I don't think it's so much obscure as that there's very few people left who actually care about it anymore.

I mean, sure it was fun for a while and it kind of pioneered the toy to life genre, but that genre died out pretty quickly and when it did everyone just kind of forgot it.

I mean, I'm still surprised every time I remember that Disney Infinity was a thing.

I guess I'm just one of the few people who still care about it. I own all 6 Skylanders games, a whole army of figures, literally every version of a particular character (7), and have watched the spinoff show multiple times. As an author and creator at heart, I don't see it as simply a toy to life game, but as a vast world with lovable characters and a fun storyline.

I also own various versions of Disney Infinity and that random Lego Dimensions game... xD

Dude, I own Lego Dimensions and every time I look at it I'm like "Oh right, that's a thing that exists. I forgot about it."

It's funny, Toy to Life games are kind of like Amiibos except they're easy to get and actually do something!

I've got a few Amiibos and honestly the only thing I used them for was to get special gear in Splatoon 2. They've just been sitting around ever since. I really don't see the point of them.

Skylanders and other toy to life games however, allow you to really bring the character to life and interact with the world.

I realize that they're pretty much dead now but I still hope somewhere in the vast sea of members on this site, someone will recognize the random Skylanders spinoff show and want to rp. It's likely never gonna happen but oh well
