still reading but so far yes, also about magic, what is magic quirkiness? or quirkiness in general?

Anything that is meant to funny or odd or unusual, soemthing unique to the thing with the quirkiness, with the purpose of being quirky before anything else. 

so being able to breath, sneeze, cough, hiccup, belch, fire?

As in all or just one?


breathing fire isn't quirky, it's a practical power, because the effect is designed for it's practical use.


but sneezing or coughing fire are quirky, because the sneeze and the cough are more out of control and provicable making them less focused on a practical use and more on the interest of coughing and sneezing fire in itself.

When you can' t control an ability, you're focusing more on the effect of the ability rather than what you can do with it.


if you have a fire breathing ability, that means you can choose to burn something. So you have the ability so that you can have a weapon or a tool.


but a cough is not controllable. You aren't likely to accomplish anything with it, so having the ability means you want the ability for the abiltie's sake. Like a piece of art.
