Nah. I've had rps here, and other sites for that matter, with little to nothing to get invested in lasts for pages.
Hell, when I first started forum rps there was rarely ever structure and we'd rp for hours, just firing out 1-2 lines of story. As time passed, our skills improved, our posts...
I wrote up a longer post, but I think it goes too much into detail. I'll just offer this. With no intent of offense, though I recognize some may be taken (-shrug-) I think it's very foolhardy to dismiss the biological differences that make up a male and female as minute. In that same breath...
Lol is this really a thread?
If someone doesn't want to rp with you because you have terrible grammar. That's their right. You don't like it? Get better at Grammar.
It's nothing complicated about it. Also, using Einstein as an example is a false equivalence. "They're both bad at English...
TD:DR the posts after the OP, but Most of my characters are female. for the 15 + years I have been roleplaying, most have been male, so the last few, have been mostly female. Playing the same thing gets boring. :3
Gilzar's brings me to a point I forgot to mention. I do mention posts minimum and offer the reason for "effort showcased" but I don't think that post length necessarily reflects upon any of the aforementioned things. I think it can actually backfire, and make the roleplay stale when you get...
I don't think a post length should be attached to detailed. Also detailed isn't exactly quality, so I think that's also a bit of misleading moniker in regards to roleplays. I get bored if you describe an apple too much, especially if it takes away from the plot.
You don't spend hours in most...
If you're going to do the custom card things, let me know. I'm not familiar with duel portal, but if it's similar to dueling network i would also like to judge (not roleplay). I am really good with understanding and balancing YGO decks and rules. I also qualified for regional judging in the YCS...
It went fine. However it actually takes away from the role play especially when duels are often and especially when playing in the advanced format.

Ah. Now this is a curious question, and I'm guessing it refers to PvE, or Player vs. Game, or whatever you may classify it as.
For me, considering I run most free form roleplays, it depends on the level of the roleplay. Touching on what inq said, the leveling should be about what they can...
When roleplaying sentient beings (specifically human beings) unless ALL of the characters don't mesh or suffers from a sort of social/emotional disorder, it would be quite foolish to purposely avoid romance. Note that I did not say mutual romance.
It is natural to be infatuated with another...
Late, but I'll add on anyway.
Everything most of you said, (^-^)-b.
I've been roleplaying for a while (15 years or so), and I've seen different forums, chats, the like. I've never really liked the word Literate, for aforementioned reasons, mainly the fact that it further pushes the thought...
To do a basic game of DnD? Dice, dungeon/land whatever you call it maps help a lot to keep track of what's going on in things like encounters, considering characters have certain speeds, weapons have certain range, etc. Distinguishable pieces, a print out of a character sheet is very useful...
You can pretty much find all of the books online for free. There are also a lot of tools online and for download that can help with character creation, and tracking. The DM is the one who has the most responsibility, and seeing as no one has experience in it, it may be a rough go handle the...
