Two Exalted games and a World of Darkness game. Also in the middle of running a Quest game as well. Feel free to join that one if you like. Damsels and Dragons.
A Quest game is similar to a Choose your own Adventure book, in which the GM will write a scene and then give a list of options. Players will then vote on those options, which the GM will then use to write the next scene. My quest is lightly based on Dungeons and Dragons, hence the name.
Complicated. Many many choices I don't like, as well as some things I absolutely love. Overall I'd say it's better than 2e, but one must remember that that's not exactly a high bar to overcome.
That's probably the best way to put it. I haven't played it yet. I can't bring myself to finish reading the rules. I was pretty disappointed after waiting that long.
Yeah, there's a lot of controversy surrounding it at the moment among the fanbase. I'm on the side of "It's not bad, just not as good as it could have been."
I also am HIGHLY jaded by phenomenal indie games that deliver on "story" games way better than 3E. So, that's part of it for sure. But, there seemed to be a decent shift in "feel" too. Like, it feels way less like an anime game about half-gods the way it reads, to me.
The tone is much more subdued, to be sure. My own personal stances is that so long as I can still have my street level heroes engage cosmic monstrosities, I'm willing to give it a pass. Godbound comes close to what I'd like Exalted to have been, but still several steps shy of it.
Another great way to put it. I agree mostly. It's obvious you have actually played the game, unlike me. I really should keep an open mind on it until I've played it.
