Sil sat quietly at her desk, where she had been most of the night. Her room was completely dark, except for the dim red light of her datapod and the blue bioluminescence of her eyes. She slowly stood and checked that the door was locked before returning to her desk and retrieving a small black cube from one of the drawers. It was a piece of ITF tech from her time as an agent. Sil attached the cube to her datapod and waited for the two devices to sync. The box could encrypt all communications going through it, to ensure no one listened in on her conversations. It also acted as a buffer between her datapod and the ship’s communications hardware, so no bugs, tracers, trackers, or malicious software could infect the ship.

Once she was satisfied that she had taken all the necessary precautions, Sil propped the datapod up on a small stand. A message was flashing in red on the screen: “One (1) missed call.” She had received the message hours ago, but ignored it all night. The timing of it bothered her, mere hours after Mechka’s death. After one last moment of hesitation, she took a deep breath and redialed the caller.

The person on the other end picked up almost immediately, as if he’d been waiting for her reply. A human male stared back at her, with a look of relief on his face. He was square-jawed and steely-eyed, with slicked-back salt-and-pepper hair which gave him an air of dignity. But his most noticeable attribute was his pressed white ITF uniform, and the decorations on his lapel, indicating he bore the rank of a commander.

“My god, I thought you’d never respond,” the man said, his voice deep and stern. “It’s been so long, I was beginning to fear you’d changed your number or didn’t wish to speak with me.”

“I needed time to prepare. The combined bounties of everyone on this ship exceeds half a billion credits. Surely, you cannot expect me to carelessly pick up the phone when an ITF commander dials me in the middle in the night,” Sil said, her voice cold and emotionless. But she added, in a slightly less vicious tone: “Even if it is someone I would trust with my life, I still have a reputation to protect.”

“As do I, Roschanna, but some threats transcend our individual allegiances,” Commander Garret Maxxon replied. He appeared to be walking through the halls of his ship as he spoke to her, but now he entered a private room and shut the door. She heard the lock click as he settled into a creaky leather chair and gave her his undivided attention. “I have no orders to pursue you or your people. This is about your sister.”

“She is not my sister,” Sil said, with a roll of her eyes. “We have gone through this a million times, Maxxon. We are not related by blood, not even distant blood. Sauphira is a descendent of House Aurelia, who were retainers of House Silmaris over a thousand years ago. They were a warrior clan in a time when that actually mattered. Every time you call her my ‘sister’ you are playing into her fantasy, her narrative. So, for the millionth time, I ask that you refrain from referring to that omnicidal psychopath as my ‘sister.’ She is not a warrior or a hero. Sauphira Aurelia is a monster and a master manipulator and you should choose your words very carefully any time you speak of her. Have I made myself clear, commander?”

Maxxon was momentarily taken aback by her rebuke. But, after a pause, he smiled slightly. “You haven’t changed a bit, Roschanna,” he replied, with a small chuckle.

“I am Tymari. Change is in our nature. The trick is making sure ignorant offworlders like you don’t know we’ve changed,” she said. “Get to the point. What happened? Word on the street is Bjorn Mechka was killed yesterday. You think Sauphira was behind it?”

“Unlikely. She always claims her kills. And, for what it's worth, most of us are glad he’s gone, even the corrupt ones. That guy was a real piece of work,” Maxxon said. “My mission is to track Sauphira and her cult, not avenge some pompous asshole who got himself offed in a diner. I had a man on the inside. An agent, like you. Within minutes of Bjorn’s death, she sent my man back to me.”

“My condolences,” Sil said with a look of genuine sadness. “I pray the body wasn’t too badly maimed. Have you notified his next of kin?”

“That’s the thing. She sent him back alive. Unscathed. Her people strapped him into a shuttle and shot him up to my ship on autopilot. They knew he was there all along. It’s like she wanted us to know she knows we’ve been watching her for months.”

“No, no,” Sil said, slowly shaking her head. “Check him for biological contaminants or explosives hidden in his body. Your man may have been turned. Quarantine him, interrogate him, do whatever it takes. You were a fool to send live assets down there and even more of a fool to take them back. With Sauphira, everything is a weapon.”

“She’s up to something,” Maxxon said, ignoring her warning. “I don’t know what frightens me more, the fact that I can’t figure out what she’s planning down there or the fact that the ITF doesn’t want me to stop her. ‘Observe and report.’ Those are my orders. Observe and fucking report!” He pounded a fist on his desk. “I won’t sit by and wait for another Vaemir IV. 3,000 people, dead in the blink of an eye. Women and children. I may have orders, but I have a conscience, too. If I get even the slightest hint she’s going to leave that planet, I will bomb it to rubble rather than let her escape.”

“And Sauphira will slither out from the ruins, like a snake. You will be court martialed, or worse. Your ship and crew will be given to someone with no conscience, and the world will turn on and on and on,” Sil said coldly. “And I suppose that is where I come in?”

Maxxon slowly nodded, much calmer now. “Yes. My hands are tied, but your people…”

“I will not drag Ezro and the others into this mess. Sauphira is your problem. You people created this demon when you unleashed hell on my homeworld.” She smiled nostalgically. “You know, sometimes, I almost believe her bullshit? I mean, what if she is an avenging warrior, an avatar of destruction, carrying the lingering hatred of thousands of dead Tymari? Maybe the reason you’re still alive is because she knows you’re one of the good ones. Maybe sending your spy back to you was a peace offering. You will not receive a second one. My advice to you: take the olive branch and leave before she changes her mind.”

“If hatred and vengeance really are her only motivations, you and your people aren’t safe. You took her knife. You took her arm. You faced the demon and lived.” His eyes narrowed upon her. “She will come to collect, Roschanna. Are you one of the good ones now, because you certainly weren’t back then?”

An eerie silence fell between them. After what seemed like an eternity, Sil muttered a curse in her native tongue.

“Send me everything you have on her.”

"Run it again." Big Brother said as he watched the events of the assassination. "What did you get involved with Prodigal." He said. He frowned as he watched it all over again. The unprofessionalism of these officers was outstanding. Not only did they not protect the commandant like they should've. They ignored the second explosion and allowed the ship to escape. "What do you think Little Child." He said looking over at his Changeling subornment.

"What are you doing here." A man wearing a Major's uniform said. Big brother looked the man up and down. He was chubby it looks like the man could barley fit in his uniform. He was flanked by three solders "This is a private facility I need to see your clearance."
Big Brother gave him a wide smile. "As you should dear friend." He said. He took out his data pod and tapped it to the main computer. His ID showed up on the screen.

The man blinked confused. "It doesn't give a name or rank. Only says your high up."
"As it should." Big brother said. " Now please explain why you would let the commandant be assassinated in a public space."
"We had all things planned out." The major said. " We never had this happen before."
" Never happened before." Big brother said. " And that allowed you guys to be incompetent. Not to mention allow those rebel cells to get a leg up."
"Rebel Cells." The man said. "Sir this was only a simple homicide. I doubt...." Before he could finish little child lifted they're hand and sent it towards the man in the far back.

The hand turned into a blade as they decapitated the back solider.
"Just a simple homicide." Big brother said. " It was clear that these killers were contracted. They took his data pod as proof" He said stepping forward. The man was frightened. The two other guards were quivering like pathetic worms. "in the past when a man failed so badly like you have they would fall on their swords."
" Well I didn't bring my sword." The major said taking a step back. Big brother took out his solar blade and threw it towards the man.
"Well do it." Big brother said as he walked past the guards, Little child fallowed behind him. Big brother smiled a little bit as he heard two shots go off and a small grunt. He looked over at little child. " I want you to continue tracking their ship." He said. "rendezvous with big sister."

"Yes sir." They said.

Alice was laying in her bed wide awake staring at the ceiling she had been asleep but she had woken up a bit early. Alice sat up staring at the door contemplating. She really hadn't spoken to Ezro and she was starting to feel a bit guilty. "Guess I can't ignore him forever. And I can't seem to fall back to sleep so might as well." Alice got out of bed and headed down to the medical unit. When she got there she open the door slowly and peaked in. "Hey....just uh...came to... check on Al....and I figured you'd still be in here......and not sleeping....you know should really go get some sleep....." Alice walked in and shut the door behind her. Goodness was she the only feeling kind of awkward? "So listen about before.....sorry I overreacted it...I mean there's nothing to overreact about right?" She tried to smile but it just felt awkward. She was starting to wish she had just stayed in bed.

‘Roger that, increase speed and set a course for Malalikia. After that take the ship in autopilot and take some time to relax, I think I’ll take a turn guiding us through the stars. It’s been a while since I’ve taken the reigns.’

After Ezro’s message was sent to Jacen, he delivered another one to the entire crew, even the grunts

‘Attention everyone! Due to the excellent productivity and constant stress we’ve had to endure the past couple of days, I’ve decided it’s time we took a little vacation! Helmsman Corr has set us on course for Malalikia, and we’ll be arriving in about four hours. So pack your swim trunks and your straw hats, I only ask that none of you do anything stupid while we’re there!’

Another message sent, and Ezro’s boredom returned. There was so much he could do, but it required he leave the room. Which he wasn’t allowing himself to until he knew Al was up and at ‘em, could confirm that he was okay, and that his dumbass still had an intact memory.

Just when Ezro was about to busy himself with a permanent marker left in the medical unit over Al’s face, the smile whine of the door hinges leading into the room instantly alerted him. As he turned, he was expecting Eve or Kal, only to see instead his First Mate Alice. Instantly a soft smile greeted his face, but he didn’t allow it to linger long. After she spoke, a smirk crept on his face.

“Nah, sleep is for the weak. Besides, ill have a couple of days on Malalikia to relax and sleep all I want. For now my responsibility is to be here watching over Al.” The Captains crimson eyes shifted to the large Wahrlu. “The mad bastard did do this to himself, but as much as I hate to admit it. It may very well have been the risk move we needed to secure our escape. Don’t tell him I said that though, I don’t want to encourage him trying to get himself killed or sacrificing himself again later.”

The mention of the previous day caused an awkward pit in Ezro’s stomach, causing him to bashfully rub the back of his head.

“Yeah, there’s no need to worry about that. My wording wasn’t exactly the best, but in my defense you’re one of the few people on this ship that I look at as more than just a crew mate so I wasn’t necessarily talking about you.” He stood and put a hand on her shoulder. “I know your purpose for being here, and I appreciate it. You’ve sacrificed a lot, more than I should’ve asked of you. But I promise I’ll make it up to you in the long run. Plus my offer still stands, if you’re feeling too homesick and are missing your brothers too much, I’ll gladly fetch them and bring them with us. Just say the word.”

Jacen read the message thankful that he didn't make it all the way to the mess hall. He walked back to the helm and adjusted their course and increased the speed.
He flipped on auto pilot before walking away.

Instead of going to his room he stopped by Sil's room. He acted like an asshole towards her today. Jacen let out a breath and swallowed his pride before knocking on the door gently.

Sil sat perusing the thousands of documents her old friend in the ITF had sent. She had ended the call over a half hour ago and now had to figure out what to do with all of this. Pictures. Videos. Audio logs. Maxxon's agent had spent nearly a year embedded with Sauphira's people. Unfortunately, Sil was fairly certain Sauphira knew he was a spy from day one. All of the information he had gathered was compromised. It might as well be propaganda.

He only saw what she wanted him to see. And now I am looking at all of it. We are playing right into her hands, Sil thought as she scrolled through pictures of the junk world her 'sister' had been camped out on, Fiiros.

Sil had never heard of it before, but Maxxon sent charts of the planet's location, as well as some classified ITF files about its purpose. Fiiros was a dumping ground for decommissioned warships. The planet's surface was uninhabited, but managed by a manned space station in orbit, where ships were stripped of anything valuable or reusable before being dropped planetside. The desert world's surface was riddled with the rusting hulks of ships, some of them nearly a century old and some nearly new.

Technically, there shouldn't be enough parts to build a working ship down there and certainly not one capable of getting past Commander Maxxon's dreadnought, which was waiting in orbit. But Sauphira Aurelia was a former military engineer turned terrorist. She had a track record of thinking outside of the box and was down there with hundreds of her fanatical followers doing god-only-knows what. Sil definitely agreed with Maxxon on one thing: she was up to something. Something bad.

Sil actually flinched when Ezro's message came through her datapod. She had lost track of time and was completely distracted:

Attention everyone!

Sil frowned and rubbed her eyes. She hadn't slept at all and it was nearly morning. "Morons," she muttered as she set aside her datapod and stood up. A knock at the door came almost instantly. Normally, she might be suspicious of that. The timing was too perfect. But, frankly, she just didn't give a damn anymore.

Which idiot is it this time? she thought as she went to the door, dressed only in an undershirt and briefs. The most vicious terrorist in Tymari history has a small army and might be building a fleet and I have, what? These chucklefucks? What a time for a vacation...

She opened the door and found the helmsman standing there. Everything behind her was in total darkness, except for the dim glow of her datapod lying on the bed and the blue bioluminescence in her eyes as she slowly looked him up and down. "Oh... it's you," Sil said, unimpressed. "What is it, helmsman?'

"Well assassin cook." He said. He took in her appearance before looking at her eyes. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for the way I acted around you." He said there was a hint of sincerity in his voice. "I'll try and hold back my temper for now on."

Sil folded her arms while he spoke. There was a slight look of annoyance on her face and she seemed to become even more annoyed as he continued. She let him finish and, after a long pause, said in a calm, even tone, "what, exactly are you apologizing for? Although I appreciate --and accept-- this attempt at civility, I don't think you even know what you did wrong."

He looked at her. "Snapping at you, raising my voice, calling you an apparently racist name. I had no idea truly. " He said listing off what he did wrong. "And probably other things I haven't noticed." He said

Alice smiled up at him with her cheeks slightly blushed. "Thanks, I would like that but not yet wait till summer break hits for them and then we can pick them up..... Want me to keep you company while you wait for Al to wake up?"

"Hmmm...." Sil said, her frown slowly dissipating as her annoyance melted away. He didn't get a smile out of her, but at least her resting bitch face was gone. "That is actually rather accurate. And thorough," she admitted. "I... I may have misjudged you, Corr."

She stared at the ceiling for a moment, as if debating how much more she should say, like if she should actually apologize or not.

"Some... hurtful things were said... on both sides," she confessed. "But this is the second time in less than 24 hours you've ogled me like a piece of meat, so we will just call it even and endeavor to do better from now on. Okay?" Honestly, she didn't care that she'd caught him checking her out twice. It was kind of flattering, actually. But she was looking for any excuse to avoid apologizing. She couldn't forfeit the high ground.

"I hope you didn't stay up all night thinking about this," she added. "The argument, I mean, not... nevermind. Are we done here?"

“Right, how long will that be anyway?” Ezro had never really been familiar with the galactic school system, so dates and stuff like that were out of his area of knowledge. The most he’d done concerning the school was attending the twins sporting events and various other activities incognito just to support them. He himself hand been involved in such things, save for the head to head competitions at the Naval Academy.

“Oh erm... yeah that’d be great. Being up on my own all night was kinda lonely, which doesn’t make sense considering Al’s usually decent company.” Ezro let off a chuckle. “It’ll certainly be nice, considering the cold shoulder you were giving me yesterday.” A heavy tone of teasing stained his voice as always. Even if there wasn’t, Alice oughta know by now that Ezro wasn’t one to hold grudges against those close to him.

"Wait what." Jacen said as a tinge of red appeared on his cheeks. "I haven't been oglieng you." He lied badly. "No I been up because the captain wants to go to this planet." He said trying to defend the subject. "Anyway yeah good night and pleasent dreams." He said before leaving.

"Right, of course you haven't," Sil said, obviously not believing him as his face turned red. So, the mighty Jacen Corr, interstellar badass and greatest pilot in the universe gets flustered? That was easier than expected, she thought. Yeah, she had definitely misjudged him. "And it's morning, by the way. I'm going to grab a coffee before we reach Malalikia. Try not to oversleep," she added as he turned to leave. "It would be a shame if you missed seeing me in my swimsuit."

Okay, now she was just being cruel.

Sil shut the door and stood for a moment, still in total darkness. The datapod on her bed seemed to be calling out to her. Sauphira. She needed to figure out what that woman was up to. People were in danger. Lives could be lost. She needed to-

Sil turned the datapod off and switched on the lights. "Sauphira can wait," she said to herself as she began getting ready to greet another day on the Titan. She hadn't slept a wink last night, but she was used to that by now. Jumping from planet to planet and job to job meant finding sleep wherever and whenever you can. And she didn't plan on sleeping today. Vacation? It sounded like a bad idea, but it also sounded like exactly what she needed right now.

The storeroom's door shut behind Kal Rezd, having retrieved the correct painkillers. She still couldn't put pressure on the leg, but it no longer hurt so much. Her cane tapping along, she made her way to her office. Turning a corner, she chanced upon Jacen Corr. "What-ho!" She called.

Jacen stopped for a few seconds. He let out a a breath before continuing to walk. He tried to purge the images of Sil that slipped into his head.

He snapped back to reality as Kal ran into him. He smiled at her. "Hey Kal how are you feeling." He asked.

He smiled before walking past her. "Take care." He said as he went towards his room.

He knew sleep was out of the cards at the moment. He pulled up a picture on his data pod. It had then Jaden Tyrell back before Jacen spent a small fortune to get his face, eyes and hair changed.

He was standing with six other people. He was genuinely smilling unlike the fake smile he has now. Kathryn Jansun was on his left. Each of them was wearing an ITF cadet uniform.
Seeing Kat recently made him wonder about the other members of the Nimerian Seven... well Five now. See if they were still alive or not. He kept the the picture tabbed as he typed in the name Mark McGill

Alice rolled her eyes then laughed. "Whatever...Oh! Hey why don't I go ahead and show you the pics and videos the twins set me. Hold I'll be right back."Alice left to go get her pod out of her room then came straight back to the ward. "Here we go." She walked back in and pulled up the photos and videos and then handed the pod over to Ezro. "Those are the pics and vids from there birthday party."
Siren77 Siren77

“Oh yes, that’d be great!” Ezro said with a rather joyful grin on his face.

Once Alice had returned with her data pod, the captain gladly accepted it from her and began looking through the pictures and videos of the twins. The images showed their young and bright faces exhibiting strong joy and amusement, as is natural for any child’s celebration of another year of life. Gifts, sweets, and friends of theirs littered the table, all making for a picture perfect moment. The more he looked, the more his grin widened.

Next came the videos, which brought a more live feel to the occasion. Children’s shrill laughter filled the audio, as did the excited voices of the two twins. As was common place with age, their tones were noticeably more mature compared to the last time he had seen them. Of course that was a long time ago. The excited exchange between siblings brought a bittersweet feeling to Ezro’s gut, though it was more bitter than not. He couldn’t help but think of his long gone brother, Haec, and the days they’d spent quietly celebrating their own birth dates. The academy they attended brought no opportunity for such childish customs, and so they had to rely on their own wits to procure gifts and desserts of their own in order to truly relish the moment. Be it stealing loose parts from the weapons cache that they visited every day, that they might craft weapons of their own later on. Or sneaking into the kitchen and swiping ingredients to create a crude and albeit somewhat disgusting cake, with a half burnt cigarette as a candle. One would consider the situation as awful and mistreated, but Ezro looked back on those days fondly. However thoughts of his brother of course brought a different feel.

Ezro face fell solemn, though he did his best to feign a smile as he handed the date pod back over to Alice.

“Thank you for that, it’s great to see that they’re doing well.”

Alejandras suddenly woke in a cold sweat. His pupils were heavily dilated, and seemed as pin-pricks in the white expanse of his sclera. His mouth was agape, and a shriek escaped his maw. He looked around the infirmary, beads of sweat dropping from his mass. He looked back to himself, and prodded at the assortment of tubes connected to his body. His expression gradually shifted to a more calm one. Not noticing Alice or Ezro in his fit, he laid back down, and breathed deeply. "Hooooooly shit....."

Jacen tossed and turned in bed unable to fall asleep. 'You'll never escape us Little Brother.' a sinister voice echoed threw his head. 'Nomatter how far you run we will find you." He let out a scream before picking up his blaster and firing three shots into the wall. He was glad his room was sound proof. He breathed heavily as sweat dripped from his body.

He stood up before walking out of his room. He was only wearing a pair of shorts as he started to jog around the ship.

Alice smiled at him but it soon faded when she noticed the look on his face. He was trying to smile but she could tell something was bothering him. "Hey are you alright." Her hand touched his arm. As she waited for a response she suddenly noticed
Alejandras waking up. "Oh! your finally awake!" Alice said as she let go of Ezro's arm and walked up to
Alejandras.
