What if there was more than meets the eye?
What if this world was just a preview of what might come next?
On the news there had been disappearances around the world. Some would come back within the next few days without a memory of what had happened during the time they were not on Earth. They tried to figure out the puzzle and even did tests on these people in order to regain what they had lost but nothing worked. The short time span of those days couldn’t be retrieved as if there was something more than the brain blocking their path. Eventually they moved on from these happenings and got back to work and their families/friends. After a few months of these happenings, it stopped as fast as it started. Glad that people didn’t have to panic anymore yet the curiosity stayed. The curiosity of wanting to know where they went and what they had seen. Some said it were aliens, others said it was a magical force and others just believed that they ran away to get some attention out of it. Though the last one didn’t make sense as some people just disappeared on the streets.
One day however, the government discovered something. The people who vanished all visited a particular shop spread around the world. Opened by one particular woman. The shop was nothing special, just a small building which had peculiar objects in it. Almost looking like one of the older times. With dusty old books, small bottles with almost magical fluids in it [mainly because they had a weird colour], a chest that was on the top shelf which the contents were unknown about, and a lot more. There were even some board games people could use as there were some tables in the back of the building. Because of the fantasy-like interior, some people had fun going there and became regulars at the place. However the shop had closed up the moment the happenings stopped.
Now, years later, in 2019, the shop reopened in Tokyo, Japan. The woman didn’t seem to have aged during the time it was closed, even if it was 10 years later. A welcoming sign was put out in front of the building but only at one place this time. The others were sold as it wasn’t used anymore nor the documents were to be found or destroyed because they had a suspicion that it was bad luck to go there.
