Hiro was born a sweet-natured man. However, he does not think of himself as such. In fact, Hiro believes he plays by the rules out of selfish reasons: simply because it is easier. In a sense, this is true; the man is quite lazy, and you can catch him dozing off at any chance he gets. He is quick to take the easy route, and thus compromising has become second nature to him. However, this indifferent, lethargic nature can seriously strain his relationships with others. For example, he may appear to be distant and cold to his companions, when in reality he is looking out for everyone’s best interests. Moreover, Hiro’s habit of handing off the spotlight makes it easy for him to become a target of under-appreciation.

Still, this laid-back nature does come with advantages. For one, the man has a good sense of humor, and doesn’t take much to heart. Though he rarely laughs loudly, if Hiro howls at your joke, know that you are on your way to becoming a hit comedian. Also, he is honest. Brutally so, but honest nonetheless. It's probably nearly incapable of this man to lie to those who he likes.

Moreover, Hiro is unconditionally loyal to his friends. He shows his affection in strange, unassuming ways, and defends his companions in the same, subtle way. This can definitely create misunderstandings between him and his loved ones, but after a heart-to-heart talk, his good intentions will get across in no time.

While in school, the man was pretty quiet and unconcerned with others' affairs. He always had his friends to be loud for him. However, as the years went by and the group started to separate, Hiro found himself having to take positions of leadership quite often. Take, for example, his job as a sous-chef at his brother's restaurant. When his brother left to become a celebrity chef, this role naturally made Hiro more extroverted and outgoing. Even though his older brother was the superstar and the sole reason people came to the restaurant for a time, soon, girls began flocking around the restaurant because of Hiro and his good looks. The modest fan club he garnered was enough to make him start smiling more and gain new customers. Though, none of the warmth he displays is ever as genuine as his true, colorful personality around his closest friends.

Hiro is Fujikawa Gorou and Nagano Mei’s youngest son, and the unfortunate younger brother of the celebrity chef Fujikawa Genzo. Although his parents couldn’t be sweeter, Hiro has forever lived in the shadow of his rather self-important older brother. On top of always having to be the “quiet” one to appease his noisier sibling, Hiro has the tragic fate of having the same passion as Genzo: the culinary arts. His brother’s success as a chef brought him to a celebrity status, while Hiro chose to confine his skills to a local restaurant in Fukuyama. In some way, this turn of events is beneficial for the simple Hiro, who prefers to live behind the spotlight than in it. However, it isn’t so lovely when people only visit your restaurant in hopes of meeting the famous older brother, and turn to leave in an instant upon only seeing Hiro (though, this changes years later). On top of that, his parents have a habit of praising their eldest a bit excessively, often overlooking the talents of their youngest without knowing it.

As for his school life, the boy was always infamous for sleeping through many classes. Still, Hiro knew when to pay attention and prepare for tests, so he wasn’t too behind compared to his peers. Additionally, the boy never sought out trouble, staying far away from bullies and bad influences to live a quiet school life. Growing up with the others and constantly being thrown in with their colorful personalities, however, put him in the spotlight quite a few times. For example, if any of his friends were being bothered by the school bully, Hiro would have to intercept for them. He was the “silent guardian” of the group, in a sense. Always encouraging the other three, it was no wonder the boy felt such a responsibility for/attachment to the others. Thus, when one of his best friends left the group, the separation hit him hard.

The move to another city left him devastated. Nothing has ever been the same, since [friend 1] was one of the key ingredients in holding the four together. Being easily misunderstood, a few events happened that snowballed into a distancing between him and the others. Feeling frustrated with being unable to get his feelings across, Hiro separated himself from the other two naturally over the five years that passed. He became more outgoing and independent, trying to forget the pain that the group's distancing had caused.

Interestingly however, as it just so happens, the restaurant Hiro works at is in need of a skilled patissier, and is willing to pay the newcomer quite a bit for taking up the job. When that newcomer happens to be someone very close to him, the wheels of fate start to turn once more…

the past
biography // during his early childhood, takashi struggled to make friends because of his strange personality. he enjoyed watching from the sidelines instead of running around and getting dirty, always worried that his mother would have too much work to do. he was calm and friendly, the exact personality that a son needed to develop for a mother with that condition. he didn't necessarily understand what was wrong with her, but he knew that she couldn't push her body too much or she would be in pain and that made the young boy sad. takashi wanted to make sure his mother would be proud of him and wanted her to smile, so he became a model being.
as a teenager, takashi was always a rather shy guy. he was nerdy and never thought of himself as a lady's man. instead, he studied frequently and avoided confrontation with the girls he found attractive for the sake of his own dignity. there was nothing better than a good book to immerse himself in, losing himself in a world where there were no popularity contests. the teen tended to be the father of the group and encouraged everyone to do what they dreamed with a positive attitude. there was never any negativity on the outside, and although there was plenty of pressure on his shoulders he remained the one that everyone leaned on when anyone was going through a rough time.despite being in love with one of his close friends, he never said a word and instead focused on keeping their relationships intact.
after high school, he promised the others that they would all stay in touch and continued to ensure that they could give him a call if they needed any type of help. however, college was so different and he was easily lost in the everyday occurrences of the academic atmosphere and since tomomi had moved it was just not the same anymore. he let communications fade with his peers and found himself going through many personality adaptations. the world was suddenly about who was the best, not who was the nicest. everything was so competitive and he found himself being more and more cunning to make sure he was the top pick when it came to medical school. he was determined to sacrifice anything and everything to make sure that his mother would have all that she deserved.
as an adult, takashi is a very self-centered guy with a rather high maintenance personality. after having gone through several relationships and several professional circumstances where his kindness was withered away, the once sappy boy is unrecognizable. he no longer wears nerdy glasses every day and doesn't offer his coat to every person who doesn't have an umbrella when it rains. instead, he pushes people to do his bidding, enjoying the luxuries that his job has provided him. he hasn't spoken with his friends in a long time and can't even remember what some of them look like without going through his desk to look over old pictures. he is very much the definition of a boring high-functioning adult. however, there is still an old piece of him buried deep in his heart that could unravel at any moment for the right person.

  i. in a world where you have to provide for yourself, anyone would learn not to be entirely dependant on others to keep them on their feet. keeping in mind that akina had also been left alone as a young teenager, she has had to fend for herself in every foreseeable way. she's very much a person who is overly independent. akina's not exactly adverse to taking help, she simply just doesn't want to rely on someone who may be there one day and not the next. she relied fully on three people in her life, and it absolutely sucked when they were gone. she never wants to feel that pain again.
  
  ii. even though akina appears to be a slightly steely shut-off person, it's actually quite the opposite. she's got one fiery personality. she is rather passionate and has a short fuse at times. she gets into a lot of arguments and never really lets up. if she feels someone is doing her wrong or judging her lifestyle, then she has no issue speaking up for what she believes in. she’s always got that spark.

  matsuo shirane was a seventeen-year-old student when she got pregnant with akina. unfortunately, she passed away shortly after giving birth to her. there were complications over who would take the child under their name, and eventually akina was left with her grandparents, muto and ebina shirane. her birth father, being seventeen too, had wanted nothing to do with her. and the name shirane was forever tarnished because of matsuo's early pregnancy.
  
  for the majority of her childhood, akina was more interested in finding out who her birth parents were, rather than finding out who she was. any child was clever enough to point out that her grandparents were too old to be her parents. and although akina grew up without them, she never felt like there was a part of her missing because it was her grandparents that acted as her true parents.
  
  akina was always typically quirky around new people, and if you compared her present self to her past self, anyone would be quite shocked with the difference in appearance and persona. going from a typical growing and naive school girl to a carefree and suave upcoming model was definitely a huge step for her. in a way, she believes that if not for her friends, she might have just stayed that eccentric girl, but as she aged, her feelings developed and the little crush she had on takashi in high school made her change.
  
  the signs weren't evident, as many thought she was just simply 'experimenting' whenever she'd turn up wearing a dark shade of lipstick or have her hair styled completely different. eventually, this changed from trying to impress a crush to akina wanting to feel confident about herself. and soon, she was looking more into fashion, make-up and modelling.

tomomi is the only daughter of the popular young adult fiction writer koizumi kasumi and the well-respected surgeon kobayashi daisuke. she has four brothers (akira, ren, aoi, and arata) and is the second youngest. contrary to what one might think, growing up in a house full of boys actually made her embrace her feminine side more. since her family was quite well off, tomomi was usually granted anything she asked for. it made her feel indebted to her parents in a way, and she did her best to be a good daughter to please them. her father was happy to see his precious baby girl in her pretty pink dresses, and her mother always smiled when she helped out in the kitchen. she formed an attachment to baking from a young age, and the activity is very much so a personal and emotional pursuit for her.

“momo-chan” was the perfect princess at school too, and one of those people who was popular mainly because it was near impossible to dislike her. caught up in maintaining a pristine image, tomomi didn’t really know herself because she had always restrained herself. she unconsciously seeked out other kids who looked like they could use a friend: the boy whose face would get drawn on whenever he fell asleep, ____female 2_____, and _____male 1_____. as time went on, these kids would become her best friends. but at first, she didn’t really prioritize them over her other friends, at least not until the beginning of high school. that was when she grew to feel suffocated by the high expectations that she had put on herself, and these three were the only ones she felt like she could show all of herself to.

when it came to her friends, tomomi was the peacemaker. she was always the one to smooth things over whenever they had a disagreement. she actively facilitated emotion-heavy talks between them in order to make sure they stayed open with each other (even if she was the one repressing her worries everyday). and whenever they got into shenanigans around town, she did her best to make sure they stayed safe and out of trouble.

perhaps the only thing tomomi has a passion for is baking; although she’s good at other things, nothing quite matched the satisfaction she got from mastering a recipe. she chose to attend culinary school with hiro, and impressed one of her teachers to the extent that he offered her a position as a pâtissier at his famous bakery. it was a great opportunity; the only problem was, the bakery was in another city. still, tomomi took the offer. when would she get such a good deal in such a specific occupation again? as it turns out, the answer was five years later, and the princess is returning home...

the simplest way to describe her is: a sweetheart with a nit-picky streak. well, nit-picky might be an understatement. she tries her best to keep it under control, but tomomi is naturally detail-oriented and an incessant perfectionist - especially with herself. everything she does has to be flawless. in her vocabulary, mediocre is basically synonymous with shitty. she realizes that her expectations for herself are just a tad unreasonably high, so she tries to keep it low for other people. however, this mindset just results in feelings of superiority over almost everyone else. it’s fine, though, because momo is an absolute angel as far as most are concerned. it’s pretty clear that she’s a kind person who loves helping others. on top of this she has a cute aura; she’s shy and very easily flustered, blushing pink down to her chest. she doesn’t swear and will pout disapprovingly when she hears someone else casually curse.

despite being childlike in these regards, tomomi is otherwise motherly to the point that some will say she has a stick up her butt. the accusation isn’t unjustified. whether she’s anxious about a group project or the wellbeing of a friend, momo is a worrywart who will nag and nag and say “i told you so” without hesitation. still, at the end of all the nerves, she’s a diligent partner and friend who will do everything in her power to cushion the fall.

something unexpected that tomomi displays is a bunch of nervous energy. she’s especially tense when she has something troubling on her mind, hopping on the balls of her feet, clenching and unclenching her fists, bouncing her leg, biting her nails, and clicking pens. she’s a ball of energy, a neat freak, and a chronic multitasker. it’s not too much of a stretch to say that she has four to-do lists revolving in her head at all times. getting her to completely relax is a feat that only a few people can accomplish. she feels like if she’s not constantly on top of her game then how is she going to achieve her ambitions and compete on “hell’s kitchen” someday? one day, gordon ramsey. one day.

maeda umeko (2008-2012) - a high school fling that turned into a serious relationship, tomomi and umeko had been friends for years prior. they tried to keep up a long distance relationship after tomomi moved away. things fizzled after about a year, and umeko ended things when she met someone new.​

akiyama kohaku (2012-2014) - he was a friend who’d had a crush on her since they met in the city. he helped her get through the breakup with umeko, and his kindness won her over. it was all sunshine and rainbows, and they were practically joined at the hip. however, that changed when work became more demanding, and kohaku turned stiflingly clingy. she tried to let him down gently, but they still left each other on bad terms.​

kurosawa katsu (2016-present) - katsu is tomomi’s pastry chef senpai and her dream guy, so imagine her happiness when he finally noticed her charms. unfortunately, katsu also seems to be everyone else’s dream guy. she’s insecure about their relationship, and it’s definitely taken its toll. when tomomi announced that she would be moving away, katsu told her that it would be a good opportunity for them to “take some time away and reevaluate what they want before seeing each other again.” so what’s going on with them? your guess is as good as tomomi’s.​

This twenty-something year-old is helpful or at least tries to be. The female does like to help people as she knows it'll benefit her in the future even if she didn't exactly. Often, Moe is helping someone to the best of her ability no matter their reputation to be completely honest as she firmly believes that everyone needs a hand at something no matter how they treat her or anyone for that matter. Considerate is something that you can certainly describe Moe in one word in a good way, per say. She often tries not to hurt anyone's feelings so they won't cry because if they cry, she ends up becoming a sorry waterfall and now you'll have to calm her down instead. But, moving on when trying to confess or confront someone Moe beats around the bush even though a lot of people prefer her not to. She just can't help it she doesn't want to come on them to hard that might be too much for them. But going too soft will have them hopeful for something else someone would usually say in response. In the end, she still beated around the bush with a hint of being a bit forward. Confronting and confessing are not her forte at all.

Moe was told from her father that being loyal was key to making a relationship with someone and keeping it sticking with you for years to come. She sticks by the people she's close to and often never on her own side but it's a different story when it's two people that she cares deeply for. Those are the times where she's on her own side or no side at all as she believes this has nothing to do with her even if it does. But nonetheless, Moe stays on her close one's side when it comes to arguments with other people. It's like when one of her friends hates someone she knows nothing about. At times, Moe hates them to because you hate them but another part of her still wants to help them if their having trouble. Surprisingly, Moe is pretty patient. She can wait a pretty long time though it doesn't mean she's going to wait half the day, instead she'll probably go do something else and try not to get lost but generally, she'll get lost anyways which ends up busying herself as she tries to find her way back. Though, Moe is able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious no matter how long it takes it's like waiting for someone to get ready she'll be the one on the couch asleep while everyone left to go do something else.

Moe also has a very low self esteem, also one of the reasons why she helps people. Because of how people perceive her, she often is seen as a pushover and a person who is very gullible. Because of this, Moe often takes herself for granted, often always putting her loved ones and people around her in front of her, often downgrading herself in compliments and generally tries to make those who surround her seem better than her, often making her seem like she is prude or a person who fishes for compliments. Being easily flustered is also particularly quite common for her. She is often has pink tint running on her cheeks, especially when she's called " Chubby " or when she gets commented on her body, generally when it's in public or laughed at. Those two nicknames are something that often embarrass her and cause her to become flushed, often lowering her self esteem and value. However, a lot of things get her frazzled like when falls in front of someone or a lot of people. Dropping her things, bumping into someone the list goes on and on along with going in front of the class you can just see her face slowly turn redder and redder as seconds pass. As a result, many people (including her doctor) conclude that she has social anxiety, especially when it comes to talking with other strangers. Moving on, Moe also tends to be quite possessive and clingy toward those she loves, often making sure they feel well and can often make someone feel suffocated, but it's all because of her trust issues towards others, especially those who are not as close to her. For example, she may have a mutual friend that she may be friendly to, but she will often be apologizing and asking if they are fine, even if she may seen quite torn up. However, Moe will back down when someone tells her to but keeps a watchful eye on that person, making sure that they don't backstab her or leave her as she is.

Moe is one of the two daughters of Kaneshiro Hisashi, a small Kimono shop owner and Sakurako Abe, a children's book author who was popular for one of her novels amongst children. Hisashi and Sakurako had a rather average income asa family of four, including Moe, her sister Mei and them. However, their children were the ones who were quite peculiar. Both sisters were very different from each other, with different hobbies, different skills and often looked like cousins more than close sisters, which oddly enough brought them closer rather than farther apart. However, many differences between them often made Moe seem like an outcast rather than a part of society. While Mei was seen as the pretty, confident and popular girl with a slender body and tall height, Moe was seen as the homely, insecure and outcast girl, being short and chubby ever since she was a kid. Mei often stood up for her sister and tried to fend off others, but Moe often apologized to Mei and told her to step away, resulting in a cycle that often made her seem like "that girl".
However, this made Moe much more appealing to the opposite age group; the seniors. Because of personality that was most like the elders that lived in her town, she often talked with them and spent time with them rather than with other kids, making her friend group of kids her age very tight as a child. However, one elder in particular was Mei's role models that helped her become interested in Fashion and the Arts. The elder was a former dress maker who had to quit because of the arthritis that damaged her fingers. Telling her the stories and fashion trends that appeared over the span of her life, Moe became interested in one thing and one thing only; fashion.
As soon as she started middle school, she began sowing and making her own clothes, often using the left over fabris and new fabrics her father had given her to make headbands, accessories and extensions for the clothes that she already had. She had become immersed in this and found her passion for her future career in this hobby. Once she had the courage to show off one of the creations she had made, she had grabbed the attention of one of the closest friends she would meet in her life. Often being the most helpful, she taught her other friends how to sow with a needle and thread, often amazed by her skill in the art. As soon as graduated high school, she would find her self studying and having a career that she would've dreamed to have as a kid, but leaving those who cherished her company.

Tetsuya Sato - One of the fellow art students who was in her art class in her senior year, they would often hang out and talk about their hobbies together. After Tetsuya had began drawing portraits with her, Moe would soon become Tetsuya's partner in crime in drawing, becoming friends then sharing each other's mutual crushes with each other and eventually becoming partners until they broke up after the spark had left in college.

Jirou Aozora- A model and fellow designer who helped Moe create pieces for males, they became bunk mates after a mix up with dorms and soon became infatuated with each other after having their personalities collide. However, They've put a pause on their relationship after he went overseas to model for other companies. While they do communicate with each other via Skype and FaceTime, they're drifting apart after 9 months of separation.
