And you'd also have to find people capable of meeting the status quo in superior training elements, but those people are not highly prominent and so we need to settle for the next best thing.

Devious Dilbert Devious Dilbert Honey, where do you get your information? Did you happen to be there and witness every single incident that's ever happened? I'm not about to argue a position I haven't researched, whereas you seem perfectly happy to hurl insults at the person arguing as opposed to their actual argument.

Now that's a sign of humanity.

the police are supposed to be trained to handle situations that are hostile in a calm and respective manner, the job itself is dangerous, they picked that profession, the people who were murdered at the hands of cops who couldn't or rather didn't bother to deescalate couldn't pick the color of their skin

right. well, solutions aside, all i'm saying is if your instinctive emotion is to take out your gun and brutally murder someone & that's becoming a recurring issue, something's wrong.

& i'm sorry that one of you is so offended by this that you've decided to take what could be a civil discussion & make it an issue of intelligence, but if you feel so strongly about this that you feel that need, i'm sure the 100+ black people killed by police this year alone would be ready to hear it. just wanted to give my input on an issue that i, as a poc, too, am very concerned with.

the fact of the matter is this has been going on for years, we just have cameras now, big whoop

fanaa, i'd say that civilians should be expected to respect police officers in kind. it's not a one-way thing.

There's a difference between being trained for the moment than being IN the moment.

I agree with Fanaa Fanaa . Again with the whole 'this has been happening for a long time now'. I seriously doubt there's much we can do to stop it.

qwerty; qwerty; Babygirl, are you kidding? Because you didn't even respond to me. You just attempted to mock me. And this is literally what you said. "considering that our best source of current info is from the news and there really isn't any other alternative," Baby, I'm sorry but the news is strategic in what it wants you to believe. Also, you objectivelt stated that police are trigger happy. That frankly isn't true.

also POC experience different forms of prejudice, c'mon now everyone knows that

guis we gotta remember to not get the whole discussion shutdown by the mods, because they'll probably get more fascist against debates like this, if we start name-calling too much
Devious Dilbert

Lorsh Lorsh Actually, you're right LOL. Kinda hard to remember that this is a roleplay site when people treat it like twitter with statuses like these.

respect is without a doubt a two way street, but who does it start with?

Sometimes the most important thing is a short break and a glass of water.

yeah i just try not to get too worked up about it, i disagree with the OP mainly, but it must be hard responding to like 5 people at once

is it not concerning that black parents have to talk with their children about how to interact with a cop, what white parent do you hear about doing this
Daisie
Daisie
Well, I'm white, and I believe it's important for everyone to know how to properly reply to a cop. Either way, there are certain things you can do, even accidentally, that can give them a million red flags. It's important for everyone to know etiquette, no matter the race.

I also don't see how name calling got into this, opinions get people so riled up
