Man, that sucks x.x I'm lucky that I still have stuff to do. Or rather...perhaps a bit unlucky? xD I want a house in Ishgard when Endwalker drops this fall, but I'm sitting at 3 million gil and I just started leveling botanist. Which was a mistake and I intend to switch over to miner and start grinding that lol

    Good point!
Me, at the release of Forsaken: Uldren Sov killed my Vanguard, he is officially dead to me.
Me, two years later, watching the Forsaken cutscenes: Oh no he's hot

    Ahh yes, betrayal...
Die, still hate him, always hated him mostly in destiny 1

I found him amusing because ill-tempered characters have a strange charm to me. His death was still so satisfying in Forsaken because he deserved it for taking the Hunter Vanguard away from us, but now, in Beyond Light, I don't see Crow as the same person. Because by the same logic people follow for hating the newborn Guardian, we ourselves should be held accountable for any crimes that we committed before our Ghosts found us - even though we have no recollection of what we might have done, or who we might have been.
People aren't so scary once you start talking to them. A simple truth, but one I need to keep reminding myself of nonetheless lol

Except for Phil from Accounting. Damn he's terrifying.

We dare not speak his name here, lest he manifest in the mortal plane and destroy us all
I might consider becoming active on this site again, but my mental health makes the frequency of which I role play kind of unpredictable.
I'm thinking about setting a maximum amount of role plays that I'll actively participate in because I got really overwhelmed last time and I didn't know how to turn down all of the nice people who offered to role play with me. Then I went on an unexpected hiatus and I felt really bad about disappearing.
I'm all about lore and getting stuff right when it comes to role playing fandom stuff. I like to research as much as I can.
So, if I were to request a Sonic the Hedgehog role play, how much of the lore should I know beforehand? I have all of the comics, and if I need to read the entire series before I start something involving this fandom, I will. But I really wanna role play this series as soon as possible lol

That's probably something that will vary from RPer to RPer. I doubt you need any knowledge past the games, but just in case, it's probably better to make sure your RP partner is okay with the amount of knowledge you have! Communication is key! I'm in a Pokemon Roleplay right now, and I've only played one or two games for a very brief amount of time. I made sure everyone was okay with my lack of knowledge beforehand.

I have played a small handful of the games (Sonic Rush, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic Riders), but from what I've noticed by perusing the forums, people are looking for partners who are familiar with Scourge and his story arc, and he's only in the comics. All the same, I am hoping to play more in the future.

It is good to hear that not everyone is strict on background knowledge, though. As much as I like to know as much as possible, sometimes I just want a good role play and I'm glad that people here can be lenient. The last place I tried to role play at, everyone was super picky and I couldn't find partners for role plays I really wanted to do. I'll ask around. :)
So many friendly people with amazing ideas! I'm glad I finally joined this site.

It's a pretty amazing place! I joined two or so years ago and I'm still really glad I did. :D

Just don't be too discouraged if a lot of really cool ideas fall through. That's sadly a small side effect I've noticed.

^Daisie is right. It's important to understand failure is a natural part of the process and that one should learn to grow with it and overcome it rather than being discouraged by it. Use the times you fail to learn and do better, and cherish each moment you have when you have it!
I just want a consistent role play that doesn't die after the first day.

Tip: Provide more information and be willing to compromise. You haven't talked about whether you prefer threads, PMs or something else, about your writing length, pace etc... If you want consistent partners, first make sure they know in advance what to expect and what will be needed of them.

Second, when you and your partner are deciding what to do, try to be flexible but push them to what they enjoy.

Try to encourage them to be open about what they like and give them plenty of opportunity to shine and to tell you what they think. Don't let them be passive, and don't be passive yourself! But don't inhibit their ideas either.
