I don't really think that your concept is related to your character abilities.
Like, I get the two different forms part, but I don't get how dark/light magic is relevant to it.

Don't really see the issue with that tbh. Given that you don't let every attack auto-hit, naturally.
And the same people probably won't let their character get hit either if they get to choose.
I'd say closer to Madoka (I think, I've never really watched it tbh).
What I had in mind was that character magical girl form essentially lets them embody a concept and gain various powers relevant to that specific concept.
For example, one idea for character I have is a magical girl whose...
TLDR: Magical girls fights a proxy war for weird animal-looking alien creatures.
Synopsis: One day when absent mindedly going about your business, you come across a weird looking creature that seemingly no-one else notices (no matter how much you potentially try). It looks a bit like an animal...
I think not allowing auto-hitting in combat roleplays is dumb.
I get why people don't allow it, but it creates more problems than it solves (mostly because it doesn't solve any problems to begin with).
