A Huge Blunder
Today, I think I might have messed up just a bit.

It's been nearly a week since I accepted Rose's offer to live in her home. I thought it was a little bit weird that she'd invite me, a complete stranger, to stay with her, but after few days here, I can see why she was so comfortable with it. I wasn't the only one she invited. I was a bit surprised by how many people this place could hold, but even more than that, I was shocked to see the other residence, most of them being species that I have never seen or heard of before. I know, surprising thing to say coming from a Mothman, but even I can be a little star struck sometimes.

Regardless, I think I may have unintentionally come off as rude to some of the other residence here. I've made sure to apologize for it, but today I don't know if apologizing would be enough. Being new, I thought it would be nice to greet everyone in the house, but seeing as the house is huge, I thought I would separate the rooms into sections and visit three rooms a day. Didn't want to be too excessive. So, today I went to room number 17, I gave them numbers so it'd be easy for me to remember. When I knocked on the door I was met with a pair of sharp red eyes. It was a bat person ... a batman? Puns aside, I greeted them and introduced myself which they did the same.

This is the part where I mess up.

After that, I made a comment about their being a lot of men here, which at that point, a majority of the residence were. Vesper, as they introduced themselves, stop to correct me. He was actually a she, and I remember my face getting bright red, although now that I look back on it, that was probably impossible because of my exoskeleton, but to make a long story short I embarrassed myself. I apologized to her, and at the peak of my embarrassment I darted back here where I've been hiding for the past three to four hours. Just thinking about it makes my face tingle. Why did I do that??? I should've just kept my mouth shut!

That was so rude of me! I should have stayed and received whatever punishment she gave me. I feel like such a dunce!
...

After thinking about it, I think I'm gonna go apologize again. With a gift of course! I wonder what bats like. Fruit? Was she a fruit bat? Hmm, I don't want to assume ... look at where that's gotten me. Oh! What about flowers? You can't go wrong with flowers. Maybe Rose would let me pick some from the forest or the garden.

Yeah, that's what I'll do. Vesper, here I come! ... Maybe I should bring cookies too. Just for good measure.

Flo is Actually a Queen
I saw something quite interesting today.

It's been a little over a month now, and I think I've remembered the names of everyone who currently lives here. Although I'm sure there will be more names and new faces to add to the list since it seems like Rose has a knack for randomly inviting monsters during her travels. I think it's kind of cool, really. Thanks to her, I've had the pleasure of meeting all sorts of people, and I'm not just referring to their shapes and sizes. In all honesty, there are such a diverse cast of monsters that live in this house that I'm sure I'll never be bored.

However, there is one person I haven't had the chance to talk with. We've met walking pass one another, and other than the casual greetings, we go our separate ways. She's a little strange (I find myself using that word a lot lately). Her name is Flo, and apparently she's a type of Plant Nymph who lives next to the garden of the house, but she doesn't fit the image of the nymphs in the story book (I know, I shouldn't be stereotyping, but still). She doesn't have wings, smooth skin, or mesmerizing eyes (they're more beady than I imagined). No, she's kinda like lettuce with legs and arms ... that talks. I can't help but chuckle sometimes, though I know that is rude of me, but I find her actual appearance to be super cute. Don't think she would like to hear that though, so I keep it to myself.

Anyway, today I tried to strike a conversation with her, but she wasn't in her room so I searched around the house to find her. I'm still getting used to the floor design and since the house is ginormous, I got lost quite a few times (Will never tell anyone that. It's too embarrassing.) Finally, I managed to find her in the garden. As I was walking in behind the pink camellia, I saw something that maybe I shouldn't have.

She was standing in the middle of cabbages planted along side a column of lettuce that looked much like herself, but less active and didn't really talk. I don't know what she was doing at first, but she spread her arms out and looked down at the other vegetable as if they were beneath her (Technically they were, since she was slightly taller than they were). Then I heard her yell, her voice was pretty loud, surprising when you think she's essentially looks like a sentient ball of lettuce.

"If you want water then worship me you peons."

I was shocked. Was she talking to me? I realized that statement had been to the plants as they suddenly began to shake from side to side, their leaves rustling as if they were a vegetable orchestra. Never thought that would be a phrase I'd ever say ... "vegetable orchestra", but that's what I saw. They almost seemed to be alive when Flo asked them to continue singing for her.

...
Then she saw me. Flo must have done this often because she wasn't embarrassed at all, in fact she relished in an odd sort of self-satisfaction. At that point, I couldn't really leave without asking her abour what I had just witness to which she happily explained that she was the queen of this garden, and that she could speak to plant life as long as they were alive. I was somewhat skeptical, seeing as she called them peons, she looked more like a dictator threatening to starve them if they didn't worship her, but that is something I'll also keep to myself. We talked for a few minutes before she went back to her duties as "Queen of the Garden" . That was my first conversation with her, and it was quite fun albeit short lived.

I wonder if I should address her as Her Majesty from now on. Though I don't think I want to be called a peon anytime soon.

Well, that's it for today's journal.

Entry #49 A Giant in the Living Room

Journal Entry #49

A Giant in The Living Room
I just discovered something new. Giants can live in houses!

I did a bit of exploring today, to better acquaint myself with the house. I didn't know how big the place was when I first arrived here, but now that I've walked through it I have to admit that it was like a maze. How anyone can live here without getting lost is beyond me, but if I want to make it here I know I have to get used to the winding hallways and strange doors that are littered around this house.

Today, I found myself walking down a different hallway, it took longer than usual to get through, but eventually I reached the exit. When I got out though, who would've guessed I would have stumbled upon the living room. It was quite spacious, a great place for gaming, but I don't think Rose has any of the latest console, so I'm sure I wouldn't be able to set up camp here. Plus, I doubt there's any good wifi signal that extends all the way out to the middle of the forest. Though that would be awesome if one existed.

Since I was there, I decided to look around the space. It was big, that was obvious. There was an old box TV that was in the middle of the room. It took me awhile to recognize it since I had never seen a TV that shape and size before, I didn't even know it was a TV until I saw the dials next to the screen. Beside it was a game cube, a video game classic, though I haven't touch one for a few years, so I'm sure my skills are a bit rusty. In front of the TV was a huge couch that could fit a family of ten humans, maybe even more. I'm not the greatest when it comes to estimations, but it was incredibly big. Behind the couch was something bigger, a statue that looked so real that I couldn't help but gawk at it. It was gigantic, standing around eight to nine feet tall and weighing what I could only assume was a lot.My first thought was , who puts a statue in the middle of the room? Better yet, who puts a statue behind a couch?

The answer was simple. No one, because that wasn't a statue, it was a person.

He spoke out of nowhere, I guess my staring had confused him a bit. I mean, if I was being a stared at by a Mothman, I'd probably be confused too. Admittedly, I was shocked, in my mind, a statue was talking to me. Though I think my curiosity got the best of me when I asked if he was a magic statue that Rose brought to life which he swiftly answered no. His name was Azneighthon. Aznathon... Azneyathon? I don't really know how to spell it, so if you sees this later Azneyathon then just letting you know that I'm sorry for butchering your name. I tried. (Please don't be mad at me!)

Of course, I apologized immediately once he told me he lived here. He didn't seem too bent up about my mistake, but I couldn't help but to keep saying sorry. Eventually, he let me know that it was okay, so I stopped. Though, I continued to peak upwards at him since this would be my first time seeing a giant. He wasn't as big as I thought them to be, but then again he might still be growing and if he was then I'm sure he'd be a big as a skyscraper because he was already bigger than a truck! He let me touch him while explaining very briefly about his kind. Wasn't much of a talker which I understood completely. After that, I asked if it was okay to take a picture of him which he said yes too. I can't even explain how excited I was when I took a selfie with him. Now I hang that picture on my wall. He doesn't know I put it there ... at least I don't think he does.

Imagine me and a Giant becoming friends...

Oh, how exciting! I wonder if he plays video games. That would be super amazing! If not, maybe he'll let me teach him.

I can't wait to become friend with him.

Giants are so cool!

Entry #56 The Werewolf Strike Again

The Werewolf Strikes Again
I used to think wolves were cute, and I still do, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

I think I'm a very understanding person. I'm not strict nor am I quick to judge people, but there's something that's been bothering me lately. At first, I didn't know what was going on. I'd leave a few things sitting around and the next thing I know they're either gone or have wet sticky stuff all over them. What's worse, I sometimes find muddy paw prints at the scene of the crime. Now I don't like to accuse people without evidence, but I only know a few people in this house who have paws like those. However, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I decided to set a little trap. I was going to find out who the culprit was, by every non-violent means possible.

So a few days ago, I set one of my favorite cups, a white mug with a blue whale printed on the side of it, out on the table in plain sight. Since I'm always in the kitchen cooking, it wouldn't be too suspicious if I left my cup out. Once that was set, the plan was to patiently wait inside of one of the pantry doors and hold a stake out until I found out who was messing with all my stuff. The first couple of days passed with nothing happening, just a sense of loss and terrible back pains from sleeping in the pantry. Though I felt a sense of dread, almost giving up my search entirely, but I decided to give it three more days. If they didn't show up in those three days I would accept my defeat and give up. Luckily, trouble doesn't stay quiet for long.

Today, the second night of my three day quota was when I began to hear something stirring in the kitchen. It moved quietly, only its footsteps were audible. The chair moved slightly, then a cabinet, and soon my mug began to shake. Finally, I found him. I slammed the door open, hit the light switch on only to see a red wolf with his paws hovering over my precious mug.

I knew it! I didn't want to believe it, but I had a sneaking suspicion that those paw prints belonged to Trouble, a Werewolf also in Rose's care.

I tried to catch him, but as it stood, I was no match for his speed. I could have caught him if I had flew, but the kitchen was too small for me to do so without causing a lot of noise. In the end, he got away, my mug falling off the counter during the little skirmish. Not only did I lose sleep, but a dear friend that I will never get back.

This journal entry is dedicated to Mr. Blowhole, my one and only mug. You will be dearly missed.

...
...
...

It's about 3am, I think I'm gonna go to bed soon. I deal with Trouble tomorrow. I'll make sure to scold him good and get all my stolen stuff back. For you Mr. Blowhole. For you.
