  • Isn't it kinda weird that America is remaking a movie, the creation of which is steeped in the fact that America bombed said country. I dunno, it's weirdly circular

I mean I thought it was kinda weird America has a reality tv star as president.
    It's weirdly destructive aha

We just need to build a wall to keep Godzilla out
I can't take all these shows coming out this winter. Like, it's everything I love all wrapped in one season. It's killing me.

    What shows?

I'm watching The Promised Neverland, Mob Psycho II, Dororo, and the last and arguably best season of Gotham.

And waiting for Umbrella Academy to come out next month. And still watching JoJo from last season. And the What We Do in the Shadows TV spinoff is coming out in March!

I know, anime and comic books, I have such adult and refined tastes, lol.

Hehehe, no worries, I'm not one to talk, apart from the occasional movie (usually marvel :P ) I don't watch anything but anime (and youtube)
"Super Blood Wolf Moon" sounds like some sort of anime finishing move

Sounds like a bedroom move that would kill a man or at least give somebody a pretty awful sprain

I saw that six hours ago and only now am I realizing that said finishing move and not fishing move.

"Super Blood Wolf Moon!" Hiro Protagonist screams. Fire erupts from his body. Action lines form as he throws his hands back and...

Plop. A little bobber lands in the water.
I feel like the writers on Gotham have stopped giving a single shit and it's great.

So in other words they can do whatever the hell they want?

Exactly, just found an actual quote and apparently DC literally said to the writers, "You know what? Do whatever you want."
    Saccharine Cyanide

From the showrunner about restrictions on season 5: "There were very few. [DC was] really very, very open to us, saying, 'You know what? If you want to do that, go for it.'"
You know Skyrim is a fantasy game because you can go to sleep and wake up feeling Well Rested.

I'm sad to say that I never finished my quest to kill every single living thing in Skyrim :/

Sadly, monsters will keep spawning regardless of how many things you kill.
Pro tip for ladies: Keep a deck of cards in your purse so that if someone you don't like asks you out, you can just flip through them, shrug, and say "Sorry, but it looks like it's just not in the cards."

If anyone wants to watch Bandersnatch, just know that the experience starts off like, wow this some fucking amazing feat of technology.

Then the excitement kinda peters out to you asking, when am I gonna ever get an interesting ending. And then you never do.

    That's basically it, lol.
I'm perpetually stuck in a cycle between "Corporations are not your friends and their use of memes is just a marketing tactic."

Thanks for the debate anyway, it's good to get the brain juices flowing and refresh your stances on things.

Now, I need some coffee, lol.

Probably not a good idea to chug a cup of Death Wish coffee on an empty stomach when I've only been drinking tea for months...
Why do magic circles always have random alchemical symbols in them. Are demons gonna be like, "Oh no, it's my only weakness: potassium carbonate!"

I know I made this sound facetious, but if anyone has a real answer, please tell

Alchemy used to be considered magic just as much as science, as the distinction between the two was far blurrier back in the way (as in way back). While in time we came to understand the processes more scientifically, the idea of alchemy as a form of magic continued to be popular in fiction. The usage of alchemical symbols, which had this indistinct mysterious vibe to them, lend them quite nicely to using for magic

circles as opposed to, you know, carving the symbol of the devil into fiction and risking losing the majority of your audience, which for a good portion of history was religious, and specifically christian.

This is my guess. It may also have something to do with the timing of alchemy with the whole "witches" incident, or to do with some usage of the symbols I am not quite aware about in alchemy as well.
Do you ever rewatch a show or movie where a character you like dies and you're just like, "Well, maybe it won't happen this time?"

Unless I'm remembering this completely wrong, I've always been bothered by this one episode of Scooby Doo where (spoilers I guess) the villain sabotages amusement park rides in an attempt to scare people away from the park.

But he's actually the owner, so the gang is just like "Well, since we're still alive, he hasn't technically committed any crimes. Guess he's getting away with it after all!"

    Bitch. What.

Apparently it was season 1, episode 7 of What's New, Scooby Doo? and I was very close with the details.

That would be attempted murder and negligence at least, no?
Last night I had a dream that I was watching an adaptation of Junji Ito manga and the last story was about a ghost helicopter that chased people down and made them vanish off the face of the earth if it got too close.

The weirdest part is that I could plausibly see this as something that was actually written by Junji Ito...
