We can see them, but as with anything in the regular forums, it's best if you report rulebreaking behavior when you see it. It's a big site and there's only so many of us, and reports make sure to draw our attention to things.
Oh damn I didn't even see your post of yesterday until now! But yeah stuff in PMs can be checked out and you can be reported on them etc.
