  • I took one look at you in the introductions and thought you a decent fellow. I've got an interest check out, but with no story to show for yet. We want to create a story set in actual history and we have only a few ideas on it. It is set in medieval Lombardy in the 550's period, and we have yet to decide where the story will go. I'm hoping that if you join, a new member will give fresh blood to the community here and much needed vigor.

There are many books and their main purpose is to collect sources. These sources we will use to select a specific time and place where our story will take place. All one has to do is pick a spot and we can get the ball rolling. I was hoping the others would pick, but they haven't already. I myself can't pick either. If you enter, I hope you can do it for us. If you can do that, I can handle the rest. That includes the story, the setting, the characters and all.

Here is the interest check in question.

Ever since I've talked to you I had several ideas pop up in mind. You mentioned a turn-based game where years pass by quickly. I'd like something slower and much more dynamic. That is, we'll take more time playing the story and there will be a lot of events in it. Below are some of the ways it can be pulled off.

    1. A game of strategy. Each player will control a set of armies and provinces, they will also have a different set of objectives to accomplish. This game will feature the use of the military, the proper use of resources and a choice of policies to take. Think of the game Grand Tactician: The Civil War and that's what I'll want this game to take inspiration from. We'll have to study the equipment, the organization as well as some of the tactics used by each army.

    2. A feudal story. We'll control a family of nobility and try to survive the war. Alternatively, we could play as a bunch of serfs or free men in a town or village, albeit one having the misfortune to live in the middle of the Gothic War. We'll have to study the lives of the peoples living in this era as we'll try to make a living here (and in such a hard time period no less).

    3. A military adventure. We could control a team of officers or soldiers in a military unit and take the fight to the enemy! We'd need some knowledge of martial arts, of equipment of the period, and then we can go all in from there.
