  • So I've determined that Sunrise: Sparks of Innovation is gonna draw heavily from Treasure Planet for plot inspiration and whatnot. How it'll do that? Heck if I know, I'm winging this stuff as it goes! But I can tell you it will, at one point, feature a robot armed feline mercenary and questionable disposal of sewage into a magic pond.
Hey nerds, guess what! I did it! Can I get a cookie now?

Editing on Chapter 1 begins soon, just got a job so it'll take a bit to get accustomed to the new schedule and such.
The magic lizard, now in glorious updated looks! Thanks to moronface moronface for producing such an awesome piece of work, it's inspired me to work extra hard on Melody of the Kirin. Be sure to hit him/her up for great art, his/her prices are legit affordable and the work is def worth it. Seriously he/she even got the wand right to a T.

The new work is much more whimsical and fun, and has an adventurous duo seeking out pieces of a lost work for an upcoming festival. It'll feature Milly, since I'm doing something with her, damn it. And the title? Well, I'm excited for that.

    Sunrise: Melody of the Kirin.

Look forward to getting chapter 1 out in a few days!
So, a bizarre development's happened and I'll be upfront; the current story idea's being put on hold for the time being. This is because of a number of reasons, mostly because I don't really feel like something as gritty as Obsidian Dreams, the title of the story, would be very fun to write currently. Mostly cause I'm not really in the mood for it, as I've discovered. Instead, another idea's enthralled me, one which I've actually began work on as of the writing of this.
In preparation for the story, I've erected a little thread for the lizard. Ask questions if ye wish, you donks who've decided to follow this (thank you) thing. Anything helps!

So I hope to begin writing the story around Tue or Wed of next week, been getting the final details narrowed down and refining my writing. Decided I'm going novel style on this thing, chapters of various, indeterminate length and whatnot. Why? Because every chapter doesn't need to be a short story! I've learned from that mistake. Also Henry will appear in chapter 1, along with a homicidal house plant named Chuck.
    Consider the following;
A Brass Dragonborn's unarmed strike should naturally deal lethal damage, and they should always be considered armed.
Cause if they punch you, it's with their Brass knuckles.
Huzzah! I've now been enlightened and the story has been shaped! New art of the lizard is also in the works. This will be a thing! And chapter one will feature a basilisk named Henry. Henry isn't very friendly. He gets hit with a rock.

I don't know who you are or what you write but this post makes me feel happy. Maybe because of how you describe this Henry fellow.

Henry will be pleased to know you enjoyed this. It won't make him any less unfriendly, but it will make him slightly more appreciative.
Milly pulled back the vines and froze, shocked by what she saw. Staring up at her was a riveted, industrial helmet with a grilled mouth guard, and dirtied glass eye lens. Up close she recognized the cowling of the engine mounted on the back of the shape she sat upon, that of an enormous suit of armor. This was the final resting place of a warrior who participated in the Great War. It was all that remained of one of the mighty Gene Giants of the Grand Legion.

She squealed and fell onto her back when the helmet turned to look her in the eyes.

    "Necrotics... Inbound."
Give me about a week and I'll get to cracking on this story. Gotta psyche myself up, and get the final details of the lizard done. I can introduce you to the lizard, tho. Here she be, Milly the Reagent Hunter extraordinaire! She got stage magic, she got a magic wand, she got a mighty hankering for wolfing down as many discount noodle bowls as she can. And most importantly, she's going to grow from a rookie Wage Mage to a Spellslinger, by facing adversity and challenge, growing as a person, and magician from it! Hope you all like her!

I've been advised by wiser minds that if I don't do the dagger wand, I will be stabbed with a spoon until I comply. So uh... Say hello to the Ruby Hilted Wand-Blade!
Which would be a more compelling possession for the magic lizard, a wand and a magic sword that can catch on fire, or a dagger wand what makes a flaming blade to shank people with from a bit further away?
So more work was done on the story. It's now going to feature a blue kobold who can tell the future... By taking a bubble bath in a big, golden prayer bowl, while eating gems and reading a good book.
"Okay so I found a way to make it work. Sort of. What we did was we found some chunks of obsidian looking stuff that're great magic lightning rods and regulators. So... We stuck them inside a patient. Yes. We jammed about two dozen shards of this magic space rock into this person and pumped them full of magic."

Behold some dialogue from our fair villain, Sir Reginald Voltenheim. He wants to raise an army of these refined lunatics to take over this world's equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle. Why? Because he's rich and can, that's why! Plus he wants the biggest chapter in the history books. No, for real. That's the entire reason.

As it should be, I only strive to write interest piquing material. And penguin overlord appeasing material.
Dontcha just love when ideas suddenly come in from outta nowhere? Glad to say I finally have an idea for an extended story, now. Will need to tweak it for a bit, but I think I got something. Needless to say it will revolve around a magic lizard with an inferiority complex regarding her heritage, and some issues to settle with a mithril armed bartender. And a megalomaniac looking to restore a machine used in ancient times to create a caste of magic wielding killers. What could possibly go wrong?
I just realized I unintentionally put a company of shotgun wielding guerrilla fighters in my DnD world that also happen to be Were Raptors. ._.
So I might have a few ideas for stories at last. Spent the last month and a half working on refining my style. The question is, however, which do I do first? Meeting with a nerdy countess in a magic manor of madness, or a thought provoking encounter with a sapient vending machine?

I had to Google "sapient" XD

No Spanish for me thanks! *runs*
Plague Doctors have become a recent obsession of mine. One I really didn't even know I had. Why tho?
So I've put a hiatus on A Familiar Encounter, going to do some work on the main dude before proceeding. In the meantime Ima be doing semi-frequent short scenes/skits to keep my writing up.

    Story - Springtime Spring Visits

Here be the latest one I did, featuring the former boxing adventurer Charles "Roadburn" Locklear and his protege Milianor visiting a glade to relax and catch up.
So chapter 2 for A Familiar Encounter is going up tomorrow. Also doing a thing on someone finding a crashed UFO around the same time a reptoid recovery team happens upon the scene. Might do an rp based off it. I 'unno. I just write, fam.
Good lord with how little people have interacted with you on here you must reckon you're half ghost

I like your writing so far.
