oh no, in true Belladonna fashion, she wanted nothing more but to kill the creature. Or at least harm the monster enough to teach it to stay away from the forest. Her forest. Her heart seemed to gain speed every hour the monster breathed and the terror swept through her mind like unforgiving fire. She couldn't lose the forest. Without it, she would have nowhere to run once the first full moon made its appearance, and she didn't want to think of accidentally killing her friends or getting caught and sent to Azkaban. The way she saw it, this was a kill or be killed situation. And the Queen wasn't planning on leaving her throne anytime soon.

To kill your enemy you first had to know your enemy. And so far, Belladonna was as clueless as anyone else when it came to finding the beast's identity. Yet she didn't believe the popular theory of Hagrid's hideous monster, the blast-ended skrewt, being behind the attacks. She'd seen a few illustrations on her old Care of Magical Creatures textbook, and even they couldn't cause such a wild fire. Besides, she knew Hagrid's kind heart wouldn't allow him to leave his monsters out there in the woods without being properly cared of. She'd already dismissed the possibility of a human being behind the attacks, even if one could conjure a fiendfyre, the markings in the trees were nothing she'd ever seen before and were clearly not made by a witch or wizard.

With a copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" in hand, Belladonna walked through the halls of the castle while trying to fill her head with as much information as possible. She'd already made a plan to sneak out of the school and kill the creature. It would take some time to convince the Slytherin prefect to let her out, but a few galleons should work well enough. Now all she had to worry about was finding a companion, and finding a way to find a way to kill whatever creature was out there without being burned to death. Something told her this foe wouldn't be killed with a simple killing curse.

Sebastian had never expected the school year to start this way.

Pandora was a disgrace and going through with Val’s idea was a dead mistake. Sebastian could never understood what his friend saw in their attempts to confront all those efforts of sneaking out solely to get drinks. Sebastian was never much of a fan of drinking, though occasionally had been presented with some during family business where, for god knows what reason, he was required of being present. He could never get used to the shocking feel when the liquor washed down his throat, the burning sensation of the firewhisky seeping through his skin.

He wasn’t sure what had caused him to lash out that night, normally he’d let people go on with their business, especially with his firm mindset that this year, he was going to try to avoid Keith Anderson at all cost. It might be the alcohol (though he refused to believe of having that low of a tolerance), or it could have been his pent up frustration of the whole Pandora deal. The male still couldn’t seem to wrap his head around it. They grew up taking on the same upbringing, brought up with the same beliefs. Whatever could have caused her to stray from her path, from a family of wizards who believed in greatness to this laid back, muggle-loving Hufflepuff?

Sneaking back in the castle was another deal. As much as sneaking out was easy, going back in, however, he hadn’t anticipated. Though Sebastian was more than capable of casting an invisibility charm, he doubted its perfection as it should be done without a wand (all thanks to oh-wonderful-hero Keith and his stupid face). At least his Apparation hadn’t strayed too far. Every movement of shadows would have raced his heartbeat, every scratches upon Hogwarts marble floorings. Once he saw Mrs. Norris patrolling, and he could’ve sworn his soul almost floated away.

The next day, after he managed to wrap up a few business in his sleep and bracing himself of his father’s letters, Sebastian had yet made another mistake. Though he should’ve been preparing his books or at least combed his hair for that matter, the very first thing he did that morning was to check on Val, trying to get his wand back. Strangely enough, he wasn’t there. As a Slytherin whose temper is easily risen, he made his way to the girl’s dorm and even spared the effort of kicking the door open. The sight he could never forget to this very day. He had always known that Bella had a thing for girls like how Val had a thing for guys. Sebastian was okay with that, despite perhaps if he was to come out, he’d most likely be disowned by his family. Emotions blinds judgment, after all, and Sebastian had ever since tried to bind down his. But he had never expected Bella, whom he believed to have tastes, to spend the night with a filthy half breed.

That counted as twice betrayal. Sebastian took no effort to tone himself down when he lashed upon Bella, of course not failing to bring up what had happened in Three Broomsticks, though he held back giving any clue to when or where that happened, in case any of the other Slytherins were listening. First covering up for a lowly Hufflepuff who punched her friend on the face (he will never get over that. He will have his revenge) and then sleeping with said Hufflepuff’s best friend. As much as he was bad with faces, no one could ever forget Slutherland’s. The other girl, however, he sees as a blur of a face hanging around her shadows.

When Val had somehow gotten in the picture, Sebastian took as much effort as before to hold back lashing at him (which was none). Then he lashed at them both, specifically at Val for taking his wand away, though it was technically Keith who did. But of course, he’d expected more loyalty from his two friends. Going to first class was a salty experience, involving Sebastian who tried all his might to ignore the two and just basically throwing out the bitch face, and another side of Sebastian who was trying so hard not to laugh at Val hexing Bella. That day soon ended, and days went by in the blink of an eye.

As someone who was entirely obsessed with routine and traditionalism, going back to Hogwarts was something he had originally looked forward to despite the never ending danger of He-Who-Must-Not- oh screw it- Voldemort back in the great era of Saint Potter and his stupid scar and, of course, a constant bombard of homework and exams. This year should’ve ended up considerably more peaceful, with scarhead and his measly gangs out of the way and Sebastian was more than hoping that the war aftermath would knock on some sense into their heads. But how he was mistaken. Soon, a warning notice had been hung everywhere of the dangers of the Forbidden Forest (Sebastian had never went there anyway, so it was none of his concerns. He knew it was called Forbidden for a bloody reason). The sudden disappearance of Val, however, for some reason he couldn’t understand devastated him more than he should. It was the fact that he had left without saying anything was the one that broke his heart(?) most. Sebastian kept convincing himself that it was urgent, and despite having almost half his family stuck in Azkaban, the Rosiers still have a name to live up to. Sebastian would have done the same thing. So he kept it to himself, also taking the time to consult Bella, who of course, was as upset as he was regarding the news.

It was one other fine day after hours of sitting through Potions, Sebastian spotted the platinum haired girl, also having recently leaving from her classes. He left all the other Slytherins he was talking to without any further notice solely to catch up with her. Perhaps ever since Val’s departure, he had been overly clingy over her. As much as the trio had fought countless of times, they had never once failed to reconcile after they did, even sometimes it took them days, once even weeks. He peeked over her shoulders, speaking up without a greeting.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them?” he read out loud the title at the top of the page. Then he furrowed his brows before reading even further. “Peruvian Vipertooth, Norwegian Ridgeback- Hold on-” Sebastian used his free hand to shut the book his friend was reading and shifted to stand in front of her, his eyes darting back and forth from the book to her face. “You don’t plan to take on the dragon by yourself, do you? Because that would be one fantastic idea for a free fast ticket to expulsion OR a one-way ticket for a meet and greet with your parents with extra blankets of warmth.

Belladonna responded to her friend's sudden (and rather unwanted) appearance by gasping in shock and dramatically placing her hand against her chest to calm her racing heart. She'd been wondering what Sebastian was up to, for it wasn't natural for them to be so far away from each other ever since Val's departure. The young Blutmond male was so clingy it was a miracle she'd been able to escape from potions class and spend a few minutes alone before he noticed. The only reason she hadn't called him out on this...embarassing behaviour was because she rather liked having him around. He was an asshole, yes, but he was her best friend, and she was already running out of those.

"A dragon? Ple-ase, do you really think we wouldn't notice a dragon flying around the forest? Dragons happen to be bloodthirsty creatures whose only objective is to cause death and destruction. If a dragon really did manage to fly inside the forest, it wouldn't stay there when there are hundreds of delicious children just a few miles away," Belladonna replied, also forgetting the polite greeting her friend deserved. Clutching her closed book to her chest when after he'd rudely touched it. "Besides, the Headmistress would've evacuated the school was being attacked by a dragon."

Her last statement was spoken with less confidence and lacking the usual force found in most of her statements. While McGonagall was the best Headmistress Hogwarts had seen in centuries (at least better than that idiot Dumbledore and his greasy Slytherin spy), she was still a Gryffindor. Belladonna wouldn't put it past her to leave the students alone to face against a monster for the sake of bravery and chilvary. If a Gryffindor did manage to slay whatever monster was out there, Belladonna was certain that would be enough to make them win another house cup for having a fun adventure, even more reason to keep the students inside the school, then.

Despite counting on the entire Gryffindor house to deal with the monster problem (if only it were as easy as that), she knew this operation required finer planning skills and a better strategy than running inside the forest and sending a few stunning spells at the thing. If she wanted to keep the forest, she would have to deal with the beast herself. Which was not going to be easy. If the beast really was as dangerous as a dragon, there would be a cold day in Hell before she would be able to kill it and escape to tell the tale. She was going to need a partner, someone as intelligent and skilled as herself ready to risk their life to bring down a monter.

The Slytherin Queen smiled. Seb really couldn't have chosen a better day to stick his nose in her business.

"I- I have a problem," the girl whispered. She normally would've led him to a dark corner to speak freely, but the Gryffindor boy roaming the halls didn't seem to care about them, whispering her plan should be safe enough. "Look, I'll be honest with you. I really- really, need that forest free of monsters but I can't go there on my own. We pay a Slytherin prefect to let us out of the castle, you use that pretty broom of yours to get me inside the forest and we give the creature a well deserved air stike. You know I can make it worth your time."

Belladonna didn't have much to offer to someone who already had it all. She had no influence within the Coben family, Sebastian didn't need her gold and she couldn't just pay him with a reason for wanting to keep the forest safe. Best friend or not, Sebastian was still a racist, elitist idiot who despised all half-breeds. If she told him she was a werewolf, he would surely turn on her and make her condition public. Betrayal would not do. She needed something big enough to make him ignore her lack of detail. Something brilliant. Belladonna stood there, flipping through the pages of her book while she came up with a plan. The platinum haired beauty soon came to the conclusion that she couldn't offer him anything material. He didn't want something, he wanted someone. And she knew exactly who to use.

"Don't forget I have connections, Seb. You saw my... close, relationship with the veela girl, right? And how I defended Penelope? They're not the only two Hufflepuffs who like me, you know. If I remember correctly - which I do. Your sister, Pandora, ran off with the badgers, did she not? I politely ask my loyal Hufflepuff friends to convince the others to leave her alone, spread some nasty rumors about her not hugging trees and saving injured birds- or whatever Hufflepuffs like to do, and voila. Little Pandora is left with the crushing realization that her place was never in Hufflepuff and she comes running back to the comforting embrace of her big brother. Just think of how happy your parents are going to be when they hear the news." Belladonna's lies rolled off her tongue effortlessly and she thanked all pureblood families to scare their children into thinking family was everything. Without them, this would be hopeless. "Besides, slaying a monster might just be what we need to get Val back. Think about how scared he'll be once reads our 'left to find a dragon, don't wait up!' note. Then, when he's in his mourning dress sobbing all over our beds and old textbooks, we'll return with enough glory to put Potter to shame. Val will be so relieved he wont ever leave us again- with a new lesson within his heart or something. We're crowned heroes, and Keith dies of shame when you take his spot as the bravest person in the school. Do we have a deal?"

~AIVREE~
The first few days of school had been exactly like Aivree had anticipated. Dull, boring--all such words came to her mind. While the first night had been a bit more interesting, she had anticipated a lot more feedback from the more loud of her friends. Course, she had heard whispers of a certain scandal that had occurred but she decided to not think on the matter. After all, it wasn't like she was the one getting caught.

Rather a dumb mistake on the parties half but who couldn't hold their liquor? Another thought then occoured to her that of all the students she was probably the only one that really got to drink much and that was only because she snuck it. Hence her tolerance to it. Not the wisest choice for a young teenager but who gave a shit?

No, after the first little stunt Xavier and the rest of them pulled nothing to excited had happened. HSe had lost contact with some people, unsure what had really happened but being the loner she was it hardly bothered her. In a way it was a good thing, she could focus her mind on her studies and NEWTS that happened to be coming up. While she wasn't the most perfect student she tired to get good marks in the classes she enjoyed. Thus, her creature studies took top priority along with potions.

But the past few days, she had gone no where but to look outside at the forbidden forest. To take a gander at the forest. Why was that? Well, she had heard whispers, murmurs of a beast lurking within and she wanted to see it. The little trouble maker that lingered below her quiet nature wanted to burst foreword and just run into the forest, wand in hand.

Dragons where a passion of hers. If by some chance the murmurs were true? She was going to see it.

But going alone was foolish, instead she researched everything she could. Though, to be honest she had a great bit of knowledge before hand having studied beyond what the classes gave her. After gathering the information she needed she went for small walks, not close to the forest knowing full well that she could be expelled if she went to close, but close to see if, by some chance, she could hear a monstrous roar or even to ask Hagrid about what he known. After all, he had had a little dragon for awhile, even if it wasn't very long.

Finally, she had come to one conclusion. It was there, the signs had said everything, and if it wasn't at least it would be a good story to tell people.

Know, all she had to do was find someone to come with her and she had a feeling that she knew who to ask. Xavier would jump at some chance to talk about a dragon, hell he probably already knew about it. He was always more in the loop then she was. If he did, well he had better find her since her knowledge on beasts was probably the best in the school. Not to toot her own horn of course.

With that last thought she picked up Fluff from the floor, his meow of protest she ignored before sticking him in the back of her hood like normal and starting down the crowded halls. Keeping an eye out for a familiar face to catch up with.

Perhaps the school year would pick up with this new buzz.

11AM| Hallways->Owlery
Waking up on the morning after that first night out, Eli almost regretted going out to meet the rest of them. Almost. It was a miracle they had managed to sneak back in without Filch or anyone else noticing, drunk as they were. Thankfully he had the sense to gulp down a few glasses of water before passing out on his bed and his hangover the next day was minimal. He asked Mila about why she left so early the previous night but quickly forgot about it without getting a real answer, though he frequently joked with Pene about her punching Blutmond and playfully warned everyone not to piss her off.

The days seemed to pass quickly after that. He got to know the new Hufflepuffs, looking out for them because there was no easier prey for Slytherins -or so it seemed- and caught up with the rest of his friends and housemates. Most of them anyway. Though he frequently passed by Rachel in the corridors and in the common room Eli couldn't seem to find her brother anywhere. It wasn't too surprising since Phyrun wasn't exactly known for being easy to find. The Hufflepuff shrugged it off, figuring he would run into him (Phy-run, hah) eventually and they could catch up then.

Eli was hoping for a relaxed year this time. Famous last words. Sixth year was no walk in the park, and he regretted taking as many subjects as he did. He didn't know why all the teachers insisted on being so...intense when the NEWT exams weren't even this year. And they were only just starting! It was just sad, that's what it was. To top it off, Quidditch practice had just started up again. Not that he minded that one, but between hitting all those bludgers and writing all those essays he felt as if his arms might fall off.

Somehow, he managed to find the time to hang out with Keith, though the Gryffindor antics seemed to have gone down a notch after the ensuing prank war with Blutmond. That is, until they announced that thing with the Forbidden Forest. Which he supposed made it extra forbidden? Wasn't it already Forbidden? Either way, the moment he heard the news, he knew Keith wouldn't be able to resist poking into it. At this point he was just waiting for him to bring it up. Eli was pretty curious himself anyway. The whole thing just screamed suspicious, and despite being as busy as he was, he couldn't help craving another wild adventure. Besides, Care of Magical Creatures just wasn't the same indoors.

Finishing up his letter to his mother, he set down his quill messily -dropping blots of ink on the parchment- as he skimmed through what he had written. He was still a little worried about her, especially since she had started back on her job at the Ministry, but she insisted she was fine and told him to stop being such a mother hen. 'That's my job,' she had written jokingly in her latest reply along with a threat to send him a Howler if he wouldn't stop fussing. He had grinned at that and dared her to try. Lip twitching up again as he read the ending of his letter, his usual plea for a firebolt. Stretching his arms, he folded up the parchment neatly and sealed it in an envelope before standing and stretching again. Man, he was hungry. One quick stop at the kitchens and he was on his way to the Owlery, munching on a slice of cake.

MILA 'THE VEELA' SUTHERLAND
|| outfit: uniform. || feeling: awkward, embarrassed || location: the hallway ||
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Honestly, waking up on an unfamiliar floor had been confusing enough for Mila, but when she realised who had woken her and started to piece together the events (and probably the early hours of the morning), she couldn't believe what she'd done. Perhaps her own embarrassment was what had led her to just sit there and meekly agree to keep quiet rather than get mad at Bella. They'd both been drunk, it was pointless trying to pin blame. After their agreement she'd been ready to leave and then the situation had gotten worse when they'd been discovered. Oh, merlin, even the thought of it was too much to bear, she could already feel the blush rising in her cheeks as she trotted down the corridor with her textbook clutched to her chest.

Somehow the rumour -- well, the truth -- had gotten around. There were varying degrees of exaggeration and editing in various versions, but the facts were that Mila had slept with Bella. Essentially, Mila had not had a brilliant start to her term, what with feeling like everyone she passed was eyeing her up or whispering about her. She was supposed to be good, and how had she started her year? Oh, by getting drunk and sleeping with a Slytherin. At least she wasn't aching anymore.

For once, Mila was roaming the halls alone. She was brooding over her personal situation, of course, but also some new and certainly more frightening information. They were no longer allowed to venture near the Forbidden Forest, and she'd heard her fair share of theories for the reasons why. The general idea was that there was some sort of dangerous creature lurking in the foliage, but what it actually was? Well, nobody had really decided for a fact, at least not to her knowledge. Whatever it was, it was causing a significant amount of damage. Was she interested? Oh, incredibly. But at that moment in time she had her own little mission.

She hadn't actually spoken to Bella since the morning after their night together, but she couldn't avoid the platinum-haired Slytherin forever, right? Besides, if she waited any longer she'd probably never pluck up the courage. After a deep breath, she sped up a little so she could approach Bella and Sebastian before the pair walked away.
"Bella, nice to see you, I hope I'm not interrupting anything,'' Even when Mila was trying to be at least a little intimidating, her voice was still laced with sugar. Awkwardly she turned to smile at Sebastian, ignoring the little flutter in her chest; she'd always found him difficult to talk to thanks to her affection for him, and him seeing her with Bella had just made everything worse. Mila was in her uniform, shirt, skirt, tie, v-neck jumper, socks that went over her knees, and she still felt exposed. Her gaze was drawn to the book Bella was holding-- were they curious about the forest too? Asking about that could wait. ''I was wondering if you... The thing is, I left my..." She paused to gesture at her chest and prayed Bella would understand so she wouldn't have to actually say it aloud, ''I left it when I went back to my common room. Have you got it? I kind of need it if you have.''

While waiting for Bella's reply, Mila self consciously adjusted her tie and looked back up at Sebastian.
"The rumour that you left the big mark on my neck. I would like you to deny it.'' She tilted her chin up defiantly, but then added, ''Please.''

Penelope Hottle
Hallways, Hogwarts | 11 AM | Curious, a bit hurt
Blindsided.

If she was going to explain how she felt when she heard the rumors about Bella and Mila, Penelope would say that she just felt blindsided. She hadn't expected it at all. The Hufflepuff often heard of Bella's sexual conquests through the grape vine, but it never really bothered her. She was friends with Bella one of many that the Slytherin flirted with and she was alright with that. What she wasn't okay with was that the girl she flirted with had slept with her best friend. Her straight best friend. Or, at least, that was what Penelope had thought up until now. She had often talked about her own sexuality to Mila and was open about it with her. Mila generally responded with support, but never showed any interest in girls. Never! The girl had only talked about being into boys when they discussed love interests. Then, out of the blue, here she was sleeping with the girl Penelope was interested in! It had caught her off guard and it hurt. She was blindsided.

Penelope had been harboring a suppressed crush on her best friend for so long. The thing that helped her get over it was that the blonde beauty was straight and would never go for her, or any other girls for that matter. But now, out of nowhere, she had turned out to be completely wrong. Why hadn't Mila told her she was interested in girls? That had been a massive blow too. Mila had been one of the first few people Penelope had told about her sexuality. She learned about Mila's sexuality through the rumor mill. If they were such good friends why hadn't Mila told her? Did she not trust her? It made no sense to the brunette. It was embarrassing to have been so surprised when a Slytherin had told her about it. How did strangers know things about her friend that she didn't know?

As for Bella, Penelope felt a bit hurt that she would go for her best friend, especially with their longstanding flirty friendship. Why would she express playful interest in Penelope and then have sex with her friend? Unless maybe Pen was reading the situation wrong. The whole thing had made her question her friendships. Did she overestimate her value to other people? Or, to better phrase it, how much interest they actually had in maintaining a relationship with her, platonic or otherwise. In the time since she heard about it, she had been putting effort into her classes. It was weird, though, because she hadn't talked to Mila about that night, and had avoided Bella. Everything felt off to her. She acted as if everything were fine because she was still trying to figure out how to bring it up. Was she just supposed to blurt out 'did you have sex with Bella? are you gay? why didn't you tell me? are we friends?'. She had almost done it a few times, but had bit her tongue- another unfamiliar thing for her. Sooner or later, she was just going to burst.

On the bright side, there was a lot of in-school news to distract her, such as the creature in the forest. The rumors ranged from people thinking it was just a loose animal to conspiracy theorists predicting that the dark lord was not really dead and had come back. Penelope wasn't much of a conspiracy theorist, so she would bet her money that it was just some kind of magical creature, though she couldn't understand why the school hadn't solved it already. That was weird, right?

On this particular day, Penelope strode through the hallway after the infamously boring history class. She needed to get out. She wanted to go outside, get some fresh air, go on a run. Runs helped her clear her head and feel better; they were the cheapest form of therapy. Looking ahead, she saw Mila stop by Bella and Sebastian and she found herself getting angry- no, angry wasn't the right word; anger was hot and seeked instant gratification, this was colder and hurt her more than anger. Penelope was jealous. She went from a somewhat cheery, somewhat neutral expression to a hard frown and a furrowed brow. Why were they talking? Were they going to start being a thing? Why had Mila still not said anything to her? She wanted to confront them, ask what the hell was going on, but something caught the corner of her eye: a very tall, built, familiar figure. Eli. Talking to Eli was a better idea than confronting her friends, if she could really call them that. Plus, those two were at the other end of the hallway whereas Eli was passing by her.

"Eli!" Called the shorter girl, moving quickly to catch up, "where are you going? I'll go with you."

It didn't really matter what his answer was, she was going to follow him to wherever he was going. She needed to clear her head and Eli had a way of lifting her mood. Unlike her relationship with Mila, the one with Eli was as strong as ever. Things never really got weird between them and she valued that. Her eyes scanned the Hufflepuff boy, noticing parchment and a slice of cake. Was it a letter? She knew that his mother cared a lot and sent letters often. It tugged at her heartstrings a bit because it reminded her that her own mother never sent those anymore. God, what she would give for a letter from her mother. Her eyes flickered with a sadness for a second but she pushed it away, making sure it was gone as fast as it came. She replaced it with a smile.

"Are you going to offer me some of that cake or am I going to steal it from you?"

Listening to Bella speak had almost convinced him enough to get him to help her out. Almost. As expected of the self-proclaimed Slytherin Queen, or as he’d like to see it, the Queen of Manipulations. Stuck with her for so long had taught him just that- that few of her words is actually trust worthy, even to her very own best friends. She could lie through gritted teeth as easily as Keith getting his detention on first day. Truth be told, the platinum blonde haired girl did hit the spot. Sebastian would’ve rejected straight on if he had been bribed with money (and even feel insulted for a bit. Who would dare bribe a Blutmond with money? As long as they valued their lives, that is).

Getting Pandora to Slytherin is one of the things. Just a few days prior, Sebsatian had received a mail from his father, and it was nothing close to a wish-you-luck for his sixth year. His two friends should’ve known about it, because not only did he sulk through an entire day, he took no effort to stop himself from ranting it to them on breakfast, hallways, even classes. He knew it was probably too late, that the girl is ruined by god-knows-what. But there is always a slight chance…Sebastian had heard rumors of students moving through houses before. Nonetheless, being expelled is still better than to stick around in that rotten house. Suppose there is no downside of trying.

As for Val. As embarrassing as it may sound spoken out loud, there was nothing he could’ve wanted more at this point than the return of his fluffy-haired best friend. Despite him often seeing his two friends as equals, there was always this...odd part of him that somehow said Val. The boy had lingered his thoughts way more than necessary, Sebastian had even went to McGonnagal solely to ask about the boy’s whereabouts. It was an action he rarely did for despite his well-mannerisms in class, Sebastian always had that tiny feeling tugging in him that McGonnagal never quite liked him. Wonder why (well, maybe because you’re a racist idiot). All McGonnagal had told him was that Val took an excuse to leave the school for a while, and that he’d be returning. Till this day Sebastian was left anticipating in blind hope that one day Val would return by his side. He was torn between wanting to kiss him or kill him.

But then again, Sebastian knew that most likely, Bella was going to bend the truths in the end (or just lie. And laugh at him afterwards. Same difference). There was no point of gambling the chances and risk getting him killed, or worse expelled. “No bloody way,” Sebastian coughed out a scoff and shook his head, looking at his best friend, not for the first time, as if she was mad. He made enough mistakes following through their tiny quest to Hogsmeade on first day (and paid the price to it), there was no way he was going to join in for a second, even stupider one. This time Val wasn’t even here to force him into it, so he didn’t see any points.

Sebastian didn’t even comment on her bribery, for as tempting as they get, one should learn to ignore them as time goes by. “You want to go to a place specifically told not to enter? Fine! That’s fine by me. Because the sign is totally there for decorations.” Then he lowered his voice, leaning closer to her to prove his point, or more like just in case anyone was around listening. “If there is one thing you can rely me for, is that if you weren’t dead by then, I would be the one reporting your arse to Professor Kittens.

Before he knew it, however, a clicking noise of someone’s footsteps entered the halls. Sebastian moved back, looking over Bella’s shoulder to find, well. Sebastian couldn’t hold the smirk from crawling up his face. Among many, Mila is one of his most favourite to mess with. Her reactions never once failed to amuse him- especially now that her brunette pet is nowhere to be seen.

Well well well, if it isn’t my dear Mila Slutherland. Lady of the evening, or should I say lady of the dungeons. Care for someone o slither back in your chambers?

Her confrontation to Bella about her undergarments (Sebastian is not that dense. Honestly.), the male coughed and drifted his eyes away. It was a conversation he felt he shouldn’t enter…for specific reasons. But when Mila did look up at him and spoke, did he feel the need to reply.

Hm…let me consider,” he said, feigning an act of thinking before snapping his gaze back to her. “No.” He laughed, crossing his arms and leaned his body against the wall. “You have to be smarter than that to bribe me…but honestly what should I expect from a girl who only knows to use her body..” It was true. He did spread false rumours that he had slept with the young veeka…or more like implied, actually. He said that the girl had spent the night in the Slytherin dungeons. He said that he had seen her naked body, even taking the effort to describe them in crude details. Neither was wrong, but people chose what they’d want to believe, and so began the rumours.

Enjoying the sight of the flustered female, he decided to push it through. “So let me just be straight forward with you, in case that’s the only way your sex-crazed mind can accept the fact.” He leaned forward, gently tucking a strand of the girl’s hair behind her ears, taking extra notice to make sure his hand brushed her cheeks. Then he leaned further in, getting his lips close to her ear, perhaps even gently brushing as he spoke. “Have sex with me.”

Without any real evidence to back up Keith's bizarre claims, it was no surprise to see that none of the prefects he had attempted to bribe ahem, convince rejected his requests to sneak in. The list he was going through was running short and in all honesty, Keith wasn't a picky person. He was simply impatient. He held onto his last straw of hope on the newly Ravenclaw Prefect; and despite being no where on close terms with the brunet male in mind, Keith had a feeling he'd manage to convince Phyrun one way or another. He could only pray that the feeling wasn't blind confidence.

On his way to find the said male (libraries were always the first stop and if not there, anywhere else that proved a quiet read), Keith picked up a few allies along the way. Having bumped into Aivree in the hallway, the taller Gryffindor male slung a lazy arm around the smaller babe, grinning ear to ear as he greeted her with the usual tease.

"You're top in our COMC (Care of Magical Creatures) class right? I'm sure you know a thing or two about, say, dragons?" Keith asked, using his free hand to stroke Fluff's chin (in all honesty, he never really understood why the cat was called fluff when it was nearly all naked). "I'm sure you get where I'm coming at. Are you in?" Regardless of Aivree's answer, the mischievous glint in Keith's eyes denied anything that wasn't a 'yes'. Giving the smaller babe a moment to answer, Keith's attention was taken by the two Hufflepuffs who were walking towards them.

"Eli, Penny! PennEli," he rhymed, sauntering towards them and pulling the two into a brief hug as greeting. "Where did you get the cake? I don't remember seeing them serve it breakfast today," he commented with a small, confused frown. "Are you guys on the way to lunch? Let me and TTF (tiny thunderfist, it seems Keith's nicknames just get shorter and shorter each semester) join you," he added, pulling Aivree in with the crowd.

Two Gryffindors and two Hufflepuffs made company for better or for worst. The double duo (because quadruple doesn't sound as nice) slipped into comfortable conversation, and it wasn't long until the two most popular rumors were brought up: Mila being one and the situation with the Forbidden Forest being another. Surprisingly, Keith paid more mind to the latter.

Sure he had been shocked initially, as would any person who was friends with sweet, innocent Mila; but that shock eventually gave way to disinterest. If it didn't involve him, he saw no reason to care. He'd never admit that deep down, he was a bit vexed that his spotlight had been taken away.

"So about the Forbidden Forest rule going around. What are your thoughts about it?" Keith brought up, obviously intending to drag the two Hufflepuffs into his rule-breaking scheme, "You really think a student managed to burn down one-fifth of the school?" His question was far from rhetorical.

Elliot Shepard
12AM| Hallways

God, this cake was good. Eli gave it an appreciative look as he navigated the hallways. Befriending the house elves working in the kitchens definitely had its perks. It was amazing to just be able to pop inside whenever he was feeling hungry. How some students survived the whole seven years without ever being able to sneak into the kitchens for a bite was a mystery to him, he'd been going ever since his second year when one of his older housemates had shown him how to get in. The memory made him grin a little, remembering exactly just what they had got up to that night. Who said Hufflepuffs were boring? Gradually his mind wandered to other things, like the latest Quidditch drills, the pile of homework waiting for him.. What should he do after this? Perhaps look for Keith- A familiar voice interrupted his thoughts. He recognised it immediately and as such his mouth was already turning upwards in a wide grin as he turned to face one of his most favourite persons as she ran up to him.

"Hey Pen!" Eli greeted her enthusiastically and hugged her the best he could with both hands currently occupied. He was always happy to see her, though he had noticed she seemed a little off lately. Both she and Mila seemed a bit different, but neither had said anything to him. He had thought of asking them about it a few times but crossed out the idea each time. They'd tell him if they wanted to, he guessed. Besides maybe he was just imagining it. If it became more obvious then he would butt in. Wait, was that Mila? His gaze shifted over to the other side of the hall where his fellow Hufflepuff was standing with...he squinted. Was that Bella Coben? And...Blutmond? His eyes widened in surprise, wondering what Mila would want with the two Slytherins. He was about to point this out to Pen when he noticed she seemed a little sad. Deciding to leave it for now, he focused his full attention on his best friend. "Just heading to the Owlery, send this off to mom." He made a small gestured with the hand holding the envelope before stuffing it away into his pocket and out of sight -he didn't want to remind Pen unnecessarily about her mother. Intending to cheer her up, he wrapped his now free arm around her shoulders for a moment, squeezing her to his side briefly before changing the subject.

"Oh no, you're a cake thief. Please, don't punch me," he said, pretending to cower and holding out his slice of cake, but he couldn't stop his grin. Three weeks and he still hadn't gotten over the fact that she had punched Blutmond. And he wouldn't let her forget it either. Eli wished for the hundredth time that he'd been there to see it, just thinking about Penelope taking a swing at the Slytherin boy, and the look on Blutmond's face brightened his day. Even if he hadn't been there to see the act himself, he liked to imagine exactly how stupefied he would look when her fist connected with his face. The sight would probably have made his top ten memories. When she had taken the cake, he straightened up, laughing, and settled his arm comfortably around her shoulders once again. "So how was history? Manage to catch up on your sleep?" he teased, as they made their way to the Owlery, with a little less cake but a lot more happiness on his part. Eli considered it a blessing from the gods that he no longer had to take the mind-numbing subject.

They didn't get far before they ran into Keith and Aivree. "Hey man," Eli greeted his hufflebro, before smiling at his other friend and holding out a hand for a fistbump, and petting Fluff gently. "Hey Aiv." And just like that it was the four of them now. Playing off Keith's question with a slight shrug, he looked at Pen in askance before replying, "Yeah sure, lunch sounds great. Especially after this fiend stole my cake," he pulled a sad face. "I haven't eaten since breakfast. I'm practically malnourished!" He could always go to the Owlery later anyway, it wasn't as if the letter was urgent. He hadn't sat down for lunch with these particular people together in a while. Still, he did absently run his fingers over the pocket where the now crumpled letter was stashed. When Keith finally brought up the forest, Eli couldn't helped but let out a laugh, amused at having guessed it right. "I don't know," he pretended to think, straight-faced. "I'm sure you could do it with no problem."

Belladonna Coben
1472222640968.jpg

Location: Hogwarts Hall
Belladonna's sly smile was replaced by an expression of complete shock and confusion. She had not expected Sebastian to look past her bribery and lies. They'd worked so well in the past, there was no logical explanation for them to fail her in a moment of need. Granted, she had manipulated Sebastian in the past and had manipulated others while he watched. That much experience alone would make anyone immune to her manipulation tactics. But this was Sebastian. The only teenager in the world who could survive a war and still be afraid of something as harmless as a duck. The fact that he'd been able to put his longing for Pandora, Val and Keith's suffering aside for just a second was rather surprising. If Belladonna hadn't been so shocked, she would've been impressed.

Her shock intensified when he said he would report her to a professor. She wished her ears were merely playing a trick on her. Sebastian Blutmond, betraying his best friend for breaking the rules? It was so ridiculous she might've laughed at what she hoped was nothing more than a childish prank. His betrayal clouded her mind with anger. Enough to stop her from noticing he'd mentioned a fake professor. "And betray your best friend and Slytherin?" The girl asked, "have your few remaining brain cells finally left that peanut you dare call a brain? Not only would you take points away from our house, you would also lose the only friend you have left. Do you really think Val is the only one who can leave? If I hear one more comment of the same nature consider this group broken."

It was cruel, yes. Being cruel, spoiled pureblood brats meant not many students were fond of the silver trio. They gained their respect and followers due to fear, not love. The group was long past the stages of a simple friendship- they were family. And there was nothing more sacred to a pureblood than family. "Well, at least I wont have to worry about you being punched by some Hufflepuff girl again," she added dryly.

Almost out of nowhere, she heard Mila's oh-so-familiar voice over her shoulder. She eyed the girl with hungry eyes as she explained her predicament, not playing much attention to what she had to say. Belladonna only understood what she meant when her gaze fell to her chest, coincidentally the same place the Slytherin was eying. She remembered retrieving the blonde's undergarments soon after the embarrassed Hufflepuff had left her chamber. Like with most of her other affairs, she'd decided to keep the girl's underwear as a souvenir. A reminder of her first shag with a veela and part of her new business. It was rather depressing to see how many boys had paid just to look and touch Mila's bra. The extra coins in her purse were a constant reminder on their failed generation.

"I don't think so, darling Mila," Belladonna commented, finally tearing her gaze from the girl's chest to her own perfectly manicured nails. "Your bra has made me filthy rich. With my brother gone, I'm really going to need that money. You don't want me to go bankrupt, do you?" The sweetness tainting her voice was so fake it was almost toxic, but she knew Mila wouldn't care what she sounded like as long as she got to help a woman in need. And she knew exactly how to make Mila earn her clothes back.

Belladonna placed her hand on her moon necklace as Seb tried to trick Mila into sleeping with him. The almost-full moon served as a reminder of the short time she had left to reclaim the forest. Desperate times brought desperate measures, and even if her plan was insane, it was the only thing she had. That, and it would also serve Seb a reminder of what she was capable of without his companionship.
"She's not a prostitute, you sexist moron" Belladonna spoke, "Mila, look at me, you don't have to sleep with him. Trust me, Sebastian is even rougher than I am and even I'm not cruel enough to let that happen. I have a better proposal, sweetie. One that doesn't involve prostitution with the guy who loves that squid more than he loves women."

With all the care she could muster, Belladonna placed her hands around Mila's waist and placed her lips right next to her ear. It was hard to ignore Seb's looming figure right in front of them, but she managed just fine by closing her eyes and telling herself to think of Penelope rather than Sebastian. "Mila, I really need your help." Her whispers were as quiet as a skilled thief, and if she was lucky, just as efficient. "I need to kill the creature in the forest, but I can't do it alone. I'm sure a popular girl like yourself could get me a team brave enough to fly into the forest by ourselves. All I need you to do is to bring your friends, we'll go to the forest tonight, and kill whatever's risking the children's safety. You do this, and I'll give you back your bra and dispel all of those nasty tumours circulating around the school." Remembering her failure with Seb, Belladonna knew she had to be more convincing than that. And when all else fails, violent threats were always a valid answer. "If you don't, I might just have to tie you up in the Slytherin dungeons, where there are hundreds of young men just dying for an opportunity to claim the school's whore as their own. It's your choice."

Elliot's response drew out a laugh from the Gryffindor male. "If you're malnourished, then that makes the rest of us corpses," he mused, giving the larger male a light smack on the shoulder. It wasn't a sting to his pride to admit that his friend was buff. Elliot was one of the fittest people he knows and the fact that he never overtly boasted of it made him all the more likeable. In the start of their friendship, before the two were on a first name basis, Keith had referred to him as 'Hufflebuff'; as their bond deepened, his standing was later upgraded to 'Hufflebro'. A brother was exactly what Elliot was to Keith and he wouldn't have had it any other way.

Leading the group towards the dining hall, Keith rolled his eyes as the others seemed to silently agree with Elliot's answer. "Oh come on, I'm not that bad," he defended himself rather poorly. A part of him knew that he was capable of mass destruction if he hadn't had his friends around to keep his trouble down to a minimum. "You guys didn't think it was me who did it, do you? I'm telling you, it's definitely a dragon. Why else would there be huge claw marks and shit?" He rambled on, using his charisma to convince his friends into believing his crazy theory.

"If you don't believe me, I propose we check it out. Tonight," Keith grinned, entering through the doors of the Great Hall. A number of students were already inside, already eating and chatting as they always were. "All I need is a Prefect whose willing to bring us..." he sighed, voice trailing as his mind wandered to something--or someone-- he was looking for initially. "Speaking of which, have any of you seen Runny-- I mean, Phyrun, recently?"

Before anyone could answer, Keith had already bolted, verdant eyes lighting up at the familiar sight of unruly curls. Seated alone at one of the "Slytherin" tables was one person who could influence the Gryffindor's mood more than he knew he could.

"Simba!" Keith greeted, sliding into the seat besides the Slytherin male. The concept of personal space was lost to him as he sat, barely millimeters apart. "Strange seeing you alone for once. Where have you been? I've missed you," he said, speaking with careless ease. It was hard to believe the sincerity of his words when he spoke that way. In its own way, that was Keith's defense mechanism: acting like he didn't care when he did protected himself from risking his feelings. With one arm propped under his chin and the other on the table, he grinned that ever smug grin of his as he waited for Val's answer.

"Phyrun!"

Phyrun paused with a foot on the stairs, looking in surprise towards his sister running towards him, a large grin on her face. He smiled fondly at her. "Rachel. What are you doing here?"

She grinned at him, coming to a stop before him. "I was looking for you. You remember Pandora Blutmond, right? One of the first year Hufflepuffs?"

Phyrun blinked at her, though he didn't remember young Pandora due to her being a Hufflepuff per se. He was fairly certain her brother was a bit more of the reason why he remembered. "Yes," he answered simply.

"Well, she needs some help with her classes and I'm not much of a tutor and the other Hufflepuffs, while they're all kind and whatnot, they're not as patient and intelligent as you are and you're always so good at figuring out how to teach to someone who's just not understanding." She took in a deep breath, ready to continue her rush of words, but Phyrun placed a hand on her head, smiling gently.

"I would be happy to help Miss Blutmond, but I think it would be wise if you introduced me first. The only Hufflepuffs I've only really interacted with are you and Shepard."

Rachel puffed out her cheeks at him, batting at his hand. "Call him Elliot. He's earned that much."

He chuckled, touching the back of her shoulders. "Alright, alright. No need to get overenthusiastic over an old habit."

She beamed at him and started down the halls at a skip. Phyrun followed after her at a much more sedated pace. They entered the Great Hall and Phyrun glanced about, catching a glimpse of Elliot and Keith, though Keith was in motion to doing something. Phyrun continued to follow his sister down the Hufflepuff table, finding no need to focus on Keith's actions.

~AIVREE~
Aivree knew the moment she left her little study corner she could find someone to try and get things to work wkith. After all, the school was a buzz with the rumors as of late. Almost immediately after she stepped into the crowded halls of students getting to next class she found a familiar friend of hers come swing his shoulder over neck.

Pushing the fact he called her short once again, Aivree looked up to Keith with a sly grin. "Hell yeah I am. I want to say I am the best in school but that might be tooting my own horn." she admitted shrugging ever so slightly. Her ears perked at the dragon comment. "Well, I know I don't have much of a say in the matter but I was actually going to come and find you for that exact reason. Been looking into a few things, the school is buzzing with the rumor." she murmured lowering her voice ever so slightly while walking with Keith.

Fluff meowed in thanks to the pets on his head before the attention was taken by the hufflepuff walking down the way. Aivree gave a wave smirking as Keith worked his magic to get the two of them to join the party. It was almost a good thing keith was so easy going and able to get everyone out of there comfort zones. If it was for him, Aivree probably would be left alone for some reason or another.

"i want cake know." Aivree frowned the smell cuaed her stomach to growl. "Glad its lunchtime." she admitted following the small group. The conversation lingered on the two subjects like all the others. Dragons and who slept with who. Aivree wasn't to excited about the later, the dragon still held her interest strongly.

"If they had they would have been suspended already, I highly doubt that it was just a student. We would have heard about that." Aivree put her two sense in. "I've looked a bit, I have a feeling its what you think it is. Horntail more then likely, but don't quote me on it." she added, just in case by some chance she was wrong. "If you're going count me in. Seeing a dragon up close is a dream of mine, I'd love to watch its interactions up close and personal." Aivree nodded her head in agreement hoping that the rest of the team would.

It would be a lot easier if they had more hands, and probably a lot more fun. As long as no one got burned to a crisp of course.

great hall — slytherin tablex.
Though it had been weeks since the disaster that was Hogsmeade, Val could still feel the all-too-familiar tendrils of resentment tugging at the back of his mind. The anger had faded somewhat, mostly because he had made the conscious decision to steer clear of his so-called “friends” for the time being (though it was largely for their benefit, given that Val’s temper could only be described as ‘highly volatile’ and was best expressed through particularly nasty hexes and the occasional curse).

Also, he wasn't exactly at Hogwarts for most of that time. He'd only returned earlier that morning, in fact, so whatever it was that's been happening—and oh, he knows there's something happening. He can see it in peoples' faces, this minutia of discomfort—but yes, whatever it is, he knows fuck-all about it and would very much like to keep it that way.

He had far too much on his mind to even consider involving himself in whatever crap Hogwarts had found itself in while he was away. Besides, it couldn't possibly be that bad.

...Right?

Val waved the thought away just as the chair next to him scraped backwards, and an uncharacteristically harried-looking Elias plopped himself down.

"Who told you you could sit? And where's the rest of you?"

Huh. Val looked over Elias' shoulder, only to find empty air where there should've been a brunette and a blonde (or at least whatever colour Cedrella decided to dye her hair with that month).

"Erm. They've rowed." Elias answered. The boy clearly looked as if he wanted to leave it at that, but an expectant glare from Val prompted him (albeit reluctantly) to continue.

"Poppy stopped talking to Ced last week and wouldn't say why, and Ced sorta...I dunno...confronted her? In the common room. And, uh, this was three days ago and..." He trailed off, eyes nervously shifting under Val's scrutiny.

"And?" Val scowled, "And what?"

"They broke three couches and sent a second year to the hospital wing. There's black goo still stuck to the walls and the dungeons smelled like burnt hair for hours. Bella had to pry them off of each other. It was awful."

Val blinked. Two weeks he'd been away and already the Slytherin house had gone up in flames.

"Fix it." He said, simply. Elias looked at him like he'd been stabbed.

"What?"

"I said fix it." Val repeated. "If the main trio are fighting, which we still are, then the secondary trio can't. It's for solidarity's sake. We have to present a united front otherwise the other houses will think us weak. You don't want the other houses to think we're weak, don't you?" He prompted, forcefully jabbing the blond on the shoulder.

"Er. N-no?"

"Good. Now fix it."

The other boy still sported a pained look, but nodded shakily anyway.

"And be sure to get me a list of all the homework I missed after you do." Val added as Elias stood and left.

To be honest, Val couldn't care less about solidarity and shit like that. It just so happened that Elias and Co. worked far better together than they ever could alone. They probably wouldn't be able to find their way out of the library by themselves, much less do Val's bidding. And everybody knows the younger trio existed to cater to Val's many whims.

As soon as Elias had gone, Val reached into his satchel for a spellbook he'd taken from the library at the manor. Not for anything academic in particular. Just for spells concerning ducks.

So there he sat. Minding his own business. Reading up on the various way he could terrorize Seb to let the asshat know he had returned...

...When a familiar singsong-y voice reached his ears and Keith bloody Anderson's face rapidly filled his peripherals.

It was purely instinct when his palm landed firmly on the Gryffindor's cheek—pressed so closely that Val could feel the other male's body heat radiating off of him. It was also instinct that prompted Val to shove Keith back and—seeing his fingers smooshed into his face—push him back even further.

"Have you no shame?" Val scowled, snatching his hand away in disgust as soon he had deemed Keith an appropriate distance away from his person.

"And how many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?" What did 'Simba' even mean, anyway? Was it some sort of Latin? Greek? A made up language only bloody Anderson could understand? Val leveled him with a look that could only be described as pure loathing.

But knowing Anderson, it probably wouldn't faze him in the slightest.

Val scoffed, taking his spellbook and shoving it back in his bag. "It's none of your business what I do in my spare time, Anderson. Nor is it any of your business if I choose to spend it alone." He spat, shouldering his satchel as he stood. So Anderson missed him. How quaint. Of course, it being Anderson, it probably didn't even mean anything.

...Correction. It definitely didn't mean anything. Oh, 'I missed you, Val' HA! As if Anderson would really miss him. 'I miss you' was likely just another meaningless platitude he threw around to spread his frankly obnoxious cheer.

Anderson would never miss him.

Val shouldn't keep his hopes up.

His bag swung wildly over his shoulder as he stomped out of the Great Hall, hardly sparing the Gryffindor a glance as he left.

If Keith were smart, he'd leave Val alone.

If Val were smart, he'd stop wishing Keith wouldn't.

MILA 'THE VEELA' SUTHERLAND
|| outfit: uniform. || feeling: awkward, embarrassed || location: the hallway ||
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Filthy rich? How could one bra make Bella any money? It hadn't been very expensive, so... Oh. A flush filled Mila's cheeks as she finally realised what the Slytherin girl was implying. So that was what that boy had been referring to when he'd told her that he hadn't known she'd like lace so much. Made a lot more sense now that she knew what she knew. Before she could protest, Bella spoke again and somehow managed to guilt trip Mila into falling silent again. No, she didn't want to bankrupt somebody, that would be cruel, wouldn't it? If she spoiled things for Bella she'd feel bad, and she already felt awkward enough without any added guilt.

Sebastian was there, and deposited her best efforts she couldn't ignore it. Oh, why did her heart flutter when he called her 'my dear'? He probably said that to everybody! She barely even acknowledged the play in her surname, too busy dwelling on his greeting. Somehow she managed to keep her chin up, looking right st his face until he denied her request-- immediately her gaze dropped to the floor, more specifically to her shoes, as though they were suddenly the most interesting thing ever. It was pathetic how easily she let him belittle her, even she knew that, but she just couldn't help it. Pushover, that's what she'd been called in the past, among other things. Sometimes she wished she could be more like Penelope, Aivree, even Bella. Perhaps she could be, one day. But not at that moment.

Have sex with me.
Oh, merlin. Had she imagined what Sebastian had just whispered in her ear? Had she imagined that his lips had brushed her ear for just a moment? Mila's hands clenched by her sides as her blush spread, creeping along her cheeks at an alarming rate. Slowly she took a deep breath, trying to think of something to say that wouldn't make her seem too foolish. Maybe she was feeling brave.
"You know, Seb," She began carefully, unclenching her hand and raising it, placing it gently in his chest and nudging him away, "If I thought you were being serious, I might actually say yes." There, that would work. Hopefully she didn't sound too nervous, hadn't her voice been too high? She thought she sounded fairly calm. He didn't need to know that she was being entirely serious herself.

Then Bella drew her in, and Mila's heart began to race all over again. This girl had seen so much of her that really there was no reason to be afraid anymore, but somehow she was more nervous than she'd ever been around the girl. Again she breathed deeply, listening to Bella's proposal, allowing herself to think for a moment that they were equals when in reality any idiot could see that Bella had total control of the situation. Mila was no match for her, she couldn't turn down the chance to help somebody, especially if it meant that there was a possibility people would stop saying quite so many crude things about her. Having her bra back would be nice-- it was a good bra, after all.

"Sure, I'll--" Mila was cut off as Bella continued, adding a threat to her suggestion. The Hufflepuff's eyes widened significantly, and she gulped. Go on, Mila, defend yourself, snap at her. No matter how hard she tried to think of a decent retort in her head, all that the startled girl could manage was barely a whisper. "I'm... I'm not a whore." She pulled herself away from Bella, tucking a honey coloured lock of hair delicately behind her ear as she looked between the platinum haired girl and Sebastian. "I can't make promises but I suppose I can try and help you. I'll ask the others if they'd b-be up for it. To make the school safe again, right?"

The hand that pushed him away only tugged on the invisible tendrils around the brunet's heart; magnetic, alluring, calling. It did little to help with the ever-present grin on the Gryffindor's face and even with the scathing retorts, Keith's mind took it in with both endearment and amusement. He rose his brows at the mention of shame, expecting the curly-haired Slytherin to know him better than that: Of course he had none. Keith Anderson was shameless and if being so was the way to catch Val's attention, then shameless he will continue to be.

He laughed at Val's scowl, leaning in once more, but just enough to avoid getting pushed away again. (He never was one to learn from his mistakes). "What if I want to make it my business? What if I want you to be alone with me," he stated more than asked, verdant eyes focused and the last two words emphasized with the pause he had intentionally left. His questions were only answered with Val's immediate leaving and like puppy, Keith had followed after him, getting up only seconds after Val did.

The briefest look of rejection was went unseen, lasting for no less than a minuscule second. His heart pounded with adrenaline as he stopped the male from exiting the Great Hall, his hand coiled around the Slytherin's wrist. His mind screamed at him to let go, warning him of the possible hex Val could easily throw at him in his vulnerable state. Blind trust, instinct and foolish bravery prompted him to continue.

"Simba-- Val, wait," he called, voice almost a plead. His mind raced for an excuse to keep the brunet in place. "I still owe you a drink and Eli and the others are planning to hang out in the woods later. Do you wanna come join?" He asked, jabbing his thumb back at his group of friends standing in the Great Hall. His tongue darted over his lips as he mentally kicked himself. Regret was instant in his words. He should honestly take lessons from Oliver and start thinking before he spoke. "Unless you're too busy or scared. I won't push, but if you come I promise to show you something neat."

His hands were shoved into his pockets, a boyishly hopeful look on his face as he feigned confidence. Hopefully Val wouldn't call him out on his bluff. Hopefully, he'd say yes.

outside the great hallx.
Warm fingers closing around his bare wrist, a faint pull halting him mid-step.

Val hardly had to turn to guess who it was.

"What if I want you to be alone—"

For a moment, he allowed himself to revel in the other boy's warmth—eyes fallen shut, teeth tugging at his bottom limp—confident that, with his face turned away, he and the rest world would remain blind to that brief gesture of weakness.

"—with me?"

Then the moment passed, and Val found himself wide awake.

"What now?" He hissed, features twisted into a snarl as he spun around, roughly jerking his arm from the Gryffindor's grip. He should've hexed Anderson right then and there. Hadn't he bothered Val enough? Luckily, the other boy's mouth ran faster than Val's hands, speaking just before the Slytherin could reach for his wand.

"If by 'the woods', you mean the Forbidden Forest," Val started, fingers forming little air-quotes at 'the woods', "Then why the fuck would you think I'd want to go near there, much less with you bloody idiots?" Honestly, it was called the Forbidden Forest for a reason, and he was about to say that much when Anderson opened his mouth again.

And there it was.

"Unless you're too busy or scared—"

S c a r e d.

Val scoffed. Valerius Rosier was many things, but he wasn't a fucking coward. And he wasn't about to let some pig-headed, troll-faced git prove otherwise! Even though Anderson didn't really look much like a troll. In fact, he looked quite nice, and Val had always been drawn to the way the light of the Great Hall reflected off of his eyes—nevermind.

Val silently cursed his treacherous mind for getting side-tracked and Anderson for causing his thoughts to drift in the first place.

This is why he could never be alone with the other boy. He had never doubted his self-control, but if he kept this up, he might just embarrass himself.

But still. Back to the matter at hand.

"Fine." He spat. "I'll go."

"Whatever it is, it better be interesting." He continued, "Pray you don't waste my time."

With one last contemptuous glare at the Gryffindor, Val turned and left, calling out "I'll be at the library." over his shoulder as he did so. Val certainly wasn't about to go to the Forbidden fucking Forest alone. If Anderson wanted him to go that badly, then he could pick him up himself—or better yet, send Shepard to do it.

Val smirked a little at the thought, suddenly finding himself looking forward to Keith's 'surprise'.

There were two things specifically that Sebastian liked to point out. Firstly, he had never once thought of squids that way. Not once, not ever. Not even when that squid watches him sleep every night and practically lives next to him. Also, it’s probably larger than the Slytherin common room. It was just a joke he had cracked one time in front of his two friends and for some reason, neither had let him go with that one. Of course, he wouldn’t bother to correct the platinum blonde girl as it would only make him creepier. Secondly, and most significantly; if the things that Bella had said to him earlier hadn’t bothered him in the slightest, then he’s lying.

Sure, Sebastian was never the type to sweep a fair maiden off her feet, serenading her with sappy romantic poems and showering her with love and kisses. A contributing factor might be the fact that he had always preferred shining knights over fair maids anyway, but that’s outside of the point. The three of them: Sebastian, Bella, and Val. They were not friends, they’re family. The trio (or as they liked to be called, the silver trio) has been in each other’s company for longer than they remembered. They had grown together, changed together, and had faced so many. Deep down he knew that he wouldn’t be who he is right now without them, and neither would they. It is as King Lear had said: I cannot heave my heart into my mouth.

Lately, however, the trio had been falling apart. Val left without prior notice; Sebastian could never understood why. The Slytherin male knew that his doe-eyed friend didn’t’ quite have the most stable of families, but Val never left just like this. He swore to himself that if he ever see the male again, the choices would be either to kiss him or to kill him. Losing one was heart-breaking enough, he could never bear the thought of losing another. Even when she is a psycho bitch, she is his psycho bitch. And that would never change, no matter what.

It irked him to think that Bella had taken his words seriously and even accompanied her reply with a threat. Sebastian would never report on them, not even if they had set the school on fire. Sure, the three often differ in perspectives and all are equally stubborn but Sebastian would never. This was Belladonna they were talking about, one of his first friends and his best. The girl he spent countless of nights with, the one he had told his concerns to. Anderson would be a completely different story (Sebastian would make sure he didn’t return, if he could), but he would never turn his back on his friends.

Still, he’s pissed. And stressed from Val’s departure. All those feelings mixed up, how does he cope with that? By lashing at someone else, of course, because why not. Sebastian took a step back from the two girls, his trademark cynic smirk plastered on his face.

Sixty-nine points to Hufflepuff! Finally something you got right, eh? Unless perhaps the names of the people you’ve slept with, though might as well get them wrong too because I doubt that brain of yours could contain even as much as a quarter the names of all those men…and women,” Sebastian smirked and nodded towards Bella’s direction, just to make his point. “Don’t feel too bad about yourself though, I doubt even I could remember all those names…well, unless I have the student record book with me though.” He laughed, but it soon faded when his attention entirely shifted towards the other Slytherin girl.

Seriously? What would you take this thing-” Sebastian jabbed his thumb towards the Hufflepuff girl’s direction “for? Tit-shield? I heard they’re very effective, especially as a distraction. You know what? It might be a good idea. Bring the half-breed. Maybe she could give birth to a quarter-breed and spare our planet Earth with a brand new species.

There was something that was definitely off, though. Sebastian wasn’t going to say for sure that he would help if he had known her purpose, but he was sure neither of what she had initially stated (bring Val back, being a hero and putting Anderson to shame) was any of her true motives. No. Belladonna Coben is way slyer than that. She lives up to her name as Queen of Manipulation and the only reason he escaped her grasps was that because he’d seen her use it too much. There was something she’s hiding. Because there was no way she would go through all these effort, especially with the risks of Aurors running wild, expulsion hanging by their doorstep, and whatever is lurking out there. Maybe he wouldn’t go with her, but if he had known why, maybe he would help. If it’s reasonable.

Bells,” Sebastian sighed, all hostility had completely left his expression. “You know you can trust me. I can’t go with you if you don’t tell me the truth.” He can’t believe he’s saying this, this was not his usual self. His usual self would stay behind nonetheless because he couldn’t risk putting his name to shame, regardless the motive. Flashes of images from the night at Hogsmeade returned. Sebastian knew he never asked her; what she was doing at the shops and why she was so desperate. He never got the chance and Val leaving was not helping. Bella is hiding something from him. But he couldn’t afford to lose her. Not now.

Tell me. Why. Tell me the truth, nothing but the truth-” He sucked in a breath. He knew he couldn’t pull it back once he said it, regardless of how ridiculous the truth would be. Sebastian should know a truth when he hears one, even from the most cunning of liars. Because she’s his friend, and he believed he knew her enough.

Tell me and I’ll go with you…” he said, waiting for a moment for her to reply but not after he added, with his casual side-wayed grin back on his face “I mean, I’m pretty sure I’d serve more use than Ms. Tit-Shield here.

Her hand reached up to cover the priceless artefact hanging from her elegant neck. It was a defence mechanism, triggered by her friend's rather blunt questions regarding her motives to go after the beast in the forest. Moments like this made the ache in her heart caused by Val's disappearance even harder to bear. She felt vulnerable, weak, with the stream of uncomfortable questions. The type of questions that Val would've answered for her in the past. Bella wouldn't admit that she thought of him as her protector out loud (after all, she was too good for a bodyguard) but there was no other way to describe their relationship. The barrier separating her from the prejudice against werewolves was gone, and the flames of hell felt closer than ever now that her guardian angel was nowhere to be found.

Sebastian clearly knew what he was doing. Giving his friend a reason to tell the truth for once, letting her know he wasn't as ignorant as she thought he was, and leaving her with two options. Tell the truth and gain a powerful ally, or refuse and lose his abilities and possibly his friendship in the process. The secret, however, was something far bigger than what he expected, and Belladonna new that telling him the truth would lead to an even bigger disaster. The mere thought of her friend turning against her, shouting "you filthy half-breed abomination" over and over again made her guts twist and the back of her eyes burn.

"Is caring for the school too much of a stretch for Belladonna Coben?" The Slytherin blonde asked, but her eyes were fixed on the floor and her fingers clinging to her necklace like a dementor to a human soul. "Maybe I simply care about the environment, or don't want to find a new home after Hogwarts burns to the ground. Not everything has to end with a grand scheme, you know?"

Lying was one of the things she did best, had this been anyone but Sebastian and she would've thrown out the first story she could imagine. But despite her exceptional lying skills, it was still the most predictable thing to do. Sebastian was most likely waiting for her to lie, to come up with some complicated bullshit tale that would disappear as soon as they escaped from the forest. Anything could be interpreted as a lie, and Sebastian would surely storm off in one of his teenage angst festivals and inform a teacher of their crimes as his revenge. As much as it pained her to do so, she knew honesty was the only possible approach to such a delicate situation.

"I was bitten by a werewolf last year. When my parents found out, they disowned me and I told Val just to make myself feel better. He's the only one who knows I turn into a horrid beast every month and we've been hiding this secret thanks to your ignorance for more than twelve months in which you've been too busy fighting Keith to notice your best friends lying to you every day. I need the forest clean of monsters in order to turn without any harm in a week," her voice was cold and carried a slight mocking tone. She paused only to move her gaze from the floor to his eyes to see his reaction. "Satisfied?"

It was a stupid, risky plan. Something most sane students wouldn't even dream of saying in front of one of the most notorious blood supremacist in the whole school. Belladonna, however, had never been mad enough to consider herself sane, yet she was insane enough to consider herself a genius. She was convinced she knew her friend well enough to understand his thoughts and motives most of the time, and hoped he would take the first story that came out of her mouth as nothing more than another lie. Now that she'd said it out loud, it did sound like a cheap arc in one of the low-budget shows the muggles loved to watch. If there was anything that sounded like a lie, it was the werewolf story.

"If you want more details, I will gladly give them to you after- if - we return from the forest. As for now, I think I would much rather help tit-shield over here scout for a team." Belladonna finally acknowledged poor Mila after almost completely ignoring Seb's horrible insults and his usual degrading sexism. "I might just have another reason to go into the woods, but I think I would much rather tell the tale while inside the forest. You can either stay with the werewolf tale, or come with us if you want to listen to the alternative. The clock is ticking, Mr. Blutmond."

In all seriousness, Keith had never expected Val to actually accept his invitation. Surprise was brief on the male's features, shown only in the slight widening of verdant eyes. He was half waiting for a hex joined with a likely chorus of angry curses displaying the Slytherin's colorful range of vocabulary. The spat 'yes' and the warning given despite the dampening connotations caused his hopes to soar. Pearly whites dug down into his inner lower lip, suppressing a wide grin. Despite his best efforts to 'play it cool', Keith was particularly beaming.

"You won't be disappointed," he grinned, words brimming with confidence albeit he had no plan whatsoever in mind. Turns out, Keith made grade A liar and even as Val left, the brunet did not seem to worry about his lack of preparation. He was going to wing it; the worst case scenario leaving Val so utterly disappointed that he refuses to talk to Keith again -- not that it'll ever happen. There was an endless list of ways Keith could surprise him but none of them ended without him getting hexed for the whole week.

Only once the Slytherin turned to leave did Keith bring his hands out from his pockets, making a small reverse fist bump in the air at his little accomplishment. From the look on his face, the boy's day was clearly made just from the simple interaction. Like a school girl, the rush of exhilaration had him almost bouncing back to his friends who were seated at the table. Their plates were filled with whatever they were having for lunch and after piling up his own, he sat himself with them. His genuine happiness was contagious and well-pointed out.

Embarrassed by his own behavior, he chuckled bashfully and changed to the topic at hand. "So this evening before sun down, let's meet up at the base of the woods? We need a prefect though," he sighed, continuing with a wave of his fork, "I've already asked all the ones in my house and yours but they're all too busy. After that fight with Buttmond, going to a Slytherin is out of the question. I was thinking maybe we could ask Runny. How about you ask him, El?" Keith asked, pointing his fork in Elliot's direction.

His hand was tucked under his chin as he shifted the sliced carrots on his plate to the side. "He's more likely to listen to you than me. You'll ask him for me, won't you?"

Sixth Year Prefect | Phyrun Dalca | Ravenclaw
Location: Great Hall, Hufflepuff table

He was suddenly sat at the Hufflepuff table next to his sister and Phyrun was suddenly uncomfortable. He didn't mind First and Second years, let alone Hufflepuffs, but he was not overly comfortable sitting with strangers for meals. He sat at the end of the Ravenclaw table when he could for a reason. When he couldn't he sat in the least crowded portion of the table and ate quickly and silently if someone didn't bug him due to him being a prefect and holding tutoring sessions. Now, to be put into the midst of a house he was not really familiar with beyond his sister's words, he sat stiff and ridged, feigning ease as best he could.

The downside to the situation was that the food appeared as Rachel settled next to him and started talking. Not up to moving to another table just to eat, Phyrun started gathering food, letting Rachel talk and talk with those around her, specifically Pandora. Phyrun realized belatedly that Rachel was talking about everything except Phyrun helping Pandora with classwork and Phyrun glanced at his sister, curious on what she was planning.

He let it be, though, greeting the few Hufflepuff - specifically Prefects - that greeted him in passing before allowing his gaze to move about the hall.

He noted that Keith, Valerius, and Elliot were at the Slytherin table. Phyrun's expression quickly became blank as dread filled him. If those three were together, that meant Keith was plotting something. There was rarely ever a time when those three ever gathered like that for it to be something other than a ploy of some kind.

Phyrun prayed that whatever it was would not involve him or something that was against the rules.

He had a feeling that whatever they were doing was going to just give him a headache.
