••Blythe Harlow••
Blythe stared at the gate as it closed behind them. Her muscles tensed again before looking over at the opening of the vehicle. It fell with a lifeless boom and she frowned as the particles settled around it. “Beautiful.” She mumbled before unbuckling herself and frowning at David. Rolling her eyes, she hoped down. “Or don’t okay, whatever floats you’re boat.” She said not wanting to hear anymore complaining once they were already here. She watched Will as he spoke, frowning as he mentioned he was going to help with Ta Kai.

You gotta be kidding me. She thought and was about to move forward until she heard something burst out from the distance. Blythe turned around and immediately felt sparks pulse around her, expecting it to be Deviant until she realized it was one of them. She was shocked. Then, her face fell into annoyance as everyone looked on. Not to mention someone else coming to her aid. She crossed her arms and looked over at Will. “Ah, Mr. Perfect.” She pointed her thumb to scene. “I found something unusual, hurt civilians, as well as someone injured. Gosh, looks like you might have your hands full and actually can’t help us with Ta Kai. It’s a shame. But, not a total loss as there are already more than capable people that can do it.” She was going to give him a pat on the shoulders, but opted for a thumbs up. As she started to head northwest, glad at least Will wouldn’t come. She didn’t mind the rest of the members, but still.

She wanted to get to business.

“God, you’re more of an idiot than I thought you would be.” Will grumbled to himself, rolling his eyes at Blythe.

“Fortunately for you, I’ll still be attending to Ta Kai.” He called over, a bit of a smirk on his face. At this point, it would genuinely satisfy him to irritate the Tamer.

Will strode over towards the scene, kneeling in between some of the medics crouched near the boys and the woman who seemingly had dropped out of the sky. The pair of boys looked to be alright, some burns here and there. “Yes, we have adrenaline and morphine. Sir, our medics will move her and the boys to our vehicle. They can be treated safely there and transported out of the city to one of our medical units in Paris.” Will spoke gently, setting a kind hand on Conrad’s shoulder, offering a reassuring smile.

A medic rolled a gurney, two others lifting the young woman and gingerly laying her upon it, moving her into the armored vehicle. Tre was quickly hooked up to a oxygen mask, a tank nearby being turned on. A slight hum filling the makeshift hospital room.

“This is embarrassing, well not for me, but for them, you know?” A blonde haired man murmured to a rather grotesque looking creature, his hand intertwined within its mane-like gathering of fur. It looked to be a twisted, ungodly morph between a lion and a bloodhound, copious amounts of saliva leaking from its mouth and cascading around two rows of razor teeth.

It gave a loud huff in response, rolling a long tongue between its canines. A purr that mimicked the sound of a jet engine, roared from its chest.

“I agree, that one seems like a brat. I’ll be happy to see Ta Kai rip them apart, go help him out, won’t you?” He sweetly whispered to the abomination, as if it were a long-time friend, or even a pet.

The beast nudged him in return, getting up from its haunches and clambering down from the wreckage to complete its commands.

Bird-Woman's pulse was strong and Leo didn't see any major injuries, so he doubted blood loss would be an issue. Still, he wouldn't be surprised to hear if she was grounded for a while due to broken wings. That was a very hard landing. Regardless, he had a job to do. As she was taken away, Leo turned and faced the man asking about the adrenaline and gave him a quick once-over. "I advise getting that looked at," he said, gesturing at the gash on his leg. "All too easy to get an infection in situations like this."

With that he turned and ran after David, knowing Blythe and Will would be right there with him.

Ravager had left his perch and was climbing whatever he could around the group of Deviants in an attempt to locate stragglers. He spotted a Deviant running full speed towards him. The Deviant looked like some unholy cross between a cougar and a bear, though with a sizable lump on its head. That wasn't an injury a Deviant like that one would get easily, and it quickly became apparent that it was running from something. Were the enemies here already? Only one way to find out.

Ravager scuttled down the road, looking, listening, and even smelling for anything out of place. It was nearly impossible to do so with the absolute chaos going on, but he soon heard the sounds of footsteps. Small ones. Enemies, surely. He stopped at a destroyed building on the corner and peaked through the destruction. Sure enough, there was a man, foolishly walking alone (Dan). Ravager looked around and saw a large piece of rebar jutting out of a piece of concrete. He ran over and pulled it free along with a sizable piece of concrete. He then wasted no time rounding the corner and chucking the rubble at the lone man.

Tempest Brekkr
As Will directed everyone, Tempest hopped out of the vehicle and into the destruction of the city. Watching as medics came to take two kids from a hybrid woman, Tempest made her way south and switched her earpiece on so that she could be reached and hear others along the way. How she would find Alistair, she had no clue, he would probably find her or she'd run into a deviant first. The air was thick with smoke and clouds of dust flew around her as she trekked through the southern end of the city. Alistair would most likely be in one of the more put together buildings in the city, most likely a high rise or something sleek to give him a rush of power. He was probably arrogant as evil men typically were.
It was an odd sight to see the normally bustling city so desolate and quiet, at least in the southern part of the city. It was if the city itself were holding its breath and waiting for this raid to be over. There wasn't a citizen or deviant in sight, no sign of life whatsoever. Through the dirty air, Tempest spotted a cluster of buildings completely in tact. She was willing to bet that she would run into something living there. With no time to waste, she picked up her speed and made a beeline for the group of buildings in front of her. Suddenly, the rubble infant of her erupted in dust and Tempest quickly made herself invisible with the help of her illusions. Expecting something big, Tempest silently grabbed one of her pistols and pointed blindly into the newly-formed dust. However, it was a tiny deviant, almost cute in its size. No mercy for the deviants, though, as Tempest unleashed three bullets into the creature. After that, she checked for any signs that it was alive and after finding it to be quite dead, she resumed her run towards the buildings.

Sloan heard a crackling voice come through a channel in her ear. It was familiar but distorted, she quickly adjusted the signal and a label appeared before her eyes. "Zahraa, strategist" it then showed her location as a blip on a large map. Sloan smiled hearing the frustrated curse. "Zahraa, where've you been?" Sloan seemed to laugh a bit as she said this while simultaneously jumping from the car. Her stoic personality faltered a bit. "Can you lend a hand with, uh, what are you in?" Sloan could see the blip moving at high speeds but lacked any further details."A helicopter? Jet? We're looking for Alistair Heathers." Sloan looked around at the crushed and demolished buildings, soaking in evidence about the types of deviants. "We could use an eye in the sky locating him." With that she briefly turned her transmission back to the one that connected her team. She saw Tempest disappear, she picked up speed to keep on her trail.

When Sloan heard the sounds of three shots and then the small deviant slump to the ground, she felt an instant sickness. "Tempest, what the fuck?" She sounded sad more than angry. Sloan quickly marked the location of the deviant's body on the map and kept running in the direction she had last saw Tempest moving. "We don't have to kill them!"

Dan was just walking down the street, as one does after they have a run in with your average everyday pumabear. When suddenly some very rude ugly lizard whatsit came around the corner and tossed a piece of concrete at him. "Oh no a piece of concrete, my weakness whatever shall I" Dan said sarcastically as the piece of concrete flew at him once it'd closed the distance their were two rapid blurs of movement in quick succession. Causing the piece of rubble to fly off into seperate directions as pebbles. "Listen shitface, if ya wanna fight, please just come at me" as cocky as Dan sounded he wasn't sure he liked his odds against this thing, Dan's speciality was hand to hand combat, seeing what his power was, but unfortunately that was also how most of these monsters liked to fight, but on the other hand it would probably only take one or two well place punches to end the fight, unless of course this thing had some kind of trick up its sleeve.

Then Dan got another idea, most of the time these things weren't too smart. He unholstered his sidearm and fired off three warning shots. Two were intentionally meant to miss, though the creature may feel the air whizz by as the bullets passed, the last was aimed to land right upon the creature's shoulder and give it a bit of pain, of course only if his aim was spot on which it usually was but no one was perfect and only time would tell, and of course if shit went south he could always use his trusty plan B.

Conrad looked at Tre, specifically her wings. He carefully felt the structure of each of them, nothing broken thankfully, just burnt and banged up. She had been transferred into a makeshift hospital in the armoured van. Both the guy in charge (Will) and a second man (Leo) confirmed that the was indeed adrenaline available.

Leo also pointed out to him about the nasty looking gash on his leg. "I've had worse, comes with the territory I guess. But thanks for the tip" he replied as he climbed inside the van. Glancing down at Tre he muttered as an afterthought and mostly to himself "she probably hates my guts. A lot. Yay life" He looked around at all the medical supplies, before taking what he needed.

Taking hold of a syringe of adrenaline he carefully injected it into Tre's left forearm with an ease that suggests she had done this before. He then put antiseptic on the burns and carefully bandaged them up.

Then sitting down at the open doors of the van, he started treating himself, carefully sterilising the wound, hissing slightly. Then made his skin turned to bark and a large scab-like structure formed over the cut. He then dressed this a with a bandage. This was all done with steady hands and he didn't seem to be freaking out too much.

Tre felt herself slowly coming around. Her eyes blinked open, she was in the back of some kind of van/makeshift ambulance thing, thankfully the door was open, otherwise, she would have had to endure another wonderful claustrophobia-induced panic attack. Her wings were throbbing and by the smell of it burnt, but nothing was broken. She wiggled them gingerly, everything was working.

Then she became aware of the oxygen mask on her face. She reached up to remove it and then noticed the bandaging on her arms- burns. "The boys! Were they alright?" she wondered to herself.

Slowly she raised herself up into a sitting position, despite the protests of the medics around her. Her wings throbbed and a dull ache at the back of her head signified a concussion of sorts. She groaned slightly, the pain making itself heard.

It was then she saw the figure sitting down in the doorway bandaging themselves up. Her eyes widened, "no, it cant be. He's dead, you saw him die, he's nothing more than Deviant food. This had to be a hallucination or someone playing a very bad joke on her" were the thoughts racing through her brain at a couple of million miles an hour.

To the outside observer, the blood seemed to drain from her face- she looked as if she had seen a ghost. She made some kind of gesture with her hands, a nervous tic maybe? But in reality, it was a name- Conrad

By the time Ravager’s meal started firing at him, he was already on the move. He ducked and rolled to the side to avoid the bullets, the first two missing, but the man’s aim was good and he felt the third piercing his arm just below the shoulder. No matter. It might hurt like a gunshot wound, but both the pain and the wound would be gone in no time. His biggest concern was what the man did to the rubble. With destructive power like that, Ravager thought he would make an excellent Deviant. Too bad.

Ravager felt him mind clouding over and physically shook it to try and help keep it clear. A direct attack would be very dangerous against this man. He saw the piece of rebar he threw earlier, now deformed and free from the concrete, but still a solid piece of metal. He moved off to the side instead of moving directly for his target and picked it up, still on all fours. It was a tip Sorn had given the smaller Deviant: act unintelligent to keep their expectations low. Acting bestial all on fours helped with that image.

Closing in on the man, Ravager swung the piece of rebar towards the mans torso while swiping low with the claws in his free hand. He made sure to come in from an angle instead of head on, thinking that would be more effective as though the man couldn’t turn if he wanted. If the man was paying close attention, he could notice the gunshot wound on his arm was no longer bleeding and significantly smaller.

David ran around one of the corners. This was the moment he knew he screwed up. A horde of deviants stood in his path, snarling and angry, just wanting to destroy something.
He could barely make out Sorn behind them, though he was amused. Sorn was amused at the sight of the man.

“This is what a charge is,” Sorn muttered to himself as he let out a guttural growl that sent all deviants heading towards the enemy.

“We have a bit of a problem,” David announces over the coms as he began to run for his life, choosing life over being trampled.

“Hey hey! Is everything alright?” Will called out as he carefully stepped through the cargo area of the vehicle, being careful as to not knock over any of the medical devices that had been set up for their new patient.

The woman looked absolutely terrified to him, and paler than a sheet of freshly made paper. Will silently prayed she wouldn’t go into an anxiety-induced frenzy, making his way over to her to have a quick check on her current mental health. Situations like these could often wreck havoc on a person’s brain.

The young Prefect had started to come to understand that she hadn’t spoken a word, or even made a sound by that matter. Perhaps she couldn’t speak? Or was deaf? He did see her use a couple of hand signs, so she could communicate in some form.

“Sir, you appear to have some sort of connection with her. I apologize for this, but is she deaf or mute?” Will glanced over at Conrad, giving a sheepish smile. He felt as though he was intruding on the two.

When suddenly David spoke up, and a loud rumble sounded in the distance.
“Oh shit.”

The Beast prowled down the street, staying with in more dimmer areas, as well as large gatherings of rubble. Instincts had lead it to behave this way, as if hunting for a large piece of prey. It didn’t want to be seen, nor heard.

The sound of two feminine voices caught its attention, quickly taking its place behind a hill of concrete. It sat on its haunches, calculating the next move for the kill. With a burst of speed, it charged at the two, mainly the one that killed its brethren in a cruel fashion.

Strangely, it suddenly came to a halt at the sight of Sloan. Eying the tamer, it let out a huff, as if greeting her. But then turned to snarl and bare its teeth at Tempest, snapping at her with its powerful jaws before turning on its hind heels and darting off find the target its ‘friend’ had assigned it.

As quickly as it was seen, it was gone again. Now it was back in the shadows, stalking the now lone C.H.I.H.O member. It was as silent as a whisper, hiding within the rubble of near by buildings and roof tops, an attack from above would be a quick kill.

In the distance, its large ears picked up the sound of the stampede. All according to plan, soon enough it would join Sorn and the others after its task was completed.

The leader guy entered the van, asking if everything was alright. She rolled her eyes dramatically with a slight sniff and the faintest hint of a death glare. Her grey eyes seemed to deepen in colour as they turned to Will. The colour had returned back to her face, and the beginning of a scowl was starting to form around the edges of her mouth.

With the mask, off and some of the dust cleared away it was clear that she was actually quite beautiful, in a hard, badass sort of way. She turned to Will and signed "I'll be with you in one minute, I have something I need to take care of first." Doubting that he knew sign language she paused and followed it up with the international gesture of wait one second.

Then she turned to Conrad, a fury blazing in her eyes, the scowl fully formed now. There was almost an aura of danger about her, she looked like some kind of avenging battle angel. She drew herself up off the stretcher, ruffled her wings by shifting her shoulder blades, as if tensing for the something.

Then she punched Conrad square in the face. Hard.

Blythe did her best to follow until she got closer and paused as her comms came on. She flinched and looked forward, seeing David running as a hoard of Deviants followed him. She frowned and quickly took out her grappling hook. She used a streetlight and zipped to it as quickly as she could and delicately stood on top of the bar. She frowned down at David and saw somebody further away. “Is Ta Kai the one directing them?” She asked David and paused as she looked down at the Deviants.

“I’m going to take a few down, then see if I can get to Ta Kai.” She told the earpiece before grabbing her grappling hook and looking at three Deviants lined up, big things they were. No problem. She thought before jumping off of the bar and shooting her grappling hook forward, able to lock onto the third Deviant further than her. It grabbed onto the spikes along the back of the Deviant and she fell to the ground on the other end. With the grappling hook extending on top of the three, she quickly send out a large shock of electricity, extending across the metallic grappling hook she gritted her teeth as she kept the electricity up until she saw the three Deviants loose their balance and fall. She pulled the grappling hook to her and shot it at a stop light, whisking off. She ran across the stoplight and used the grappling hook again to swing her into a building with broken windows. She pulled the grappling hook to her and looked back. “I took three down, but I want to be able to get to Ta Kai. This is such a bother.” She mumbled.

Well this was fantastic, the big thing picked that bar back up and ran at him before he'd even reholstered his gun. What a rude little fucker. Dan stood his ground shaking his fists in what would be a threatening display. The monster ran on all fours holding the bar which quite honestly had to be very uncomfortable, it was also a lot of trouble to go through for something that probably wouldn't be all that useful. It also seemed to think that coming at an angle was an unstoppable strategy. When the creature closed the distance and attacked, Dan's fists were a blur his punches landed faster than the eye could process. His first was aimed at the bar, he went full force and the bar would snap at just the right length where it would no longer reach him.

Turning to the other attack, he noticed the bullet wound had healed, that meant this thing had some kind of healing factor, like a starfish, or something similar. That meant a good thing and a bad thing, the bad thing was this was a fight he probably couldn't win, at least not quickly, but it also meant he didn't have to hold back. He threw a series of five full force punches which would land in less then a second just as a claw smacked against his armor. He felt a bit of pain but not enough to stop him in any way seeing as the armor had taken the blunt of the impact. Without wasting a second Dan threw a flurry of punches at the creature's, body, midsection and head.

It was the voice of the Prefect, whatever his name was that alerted Conrad to the fact that Tre was awake. He turned around, to see that she had gone, white as if she had seen a ghost. Which in all fairness she basically just had.

Sir, you appear to have some sort of connection with her. I apologize for this, but is she deaf or mute?” Will glanced over at Conrad, giving a sheepish smile. He felt as though he was intruding on the two.

Conrad blinked at being called a "sir". He was most definitely not a sir, " Sir" was a title reserved for important people, which he most definitely wasn't. But kudos to the guy for noticing that Tre wasn't speaking.

He stood up and turned to the guy. "I wouldn't exactly call it a connection, and I doubt she would either. Anyway she hears perfectly fine, she just doesn't like to...." he trailed off suddenly catching sight of the murderous scowl on Tre's face.

Her eyes had darkened, never a good sign, she had stretched out her wings, then snapped them back to their resting position against. He found himself struck by how much the seven/eight years apart had changed them. Even under the soot and the ash, she was beautiful. In a terrifying "I will rip your head off and burn your world to the ground kind of way".

Then the punch came a ferocious right hook, that knocked him clean out of the van and left him sprawled on the pavement. It hurt a lot, but she had every right to do it. Still lying on the ground he signed to Tre "Okay, I deserve that, I'm a douche I know" while at the some time saying to Will, "stay out of this for a few minutes, yeah hotshot? We got some history to resolve."

Jenne Hardson
First day first day first day was the predominant thought running through Jenne's head as she slipped into the vehicle while things seemed to be in a chaotic state. Well, it was more like her self-appointed first day. As a trainee, she wasn't allowed to do much, and certainly not much on her own. But she was sort of done with HQ, and bored out of her mind, so when she heard the commotion she thought that at least this would be something different and exciting. Not really ready to get reamed by any prefects, though, she didn't run into the thick of it all, and rather stayed in the armored vehicle. Hidden behind some supplies, she couldn't really see well, but she could hear just fine. Including the drama currently ongoing with someone who was hurt, and someone who just got... punched? She was sort of curious about that, but resolved to stay hidden from the others.

That is, until she sneezed. Even with everything going on, it sounded loud to her, but maybe that's just because she was paranoid. It was totally possible that among the orders and the communication and the punching no one heard her, right? Not willing to incriminate herself if not absolutely necessary, she stayed hidden. And worked on getting her tentacles to retreat back into her body; she had learned how to control them, but it took more effort than it was truly worth, and events that caught her off-guard, like sneezes, typically broke her concentration on maintaining her tentacle-free skin.

Sloan slid to a stop as she first spotted the beast poised to attack. "Tempest!" Sloan yelled just as the beast launched forward. Sloan reached for her pistol sprinting forward as though she and the beast were racing to reach Tempest first. In no world would Sloan have been able to win this race, but the beast stopped short of Tempest and made eye contact. Even through the helmet Sloan felt compelled by the eyes of this beast. With only moments Sloan raised her empty hands to the beast, a gesture to assure it that she had no intention of using force. This wasn't Sloan's approach to all Deviants, but this one clearly responded to her presence. As Sloan stood there, she became aware of her...inadequacy. With saliva pooling onto the cracked asphalt and unruly fur, Sloan found herself terrified of what would happen in the next several seconds. It was no doubt capable of incredible acts, surely it could kill her without much effort, Sloan had nothing but respect and a healthy level of fear of deviants, though she stood her ground. As it moved once again and displayed a kind of threat to Tempest, Sloan drew her pistol and shot a single shot as the beast sprinted away. The pellet missed by a significant amount as the beast left. Sloan quickly spoke into the earpiece after hearing David and then Blythe's voices, "Might be another one coming your way. Big dog lion, it didn't attack us, potential for a nonviolent submission." She warned as she hurried over to Tempest, not many people could say they went face to face with a snarling Deviant only for it to leave them alive of its own free will. "Are you alright?" Sloan asked Tempest.

Leo sprinted at top speed until he saw David running from the stampede. While Blythe used her grappling hook, Leo just jumped and climbed up a mostly intact building. He reached a good perch a few stories up after just a few seconds. He wasted no time expanding his rifle to its full length and taking a few shots at the Deviants closest to David. He'd probably get some flak from Blythe for using bullets, but he didn't have the time to explain the truth to her at the moment. The egg-heads down in R&D recently completed a new type of bullet that were supposedly nonlethal. Leo didn't understand the intricacies, but the casings were supposed to disintegrate microseconds after impact as to not create a complete bullet wound. The hole created is supposed to be enough to allow the compounds housed inside the casings to be introduced into the system. He had a few varieties with him, but was currently using the "Stun" variety that introduced a quick acting toxin that shuts down voluntary motor control for maybe a couple minutes. He had some with powerful sedatives, but they would take a moment to kick in and he was worried his teammates wouldn't have a moment if he didn't act.

"Copy that," Leo said to Blythe through the earpiece. He watched her zap the three Deviants and, for the first time, really thought she might be able to take the big guy down. But still not without help. "Blythe, if you make your way over to David I can provide cover fire. The stampede is making steady progress in this direction with Ta Kai at the back. If you two take the next left down the next street, Allée Adélaïde, then you should be able to cut around back and flank him."

_Exodus_ _Exodus_ Moonshadow Moonshadow

Ravager was pleased to feel his claws dig into flesh, but disappointed at how shallow the cuts felt. Still, it was progress. He was already turning away, having learned hit-and-run tactics when facing stronger Deviants, but it was nowhere near enough to save him from having his insides liquefied. Almost as if in slow motion, he felt his ribs cracking and breaking apart, the organs of his digestive tract ripping open, the burn as his stomach acid began eating away at his insides and throat as it, and much of his recent meal spewed out of his mouth. His lower jaw was practically ripped from his head and most of his teeth either broken or knocked out entirely. His body landed with a solid thud several feet away and Ravager couldn't force himself to move. Probably because of his broken spine. He really wished his regenerative powers came with some ability to numb the pain, but if nothing else a recently healed wound felt more amazing than anything Ravager could possibly describe. His entire body was practically tingling with the sensation as it worked in overdrive to stitch his body back together. He also saw something that would have made him laugh if he could. When he ejected his entire stomach contents from the punch, it spewed directly into the man's face. Sure, it wouldn't kill him, but stomach acid was nothing to scoff at either.

Blythe looked around and frowned as Leo shot at the Deviants. But, they seem to be sedatives at least. Still, watching them go through their skin made her head believe they were real. She turned away and looked inside the building, her boots crunching on the glass as she made her way to the stairs as she heard Sloan and Leo speak. A nonviolent Deviant? So not all of them are controlled by Ta Kai? She thought before putting a hand to her earpiece. “Leave the nonviolent one alone then. It could be indication that all these Deviants are controlled by different people.” She said before hearing Leo and quickening her pace.

“Fine. If he changes positions I’m gonna be pissed at you.” She huffed and took her hand away from the earpiece and paused at the broken doors as she watched Deviants pass. She’ll have to be quick, least she get attacked. She took out her grappling hook and started to fiddle with it. She aimed it forward and hooked it onto a streetlight again. She pushed the button and ran forward as fast as she could, jumping up and swinging across until she pulled the hook off and continued down Allée Adélaïde.

Sorn joined the march of deviants. He struck down anything that laid in his path as he ran behind the beasts.
He stopped to view a little man standing in his way.
“So you come to stop me?” Sorn asked
“Just here to feed the pigeons,” David retorted.
“Then you’ll find your pigeons squished and killed.”
“Not the kind of pigeons I came to feed.” With that remark, David charged sorn.
He batted him aside as if he were nothing. A deep and guttural laugh escaped sorn.

Tre raised an eyebrow at Conrad's nickname for Will. Conrad really hadn't changed that much. She couldn't help but smirk as she signed "really? Hotshot of all names? Is that truly the best you could come up with?" her anger was fading slightly, don't get it wrong she was still pissed with a capital 'P' at him, but the anger was slowly being replaced with curiosity.

"how on earth did he survived those injuries? Are there scars? What has been doing the past few years? Why didn't he try and find me?" were a few of the thoughts racing through her head.

As he wondered her anger faded. She smirked again before signing "you've lost your touch Connie" She invoked the old nickname she used to annoy him back when times were simpler. Back when they were in the facility.

She then became aware of all the C.H.I.H.O. agents around her, and how they were watching this drama unfold. The middle of a Deviants plagued city was not the place to dig up the past. She'd have to put her issues aside until C.H.I.H.O. were gone. Their shared history was a volition subject and she was guessing Conrad didn't want a big blow out fight any more than she did right now. And she really didn't want to show herself as a cliché angry re-united friend. She was better than that.

She extended her hand, which he grabbed, pulling him upright while at the same time mouthing the words "we're not done yet, but now is not the place" the angle of her head and herhair blocked her lips from everyone but Conrad's view.

Then she heard the sneeze.

"David, do you copy?" Leo urgently asked. He didn't dare stop stunning Deviants that came too close to him, but was also painfully aware that he was only helping him move directly towards Ta Kai. He took a few shots at him, but the bullets harmlessly ricocheted off the armor. He'd need a better angle if he wanted any chance of these bullets being useful. He was helpless as he saw Ta Kai swat David like he was nothing more than a pesky gnat. "Damn it! I need a medic at my location! Agent Quke is injured, severity unknown."

Leo switched out his ammo type for true sedatives and started taking pot shots at any Deviant he thought he got a clear shot on. He noticed a few trying to climb to his location and knew that he'd have to leave soon. "Blythe, the plan's gone sideways. Do what you need to do and I'll try to give you as much breathing room as possible."

"Yuck" said Dan hurriedly wiping the Deviant's innards off of his face. His leg still stung from the monster's claws and for the like fiftieth time in the past year he was very happy that he'd kept it, and he was also as much as he hated to admit it, lucky that the stomach acid had landed on his face and that it wouldn't get into his scratch, THAT would've sucked. He finally wiped enough of that gunk off of his face so that he could see out of his visor. Well at least if somebody saw him covered in gross monster innards he could say 'you should see the other guy'. "Could've gone my entire life without knowing what the inside of a deviant looks like, but I guess I didn't get eaten so that's pretty good". He squinted at the mutilated Deviant and tried to spot any movement from it, now in all probability it was proooooobably dead, nothing else had ever survived that many fully forced punches from him before, but at the same time Dan didn't know how its healing thing worked, at least that's what he assumed it had seeing how fast that bullet wound had began to close, but it'd take a pretty freaking good healing factor to come back from that, either way Dan was not about to walk over there and poke it. Dan shrugged deciding to make a bit of space between himself and the croco thingy just in case, either way it was either dead, or most likely out of commision. "Don't move" Dan commanded the Deviant not that he thought it could actually hear him.

Just to be safe he fired off his grappling hook to a nearby railing and climbed his way up there. He did a double take just to be sure it wasn't hopping up and rushing after him. He made the EYES ON YOU hand signal before walking away in the direction scaly had come from. Upon closer attention he heard gunshots up ahead, it sounded like the super troopers had walked into some deep shit, and upon walking a bit farther Dan ducked behind the railing, yep the Super Troopers had indeed walked into some deep shit. He peeked back over the railing and counted about three or four people, one guy shooting, one lady standing on the highground using a flashy power, and one poor guy who looked to have taken a big hit from who Dan guessed was big boss ugly around here. Yep, that was probably Tai Kwan Do. Nope that still wasn't his name. The way Dan saw it he had two options, one, he could heroically jump down there and try to help his former comrades in C.H.I.H.O and punch some Deviants in the face (not too hard of course seeing as the super squad wasn't a big fan of Deviant innards), or two he could stay up here like a coward and watch the show. Dan decided to take the advice of option two while stewing them over in his head.

Conrad pulled himself into a sitting position, Tre hadn't gone for a second punch, so evidently, it was something he had said. She raised an eyebrow, a simple gesture, but a powerful one. Tre's lack of speech meant that her gestures were always far more powerful than those of an ordinary person.

"really? Hotshot of all names? Is that truly the best you could come up with?

He couldn't help but relax slightly at a that. He had always been a person who just made up nicknames on the spot. She evidently was not impressed by " hotshot". But it suited him, he was a leader and probably a perfectionist, rising star kinda guy.

The pain of the punch had faded, and he realised that the anger was leaving her. She then invoked his old nickname, the one that he hated. He couldn't help but retort "don't call me that" in a tired tone. He knew she wouldn't stop, but still.

She then did the unexpected thing. She offered him her hand and pulled him up from the ground. But as she did so she mouthed a message. He nodded in agreement. She was right as usual.

Then he heard the sneeze, muffled and coming from the back of the med van vehicle. A normal sneeze wouldn't have set him off, but this one was muffled and coming from somewhere with no visible people. A dagger was in his hand almost instantly. His survival instincts, honed from years of Deviant fights had kicked in and he posture shifted slightly to a defensive position. He didn't have to even look at Tre to know she had done the same.

ABEL pulled up to the heavily guarded and armed gate to the south that lead into Marseilles, coming to a stop as he approached one of the guards shouted from his position beside the gate < I need to see your identification> the guard demanded he was tense from what came over the coms about the situation inside, allowing his hand to travel up into his left top pocket his thumb and forefinger of said grasped the identification card and also his earpiece giving the guard the I'd card as he would then slip the earpiece into his left ear..static between the chatter as he heard the ass end of Will's instructions that Ta Kai is to north west, and that Alistair was last spotted in the south. He was in the south he thought that was perfect he wouldn't waste time once he was inside..Let’s move out, please avoid the east of the city. It’s practically an inferno..

the guards paused a moment looking between the ID card then his face Caine was eager to join the fray as his impatience grew then as the guard did this twice^are you going to keep me here or are you going to let me inside to help my team ^he snapped

The gate was quickly cleared out and opened,

]Abel gunned the sport bike down the street zing zagging through abandoned cars and buses leading into the city; thick black smoke blanketed the area above while the airs scent was heavy with soot from the surrounding buildings that were ablaze.

Over the earpiece Abel would say

"this is Abel Caine I've just entered the city via the gate to the south"

==================================

He would say coming to a sudden stop his acute senses would alert him to nearby danger;using his foot he swept the kickstand from underneath the foot hold leaning the bike as he rose from the seated position to his full height halos would begin to survey the area he stood in which was an intersection his eyes caught multiple shadows in between the smoke and shadows of the buildings..outloaud he said /is anyone here who needs medical attention \as his right hand reached for his rifle which was mounted on the side of the bike..a moment passed as he focused his senses briefly searching for signs of life….in this moment he could hear their footsteps and heavy Ragged breathing their had to be three deviants..as they moved he marked their locations one to the right 5 paces another to his left about four paces the next was straight ahead of him that one was the farthest at ten paces and it was also bigger from the way it breathed it was almost like a grizzly Abel thought then but another was heard it was smaller much smaller..

he then inhaled through his nostrils taking the scents around with all the smoke his nose acted like a filter sorting through smoke and soot blood and the foul stench of deviants but underneath those powerful smells was the faint smell of a human from what he heard it was a boy crying softly weeping his breathing was weak he was dying this angered abel because it was too late to save him but he could at least kill the deviants that caused the boys death..

Abel readied his weapon taking a firing stance he was at peace in these moments, this was an absolute (Death no coming back from that)he thought a small grin played upon his lips.

From the moment abel spoke out loud the deviants had been circling him which was why he readied himself aiming down the red dotted reflex sight he knew it was low to the ground and four legged the way it sounded so he adjusted for it by shifting down a bit but leaving room to trace of the target in case he was a little slow ,a roar was heard then as abel turned to the left as it came charging at him, resembling something like a mutated boar.

Wasting no time using his right pointer abel squeezed the trigger to allow the rifle to loose a three round burst from the confines of the muzzle the bullets whistled through the air, piercing through the deviants skull with a sickening sound dropping it a foot away ,quickly abel would adjust as the one to right came barreling through some debris this mutated creature of what abel couldn't tell what it was;but he didn't care about letting loose another burst from his rifle the bullets would cut through air and piercing the body of the deviant where he thought organs of the animal would as it fell slumping forward,he would let loose the magazine pumping the lifeless body of the deviant with holes..abel reloaded the rifle then via pressing the release on his rifle and grasping another magazine from his right side pocket jamming it into the rifle and pulling back the leaver so one was in the chamber;as he did this fluidly meaning there was no wasted movement in his action hundreds of thousands of times before he did this he could do it with his eyes closed..the third was big it came slowly towards him its face marred by blood and disfigurement from years of cellular decay it was a four legged bear or what was left of one its skin where fur would have been was flesh patches of hair it looked as tho it had cancer almost he thought as he aimed down the sights at his target, but it would stop and stare at him it's one good eye sizing abel up it snarled showing its teeth before resuming its charge..as it did this abel squeezed the trigger allowing the rifle to loose in a flash of fire and smoke as the round burst of bullets aimed at the Beasts front fore legs its joints.

As the bullets hit their Mark's the beast let out a whimper as it began to tumble forward towards him shuffling his feet as quickly as he could with the creature tumbling abel managed to side step to his left a few feet his weapon still aimed as he fired again this at the creature's body as it laid on its side trying to get which it managed to do as Abel fired again this time into its hideous mug the bullets this time ripped into its flesh leaving peices of meat hanging from it as it moaned its last breath he stared at the corpse of the bear a moment before firing again into the body he a waited a full minute…..before lowering the weapon he would reload as he surveyed the area by climbing atop an abandoned car from there he could see that most of the streets were blocked by Fallen debris so he couldn't bring his motorcycle with;ambling back in a hurry to where he had left his bike reaching into his Saddlebags grasping his satchel he would put extra magazines for his rifle and side arms also a small first aid kit strapping the satchel to his waist after which he made sure it was secure he also grabbed his favorite chocolate chip granola bars for snacking in between fights putting those into his satchel..he lifted his right arm up bringing his watch so he could look at the HUD for a map that would display like a small window after a few minutes he thought he would wait to hear bacc from will and the others...
