One of my friends introduced me to it at a young age, but it became more common on Kik when I joined the most comedic group full of fun-loving, crazy individuals.

XD a new game came up literally called sonic rp project reignite and i grew up with sonic so i was of course interested XD

I only recognize Roblox because of Team Epiphany Ryan's live streams of it. xD 

An IRC channel like, a million years ago. Though at the time I didn't really properly RP with like characters and stuff. I think my first proper RP was... back in 2001, maybe? I remember people always talking about RP on like, AOL and Yahoo messengers but that was never really my scene.

I am so glad I posted this, 'cause I just found out via virtual pet sites. xD

Yooo neopets was my shit back in the day but I never really did the social part of the site, I just played all the goofy games.

@Negative Zone Yaaaasss hahaha. Hannah and the Ice Caves... I loved the comic series and the Neopian Times. And the RP, honestly. I switched over to Marapets though, and fell in love with the RP style. Hence why I'm so difficult and picky here... I loved that website's way of roleplaying. xD

I think the lesson here is any sort of online platform that enables communication between two or more internet users will probably have an RP scene of some sort on it.

I've noticed that. Not sure if you ever tried out Adventure Quest or anything, but they actually had online forums that hosted writing-based roleplay, outside of the RPG-ish game itself... Never had much luck there. xD

Probably. I know Marapets' RP became my zone. xD I still pop back there once in awhile... thinking maybe they were revived. Somewhat. xD

To be completely honest, I met some of the best roleplayers ever on Marapets. You could create "clubs" and be apart of them, and there were actually roleplay clubs. We would talk on there, but then Simon (basically our little ring leader) set-up a proboards website and we all roleplayed on there. Probably the highlight of my roleplaying career.

My first actual interaction with a RP site involved me attempting to look for RPG games on google. I saw a site named "Naruto RPG" so I clicked it, but I was like, "Where is the download button at?" There were only words and junk, and I was like 10, so I didn't really get it. 6 years later when I joined one of the sites, I finally realized why there was no download button >.>. And well, here I am now lol.
