It's not like you're admitting smoking meth or anything.

Does it? Heh. You must have a different type of family. Everyone knows I'm a huge anime dork. Hell, I watch it on the TV sometimes.

I still haven't been able to tell my family about my addiction to my favorite anime, Cory in the House

Well, where I live it's not exactly "the norm" to like anime. Furthermore my parents are extremely close minded.

And @[34640:@Trust] I have to tell them, since I'm requesting they let me go to another city for a convention

It's not, what you call, the "norm" where I live either. In fact, I'm actually only one out of a hand full of people that like anime (5-7), out of five hundred in my school.

I never tell my parents anything anymore. :0
Just how my day is really.
I can't trust them, the minute I tell them something, my whole family knows the next day.

@Spencarian I know that feeling. While I don't care if they know I'm an Otaku, it's impossible to tell them anything about what I do online (or anywhere else) without it becoming "a serious matter", or just "the grand topic of conversation for the next four weeks."

Wow, I'm glad to find someone who shares this, I honestly can't bring myself to tell her I talk online to people without her almost calling the cops before she thinks I'll get kidnapped etc.
