“Sir, we’ve successfully extracted DNA samples from all Deviants in the area. Excluding Ta Kai, on your request. We’re now ready to begin Project: Zodiac, all of our test subjects are prepped and ready to undergo procedure.”

A soft feminine voice echoed across the room, all walls seemed to be lined with a white, pillow-like insulation, the floor covered with a dark grey carpet tread. Faint, soft blue lights shining down from the padded ceiling above.

The said woman seemed to look fairly proud of herself, a bright, eager smile on her coral colored lips. A white labcoat of sorts loosely hung from her small shoulders, large locks of curly black hair hid the large fold in the fabric at where her torso and arm joined. A hand wrapped gently around a clipboard, attached to it was a large stack of papers that looked to be medical records.

The same expressionless man shown in the image C.H.I.H.O managed to capture stood across from her, his hands folded in front of his lap. He seemed to show no excitement or anticipation like she did, his blue eyes were hollow and cold. As if all feelings had been discarded long ago, and all that remained was isolation and longing.

“Thank you, Ms. Web. With your efforts, we’ll finally be able to protect these innocent creatures from the likes of C.H.I.H.O. And can finally offer them the life they truly deserve.” His voice was soft and smooth, almost contradicting from his current expression.

“Please proceed with Project: Zodiac, though you must excuse me. I have some old business to finish.”

“Certainly, enjoy yourself out there.”

“I’ll try to.”

Paris, France
C.H.I.H.O Beta Headquarters
9:25 A.M

Will was already boarded up in a armored vehicle in the assigned docking bay, desperately trying to organize items inside before the team was to take off.

Medical supplies had already been heavily packed in, as well as plenty of ammunition and other items that would be needed in the field. Two medics were already seated inside the vehicle, their uniforms were stuffed with heavy duty gear. It wasn’t uncommon for C.H.I.H.O medics to have to use stitches, blood transfusions, or even tourniquets.

The prefect had gathered his needed things moments after the meeting, which was simply a jumpsuit of sorts padded with light armor on the inside, on the outside his chest was covered by a bullet proof layering. Bundles of ropes and nets were attached to a utility belt, as well as a dagger and a plasma pistol. Though he didn’t intend on using the last two.

Anxiety and tension was thick in the air as he waited for the others to arrive. Despite the situation, he still tried to remain cheery and hopeful for the others.

A few minutes pass as David watches will board an armored vehicle. He would have gone over to help, except it would only cause even more chaos and stress on the prefect. Instead, he waited about for something to happen, or for Will to finish; whichever came first.

Seeing will finish, David makes his way to the armored vehicle. Cramped spaces and him didn’t exactly get along, but he would survive.
“Ready to load, Sir,” David respectfully tells will.

Sorn
Several buildings had collapsed in the path of Sorn. Turning around, he saw the mayhem he had caused. A smile crept it’s way across his rugged face.
“Where is Ravager?” Sorn mumble to himself.
He toppled a few more buildings before heading back to his van. His slimey right hand man had vanished off the face of the earth.

Tre heard a Deviant yell out loudly, evidently in pain somewhere nearby. Judging by the reactions of the two Deviants, this was one of their own. It helped out again, prompting the Deviants into a tizzy. Their confusion gave her the opportunity to launch herself upwards and fly away from them. Once airborne she spun around trying to spot the Deviant who had screamed in pain.

She spotted it, writhing like a beached turtle, bleeding out into the street as a male figure ran away. She landed down beside the almost dead Deviant. Looking into its eyes she knew it was dying. Tre drew back her now and shot it twice, once in the head, once in the heart and it moved no more. Then with a powerful push off she launches herself back into the sky.

•• Blythe Harlow ••
Blythe danced nervously on her feet as she wanted to get away from the headquarters as soon as possible. But, of course, everything was slowed down for the need of preparation. Blythe felt prepared already, all she needed was her abilities and her agility. If not that, her grappling hook was her best friend.

She walked into the armored vehicle, glancing over at the Perfect with skepticism before sitting down. She probably looked out of place. Even more so as she looked at David. She knew looked out of place considering she’s never done this sort of mission before. She wasn’t quite a superhero like the others, she was send out to take down at least two at a time, but even then, she mainly was the ‘zookeeper’. But she was confident in her own abilities, knowing exactly what was needed in order to take the Deviants down without hurting them. She looked over at the Perfect again, looking at the dagger and pistol, frowning. “Are you seriously planning on bringing that?” She mumbled. We aren’t killing the Deviants. Blythe wanted to say, but kept the sentence in her mind as she watched others board.

Leo loaded into the armored vehicle with Will, David, and some girl he didn't recognize. No, that's not true. She was somewhat familiar, but he couldn't place it. His first impulse was to ask her what she thought she was doing here, but decided it would be a waste of breath right now. This was an all-hands-on-deck situation, after all. Still, if she was trying to sneak out without a team, well, he wouldn't mourn her. He'd try and watch her back if he could, but he had a team and a plan and that was his priority. He followed her gaze to Will's weapons and razed one eyebrow in a "really?" expression, but quickly wiped it from his face before speaking. "One should never go into the field without a weapon. Our orders are not to kill, but if it comes down to you or them you should always have the tools to make sure you is an option. Besides, all you need is a steady aim and you can incapacitate a Deviant without killing them." Leo spoke with an air of authority, but not superiority. Every word he spoke came from experience

While the Deviants rampaged through the city, Ravager got distracted in a storehouse. He couldn't remember the last time he had seen this much food in one place and had no intention of letting it go to waste. He got a little too distracted and forgot about the plan entirely for a while. After thoroughly stuffing himself and leaving a trail of carnage through the storehouse, he finally got back on track. He crashed outside and into a nearby multi-story building. He ran though shredding pillars and load-bearing walls until it began falling, at which point he made a break for it. He did this once more before taking on smaller buildings and worrying less on their total destruction. He had somewhere to be.

Ravager made as straight a path as he could towards where he thought Sorn was. He was off a bit, but the sight of a building falling like a domino tipped him off. He ran on all fours as fast as he could until he spotted the hulking form of his boss. Ravager ran up and fell into pace off to Sorn's right and slightly behind. He said nothing to announce his presence. He knew he didn't have to.

“We don’t have time for an ethics lesson. People are dying out there. I’ll admit; it is easier to kill them to stop the rampage, but it doesn’t make it right,” David offers his thoughts on the subject.
He swings into shotgun seeing as how no one took it.

Sorn
“Where have you been? The plan was to stay on the other building and work our way in; not straight for the stores,” Sorn scolds Ravager.
He glucose him up for a moment.
“Just because I tolerate you doesn’t mean I can’t replace you,” is thrown in before he sets the much small deviant down.
Sorn truly admired his friend Ravager, one of the only he has. If he made an exception with Ravager, he would have to make an exception for everyone.

"Please do not come over here" said Dan to himself seeing all of those buildings toppling. Dan's knowledge of of how monsters acted was to say the least really limited, but he figured they wouldn't just run through a building if they didn't need to animals generally avoided pain unless they gained something from it like food or... reproduction. So unless this ate buildings it looked like there was a monster with some brains running around town. Which was decidedly not all too good. Wasn't there a super high priority Deviant C.H.I.H.O was on the lookout for, what was his name? Fred, Greg, Sushimakalakawhatever? Yeah, Dan didn't remember. He still didn't really know what he could do, one guy against a horde was usually not good for one guy, wait a minute what?

Along one street there was a commotion and suddenly a flying lady came into his vision, pretty far but he guessed it was some new super trooper C.H.I.H.O had signed. He'd just have to write that down somewhere, who was he kidding Dan would probably forget in a week. If of course he didn't get chomped by a Deviant or shot by a secret agent for showing his sorry hide in town. There weren't even any Deviants in sight at the moment so that even if he wanted to try his luck with a snipe, Which he could probably hit but, Dan was increeeedibly humble so he'd never brag about it. Dan guessed he just had to keep on sitting around until something found him, or if he got an opportunity to do something without you know, kicking the bucket.

Conrad ran, totally aware of how exposed he was. And how unarmed. He had his staff, a selection of daggers, a baseball bat and a selection of balls and rocks but that was it. And no proper armour either. He passed a leather goods store and stopped dead in his tracks.

The store was one of the few buildings that had been untouched in this area of the city. Only one of the windows were smashed in, but there had been no looting. In the window, on a mannequin was the perfect thing for him- a sleeveless leather jacket thing, that resembled a bulletproof vest, but waaaay cooler. think of Hawkeye's jacket (movie version), but in pure black with a hood

He climbed through the ruined window, carefully so as not to cut himself. His feet crunched on glass as he moved about the display. He pulled the jacket off, shrugging off his backpack momentarily. It fit as if ot had been made for him.

His next priority was to see what was going on, for that he needed to get high up. He began to climb a twisted metal fire escape, which was bolted to the side of an office block.

“Ma’am, who authorized you to be present in this area? It’s very obvious that you don’t understand how easy it is for one of these creatures to simply place a foot on your rib cage and completely crush your respiratory system, instantly killing you. Or merely slitting your throat with a swipe of a hand, a knife or gun is an easy way to distract a Deviant when pinned in a hard spot. These are not killing tools in this type of situation.” Will shot a stern look at Blythe, rather irritated that she had the audacity to show up at such a high stress time and insert herself into a mission she didn’t belong in.

His eyes drifted towards a small badge pinned to her chest, a symbol upon it recognizing her as a Tamer. “We don’t need another Tamer on this mission, Sloan is the very best of our branch, and she’s dealt with these kind of situations before. I’m going to have to ask you to leave, otherwise I’m going to contact your superiors and forcibly remove you myself.”
Will simply stated, he had experienced dealing with hardheaded C.H.I.H.O members before, and wouldn’t tolerate disrespect or stubbornness. Despite his usual kind and bubbly personality, there were tales told throughout the branch of him throwing unruly members from a moving vehicle if they interfered with a mission.

“Everyone, please fasten your seatbelts once you take your seats. We have three minutes till departure.”

She wasn’t fazed by what anyone told her about her comment. She’s heard all of it from the moment she was put through training and it’s still uttered today. Nothing would move these people to see differently. At least, that’s what Blythe thought. And she felt she was right. But, she didn’t have time for this.

“Right.” She said dully, pulling the seatbelt across her just to show she was staying. “Weapons being used on weapons I say.” She shrugged. Of course she was bothered by what Leo said, maybe not so much David, but her eyes kept on Will. “I’m allowed to be here as much as any other C.H.I.H.O member. You need another Tamer. If you have seen another situation like this, I would love to hear it. But, we haven’t. Therefore, I’m the extra thing you need, Mr. Perfect. Don’t worry I won’t step on any toes, I want everyone alive and well as much as you do. But, this doesn’t mean I can’t say what I want.” She smiled to him and brushed her hair forward. “If you have trouble with me, I hope you’ll fair well with actual bad guys. I hope all of you fair well.” Her eyes bounced between everyone before leaning back with her hands going behind her head. To say she was hardheaded was an understatement. When it came to it, she was as reckless as they come.

Sloan stepped into the armored vehicle, quietly watching the transaction between the group. She was familiar with Blythe, younger than herself but admirable for her passion and strong will. They worked often in the same proximity but had little face-to-face interactions. Sloan didn't necessarily agree with her methods but she shared the desire for the proper treatment of Deviants. She sat down in the vehicle and adjusted her suit. She preferred to mind her own business but when Blythe was dismissed by Will and then rejected his orders she decided to step in. "Blythe, you should remember who you represent in that uniform." Sloan spoke sternly. Sloan knew the reputation for C.H.I.H.O was mixed and she took pride in doing her best to represent a side of the organization that showed true interest in correcting the mistakes made. As a tamer, even more so, she felt she and other tamers should always be humble and respect not only Deviants but to other humans, chimeras, and Hybrids. "Show respect for Prefect Will, and for this team." Sloan was clearly heated but kept her voice steady. She had more to say but kept her mouth shut.

She turned to Will and walked towards him, asking for a moment to speak with him in private. "Will," She spoke through gritted teeth, embarrassed and angry that she found herself in this situation. "If Blythe comes along, I will keep an eye on her." Sloan knew it was dangerous mission and by vouching for Blythe she could potentially put herself and a number of other people in danger or she could simply lose the respect of her teammates. "She has some experience, and can hold her own." She took a short breath glancing back at Blythe. Her cocky and relaxed pose causing doubt but Sloan persisted. "It would be a good opportunity for her and for us."

“Actually, you have no right to be here. You’re currently violating code 817, ‘members interfering with missions they were not requested to attend can and will be punished with a dishonorable discharge’.” Will rose a brow, crossing his arms and shifting his weight. This girl wasn’t too bright, was she?

“Sloan, I’ll allow you to oversee her. But since Ms. Smartass thinks she’s hot shit, I’ll allow her to take on Ta Kai instead of you, you can take on Alistair, besides you’re familiar with his behavior and antics.” Will murmured, setting a hand on Sloan’s shoulder, shifting his gaze over to Blythe. He was absolutely pissed off.

Will glanced over his shoulder to speak with Blythe once more. “As for you, since you’re so eager to attend. You can, but I’ll be happy to inform this will be your last. As soon as we return, we’ll be having a nice chat with the CEO.”

“Oh, and if you get wounded. You’re on your own, our medics don’t have enough medical supplies to support an extra person. Do something stupid and get someone else hurt, I’ll make sure you’ll regret it.”

Will coldly turned away once more, knocking on a metal panel that separated the cab from storage area of the vehicle they were in. “Move out.” And with that, the driver in the cab slowly pulled the hulking vehicle out of the docking station. Its speed was quite surprising for its size, it was at least going over 90mph.

Sloan looked a bit startled as Will reassigned her to take on Alistair for a number of reasons. Ta Kai was no entry level enemy. Sure passion and grit carried someone pretty far but was it enough to stay alive against the cunning and deadly Ta Kai. Sloan's voice seemed to catch a bit in her throat when she obviously agreed to the reassignment. She walked back to a seat and buckled herself in as Will scolded Blythe and warned her of the perils. She looked over to Leo and David hoping she hadn't screwed them by trading places, she looked then at Blythe playing out the number of horrible things that could happen. She sat back considering the real dreaded news was now having to confront Alistair. She felt a rush of emotions as memories popped into her head, a lot of the history had been locked away and never dealt with. Her face turned red in response to her blood rushing as feelings of hate and anger flooded back. To her surprise she also felt the prick of tears threatening to well up. Along with the feelings of frustration and anger she felt towards Alistair she had also never confronted the deep hurt she felt from his betrayal, and loss of her mentor who she looked up to. She quickly put the helmet she held on to hide her reaction. The visor of the helmet came to life already connected to multiple communication channels and providing live information regarding the location and mission. She took a deep breath and promptly capped and pushed down any feelings she had at the moment and refocused on the objective ahead. Locate, Restrain, and take captive Alistair Heathers.

Leo had rarely seen Will this cold. He maintained a cheery disposition while explaining the damage Deviants were wreaking, but Blythe had gotten a bigger reaction out of him than even that. He inspected the collapsed rifle in his lap while contemplating his current situation. As is, he'd have to watch over Blythe instead of Sloan. He could work with it, but questioned how effective this team would be now. Leo had worked with Sloan in the past and trusted her in the field. Blythe, on the other hand, was a wild card. Leo knew nothing about her and that was dangerous in situations like these. Maybe she would be completely amazing and he had nothing to worry about, but he just didn't know. He wanted to say something to Will, but thought doing so might not be the best idea at the moment. Instead, he turned to Blythe. "Looks like I'll be watching your back instead. The name's Leo. Anything I should know about you before we begin?"

Ravager quietly hissed as Sorn picked him up. He hated being held! It made him feel like a child. But no matter, a little public scolding and the less aware Deviants would fall into line and soon forget about his slight disobedience. Sorn might actually break a bone or two to prove his point, but he could take it. All scrapes he'd received while rampaging earlier were gone before he reached Sorn. "My apologies," Ravager said after being set back down. "I'll be sure to stay on track."

She frowned immediately at Sloan and tried her best not to roll her eyes. Of course she would follow after everyone else. Blythe looked down at the badge she was referring too and felt nothing looking at it. It may have weight to Sloan, signifying an honorable Tamer, but to Blythe, it was weightless. Only made of its material with a symbol slapped on top. She had no gratification wearing it besides what it allowed her to do, which wasn’t much.

She lowered her arms as Will talked to her again, giving her a scolding like a teacher would a student. How wonderful. It fell on deaf ears however. She knew they wouldn’t discharge her or kick her out. They wouldn’t want her kind walking around on the street for a villain to take. She could live with whatever punishment they gave her, if it meant she got to go on the mission. She used two fingers and mocked saluted the Perfect before feeling the armored vehicle make its fast approach to the city.

Blythe took the headset from behind, fastening it to her ear. She would rather do without it, not wanting to hear Will in her ear or anyone for that matter. But, she needed to communicate regardless if she was going to take down Ta Kai. She had to admit, it seemed a little daunting. She glanced over at Sloan with a frown before saying. “You don’t have to watch over me, if that’s what you planned on doing. It’s best we stay out of each other’s way.” She said before turning on the earpiece.

She then turned to Leo. Not taking his comment too lightly. “No you won’t. I can handle myself... Leo.” She said remembering his name on her own. “Well, since you asked. I have jellyfish DNA. I know your DNA strand.” She hesitated for a moment before saying. “Once we get a read of the entire scene I’m going straight to Ta Kai to try to take him down as fast as I can. Got it?”

“Hey hey hey,” David said, “No one is going for Ta Kai; he’s a threat and a handler is going to get mangled if you try to stop him first. Let me subdue him, then you go do your magic. Got it?”
David was speechless; he knew some people were cocky, but never this cocky. Wanting to take down a high threat deviant all by herself? She better have some great power.

Sorn looked around to see a good city block destroyed.
“Good. Now rally the other to this point,” Sorn ordered pointing to his current position.
Sorn crashed through some other buildings. He shouted at a few deviants to head the to his area. Those that didn’t listen were aggressively forced that way.

The métro smells like sweat. And industrialism. And piss.

A gaggle of tourists in matching 1 € berets shoved their way into the car as soon as the doors opened, the wheels of their suitcases nipping at Zahraa's toes. On the far end, a hunchbacked old man was passing around a cup. Zahraa stared intently at the little bunny sticker warning her to not stick her hands in the door. It almost made her want to try it.

When Zahraa shut her eyes, the rumbling of the train was enough for her to make out the silhouettes of everyone in the train. There was a woman hugging her purse, and next to her a pair of kids sharing something electronic. A young man gave up his seat to an older woman carrying a thick paperback book.

A woman's voice announced the stop over the speaker, snapping Zahraa out of her concentration. She knew every lilt of the announcer's voice by heart. They probably haven't changed that recording since the twentieth century. « Je descends » Zahraa growled, elbowing her way through the crowd as the buzzer sounded. She made it out just in time, and headed up the stairs to the exit.

H.Q. was too quiet. And too loud. Wait, that doesn't make sense, but... Empty and active? She flagged down a kid who looked way too young to be working there. "Hey, you! What the hell is going on here?"

Merde, she thought. « Mer... credi » she said. Probably shouldn't swear in front of the kid, but shit. The fastest train to Marseille would take, what, two hours? Not counting all the other travel time involved. If she hurried, she could be there just in time to clean up the mess. But there was one other option...

"I need a pilot."

1500 metres above Créteil, Zahraa switched on her headset. "What the hell??!!"

"Yes, I will," Leo said sternly. "Like it or not, you've just been assigned to this team and it is quite literally my job to watch over my teammates. This has nothing to do with how capable you are. I'll also be watching over David here and, before this, I was going to do the same to Sloan and I've seen them both in action plenty of times. You say you want to take down Ta Kai? Great. But if you think any one of us has a chance of doing so without backup then you are sorely mistaken. If we don't work as a team then I can guarantee that Ta Kai will walk away from this."

Ravager nodded and zipped off in the opposite direction. He directed any Deviant he came across back towards the area Sorn indicated. Some were resistant, but were more than willing to move once he started snapping at them. After rounding up all that he could spot he headed back himself.

Blythe crossed her arms, looking at her team. She opened her mouth like she was going to say something, but closed it. “Fine. You’re right.” She mumbled. “I feel like I can subdue him pretty well with my electricity, but I don’t know if he’s moved to a location where he knows all his advantages. I’ll stick with you.” She paused for a moment, looking out the window. Then back at them. “But, don’t hurt him too badly. That’s all.” She said, before turning back to the look outside.

They were getting closer it would appear, her heart leaped into her throat as she saw people getting away from the city and she could see smoke rising in the distance. So much damage and for what? She didn’t know. But they will once they take down the two villains. She squeezed her arms a bit before relaxing, her nerves getting the best of her for a moment as they always do before her cool demeanor sets back in. She was ready to go.

Fires roared inside buildings that lined the streets, their flames eagerly lapping at the fresh wood. Occasionally, a gas explosion or two would boom in the distance.

Portable barriers had been set up around the city, C.H.I.H.O members guarding entrances and exits. Only remaining citizens were allowed to leave the said gates. The wall itself was over 10 feet high, entrapping the Deviants within the area. This was often protocol during a mission, and it was known to greatly minimize damage to the city. Localizing it and making clean up much easier.

The armored vehicle pulled up to one of the heavily guarded and armed gates that lead into Marseilles, the drivers in the cab opening a small, bulletproof window and showing the guards their identification. The gate was quickly cleared out and opened, the vehicle slowly rolling through. Rubble and glass crunched beneath its tread as it moved onward, after the gate was closed, it came to a sudden halt. The inertia causing some of the items inside of the storage area to jolt forward.

A hatch, the same one that the team had boarded the vehicle, dropped down. Hitting the ground with a loud thud, shards of glass and dust spewing up into the air as a small cloud. Will glanced down at his watch, checking the new locations in which the villains and Deviants had been spotted. It was common for a scout or two to be placed into the danger zone before a team arrived to keep updates on damage and the movement of Deviants.

“Ta Kai is to north west, Alistair was last spotted in the south. Let’s move out, please avoid the east of the city. It’s practically an inferno, if someone was to get caught in that, I don’t think we could save them.” Will murmured, placing a tiny circular shaped device into the canal of his ear, pressing a small button to hop onto the communication channel between the members.

“I’ll help out with Ta Kai, if anyone sees something unusual, finds a hurt civilian, or is wounded. Contact me immediately.”

“What do you mean don’t hurt him too bad?” David mocked, “He’s a threat that needs to be dealt with!”
David was fired up. He knew it was wrong to argue with his teammates, but he passed his tipping point a few words back.

“Will do boss,” David accepted as he put on his helmet. He didn’t wait for anyone to move, he was the first to get out. Checking his compass, he went to find Sorn.

Sorn marches back to his spot with his army. Soon the CH whatever organization would be there and he could send the beasts to attack them while he took out the command.

From her position above, Tre could see the armoured car arriving- C.H.I.H.O. She could also see the fires burning in the sector below her, they were spreading fats, obliterating everything in their path. And then she heard the screaming. High pitched and child-like. The fires were growing higher and higher, whoever it was, they didn't have long and C.H.I.H.O. were too far away to be of any use.

Tre swooped down, listening for the streaming. It was coming from a top floor apartment- a balcony to be exact. She could just about make out two figures through the haze of smoke- kids, no older than eleven. They were covered in ash, and their screams were those of people who knew they were going to die. The kind of screams that begged for anyone, anything to save them.

Tre couldn't leave them. As she flew, she twisted her arms, pulling out a batter scarf from her bag, she tore it into three pieces, dropping one. She wet the remaining two with a water bottle, spraying droplets clumsily everywhere. Tre wrapped one around her mouth. She landed on the balcony, her arms brushing off the already hot metal. A burning hiss told her that she would be adding another scar to her collection. The two kids, both boys, started at her wide-eyed. They probably thought she was some kind of angel coming to the taken them to heaven or hell or whatever form of afterlife they believed in.

The smoke got thicker as she walked towards the boys. She was coughing heavily, the smoke and ash particles irritating her lungs. The inferno was blazing loudly, the groans indicating that the building could not hold out much longer. She passed them the scraps off the cloth and gestured for the two boys to tie them around their mouths. This they did, wheezing and coughing from the smoke. One boy jumped onto her back, clinging on like a limpet between her wings. The second one she grabbed under the arms. She turned around, only to see that the wall of fire had spread along the wooden handrail, blocking her way out.

There was only one way out- up. Gritting her teeth, subduing her coughing, she spread her wings, bent her legs and pushed up, launching herself up into the smoke cloud. She could dimly feel the tips of her wings burning as they touch the metal of the building, but she had more important things to worry about.

Trailing fire, unbalanced and wheezing hard she flew to where C.H.I.H.O. was. Her vision was blurring at the edges, and her lungs were tight. She did the only thing she could, she took the second boy from her back and held him in her arms, then she passed out, plummeting to the ground and landing with a loud think right by the C.H.I.H.O. armoured car.

a winged woman appeared, two boys in her arms. Her wing tips were on fire, her face covered in ash and dust. Her flight path became more and more erratic until suddenly her ings just stopped and she fell straight out of the sky. She landed on her back, unmoving the two boys cushioned from the impact by her wings. They were very much alive

Leo was glad that Blythe at least appeared to accept being on a team, though he didn't entirely believe she wasn't just saying whatever she thought he wanted to hear. Regardless, he couldn't dwell on it. They were almost to the city and he had to complete his final checks. He made sure everything was where it was supposed to be, inserted his earpiece, and strapped on his mask. The systems booted up, his HUD showing basic information like his coordinates, a compass, temperature and humidity, and even a map if he wanted one. Most of the features remained small and at his peripheries or simply closed to keep his view clear.

"Affirmative," Leo said to Will. Once the vehicle stopped he exited and placed his rifle on his back out of the way. He was about to follow after David, but was stopped short when he heard shouting about something falling towards them. His first thought was that a Deviant was launching debris at them, but the sight that met him was far stranger. A woman with burning wings was plummeting towards them and Leo actually had to leap out of the way to avoid being hit himself. He quickly returned to the body and saw the two little boys. Trying to get his priorities in order, Leo used some dirt to snuff out the flames on the woman's wings. He rarely saw a hybrid with such prominent animal features, but it wasn't unheard of. Several medics were already at the scene and had taken the boys. Leo needed to go, but spared a moment to feel for a pulse on her neck, careful not to scrape her with his claws.

Ravager rallied back with Sorn. He found a pillar and climbed on top to survey the scene. There was a small army of Deviants here, all under Sorn's command. C.H.I.H.O. didn't stand a chance.

Conrad hauled himself onto the roof, the last section of the fire escape was broken, so he had to do an undignified wiggle to reach the roof. From his vantage point, he was looking over the main city entrance/exit. He could see an armoured car arriving and agents disembarking, evidently C.H.I.H.O. He was about to head off in the opposite direction, but the sound of wingbeats stopped him dead. I"t couldn't be. What were the chances?". he thought to himself as he gazed at the sky.

But it was, flying above him with two small boys in her arms was Trish. His heart jumped to his throat. She looked..... well... smoking. Quite literally, her ings were on fire and her lungs were heaving. Ash and soot covered her face and clothing, but he could still see the bows on her back. The angel archer, his angel archer.

He looked up in wonder, his eyes filled with a medley of emotions- shock, awe and admiration. Then she started to sway, her wingbeats became slower and more practice and she began to lose altitude. Fast. She twisted on her back, to protect the boys as she fell.

As soon as she started falling Conrad starting to scrambling down, gashing open his calf on the broken fire escape in his haste to get down. He heard her hit the ground and ran towards her, yelling her name, completely ignoring the protests of the C.H.I.H.O. agents. He came to a crouch by her side, right near a C.H.I.H.O. agent who was looking for a pulse. "You guys have any adrenaline shots?" he asked breathlessly.

just after the woman fell from the sky, a man appeared from a nearby alleyway yelling "Trish! Trish! Are you alive?". He looked beaten up. He crouched beside the woman and spoke to Leo

Dan was on the move, not that he had much of a choice, a fire had started on his perch so he was outta there real quick. He did his patented, punch a wall and ride it down so he didn't break his legs when hitting the ground. He moved his visor down to cover his face and looked in front of him. Boy did he not fall down in the right place, there was a big Deviant right in front of him, he'd gotten the impression that all of them had gone to the same place but apparently this one was more interested in the food held in some kind of restaurant than in whatever all the other ones were doing. There was a loud sniffling, and then a guttural growl. The beast turned to face Dan, upon closer inspection it was like some kind of puma bear thing, whatever it was seemed to like the idea of fresh Dan meat rather than whatever that building had to offer, "Oh uh hey buddy, nice whether we're having right. With all this fire, wreckage, and despair, yeah well I'm just gonna leave ya to your snack, which is not me" said Dan pretty much talking to himself because the Deviant was not listening to him. It got to its hind legs and roared seeming to shake the earth, afterwards it fell back to all fours and charged at him.

"Alright, you wanna rumble fatass, let's go" said Dan, pulling back his right hand. Once the creature was close enough, Dan punched it right between the eyes. Dan had been holding back so as not to break it into thirty different pieces, there was now a large lump in the center of the monster's face. It whimpered painfully, the Deviant backed away, before turning tail and straight up running away. "That's right, piss off you giant piece of shit" Dan turned around quite proud of his easy victory before looking left, then right, shrugging and walking down the street in the same direction the monster had fled, doubting that it'd want a round two.
