It also enables him to be an excellent brainstormer, using his thinking abilities to analyse problems from every angle to find the best solutions.

After he died, Joshua couldn't remember the death itself. It was almost like he blinked for a little bit too long and then all the sudden, he was in this dark room with a man standing before him. The man told him that he was the ruler of the underworld, King Yeomna, and that he had been waiting for him. He then explained to him that because of his crimes on Earth, he would be brought back to help guide spirits down Hwangcheon Road to the afterlife. Now, you’d think the thing that would’ve confused him the most would’ve been the fact that he was standing before the ruler and King of the underworld. But that wasn’t the thing that confused him; it was what sin did he commit? Upon entering the darkroom, it was like someone had pulled out one of those mind erasers from Men in Black. Hell, he didn’t even know his name or his age – where was he from, what did he like to do? He felt like an empty canvas.

King Yeomna sent him back to Earth, explaining to him that he would meet some other Jeonseung Saja’s (Grim reapers – which was what he was to be also) that would prepare him through his first initial training before he was assigned a new location. So, he was sent back to Earth and found himself in Sydney, Australia. There, he met Matthew and John who went through the first initial training with him. During this training, he had the opportunity to create a new name and learn the absolute bare basics of being a reaper. Three months in, he was ready to be located in a new area with new mentors. In fact, he could potentially be able to do his first real reaping by himself, never having the chance to actually do one but rather watch the Golden Reapers do it.
