My only advice is to give yourself time. No one on The Staff learned everything overnight. =)
Do you still need players for yu yu hakusho?

I mean majority of the fandom roleplays gms would assist on the information that the gm uses for that said roleplay, if the newcomer is new to that fandom then most gms would just help them out as far as information goes

I was just wondering what about Yu Yu Hakusho or this RP in general caught your eye.

The RP is divided up into distinct arcs. I don't allow new players in during an active arc. This is to keep things nice and concise for storytelling. Luckily, the recent arc is coming to a close soon, which means there will be a grace period I'll be open to either a new set of characters or changes to the roster.

As per information, pretty much everything is detailed out in the RP description. Characters play as Spirit Detectives - generally young adults or older teens that have an untimely death, but are given a second chance in return for becoming supernatural enforcers that work under Shinigami. Without knowing much about the fandom itself, the current gist is that all Spirit Detectives begin by passing the Trial of the Beast in which they are given an egg that feeds off their spiritual energy for forty-eight hours. After that, it hatches. If it fed off evil or impure energy, it will hatch a great beast that will devour the person. If not, they get a cute little pet to act as a familiar and go on to become Spirit Detectives by being given a set of tools to use in their new lives that harness spiritual energy called Reikai to fight off or simply solve supernatural cases based in Japanese mythology in a fictional tourist city ran by gangs in the off season.

Now, if you want to watch Yu Yu Hakusho, I always suggest nwanime.com. Fantastic anime right out of the 90's; one of my favorites.
