Decided to go with a group of medical professionals, just not sure what hospital or place to start out in

Hmm, I’m thinking of making either an group of medical professionals holding out within a hospital or an group of former police officers and riot squad members acting as a sort of mercenary squad.

I should question, is there a difference made when deciding the amount of individuals within a group to start out with? Or is the number of individuals moreso an sort of counting thing that serves more for story purposes?
