Biography
The elder sister to two massive twin brothers, Judyth would've been heir to the Last Hearth if not for her brothers being born. Her mother wasn't the healthiest of women and, after giving birth to Judyth, another child wasn't really expect. Female or not, Judyth was raised as the the future heir to the Umber House. From fighting to court intricacies, from reading to riding, Judyth learned it all. Then when she was she was 6, her role changed from potential heir to teaching the potential heirs. Judith didn't mind as it gave her much more freedom and she loved her brothers. An only child's life was a dull one, after all.

As the eldest child, Judyth Umber had a strong sense of responsibility. Much of her childhood was spent helping their nanny take care of her brothers. Then, when they were old enough, playful spars between sibblings were common. Children born to the Last Hearth had to be strong enough to defend against wildling invaders and any other enemies that came from beyond the wall after all. Judyth's wins became less and less as the boys grew bigger and stronger, though she was still faster and more skillful. By the time they were 10, they were already bigger than her and started to learn how to hunt. By then, Judyth was 16 and of marriageable age and her parents tried to find a suitable spouse for her, though-- much to their chagrin--all the Stark boys of fitting age were either married or betrothed. A suitable situation for Judyth since she had already become infatuated with a young member of the Night's watch by then.

16 year old Clovis Flint, the youngest son of House Flint, had managed to piss his parents off so bad they'd sent him off to the Night's Watch. As the only boy her age to have beaten her in a fight, they became best friends. Often went on adventures together. Judyth would've followed Clovis to the night's watch if she could, but, alas, being a woman, she had to settle for bringing in snacks and gifts every so often. Due to Last Hearth being one of the more northernmost houses, just short of the Night Watch castles, the Umber family were frequent donators to the Night's Watch. Her father was also friends with the Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, so she got a lot of leeway for visiting, though he he called her a vile temptress every time she showed up. A horrible beguiler for his men. Indeed, Judyth's arrival generally heralded a bit of chaos as horny, lonely men flocked to impress. Eventually some clued in that she only had an interest for Clovis. Others still tried. However, one day, Clovis was sent on reconnaissance mission with some of his Brothers of he Watch and hadn't been heard from since. Months passed until, eventually, his body was found and ravens carrying the news of his death spread.

Devastated, Judyth lost interest in boys, and began to focus on a future without Clovis, who was the only boy she'd intended to marry. When she wasn't hunting with her father, or answering the call against wildling raids, she interacted with those who worked their family's lands and learned how to manage a household. She tended to the sheep, shoveled snow, and helped out where she could. Out in the colds of the North, rich or poor, everyone had to help out against the coming Winter if they wanted to survive. Not that the Umbers were an especially rich noble house to begin with. Yet her mother was adamant in finding her a husband. From the Maester her mother hired, Judyth learned music, art, history, law, philosophy, without much protest. Anything to keep her mind from wandering to dangerous places. Even if she wasn't especially good at any of the subjects, a lady ought know the basics, or so her mother insisted. How else was she supposed to find a good man?

Granted, she was certain her father and brothers played a large part in scaring many suitors away.

Judyth found her greatest joy in interacting with the merchants that arrived along the bay of Seals. She liked listening to their stories and dreamed of have an adventure all on her own. At 22, when her brothers (Jon and Jarl) were old enough to take charge of the Last Hearth on their own, she went with a family friend, Dalton Reed, on his excursion to Essos. It was the the most enriching experience of her life. She ended staying a little longer than intended to work in the Iron Bank of Braavos, learning more about finance, and discovering her knack for numbers. Perhaps it was because her family had never been especially rich, but Judyth found the concept of using money to make money very thrilling. At 24, she moved back to the North, bought her own ship (The Giant's Lover), hired a hardy crew of Norhernmen, and started to trade wares. Mostly furs and jewlery, though she sometimes deals in weapons and livestock.

Other
She won't marry someone unless they beat her in a fight (more in memory of Clovis than caring about the physical strength of her partner). Even then, they'd probably have to go through her brothers and her father to become welcomed in the Umber house. So most men keep away.

Her talents lie in finance, military strategy, riding, and swordsmanship.

She stands 5'9'' tall and can hold her liquor fairly well.

She knows many merchants in White Harbor and has an amiable relationship with with Manderly house, in addition to connections in Essos and the Iron Bank.

A good portion of her funds go to the Umber House and the Night's Watch.

Umber motto: Unfettered we rise

Lord of Brightwater Keep
[/div]

[/div][/div][/div][div class=fyuri11parent][div class=fyuri11content]
Appearance: Slouched on the cushioned chair that had become almost second nature to the man, Imry seemed shorter than he would've otherwise been. A lithesome figure and freckled face completed the rather boyish look, and yet anyone that gazed into those deep hazel eyes, beyond that comely visage couldn't help but feel a strange eeriness, as if something was quite out of place.
Age: Two-and-thirty
Sex: Male
Marital Status: Widowed
Family Tree:
N/A
Biography: Little is known about Ser 'Nugget' of Brightwater, nicknamed as such for his famed 'eccentricities' and his rather obvious disability. As a teenager Imry showed much promise, impressing the household master-at-arms with his prowess with the practice sword. There exists numerous rumors about how it was that this young lordling managed to loose all feeling below the torso, some say it was retribution from the stranger for forcefully taking a woman's maidenhead, other's say it was his late wife, a lowborn woman many considered to be a witch, one that had cursed him and his house before taking her own life. Others still, claim that it was simply a result of nature, after all many suspected that the child was the product of incest.

Name
Erich Reyne

Sex
Male

Age:
23

Marital Status
Betrothed to Ysabel Baratheon

Family
Father:
Gawen Reyne (Deceased)

Mother:
Celia Reyne

Biography
Alyn was the result of many, many years of Lord Reyne trying desperately to have a child. It seemed that Lady Selyse was barren, or at least that's what Gawen convinced himself of. In reality, he had a bad case of syphilis from his younger days, something that would eventually catch up to the Lord. As such, Alyn was coddled by his father, treated as perfect and infallible, something Selyse did her best to mitigate by being an actual parent for the boy. Gawen was not a good father, and often spent weeks away from home, with Alyn mainly being taught by his uncle, Justyn. This, mixed with his father being a bit of a I'm uncultured, led to Erich becoming incredibly hot-tempered. He was an absolute hellion, constantly getting into brawls with fellow boys, or sneaking out at night go have a pint at the tavern. And when he became of age, having a night with a wench or two at the tavern. He did everything he could to piss his father off, which he always did. Up until Gawen went quite mad. Finally succumbing to his past debauchery, the Lord of Castemere was locked away, and after a few years with his wife acting in his place, the man passed in his sleep, and Erich was given control of the family's estate. While still the firey man he's always been, he has become somewhat more responsible, and does intend to settle down once he marries his betrothed, Ysabel Baratheon, for the sake of his mother. The engagement is quite recent, having been arranged about two years ago.

Other
-Despite being an infamous womanizer and skirt chaser, Erich never shirks from his duty to defend a lady in need. Many a drunk have gotten quite the thrashing from Erich after insulting a Lady's honor.

-Erich loves anything physical, and as such is quite the swordsman and jouster.

-Erich is very adamant about paying a whore after using her services, and will kick the shit out of anyone too cheap to do it.

-Erich is insistent that he can drink any man in the Westerlands under the table. If this is true is yet to be seen.

» THE MASTER OF LAWS;
Name: Brynden Oakheart
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 43
Gender: Male

Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Brown
Marital Status: Twice married, newly widowed

» appearance;
Brynden is tall and quite fit, having a past in training to be a knight. He is muscular, though a bit soft in the gut from drinking. His dark hair is long and smooth, washed well and often disheveled from his hands running through them in thought. His dark eyes are shaded by a semi-pronounced brow, though it only succeeds in giving him a noble looking appearance; like the dashing knight of a storybook. He keeps his beard well trimmed. Brynden wears simple clothes most of the time, nothing too fancy or intricate, but will dress up when the need calls for it. His forearms are well defined, and his hands calloused and large. More often than not he looks annoyed at most people, if not totally unforgiving in his expression. He figures himself the smartest guy in the room at all times. Smug, but calculated.

» family;

Brandon Oakheart;
father, Lord of Old Oak - living
Mother (name tbd)
Bryce Oakheart; older brother - living
Ser Derrick Oakheart; older brother, Knight of the Reach, "Derrick the Dauntless" - living
Alerie Fossoway; First wife - deceased
Janna Fossoway; Second wife - deceased

» skills;

Mastery of philosophy, law and a dabbling of linguistics
Strong, sturdy, and agile on his feet
Strong constitution, usually drinks most people under the table; but prone to getting exceptionally drunk as a consequence
A tendency for manipulation, but a strong sense of what he deems justice and what the books deem as justice (as well as the differences between the two)

» biography;
Brynden was the youngest of three sons, all of which had their purpose in life. Bryce Oakheart was sturdy and young, no doubt set to be sitting in Old Oak for many years to come. His oldest son he trained to be next in line, an heir on all accounts. Bryce was handsome and charismatic, but had a special aptitude for lording. His middle son made his own way in life, carving prestige into the Reach through enviable successes in knighthood. He was chivalrous and honorable, perfect for his role. Brynden, on the other hand, wasn't quite sure what he wanted in life. His father held a certain amount of pride in the young man, and with it an expectation of being just as gregarious and triumphant as the other Oakheart boys. It was an intimidating level of pressure, but Brynden took it in stride. When he was younger, and more susceptible, he decided to follow in Derrick's footsteps and strive for knighthood. There was some honor to that, and well it wasn't original but it had enough dignity to keep father pleased.

Puberty corrupted the youth into something of a menace. Being a squire for some fat, lumpy old knight did nothing for the boy. Authority irked him and he was starting fights with the servant boys. As well, he found himself spending more time talking to the younger girls in the stands, honing his craft of flirtation. He was chastised frequently for this, and soon began to avoid tourneys at all costs. Brynden found himself indoors more, perhaps to avoid the gossip, and in turn found himself in his father's study. Books aplenty, and ledgers lined the walls and tables. Not intent on breaking the news to his father yet, he instead stuck his nose in these books. There he found his specialty. It turns out the boy had a brilliant mind, but not one meant for being an errand boy or abiding by a moral code. Morals were subjective, in the grand scheme of good and bad. Brynden found comfort in laws, and the written legality of the land. He was also intrigued by philosophy, and a plethora of other challenging topics for the boy. There was no room for wiggling what was written in stone to him. Part of him wondered if becoming a Maester was the path for him, but the idea of not having sex ever again steered him right off the path. Something administrative, however.

By the time he was in his late teens he met the woman his parents had set up for him. A pretty gal, with bushy red hair and a bigger set of teeth. Alerie Fossoway, though he was anything but attracted to her. She laughed too loud and she had uneven breasts. His attention was instead drawn to her younger sister, who was much more pleasing to the eyes. Soft brown hair, small waist and a long neck. She was elegant, and Alerie was a stumbling fool. Brynden was ashamed to be seen with his betrothed, but he faked his interest all the way till marriage. What good would it be to bring any more scrutiny on his head? His first egregious act of hypocrisy was breaking the vow of marriage by pursuing Alerie's younger sister. They kept it hush, but he had a sense that Alerie found out at some point.

It became all the more tragic when Alerie tragically perished. In the middle of the night, fool that she was, she tumbled down the stairs and cracked her head like an egg. The family mourned, Brynden especially. He stayed in his room for two days with no contact, and when he came out, he tearfully pledged to wed the younger sister and honor Alerie's memory. He spoke highly of his late wife, and especially of how much she approved of the closeness that Brynden and Janna had. They wed within the year, and he was pleased with the circumstances much more now. Content, perhaps.

(sosomsething about working in court maybe? idk been in KL for a while perhaps)

He took his job more seriously at this point, and all things outside began to blur. Janna complained of his lack of tact, and his loss of love to her. She cried most nights, and he wasn't surprised when she stayed late out in the night. Where she was, he did not know. He did not care. They had an argument the night before she died, before she tragically threw herself off a balcony and landed face down in the waters below. Her suicide was very tragic, and Brynden mourned. He spent two days in his room with no contact, and when he came out, he said nothing on the subject. He sent a raven to her family to express the bad news, coloring the picture a bit to portray her becoming sick with some disease of the brain, and that being the cause of her death. Well, for all he knew, perhaps that was the truth. She was acting a bit mad before... her fall.

He has been devoted to his job since, perhaps more so in learning in the ways that a Master of Law can bend the law to his own degree. Brynden frequently drinks and occasionally sneaks away to a brothel or two. He has yet to take another wife, and perhaps he may never.

NAME Clea.

SEX Female.

AGE Unknown.

MARITAL STATUS Unmarried.

FAMILY Unknown. Clea claims her father is a prince from the Summer Isles, but has never cited a specific name, or even a particular island.

BIOGRAPHY When Clea took her first breath, her mother took her last. She was born in a brothel of ill repute and, disinterested in the newborn baby, the owner of the establishment tossed Clea into the streets just after the corpse of her mother. Said streets were where she remained throughout her childhood and early adolescence, kept alive by her own resilience and self-sufficiency. She learned tricks from fleeting friends, including how to cut a man's coinpurse from his belt, how to be the most pitiful beggar on the street, how to cheat and lie and steal and blackmail and barter. Her nights were spent huddled in doorways or, when she could convince an altruistic owner to allow her to, curled up under tables in shops and taverns.

It was a terrifying, dangerous life, but it made Clea feel alive. Her ability to provide for herself brought her a lot of pride, but her lifestyle was bound to catch up with her eventually. Which was how she met Gwayne Kettleblack. Previous experiences had taught her to be weary of men, especially those who offered so much, but she took a chance: he had, after all, potentially saved her life. There was money in it too, a lot more than the few pennies she'd been exchanging for whatever she'd been approached for in the past when she slunk through darkened alleys at night.

And Clea, more than a family to belong to or a roof over her head, had always wanted to have nice things.

BISCUIT TBD.

OTHER
- Clea claims that her apparent heritage is the source of her sexual prowess.
- When visiting her it is advisable to keep an eye on your valuables.
- Her early life has made her a brilliant liar and manipulator.

Celia
(Celie, Seedling)
Female
18
Single

Family

Aalya (mother; deceased)
Elmar (father; deceased)

Biography

Elmar was a brave warrior who gave his life to the service of his king and gods. This was all she ever knew of her father. The terribly brave man who left his widow and child alone with nothing but terrible debts. In the beginning her mother did everything she could to ensure their survival. She bartered what little they had, and when that wasn’t enough, she bartered herself. Celia did her best to get money however she could though the most profitable manner remaining pickpocketing. Something about her wide eyes pouted lip made people too trusting of her. During their underestimation of her she’d rob them of all she could carry. For a while this worked. They survived. To this day Celia hasn’t the faintest idea what happened only one day her mother was there, and the next she wasn’t. All she could assume was that grief and a broken heart had done her in. The next year was the hardest that she’d ever faced and many nights she slept with an empty aching stomach. She secured herself a job at a tavern for a few weeks before she got caught picking the wrong pocket and had to make herself disappear. Celia found herself exhausted. Tired of starving, tired of running, tired of hurting. So she did the only other thing she could think of and whored herself. It was a small price to pay—this invasion of her womanhood for coin. For a place to rest her head. For a full belly. For compliments that were so false it was easy to pretend they rang true. It was not the life her parents would have wanted for her but they’re dead. And she’s a whore.

Standing at 6'0 with a thin gaunt frame, combined with his pale bordering on I'll complexion it has been said that most of the reported phantoms seem about the Dreadfort have in fact just been half glimpses of Lord Bolton walking down a corridor.

He began losing his hair a few years ago, and instead of fighting a losing battle has shaved his head ever since, instead compensating with the now white goatee that graves his chin.

Biography

The Seven Kingdoms certainly present an interesting story of continuity. The Lannisters, Starks, Arryns, and Martels all holding onto their holdings in the face of invasions and turmoil. Even the Hoares and Durrandons were only thrown down by Dragons, and their successors have ruled ever since. And through it all they've maintained their honour. Our Starks for example, Kings and now Lords of the North, the embodiment of stoicism and good stewardship, the smallfolk look upon them with wide eyes and tell tales of the lives they laid down protecting them from sharks, grumkins and other more tangible threats.

But how have they managed this? Emerging from centuries of rule with hardly a black stain against their name. The answer is quite simple really, in front of your nose even. Me… or at least the family. For every knight in shining armour in the vanguard, you need a man with a dirk and a hammer doing the dirty work, getting the dirt work done so that the high lords can continue to pat themselves on the back with their dreamy aspirations of chivalry and virtue. They wouldn’t get far without us, clearing the muck beneath their ivory towers. But someone has to, and it just so happens it's what we excel at. So the Starks have given us a wide berth, they turn their noses up at us, the pink savages to the east. But they leave us be, they know better than to turn upon those that help keep the status quo, the lords on their thrones, and the peasants in the field Most smallfolk wouldn’t recognise a Snark or Grumpkin if it came to their door, but they still tremble when a flayed man looms over the horizon. We don’t ask for glory or praise, no songs are sung in great halls about us, but we have no need of such trinkets.

Other

Rickard has ruled the Dreadfort for some 30 years now, serving 2 generations of Starks now. He is not a great warrior, or even a good one to be honest, even in his prime, which is behind him now. He is not the richest Northern Lord (that most likely falls to the Manderlys with their control of White Harbour) and he doesn’t have the finest castle or holdings.. Instead he is the Stark’s enforcer, a rabid hound that constantly tugs at the chain that keeps it in place. There are whispers of men, whether they be bandits or just smallfolk in the wrong time and place, still flayed in the deepest depths of the Dreadfort. Of the practise of First Night still practised within Rickard’s lands. And even talk of foul witchcraft and magics taking place, of unearthly sounds and cries echoing from the towers and turrets of his castle. However who is to say whether these are true or not, the ramblings of superstitious peasants, rumours spread by Lord Bolton himself to keep up appearances, or perhaps at the bottom of such rumours and tales, a seed of truth.

Rickard was never a warrior, enough skills about him to see of a bandit or ruffian, but he neither had the inclination, or the physical stature to be one for combat. Why risk it all in one to one combat when the war can be won by afar, far cheaper, and far less foolish.

Rickard has 3 children, two by his now deceased wife Bethany, his second born and heir Rogar (22), and his daughter Lyanna (20). He also has a bastard born son, Elric (30), his mother being a serving woman in the Dreadfort, a leftover of Rickard’s younger days. When Rogar came of age, Elric took the black, but was reportedly killed by Wildlings between Moletown and Castle Black, only bloodstains and scattered luggage being left on the road, of the bodies of Elric and his party there were no signs.

Biography
The only son in a line of daughters, Markus dreamed of being a knight once. A chivalrous knight that protected his sisters, saved damsels, and swept them off their feet. Inspired by his sisters' ideals ideals of how a knight should act, perhaps he simply wanted to live up to their expectations. Squired by Ser Darth Ashford, Markus became a knight of Ashford at the age of 14. He was also engaged to Lady Claire Ashford who he was deeply in love with. All was going well with the Ashfords, at least until he discovered his lord's more sadistic tendencies.

Children. Young boys taken of the streets and subjected to the man's heinous whims. Then they were killed so they could never speak a word of it. Horrified when he found out, Markus went to his fellow knights only learn that they'd known all along and simply turned the other way. Even Claire was aware, but chose to ignore her father's evil habits. Markus wouldn't have it. How could a knight, who had sworn to uphold good and protect the weak, turn a blind eye? In order to save the young victim's life, 17-year old Markus challenged his Lord to a duel.

And won.

However, house politics would ultimately come into play. The Ashfords denied the fairness of the duel, charging Markus with assaulting his lord, and the matter was taken to court in the Red Keep. They wanted blood for blood. It was only his family's influence that kept him from the black cells (or maybe death), but he was he was shamed and stripped of his knighthood.

That was 10 years ago.

Markus has changed since then, devoting himself to his duties as sole heir of the Rowan house. After his aging father died, Markus took over the man's lands, titles, and fortune, becoming the next lord of Goldengrove.

Other
His sisters are all named after flowers.

The Rowan family motto is "Planted in Gold"

Despite no longer being a knight, he is still well versed in swordplay. Old habits die hard.

He has good coordination, dances well, and can play two musical instruments: the vielle and the lute.

If it isn't obvious, House Rowan and House Ashford don't have a very good relationship.

He and Judyth have a mutual acquaintance in Talwin Nestoris.
