Zena stepped through the back door, and waded her way through into the back room once again. It was a spacey room, with three investigators fighting against two young male ghouls. Perhaps it was fortunate that the fight was taking place in the house, for the walls and ceiling restricted the use of larger quinques, much to the advantage of the ghouls. Although, they were also forced to rely on mere hands-on approaches at times. They were all doing so well, Zena thought, as she sidekicked one of the investigators, bringing him to the floor and plunging her crystallised ukaku into his stomach. "Ha!" She laughed, nodding to the other ghouls, enticing them, hyping them up. "Keep it up! We'll have this lot sorted in no time."
Hyping up was what they needed.

The scents in the air became heavily inbalanced by human flesh, which could only mean the arrival of more investigators. She wrenched open the door, to find an investigator trundling down the hallway, evidently using all his stamina this early. Zena simply rushed at him, jumped. kicking him in the stomach and sending him backwards into the front door. She herself stumbled, but regained her composure and spread her kagune, her wings scattering crystal darts into the man's chest and torso. Speckles of blood sprayed onto her face and chest, and she wiped the side of her face with her hand.

How many were there? How many ghouls would be killed? Could they do it? Zena shook off her doubts, aggressively leaping through the door, only to halt in her tracks. It was clear this would be no easy battle, as yet more transportation pulled up on the street. She heard the yell of Saeko from upstairs, evidently she had found Gorou, and he too was safe for now, thank goodness.
Zena simply walked slowly across to the curb, her ukaku wings enlarged and raised. She scanned the street, bracing herself, and spotted a female investigator stepping out of the vehicle, with what appeared to be a young, frail looking ghoul by her side. The sight of the youngster stirred an anger within her, a frustration, and she gritted her teeth. He looked wearied. They wouldn't. No way.

A sigh escaped from Johann's lips. The director of the American CCG had asked him, once again, to comeback and offering him a higher position. He declined, not that he didn't want to go back to his home country but he has liked being in Japan a lot. He's grown fonder with the people in this country than his own and most ghouls are far more vicious than the ones he encountered there. It's quite stressful for him to think about, something that made him scratch the back of his head but it's not like there was anyone for him to go home to.

Although a bit troubled by the call from earlier, he greeted anyone who greeted him happily or rather anyone he passes by. "Hello, Kagemitsu-san." Johann chirped to Toda as he headed over to the branch director's office. "Ah, finally you're here."

The blonde man smiled to his superior. "Well you did call for me, sir." The man laughed, he always loved it when Johann was being a bit sarcastic. Something he hardly shows. "I'll be needing you to help out in Operation: Garden."

A small smiled spread from his lips, people had been talking about the Garden for a while now but Johann was sure that Elite Investigators weren't needed that much for it. "If I may ask, what has changed for the need for an Elite Investigator?"

The older man in front of him sighed. "We heard that Bone Snapper was in the scene. Better to have someone like you in the field before that ghoul keeps one killing more of us. We will also be sending Akito there." Without further ado, Johann went out of the room and grabbed his suitcase, he actually found the suitcase a bit bothersome but it's not like he can do anything about it, and went for his partner, Akira.

"Akira," He opened the door to his partner's cell. "We have been given a mission, so this is no time to be sleeping if you are." He stated cheerfully, walking inside and grabbing her by the wrist. Taking her to his motorcycle.

In just a few minutes, they arrived. Opting to create a pincer attack so that no ghouls will be able to escape from the back. He shut down the engine and turned his head to his partner. "Are you ready, Akira?"

Sure enough the battle was interesting, and she found it amazing how Bone Snapper was able to take down so many ghouls in a short amount of time, as expected of a high rated ghoul. But things were getting far to bloody and she was thinking about how it was time to go and skedaddle since she didn't really want to be part of the fight and garner attention, if ever. She wanted to go and yet her eyes are glued to the fight as so much was happening and more investigators came. But in a split second, was a young ghoul in his mid teens is being hunted by a officer. He was already in a bad condition, the young ghoul, sustaining multiple damages from the quinque.

Elrika gulped, her first priority is to survive. No matter what, so why should she endanger herself for a young ghoul? She doesn't want to, but she does anyway. She jumped from the building, she let out her kagune as she fell. Her long and almost massive spiked tail was used like an anchor to keep herself from falling as she squeezed through, she landing rather noisily. She immediately whipped out her kagune, wrapping it around the investigator crushing his bones before flooping to the floor. "Are you okay? You should go and find your leader." She immediately asked the younger one. To which he answered with a yes and thank you, she let him run along. In a split second, seeing her brother in him.

She shook of the feeling, not really needing it right now. Turning around she saw the arrival of more CCG operatives, and at the very back was a young woman with white hair, beside a young ghoul with a very sullen look. Anger sparked in her eyes, not only was a ghoul on a leash in front of her but so was the Albino. The girl fit the description perfectly, Elrika gritted her teeth. She jumped down near another ghoul, an Ukaku with white flame-like wings. "Are you going to attack her?" She asked, while she wanted to get a closer look of the person who killed her brother, she wasn't as revenge hungry to get herself killed. "Going on you're own might prove to be difficult. I heard she's on par with Bone Snapper and it might be too difficult as there are more operatives now than ever, it may be better to ensure that everyone has evacuated. But if you're going to fight her... I'm willing to help."

Akira

Akira would usually be asleep right now, it was one of her favorite hobbies after all. It was something she helped pass the time since she became imprisoned in the CCG. Akira had gotten sloppy with the way she was killing and eating. Back at school, she'd use a weapon fashioned out of an old ruler to kill her classmates. It's a shame the CCG was smart enough to catch on that it was a ghoul and the same ghoul that had been called Arachnid and killing on the streets. She was known for killing younger individuals. But one that survived her attempts was able to recall what Akira had looked like. She still held a grudge against that person, but there was nothing she could do about it now. For a while, life was rough being in CCG prison, but had started to look up ever since she got this collar that was around her neck. Apparently it granted her special permissions, allowing to go outside when the Investigator she paired with please. His name was Johann, and while she wanted to be free, she couldn't complain with a guy like him. He was sweet and cute.

But here she was, working on her next art project. She was exceptionally talented in painting and drawing, her mediums varying but one thing was always the same; her subject. Akira enjoyed insects and arthropods, after all it's what her kagune looked like... Spider legs. Her hands and usual dirty and worn out hoodie were covered with acrylic paint, her head perking when she heard her cell door open. She was greeted by a familiar face. "Johann-Senpai!" She said with a cheerful voice, but was unable to form a conversation due to him grabbing her wrist and dragging her out. She managed to grab her worn and dirty mask on the way out before sitting on his motorcycle. "A mission, hmm? What a shame, I was getting in the zone with my art..." She pouted, holding onto his waist while they drove to the location. When they arrived, it was a huge mess. Bodies were scattered, mostly of soldiers and investigators. No wonder they needed the both of them. Hearing is voice, she slipped on her mask. "As always, Johann-Senpai."

Hansuke spun, driving his foot into the skull of a ghoul a few years old than him. The man tumbled away from the body he'd been feeding on, hitting the alley wall hard enough to crack the brick. The other ghoul was scraggly, starving, and clearly desperate. Probably driven out of whatever hole he crawled out from by the Elites. None of that, however, mattered to Hansuke. This was his territory. His feeding grounds. It wasn't much, but it was his, and it was important that every other ghoul in the area knew it.

"Please, I-"

Hansuke grabbed him by the face, just because he could. He leaned in close to the weaker ghoul. "I don't care what your sob story is. I only care that you killed someone that wasn't yours to kill. Now, how are you going to make this up to me? Or should I just kill you, instead?"

The ghoul made rapid, muffled noises against his hand.

"What's that?" Hansuke cupped a hand around his ear. "I shouldn't kill you so you can spread the word about me to the others that have been skulking around here? You know, that's a good point. But I can't just let you go free after this, can I? Hmm. I think I'll break both of your arms. Yeah, that'll do."

The other ghoul shook his head back and forth, but Hansuke care much for what he wanted anyway. He did exactly that, then finished off the remains of the murdered woman after the other ghoul ran away. He would've went to his apartment after--he had class in the morning and work in the afternoon--if not for the sirens. Almost immediately, Hansuke took to a rooftop, tugging his scarf up to cover his nose and mouth. His fingers were still bloody.

Something was happening a few blocks away. Something big. Was the CCG finally making a move? He looked down at the remains of the body in the alley. It was mostly bones, but still very obviously a crime committed by a ghoul. If he left her there, the CCG would pay closer attention to this area, and he didn't need that. And with most of them being distracted, he was given a golden opportunity to dump her somewhere else without attracting attention. Hansuke scooped up the body and dumped it in an alley near Antique. He didn't know much about the place, other than that Bone Snapper worked there, though he didn't know what she looked like out of her hunting outfit. He'd never been inside, if only because he had no interest in becoming her next meal.

Hansuke scaled a drainage pipe to get back on the roof. He had a better view of what was going on from there. It was a CCG raid. Ghouls were fighting and fleeing from a house in every direction. A ghoul woman with a demon mask was on the roof beside his. Before he could think of approaching her she jumped down. Taking her place, Hansuke watched her protect another, younger ghoul. A sibling? A friend? It didn't matter. He didn't know her and she didn't know him. Though he thought he saw Bone Snapper in the mix, along with The White Dragon. Hansuke whistled to himself. It was a raid, raid then? He sat on the edge of the roof, his legs dangling over the edge.

Could he help some of the fleeing ghouls escape? With more and more high-level Investigators joining the scene? Maybe, if he was lucky. Did he want to? Not particularly. This, after all, wasn't really his business.

Zena was taken aback by her sudden encounter, but maintained a calm exterior, at first she mistook the woman for another controlled ghoul, but upon further acquaintance, she was the aid they needed. She nodded, thrust out her hand to her in alliance, before slicing an upcoming investigator that crept behind the red-haired ghoul. "Mind out!" She sweeped the legs of the prowling investigator, who fell to the ground, leaving her new companion and oppurtunity to strike him on the ground.
"I am Zena - or otherwise, the White Dragon. We are most grateful for your-" The female investigator sped up her pace, heading towards them with the younger ghoul at her side. As strong as Saeko? Already, doubts were flowing in her mind. The ghoul. I can't kill him...I can't. He has no place here, he doesn't deserve to be a pawn. Again, the sight of the young male ghoul stirred a tornado of emotions and conflict. "We must be careful," she nodded to the red-haired woman, preparing in fighting stance, low to the ground. Her ukaku was poised, crystallised. By this time, the wound on her side from the early encounter had healed over and replenished itself.

For a split second, she peered up to the rooftops, there were confused scents in the air. Someone else was near, but it wasn't human, and it was not the scent of the woman beside her. "Who?-" She could just about make the outline of a figure standing above one of the far rooftops, against a clouded sky. She hoped he would be for support, they needed no further complication in this battle. The rattle of a motorcycle engine could be heard pulling up on the same street, two individuals lighting from the transport. More? Again she glanced at the woman beside her, as if to say 'good luck', beneath her mask, although her red iris' could be seen through the holes. In battle, you never know which will be your last. But of course, that was not the sentiment to grapple - to be a ghoul, you always had to assume victory, even if you are lying in a pool of your own blood. At least, that's how Zena tried to shake away the concept of killing, hunting and injury in combat. Now was not the time.

Johann couldn't help but look away for a brief moment and blush. He lifted his right hand patting Akira's head and said, "That's my Akira." in a sweet tone. His controlled ghoul was a big reason for his stay in Japan, he'd grown really close to her in the two and a half years that they were together. He took out his quinque, a double saber that can shoot from or produce spikes at the blades. In just a few seconds, he was right. Three ghouls got out of the back entrance, a small number about three ghouls. All three were bloodied all over their garments, clearly they have killed a few investigators on their way out. "Well, I didn't think you all would already be here. Saves us the time coming to look for you." He turned his head to his young partner, saying with a smile,"Shall we go?"

He ran to the farthest, who looked like the most troublesome for Akira to deal with, even if she is an S rated ghoul. The hulk of a ghoul with a bikaku kagune. "You..." The man said, with clear anger in his eyes, possibly connected to someone he had captured or killed before or he just hates Doves in general. The ghoul winded his arm for a punch but Johann was able to evade to side, hitting the man's side with the spiked end of his staff beating of a good chunk of flesh. "You left yourself open." Johann advised his enemy, to which he just received a huff and a glare. Finding his breathing once again, the ghoul attacked with his kagune formed into sort of a thin blade, heading straight for Johann's neck. The investigator blocked it with his quinque, something that proved to be a bit difficult due to the difference in their strength. It wasn't a difficult fight, with just a sweep of the enemy ghoul's feet and a strike to the head his battle was over.

The American had always found raids to be a bit of a chore, and he finds the aftermath to be a little too much. He checked on Akira, finishing up the last of the ghoul that they saw. "I heard more coming from the inside. We should hurry over." They followed the direction of the skirmishes which led them to the kitchen, welcoming him was the sight of more dead investigators, and two... Just two ghouls standing in the middle of his dead colleagues. He could only clench his teeth as a sad feeling overcomes him, knowing that a few of the people in the raid are people he'd worked with multiple times. The troubling part in all of this is that in this battlefield is Bone Snapper, along with Nurari. He was strong, that much is true and so is Akira but he feared the idea of losing Akira in battle. He wasn't given word that the most wanted Ghoul in the ward was in sight, as she and Akira are both rinkaku the fight in terms of kagune would be fair to say the least but the fact that the enemy was a full Kakuja has him on the edge of his seat. In truth he only expected Nurari, but even he is a troublesome ghoul due to being a Chimera. With their strength it's a fair fight, "Akira," Taking her hand and squeezing it tight, "do you want to take them on?"

Elrika was thankful for the save, and gladly dealt the killing blow by pinning his head to the ground with the end of her tail, crushing part of his skull at the same time. "Elrika, the CCG calls me Amikiri." The image in front of him, it was a first time for her, to see the collar on the neck of a young ghoul. If her brother weren't dead, he might as well be just like him. Once again anger steered inside her. Her instincts tell her to back away but if only she had just gone away earlier rather than let her anger take the better of her. Zena, as she introduced herself, warned her to be careful. It was a given, "Of course, she is... after all, the feared investigator lately. The Albino."

As a ghoul it was easy to tell when there are people around, humans and ghouls alike. With her senses she could tell that there was a new arrival from the back of the place and one from peering from the top just as she did not too long ago. If the enemy went for her, her tactic is to dart around, evade and wait for the opportune moment to strike. In any case, this will be a tough battle for all four of them but due to her lack of experience in fighting off investigators, this'll be harder for her. "Have any plan? One that wouldn't hurt the ghoul with her is preferable."

Saeko
new_userpic__by_kuvshinov_ilya_dc498mg-pre.jpg
Saeko had been fighting alongside Gorou while she wore her skull mask. This battle was going on for a while, and even she was getting tired. That wasn’t a good sign, Saeko getting tired forced her to be more vulnerable. “Ah, screw this…” Saeko said, voice laced with frustration. Her hand came to her skull mask, pulling it off and throwing it to the floor. “You pigs can never mind your own business, can you?” She asked, throwing her kagune at the investigators until they were done for, but not before torturing one of them by breaking his arms, legs and ribs. She did it slowly as well, as to relish in the sound of the noise. “Gorou-kun…” Saeko turned to him, grabbing his arms. “This is the plan… I’m going to create a large distraction… You should round up the remaining Ghouls and take them to The Legion. It’s the abandoned train station on the other end of town. You don’t have to, but it would be a good idea. You don’t want to have any more blood on your hands than you already have, right?” She asked, “This home is done for. There’s no returning here. We can’t keep fighting until we’re all dead. It’s time to go, Gorou.” Rolling up her sleeves, she was about to jump out of the window she came in, but noticed another Investigator, but with a ghoul at his side. This confused her for a moment until something clicked in her head, and realized she needed to share this information to Gorou. “Hey. Heads up, that’s a controlled ghoul… The CCG started using live ghouls as weapons against other ghouls. Be careful with this one… We’ll need to really collaborate with each other this time.”
Crouching for a moment, a third rinkaku tentacle came out. “Back me up with your chimera… Shoot at the both of them while I do an upfront attack, yeah? Try to escape when I give the signal...” Saeko instructed with a soft smile. She had a feeling a Ghoul working with an Investigator would be bad news, more-so if she was alone. Jumping towards the two, she began to attack with her legs, kicking at the man though they were blocked. She had to use two rinkaku tentacles to block the other ghouls attacks, and use a single one as extra attack support against the investigator. She just hoped the attacks that Gorou would use to support her would work up until the signal.
Akira
a67d5f51bfe20ffede852e3a2a33df5e.jpg“Yes, we shall.” Akira closed her fists and ran behind Johann. This was their usual strategy, she would stay close behind Johann until he broke off in a direction. She would break off into the other direction and flank the target, but there was more than one this time. Akira would be taking on two ghouls, but she had a feeling this would be easy. Jumping into the air, she released her kagune of two thin rinkaku tentacles. It was black, thin and segmented like spider legs. Back on the streets, this earned her the name of Arachnid. It was a name she was proud of. Swinging a leg at one ghoul before he could attack her with his kagune, she knocked him to the side and used two tentacles to stab the two of them. Smiling, she looked over at Johann. “I didn’t see you struggling there, did I?” She joked before nodding and following behind him and into the house. Walking in where there were two dead investigators, and two ghouls, a familiar noise filled her ears. This woman sent shivers down her spine, she watched him break his bones. The sight of her pairing up with Nurari made her freeze in place. Her shaking fear of her bones being snapped and twisted was interrupted by Johann taking her hand in his and asking if she was up to the fight. She would’ve been blushing and happy at this gesture but that wasn’t the case. A nervous smile crept up to her face, letting out an equally nervous and shaky laugh. “H-Hell no! I don’t want to take them on, are you stupid!? That’s Bone Snapper…” She grabbed his sleeves, swallowing a knot in her throat before letting out a shaky breath. “But… It’s our job. We have to win, so I’m willing to risk this with you, Johann-Senpai.” Akira let go of him, stepping forward and unleashing her Kagune. “Sorry Snapper-Senpai, Nurari-Senpai… Please don’t think ill of me.” She smiled, ready to attack and defend Johann.

Akito
6b0ff2e8d015c07152316b1259674b4b.jpgAkito stepped past the sea of dead bodies of Ghouls and Investigators alike. Some hope had filled the CCG once she and Johann had arrived, they being the strongest Investigators currently. Walking past the line of still alive Investigators, she entered hostile territory with Hisao directly behind her. Picking daggers out of her knife holster, she threw them at the very few ghouls that approached her, will little reaction or movement at all. “Stay close behind me Hisao. You could be attacked if you’re not…” Her voice was quiet, her steps quick and light but soon slowed down to a stop in front of two female ghouls. “Hello…” She said quietly, gripping her briefcase gently. “I need to pass, may I?” Akito asked, but heard nothing in response but the two ghouls conversing with each other. Sighing with a hint of frustration in it, she shrugged. “I thought not…” A small click could be heard from her briefcase, a sword materializing within her hands. It was a sword of a chimera kagune. A large white long-sword, almost the size of her with a trigger next to the handle, in which it would fire Ukaku Spikes. “I’ll have to fight my way through. Please note I won’t go easy on you, just because you’re weaker than Bone Snapper… I think I’ll make her my next quinque…” Akito smiled softly, looking back at Hisao. “Please stay behind and only unleash your Kagune until I say, okay?” She smiled at him before dashing at the two women, using her speed, and length of sword as an advantage. She swung and shot ukaku spikes at the both of them, and used her small body and agility to dodge incoming attacks.

~~Gorou Amano~~
Gorou listened to Saeko's directions as he stared at the detective he had felled beforehand, nodding in agreement with the evacuation plan, there was no way they could rebuild this, he knew she was right; it was about time to go elsewhere, uproot. "I have to, if that's the only way to keep them safe." he panted, evidently sounding a little winded, he felt he needed a break, but he was certain he wouldn't be getting one anytime soon-- that is, not until he himself and everyone else were out of harm's way.

His attention was brought to the controlled ghoul and the detective who had just entered, he stiffened a little on the spot watching them, he hadn't believed they were beginning to enslave and weaponize ghouls like he'd heard-- no, he didn't want to believe that, but now that he saw it in the flesh... well, he had no choice. The bladed end's of his bikaku seemed to sharpen each-other in a sort of dance as he observed the newcomers and listened to Saeko's further plans, nodding. "Just... try not to get hit." he'd half-muttered, not quite sure if he was joking or not.

He heard and appeared to consider the controlled ghoul's apology for a moment, responding by crystallizing his wings and opening fire on the assailants. It didn't feel right to accept an apology from someone they were about to cut down. Though, deep down somewhere, he almost wished he could.

cec668e0764ff91e9f85be3d87e85a5f.jpg
It was a bloodbath down there. From where he sat, it looked like both sides were losing. Sure, the doves had ruined the place and slaughtered a good chunk of ghouls, but with Bonesnapper on the scene, well, he bet the death count on the inside was way more than it seemed to be on the outside. When the White Dragon looked up at him, probably expecting help, Hansuke gave a little wave and leaned back. He entertained the idea of helping, of hopping off the roof like a comic book superhero and landing beside the two, of saying some cheesy line about being the backup they called in and giving them the support they needed as the Albino stepped up to face them. He shook his head, shoving a hand over his mouth before a laugh could escape. His shoulders shook.

There was no way in hell he was doing that. Most likely, the Albino would cut him neatly in half before he could land and he'd fall in two pieces at the White Dragon's feet. Hansuke lifted a leg, resting an arm on his knee. The Dragon might be able to put up a fight, but, as for the ghoul beside her... Hansuke gave her a brief once-over. Her mask was kinda cool, along with the whole, er, ninja thing she had going on, but the fact that he didn't even know her name said it all. The ghoul the Albino brought with her was ah, a ghoul. Maybe the unknown stood a chance against him.

Hansuke looked past the four, catching a blond and another sneak into the back of the place. The blond rang a vague bell in the back of his head, but he didn't get a good enough look to place the feeling. Bonesnapper was still inside. Well, they were dead. He went back to watching White Dragon.

She watched the investigator moved towards them, an ukaku sword... just my luck...she mumbled through gritted teeth. It was easy to predict the attacks of your own kagune - but difficult to perform against.

Zena could only respond to her companions question with a simple nod behind, as if to say, we would need to figure it out as we go. She didn't want to voice anything incase the woman caught hearing of it and turned it into an advantage against them.
Zena knew she needed to separate the younger Ghoul from his master - he had no right to be here. "You don't think it's unfair, sending a kid into something like this? And for what reason?"
She lunged towards them, not ranging for any attacks, but held her ukaku above her head, ready to defend as she moved forward, batting away the oncoming spikes with one of her wings crytsallised. She darted at first to the one side of the woman, appearing to prepare for an attack on her left side. She then performed one of her more recognisable moves: more rhythmic, as she just as quickly transferred to the other side of the investigator, sweeping over the top of out held sword, casting a calculated glance and grin towards Elrika, as if to initiate some signal as she used her jump in front of the investigator as a means of obstructing her vision, allowing an oppurtunity for Elrika to attack. Landing on the right side, the same side that the young Ghoul crept a few paces away. It was a reckless move, that no doubt rendered her a few surface scrapes from fired ukaku spikes as she exposed herself a little more in the leap, but she seemed to land quickly and stably enough. Now was Zena's chance to separate them.
Zena attempted to take a swipe towards the investigator's neck and shoulder as she used her ukaku to propel her forwards, subsequently swiping at the younger ghoul to attempt to make him step backwards. Why should we spare him? He's on their side.
She looked over at her companion and the woman, I may be out ranked, but that's no reason to shy away - whatever Saeko might say - her thoughts echoed. Since she had met Saeko, Zena was stronger and more agile by far, having worked and trained to her current rate.
It also became clear to Zena that the observer from the heights had no intention of assisting, which both confused and slightly annoyed Zena. Perhaps he was waiting for his time.
They'd have to put in a pretty display, then.

dde0d1d268a3f4effbcb9e959381b9ca.jpgSaeko dashed at the enemy, feeling the ukaku shots whiz by. Akira had ran towards Saeko, throwing a kick that was aimed towards her chest. Saeko easily read Akira's movements, and threw her own kick that collided with Akira's stomach and threw her into a wall. Akira had definitely felt something break in that moment, her reflexes forcing her to cough up blood all over her sweater. "You're weak greenhorn, maybe I should take you home... Make you stronger." Saeko's voice was stern, almost motherly as she peered down at the injured Akira. Glaring up at the bone snapper, Akira used a kagune spider leg to stab Bone Snapper in the stomach. First, she thought it wouldn't have worked in the first place but seeing Bone Snappers blood on her kagune brought her back to realization. She actually landed a hit on Bone Snapper? Akira felt excited as she stood up and looked over to Johann. "Did you see that?" Akira asked with a smile on her face.

"Never turn your back on the enemy, Arachnid." Saeko said, pushed herself against the kagune and landing a bite on Akira's shoulder. Her teeth dug deep into the flesh, even reaching the collar bone. The force of her bite caused the collar bone to break, making Saeko shudder with happiness at her favorite sound. Akira let out a cry of pain and forced Saeko off her kagune. Her hand clutched the wound as she was brought to her knees. Saeko swallowed the large chunk of flesh, her stomach wound healing quickly. Her kakugan formed in her eyes, and she turned back to Gorou. Nodding gently at him, she turned to the direction of the window that she entered in. Saeko broke out into a dash, flying out of the window where her Kakuja activated.

A heavy thud hit the ground as a deer headed creature with a large black body emerged. Saeko's kakuja, the Wendigo had now appeared. This was her signal to Gorou, as she let out a screeching roar.

His face had a steel hard look, he knew things won't be easy for the both of them. He was thinking of different ways of how things can go, a. the ghouls can attack at the same time and focus on one; b. fight each of them separately; or c. Bone Snapper will act as the main attacker and the other one will provide support. His heart was beating fast, adrenaline was already rushing to his whole body. The thought of Akira being badly hurt... he wouldn't be able to take it. Nurari would be easier for him to take on, rather than heading straight to the other female ghoul and if he uses his Ukaku he'd be a huge thorn for him and his partner.

It was a bit late, he half expected Bone Snapper to attack the both of them, but he was able to block her attack in the nick of time. Akira was able to attack but is being blocked by two of the enemy's kagune. He struck but was stopped by Nurari's projectile almost hitting him. It left a small would on his shoulder and he didn't like it. Johann changed his target, knowing that Nurari is a big hindrance while fighting the more stronger ghoul. He dashed towards Nurari, evading as much as he can before he swept his weapon towards the male ghoul. He would've kept on fighting until he heard Akira squeal in delight.

"NO!" He screamed, knowing that a single hit wouldn't stop one of the most wanted ghoul in Japan. "Akira beh-" suddenly the only sound could be heard is the flesh tearing as the older gjoul's teeth sunk in, the sickening crunch of bones and his partner's scream of pain. He immediately ran to Akira while Saeko dashed out and transformed into a Kakuja. He held her up, a troubled look on his face. "Take a bite." He said with conviction, "If we are going to fight, you're gonna have to then we lead her outside so we can have Akito and her ghoul to help us."

Rika got the meaning of Zena's nod. It was going to be a hard battle, and seeing as how the sword is made of an Ukaku... She would most likely have a hard time dealing with it. "I can't believe they are using someone so young, if... if my brother had been captured, he'd be in the very same position." It was as if her anger was at its peak, "Maybe that's just what the CCG really is. Some a******s who can't see that we're beings with a family and feelings too!" She bared her teeth, all Elrika wants right now is to be able to free the younger ghoul behind the Albino but at the same time she can't stop thinking, if he been made to look dead but is still alive and made into a Controlled Ghoul like the young one over there.

She ran to the other side as Zena lunged towards the CCG operative, watching the scene unfold and waiting for the right time to attack. She admit, she is impressed by Zena's fighting. She really is worthy of the name they gave her. Her companion ghoul for the night had given her a grin that meant for the time to attack. With the kick of her leg, she spun herself to give more weight to her attack but unfortunately the Dove was able to evade at the last moment. She kept on fighting Albino with care as Zena made the younger ghoul her target.

She hoped that at the very least Zena could find a way for to help her after helping the ghoul. She struck and slashed with her tail, keeping a bit of distance between her and the Albino. Even if she'd barely gotten into fights with the Doves and was given a B rank, doesn't mean that her skill actually equates to B. It's not like she wants to be part of the ghoul-hunt of the stronger and more known ghoul that would pretty much mean their promotion. In a miscalculation, she had made a misstep that led to a gash on her leg. She backed away to the moment, letting her wound heal thanks to her earlier meal.

Elrika picked up a large debris near her and threw it to her prosecutor and following after with another attack. "Aren't you a little too young to be such a High-Ranking Investigator?" A questioned that was voiced with hatred, but also with desperation. Questions she wanted answers to. She let her feelings get the better of her that she lost focus on her fight and received a hard blow from her enemy. She found herself on the ground, fatigue suddenly washed over her as if it was a metaphor of how tired she was of the life she has been living.

There are a lot of dead people here, wherever they were.

It was Daichi's first thought as he followed Akito onto the scene. He'd never been in a place like this, the outside. He stared up at the broken windows of the building in front of them, the blood smeared on the walls, and thick in the air. His hunger rose up within him, only to immediately curl back when he caught a whiff of ghoul blood. He covered his nose with his hand, stopping just behind Akito. Two female ghouls stood in her way. One with wings, and the other with a tail. He didn't think much of them until Akito said she'd have to fight, and he watched her briefcase hit the floor.

His gaze sharpened at the two ghouls. These two... they were Akito's enemies. Daichi only took his eyes off them when Akito spoke to him, and her smile made his whole world a shade brighter. She smiled at him. That smile was for him. His eyes lit up and he couldn't help but grin. "Okay!" He kept her her order and stayed behind as she rushed forward, shifting nervously from one foot to the other as she fought off both ghouls. He wanted to help, but he didn't want to be in the way. Should he try and take on the one with a tail like his? Daichi could barely keep up with the winged ghoul.

The decision was made for him when when the winged ghoul swiped at Akito's throat. Daichi watched it happen in slow motion. A buzzing noise filled his ears. He hated her suddenly. Hated her with a fiery rage that burned within him. He didn't know it was possible to hate someone this much. Daichi took a half-step back, then propelled himself off the ground at the winged ghoul. He spun in mid air, turning his tails into a deadly tornado around him as he aimed to take the head off the winged ghoul while her back was turned.

Akito smiled at Daichi, before engaging in combat with the two female ghouls. They spoke of their thoughts about the CCG, but she didn't pay attention to their words. No, she was working and needed to ensure her and Daichi's safety. "It's a natural order for humans to exterminate something that becomes lethal at a certain age. Either exterminate, or detain. It has been like this since the dawn of mankind. Ghoul's can become lethal at least by the age of 4, and surely lethal at the age of 6. That's where humans step in and make sure they aren't lethal." Akito explained while dodging the numerous attacks from the women, pressing a button and swinging her sword at the two of them. After the attack, sharp and deadly ukaku shards shot at them. "So technically, they can become adults kagune wise at the age of 6. You've never thought of it that way, have you?" She jumped back, landing directly in front of Daichi. "I don't have much of a reason at all. I don't harbor any ill feelings towards ghouls or the idea of them. This is just my job." Akito said with an expressionless face. Before looking at Elrika.

"Yes. But I was raised in the system to become a ghoul investigator. I just happened to excel in my physical and mental abilities." She shrugged, just barely dodging the attack aimed at her throat. Pointing her sword at the two of them, she ran to them with Daichi quickly dashing past her. When he went to attack the winged ghoul, she barely caught him through a blind spot in his attack and pulling him back. "Daichi... I know what they did made you angry, but what is something we know about Ukaku ghouls?" Akito asked, staring deeply at him. "Ukaku ghouls are faster than you. They can move as quick as the wind when they feel an attack coming their way... Remember that, I'll teach you more after this over a cup of coffee, yeah?" Akito asked, placing her palm on the top of his head. "If you really want to help, follow behind me closely. I can take on the Ukaku ghoul. You stick to my back like glue and defend my six against the bikaku." She instructed, glaring at the two ghouls. "You put my friend in danger, that was stupid." She said, picking the tip of her sword off the ground and running at them, throwing quick and strong attacks at the White Dragon. When she noticed the kakuja, her head turned slightly to Daichi. Retreat for now to the other investigators, I'll be right behind you."

Akira

Akira spared no hesitation when Johann instructed her to take a bite. Though, she looked around to see where she could bite without hindering his performance and abilities. She decided at the side of the arm, her teeth quickly sinking into the flesh. She made it as quick and painless as she could, ripping it from his arm and swallowing it. Her wound healed, and she stood up. "I'm okay Johann-senpai. Just a flesh wound." Akira smiled at him softly, looking out the window. Her eyes were in shock at the sight of The Wendigo. "I've never seen her kakuja before... Is that what we can really turn into? Hell, that's creepy!" She shivered, taking a deep breath to compose herself. "Okay. I trained for this. We trained for this. In a case of a kakuja, all CCG members must retreat and reunite with each other to fight the kakuja. It's going to take all of us to take down the Wendigo, right? It's a SSS rate..." Akira had a worried expression on her face for a moment, but quickly snapped back to reality.

"That window. I can easily make the jump but humans might not be able to do it. Even if you could, that's right in Wendigo's range. We'd be obliterated immediately. She spoke of being a distraction, so that means the other ghouls would retreat right? We can take the long way and make it to there safely!" Akira clapped her hands, before grabbing Johann's wrist and running out of the room. Akira ran down the stairs and out the back door, dragging Johann behind her. She was right too, it was clear for the most part, only weak ghouls fleeing from them before they could even attack. Soon, they met up with the rest of the team that had barricaded themselves with heavy shields, while the higher ups decided the next course of action. "I guess it's just a waiting game now, huh?" She asked, watching the Wendigo guard the Garden house.

Zena stood to the investigators side, catching her breath for a second, glancing behind her to watch Elrika who advanced upon the woman. She had at least managed to successfully separate her from her charge - who stood a little further away. She turned her back on the young Ghoul, facing the investigator.
She opened her ukaku wings, prepared for her attack, although the oncoming spikes thrown towards her tore at the surfaces of her biceps and one upon her cheek, as she attempted to dodge. She had barely a moment to move, when she watched Elrika fall to the ground, her eyes wide but her movements evidently slowed for a second. "Elrik-"

She felt a gush of wind move towards her, sensing movement to her side and behind her. She had forgotten about the younger Ghoul for moments, but she hastily dodged out the way, twisting her body to face him 'this isn't your place,' her eyes glared. She refused to attack him.
It was evident he was angry - she recognised it. She bounded closer to Elrika, forming some distance between the parties.

Zena observed the investigator spring backwards, pulling the boy back, and peered again at her companion, injured, and without a true mark on the enemy. Had Saeko been beaten? No way. What if there were more? And the other ghouls?

She heard the slicing of air originating from one of the windows of the house behind them, and froze as the familiar roar echoed down the street. Zena knew exactly what it was. The fight must have reached some extremity to force the Wendigo kakuja to emerge, and it always took its toll on its host, much to Zena's concern - although she had grown accustomed to such. A droplet of sweat seeped down the ghouls cheek as she listened to the Wendigo from afar. Saeko...

She couldn't let her thoughts overrun her, not now. After another attack of spikes that pierced Zena's legs but shattered against one of her wings which stretched in front of her a little, Zena stood with her legs shoulder width apart, her hands held up by her chest, placing her fingertips against each other. There was some pause.
"Could you believe, that I do understand your motives?" A faint crackling sound could be heard from the root of the ukaku, the bottom wings were only small and used for support at this stage. "We both have a desire to live, and the boy. But why..." More crackling, as her top most wings grew larger, as well as the bottom. "...why could civility never be an option?"
She was not even in half kakuja - she hadn't intaken enough during the day for that. But her wings were considerably larger, and crystallised at the edges and centre. "That boy, cares for you, you know."
"I will admit, I'm conflicted. I have morals, although I don't think you doves believe that. On any other day, I don't know if I could take the life of someone who is relied upon as you are,"
her red iris' staring towards the boy by the investigators side. "But I see the wounds upon myself and my companion and wonder - we too are relied upon. Why should you be any different to us?"

"So, today-"
Zena thrust herself forward, hurling spikes towards the woman and and forming one of her extended wings into a crystallised and sharp point, "is not that day.."

His tails slashed at empty air. Daichi glared back at the winged ghoul. It didn't matter that she didn't attack him. She'd tried to hurt his most precious person, and he'd take her life for it. He yelped when he was grabbed before he could land and launch himself at the winged ghoul again, ducking his head as Akito lectured him. His anger fizzled like a popped balloon. Already, he'd done something wrong. He didn't want Akito to be angry with him. The thought made him shudder.

Daichi's head jerked up when she said she'd teach him more about ghouls, and his smile stretched so wide his mouth hurt. When she patted him, it was like she'd given him the moon. He nodded eagerly when she told him follow and watch out for the "bikaku" ghoul. He gave the ghoul on the ground his full attention, tuning out Akito's conversation with the "ukaku" ghoul. He didn't understand it. Was it normal to talk to your enemies? To the people that tried to kill you? He'd have to ask Akito later. His... friend. He didn't quite know what it meant, to be someone's "friend", but it made him feel warm and happy inside.

He was prepared to fight when he heard the roar coming from.. something. A creature he'd never seen before. Daichi didn't want to leave Akito, but he didn't want to disobey her and make her angry either. He nodded again, moving a few steps away. He went slowly, trying to keep her in sights for as long as possible.

"Gaaah!" It was the first time Johann was bitten and let himself be bitten by a ghoul. It was fine, it was Akira. It didn't really hurt as much since his body was trained for such things but the sensation surprised him. In any case, he wishes it be a long time before he makes Akira do something like this once again. He applied pressure to his wound and asked Akira to make a tourniquet for him and nodded. "Even for an Elite Investigator she's too much to handle. We need to polish our skills when we get out of here, okay?"

Akira held his wrist and suddenly dragged with her as she ran, still he could hear the roars and the footsteps of the Wendigo while all the lower ranked and Nurari escaped. Truly a fearsome creature. By the time they made it back, his partner commenting about how it was a waiting game and it truly was. Medics were tending his wounds while he couldn't help but stare at Akira. She had grown so much since they first met. He motioned for her to come near, he gave her a bright and genuine smile and a gentle pat on the head. "You did great today."

For the first time, she felt herself relax. The idea of dying here and now seems like a fine idea. Maybe she'll be with her parents or maybe not. "We too are relied upon." She heard Zena say while her mind floated around the dark space. "Why should you be any different from us?" Her heart pounded. Answer, I want answers. She thought to herself. Why should it be? It's not like all ghouls wanted to be born this way. It's not like all ghouls wanted to eat humans. Not all ghouls are psychotic and just wants to live in peace, so why do we have to be hunted? "Today, is not that day." She opened her eyes as Zena spoke of those last words.

The man from above still has no intention to help, the boy valued his... master and Zena, her wing waslarger, sturdier. It shone under the moonlight. Albino, she wants to beat the hunter who killed her brother. Only then she'd be at peace. But it seems fate has other plans for her at the time being, the screams of the Wendigo could be heard. She felt the hairs of her skin tingling as she got up. Her heart beats faster after each second. She found her companion, Zena, fighting the Albino while the young ghoul was ordered to leave. That's right, with the Wendigo's appearance it would be the perfect distraction to get to safety. Waiting for an opportunity, she grabbed Zena's hands and pulled her out of the young girl's reach.

"Sorry, but I know that CCG operatives are supposed to retreat and regroup when a high rated kakuja appears. Same thing has happened once before, and I think it would be a good time to rethink strategies and gain back our strength." She feared that the Kakuja would go crazy and in turn hurt them, Elrika not knowing that she was with the Bone Snapper's wife.

Saeko

Saeko looked at the small people ahead of her. Any stray investigators that were running past her to retreat were met with an untimely demise. Her size was the most deadly part, but she crushed investigators with her large and bone armored hands. Others landed between her jaws, the blood staining the bone deer head and bones crunching as their body gave into the Wendigo. A loud but eerie roar filled the streets as the investigators closest to her were dead. It looked like the distraction was working. All of the CCG was directly in front of her, out of an ear's hearing distance. It appeared that the CCG was now constructing a plan against her. Saeko's red beady eyes wandered until they landed on Zena, her wife. The loud roar directed towards her was telling her to leave while she handled this situation.

When her head turned, she saw all of the CCG's Elite Investigators were in front of the CCG soldiers. The Albino was at the center of them all. There were a few more than she wanted to go against, but their controlled ghouls shouldn't be a problem for Saeko. The two separate teams stared each other down, before a loud screech from Saeko initiated her charge and vice versa.
-
Akito sighed at the two female ghouls, the tip of her sword tapping against the ground. "Unfortunately, I can't give you anymore answers. My duty calls." Akito's pale, almost lifeless eyes looked over them before she turned her back and ran off to join the fight against the kakuja. The Wendigo. Akito had only once stumbled upon the Wendigo in a fight, back when she was just promoted to Elite Investigator. What they had was a rivalry, and they had only fought once and it was a grueling and tiring fight.

Once she had joined up with the rest of the CCG, she took charge of the Elite Investigators. "Alright, fellow investigators. The Wendigo, Bone Snapper's kakuja has appeared. She is an SSS rate and highly dangerous. We'll have to work together to take her down. Johann and I with Daichi and Akira will fight her head on. The rest of you provide support from both sides and her back. Watch the tail! Under all that fur she has a tail right under her kakuhou. Watch the kagune as well, she can use both Kagune and Kakuja at the same time. Only attack when Johann and I have attacked first. This is going to be a take your turn fight. Understood?" The small white haired girl asked, and her fellow Investigators nodded.

They set up in front of the CCG, right across from the Wendigo. Akito and Johann waited for her next move, and when she let out a roar, she charged with her fellow comrades at The Wendigo, their ghoul comrades right behind them. The formation was successful, they surrounded the Wendigo and Akito swung her sword at the kakuja, the Wendigo catching it with her hand and using her Kagune to fight the others, her jaws snapping towards Johann. Akira jumped in and smacked the Wendigo's jaws away with her kagune, smiling at Johann. "Always working together, right?"

Zena's eyes widened as her companion grabbed her, at first confused. She whisked around, glancing again at the investigator and her companion, whilst listening to Elrika's plan. She nodded slowly, her eyes locking onto the Wendigo outside of the house, "I agree, wise decision." The roar that shuddered the very frames of the enormous bone structure called her to safety - she knew exactly what to do.
Zena was also aware that Saeko would need her...the Wendigo was not easily controlled, and she knew that well. She took one more quick glance at the investigator, and turned to Elrika. If they simply ran towards the Wendigo and the house, the plan would be obvious. A sudden realisation spurred Zena's mind into action, laying her hand on Elrika's shoulder and insisting beneath her breath. "Hold on!"
With that, Zena clasped the ghoul around her back and middle, from behind. Zena's structure may have been slender, but she was strong enough to lift the ghoul sufficiently - she leapt to the side into the air, her movements were quick. Most investigators were preoccupied by the appearance of the Wendigo, but hopefully, Zena's fast movements would make an easy escape towards the house. She kicked her foot against the bonnet of a parked car as they landed, producing a dent due to the weight, but providing enough leverage for her to lift them both again into a jump. Zena's arms began to grow tired, but she gritted her teeth, bounding from across the street in zigzags, and prepared to land swiftly enough to continue. "Almost...there," closing the distance between them and the surrounded kakuja.
"Get ready to run."
With that, she landed near the outside of one of the buildings neighbouring the house, helping to steady Elrika as they continued by running. They were a good distance away from the female investigator and the young controlled ghoul, simply a few paces away from the Wendigo, who looked about itself to identify each investigator that came running. They were now hiding around the corner of the wall of the neighbouring house, looking out onto the street from the alleyway, and watching the bone-clad beast fend itself against the group.
Zena panted, her stamina easily drained, but gave a smile towards Elrika. "You alright?" She looked the ghoul over, observing any injuries, resembling more a fussing sister than a comrade in battle, although she can't have been much different in age. She glanced back towards the Wendigo, preparing for the eventuality of her having to join it - she wouldn't and couldn't abandon Saeko, even then - and to potentially to calm it, if worst came to worst. Zena swallowed, attempting to suppress the tension that caught in her throat, watching the beast - prepared at any moment to race out. She leaned against the side of the wall, peering around the edge.
Come on, Saeko. Be vigilant...

The Wendigo's arrival was Hansuke's cue to leave.

Things were about to get messy. He watched The Wendigo turn several investigators into blood shaped stains on the pavement and shook his head. The CCG would call for backup, and Hansuke had very little interest in being caught in the middle of a war he didn't want to be part of. And, Hansuke knew when he was outmatched. The CCG couldn't reach him. He had no doubts that if The Wendigo wanted to, she could. Hansuke gave the White Dragon a quick salute—he might've given her hiding spot away, but he didn't really care—turned, and ran.

He leapt across the roof, grinning when he felt the pull of gravity and the wind whipping through his clothes. If he was human, his more dangerous parkour stunts would've already killed him. Too bad. With the CCG having their hands full, it was easy enough to get back to his apartment undetected. Hansuke swung through the window and narrowly missed colliding with a stack of textbook he left on the floor.

What a productive night. He'd terrified a ghoul into staying out of his territory, learned that the unknown ghoul with the White Dragon had a grudge against Albino, and learned more about their abilities. Hansuke shut and locked the window, then hid his 'ghoul outfit' in a moldy spot beneath a loose floorboard under his bed. At least he'd give whoever found it chronic lung problem. Assuming they were human. Hansuke scratched the back of his head and flopped down onto his bed.

With his friend, Akito, who is still not back it was Johann's role to get the group together. He clapped his hand, a definite sting on his upper arm but he paid it no mind. He was used to pain, his body is trained to be able to endure pain. "Alright, rest up and get your strength back for those who came back from battle but be vigilant because the moment Akito comes back we strike back." His voice was authoritative, his eyes were sharp, his main focus on thinking of strategies while Akira was by his side.

"The others, get into position. Wendigo will be here any minute," He moved forward watching all the soldiers and doves with him. "Those with firearms, stay at the back and provide support and Investigators follow our, the elite investigators, direct orders in battle. Understood?" He got a 'Sir, yes sir.' from them. It would be one of the hardest battles all of them will face. This was no easy peasy kill and have to be taken with the utmost seriousness.

Once Akito has joined them, Daichin in tow. Directing everyone with almost the same strategic position he had said earlier before giving tips on how to handle the Kakuja. This made him smile, two minds are more brilliant than one. Wendigo roared once more as she came into view. People were in battle formation, waiting for the right moment to strike. Akito jumped on the ghoul with her sword and held it. Johann saw this as a chance to attack and called for Akira, who in turn, landed smack on the jaw. "YES!" He felt so proud at Akira at the moment, the moment she landed he gave her a wide smile and said, "Always. Now let's go do some more damage."

Johann quickly pulled out his quinque. The double saber glinted red, he had all the intention of taking away the enemy's center of attention while Akira tries to land blows and keep Wendigo's attention off of Akito.

Her knees buckled by the sudden experience. It was odd enough for her that the Wendigo had looked in their direction and roared. It made her wonder what kind of connection Zena had with the Kakuja but the feeling of seemingly flying had made her weak in the knees, she doesn't want to do that again if it can be avoided. "Yes. Just not used to the thing that you did but fine nonetheless."

With all the flying and running, she had failed to notice that they were just a few steps away from Bone Snapper. Watching the battle that is taking place, seeing Zena watching intensely. "Wait... a-are we helping Bone Snapper? Are you not one of the ghouls who lived in that building?" She felt so dumbfounded at the moment, of course she should've realized the obvious when she saw Zena with the-now-most-wanted Kakuja in their ward.

tumblr_ofxsafSWwW1qfu9ibo1_400.pngSaeko was braced for attacks when Akito came towards her. They were heavy attacks, both from the Controlled Ghouls and the Elite Investigators. They truly earned their rank. They spared no hesitation and time when it came to her, they were faster and more coordinated than she was. Her kakuja was different, it wasn't a traditional shell or scaly surface. Saeko had tough hide and dense fur instead, a genetic mutation from incest. It was a major weakness for her, and they were already tearing through the tough skin. Akito and her comrades had ordered them to take out her Achilles tendon, forcing her to just her hands and knees. Akito had ordered Daichi and Akira to attack The Wendigo at her sides, just below the ribs. They were too fast for The Wendigo to catch up, only able to use one hand to fling a handful of enemies away. Though even in her trouble, she managed to kill a couple of Akito's underlings.

"Daichi, Akira, attack her head on!" Akito yelled to the two ghouls, which Akira initiated with no hesitation. It caught Saeko's attention, which earned a roar from her, opening her jaws to attempt to catch Akira. Just as she latched on the young ghoul's arm, she felt a stab in the nape of her neck. Ripping Akira's forearm from her body, earning a cry from Akira. Akito had landed a heavy attack in the nape, before ripping down the back of the wendigo.

Saeko's Kakuja body froze before dropping into a pool of a black substance. Saeko's somewhat animalistic contorted body with remnants of the deer skull attach to her face, was now exposed to The Elite Investigators. Akito spared no hesitation slashing at her leg and midsection. Missing a leg and a large cut going through her abdomen, she coughed up blood and collapsed against the ground. Barely coherent, she faced the direction of where she last saw Zena. Not giving in to any investigators, she used her weakened arms to crawl towards her, gently calling out her name before Akito pressed a foot against her back and aimed her sword at Saeko's head.

Zena hesitated, and broke a fraction of a grin. Elrika could not have overseen the differences in the situation - having made her acquaintance for merely an hour. "uh- not quite. We only came to hel-"

Her mouth dried, it felt as though a stone dropped its dead weight inside her chest. Saeko. She had averted her gaze from the fight for a single moment, and already the CCG had the upper hand - and were merciless at that. Zena's limbs seemed to freeze as she watched the Wendigo attempt to spar each attack, and failing, the sound of leathered flesh tore - tearing at her own sense of panic. Zena was not prone to exposing any visual sign of alarm or trepidation - she had learned in expectation of leading the Legion as their queen's significant other, she had to be the steadfast one, alongside Saeko's hand. But in this moment, her guard was down. Her words caught in her throat, as the ghouls calculated their attacks, homing closely on the already out-numbered beast.
Zena only managed to release a dry and rasped yell, 'SAEKO!' She turned to Elrika, already stepping out from the corner, she outstretched her palm to Elrika and deliberated in commanding tone, "Don't move." Her wings were cast behind her, her eyes flickered both a desperate and angered crimson.

The white haired investigator- the albino - landed a strike to the nape, and the sound of the Wendigo's flesh being ripped down it's spine was enough to cloud Zena's judgement and race to the ghoul's aid. Her chest heaved, it was the fastest she had ran since...
She couldn't even begin to think of losing Saeko. No, it wasn't even a possibility, and not just on her own measure. Saeko was attempting to move towards something, someone. Where? Who to? Was it...?

With another yell, Zena sunk low, and knocked the sword pointed towards Saeko's head, as the body lay contorted and still half in its bone-clad form behind her. It was enough to knock the balance of the investigator, giving Zena a split second to shield Saeko - at this point she was crouching in front of her, arms and ukaka stretched behind her over the fallen Ghoul, facing the investigators in front of them with complete defiance. "Enough! Enough! This is over." Zena could observe the black substance that crawled from beneath and behind her, only making her cause more desperate. The investigator she had knocked regained his composure and stood in the same position, sword to Zena's head. She'd have happily taken it, if it ensure Saeko's survival, but she knew that even then those chances were minimal - so there would be no more sacrifices that day.

She flicked her irises to her side, feeling the movement behind her. As the albino swung for yet another midsection strike against the bloodied ghoul, but Zena whisked herself around, stretching herself over Saeko's back, as she kneeled on all fours against the floor over her, her elbows grazed against the ground as she leaned over the body.
It was a reckless move. It was very close. And Zena nearly buckled under the force of the landing sword - catching and forcing it upwards with her wings which were chipped by the impact; she muttered, almost with a growl, "I said..." she shoved the sword back from its origins, and swiped at the investigator. She was not in close enough range to really hurt her, but she managed to throw the sword of her reach and cause her to stumble backwards. "ENOUGH."
Zena panted, her chest heaving, "this won't end quickly...Even if you defeat her now, repercussions are sure to ensue. " She didn't just mean herself, she meant the Legion, she meant Izumi.

With that, her kagune still braced behind her, she shifted the ghoul's body, turning it over with all of her strength, and pulling Saeko to her, practically cradling her. The bone mask was still in place, and it was hard for Zena to grab a hold around it, but she fastened her arms around the shoulders and neck, the other arm across Saeko's front, she was only just about conscious. Blackened blood everywhere...it made her sick to her stomach. She had to get Saeko away from there and back to safety with help, but she was unsure of the investigators movements. She placed her hand gently on Saeko's outer arm as she held her, still eyeing the investigators around them, defying any other move they could think of landing.

Akito barely managed to dodge The White Dragon's attack, jumping back and making sure Daichi was safe. Apart from a few scratches he looked fine, but she was sure he was still a bit scared from such a big operation and a strong opponent. Akito began to get frustrated since The Wendigo managed to escape. "Tch... We'll retreat for now. Clean up these bodies, contact the deceased soldier's family. We'll have to arrange a mass funeral. Burn the ghouls." Akito instructed to a separate, relatively unscathed team of operatives. They were the lucky ones. A sigh escaped from her lips before she patted Daichi on the head gently. "You did well, Daichi. You must be tired, huh? Go back to the car, wait for me there. We'll get some coffee before going home." Akito smiled and dismissed the young boy before approaching Akira. The Controlled Ghoul aid team were patching her up, since she suffered heavy injuries. She suffered a right arm amputation and a few impalements. Akito wasn't worried of that though, she had something to discuss.

Akira had a solemn expression on her face. One that said she was guilty. After all, she was feeling more guilty than pained. "Akira..." Akito's voice was stern and Akira just nodded. "You've bitten the hand that feeds you. The CCG has been very lenient to you since you're cooperative. But you know the rules, you cannot bite your partner investigator. We understand it was an emergency situation, but remember. Your job is to lay your life on the line for your partner." Akito explained, while Akira kept silent and only nodded her head in agreement. "You will be removed from field duty and placed in solitary confinement until the council decides the next course of action."

Akira nodded her head. "I understand." She turned her eyes towards Johann, giving a small smile of sympathy and mouthing an apology. Two CCG officers escorted her to a van for prisoner ghouls, though she was the only one in it.

Saeko was now back with her wife, the retreated ghouls, and The Legion members. She hardly remembered what happened, but she was aware her wife saved her from another death. Her consciousness slowly began to regain itself before she was fully aware of her surroundings. Saeko smiled softly and looked around, her head in her wife's lap as the deer skull quickly deteriorated into a black substance. "So most of you made it out okay. I'm glad to see that." Saeko groaned as Zena helped her stand, the snapping and crunching of multiple bones being heard before she was fully set back in place.

She did so without so much as a flinch, as if it were normal for her. Since she judt left her wendigo body, she was almost completely nude. Her brother, Izumi, who was a Legion leader came to her side and wrapped a black tattered cloak around her. Taking a deep breath, she turned towards Gorou, Elrika and the others. "You have been saved by The Legion. I know not all of you made it out but the ones who did are now in The Legion's debt. You are now apart of something bigger. That includes you too, Gorou. And you, lady." She said as she pointed at her. "Anybody that refuses will be executed on the spot. I hope I'm understood. Now that's over with, I'm Saeko Nagasawa, The Queen of Legion. This is my wife, Zena Nagasawa and my brother, the lieutenant of The Legion." She pointed at both of them before turning. "Let's head to head quarters then.
