Fandom RWBY: Sovereignty of Ages IC

The airship to Beacon began to touch down, and the various would-be students began milling to the gates. Zai was looking up at the sleek panels rife with electronic apparatuses and doodads and thingiemabobs. His eyes shimmered with an unmistakable spark of energy as he gazed upwards. His ears flicked, his tail swished, and his curiously sharp gaze was unwavering.

Zai's nose twitched with the many smells wafting through the air, though most prominent was the slight scent of ozone and the quickly strengthening stench of fuel as other students brought their rides closer for loading. He shook his head, recoiling in disgust. He looked down to the cherry red sports car on which he was leisurely lounging, practically draping himself across the hood. She was an expensive and cherished beauty, and something he considerec to be basic equipment. And in Zai's opinion, the best head-turner around.

His eyes glimmered in the passing shadows of the crane that had begun loading crew and cargo as he worked his semblance. The time to board was growing ever closer, and Zai for one was going to get himself a great view.

"Attention... all Beacon students please begin boarding the air shuttle to Beacon. I repeat, all Beacon students please begin boarding."

Carmine had been standing off to the side while waiting for the ship to Beacon Academy to arrive. Resting on the ground next to him was his rollaboard, a suitcase with wheels on the bottom and an extendable handle at the top. He had made himself busy with ensuring that he had everything he would need for his stay at Beacon. He had checked his case both the previous night and that morning after dressing, but it didn't hurt to check one last time, and it gave him something to do while waiting for the airship.

Carmine did a mental check on his list of essentials as he went through his vase one last time. Pants, check. Same for his shirts, undershirts, blazers, undergarments, stockings, vests, two extra pairs of shoes sealed in separate bags, an extra bowler hat, and his extra pairs of gloves, all of which was tucked his manual sewing machine. Carmine gave all of these another run through before nodding to himself and zipping the case close before checking the smaller pockets on the front. The larger of the two had all of the needed toiletries along with towels, hand towels, washcloths, and loofah sponges. The smaller of the two had the few electronic items he would require.

Carmine nodded in satisfaction as he closed his rollaboard before checking his dust case to make sure the extra containers and dust supplies he would need were still there before shutting it and straightening up as the airship that would take everyone to Beacon Academy landed. After checking to insure his can was firmly tucked between his upper arm and Torso Carmine grabbed his cases and wheeled them over to be packed away before heading for the passenger area of the airship.

Aster paces around the ship she feels so out of place without her usual staff strapped to her back her feet make sounds against the metal floor of the ship as she walks she finally decides to sit down at one of the couches near the window her body sinking into the cushions since she already bordered the airship all her stuff was already loaded including her beloved weapon she sighs facing the window and looking out at the view she moves her legs so she can sit criss-cross the reflection of her beautiful face stares back at her she takes in a deep breath and closes her eyes as she starts to focus her semblance ignoring all the hustle and bustle of new people getting on at first glance it looks like she's meditating but in all actuality behind her closed lids she is seeing the possible futures

Lancelot nervously taps his foot while leaning against his motorcycle waiting for the airship, his motorcycle is a solid black with flecks of orange running through the paint, while waiting Lancelot does an item check to make sure his weapons and dust is firmly secured for the trip to beacon. Lancelot finally decides he’s had enough with double checking decides to tinker with his helmet to make sure the electronics aren’t damaged, he sees that there’s no major damage to it and decides to play on his scroll when he finally hears the air ship show up. Lancelot slowly follows Zai onto the ship to go to beacon

Yuuki sat on the airship next to a window. Her blades at her left side as her ears flicked from all the new sounds. She was focused on her portable game system and wasn't really paying any attention to anything around her. Every now and then though, she would look up and catch a glimpse of a hot girl walking by and she couldn't help herself but stare and blush a little. She would stare off and eventually blink herself back into reality and noticed that she had died in her game and would get angry at herself as the fur on her ears and tail stand on end. She'd simply sigh and continue from where the game left off.

Lapis watched the airship dock, and then proceeded to board once the announcement sounded. She bore surprisingly little with her; a lone suitcase accompanied her. As she stepped aboard, Lapis instantly felt a little nostalgic. Her trip to Atlas had started in much the same way.

Lapis took a seat, peering across the amassing students, many of whom were still boarding. Lapis couldn't help but wonder which of these other students would eventually become her new team. There were quite a few faunas to her surprise, more than she had thought would be there. This made her feel slightly less apprehensive even though Lapis knew quite well that bigots were everywhere. But maybe this was a sign things would be okay. Even still, strangers would be hard pressed to figure out she wasn't human.

Lapis reclined slightly in her cushy chair, and returned her attention to the window. The ship would take off soon and she didn't want to miss it.

Having finally entered into the passenger areas, Zai's nose suddenly went into overdrive. The smells! Everything from lilac perfume and musky cologne to buttered popcorn and cheeseburgers. Zai's stomach rumbled and he glanced at a nearby wall clock. He had yet to eat that day, but he was uncharacteristically famished. He pivoted around to find his partner in crime not far behind him. His mouth widened in a toothy grin.

"Hey, Lance? You hungry?"

Myst flies in fast on her wizard staff almost crash landing but luckily not once on the ground she starts running towards the ship dragging her large suitcase in one hand behind her and in the other a goodie bag full of homemade cookies she noms on one as she sprints towards the ship and once she gets closer she quickly tosses the large suitcase to the crew so they can put it away she zips onto the ship and does a little victory dance she quickly stops as she bends over putting her hands on her knees and panting once she gets herself under control she quickly hops around the ship introducing herself to everyone handing them a cookie from the goodie bag except for one girl which looked like she was meditating she just softly put a cookie beside her and moved on once she greeted everyone she had climbed on top of the couches and basically smushed her face against the glass and gawked at the view her bright blue almost white eyes sparkling

“Do you even have to ask Zai? I’m always hungry”

As Lancelot stopped next to Zai Lancelot started to look around curious on who my new team may be. Suddenly a peculiar girl appears Lancelot believes her name was Myst if he recalls that correctly, she gave him a cookie, she’s nice.

“Hey Zai, lets find somewhere to sit?”

"No, you find the seats, I'll get the food. I can smell you a mile away. I can find you, Lance, trust me." And with that, Zai strode off in search of the source of fresh cheeseburgers that he kept smelling, all the while munching on the cookie he'd just been given.

Lancelot just rolls his eyes and finds some seats, Zai was always like that, and it was good to see him acting more like he used to at Haven.

As Lance walked near the windows, he spotted a pale woman, her skin as white as snow. At first he thought she looked familiar, but then it dawned on Lance like a sack of sporkupines. It was the Lazulli girl... the one from the tabloids.

After a while Aster finally opens her eyes and notices the cookie beside her she picks it up to study it turning around to sit normally on the couch she scans the ship for the person that dropped it off and notices her shoving her face against the window she giggles and munches on the cookie she'll have to remember later to thank the girl for the delicious cookie she dropped off

Carmine had taken up a spot near one of the windows. While there were a few areas where you could sit if you wanted most of the airship's passenger area was standing room similar to if you were riding a drop ship for deploying on a mission. Carmine had taken up a spot near one of the windows as he readied himself for departure when what appeared to be a brightly colored fast moving object rushed into the ship and began handing out cookies to everyone as she greeted them. Carmine blinked in mild surprise as he silently accepted the cookie that was offered to him and took a small bite out of it as the BCFMO continued flitting around the ship. From where Carmine was he could see what looked like a kid sitting off to the side and playing a game on her scroll (when she wasn't openly ogling any passing girl) a pair of students that seemed to already know each other (one of which was a Tiger Faunus), a girl Carmine thought he recognized (although he couldn't be sure he knew from where), and a few other people.

As the boarding process finished and the ship began lifting into the sky Carmine turned away from the others to look out the window. Rather than be on the side of the ship where he would have a clear view of Beacon Academy as soon as it came into view or staring at some distance part of the cityscape as it shrank beneath them Carmine instead looked off in the direction of his home continent. It had been two years since he had left his home. Two years since his family had fallen apart. Two years since he started his new life as a quieter, more reserved person. He found himself wondering if he would rediscover some part of himself that he felt he had lost back then, but this though was quickly subsumed by a wave of emotions as he stared off into the distance and found himself once again wondering how things had gone the way they did. Ultimately Carmine sighed softly as he shook his head and began slowly eating the cookie he had been given. It wasn't bad either, and helped him to take his mind off of the thoughts that were plaguing him.

Yuuki's ears twitched as she heard someone mention Cheeseburgers and her stomach growled. 'Im so hungry....' she said to herself. She shut off her game and put it into her messenger bag. She stood and seen a familiar face. Her friend Zai from Haven; "Hey Zai!" She said walking over to him quickly and waving. "I didn't know you'd be on here too. Is Lance here too?" She asks. Coming off hyper now that she's found someone she knows.

Lapis felt someone watching her, so she turned her head to find another Faunas staring at her, slackjawed.

'Its not polite to stare." She spoke, her soft voice barely audible, her eyes taking in this boy with artificial arms. She found herself wondering what could have happened to him to lose his arms.

"Is there something you needed from me?" She asked.

Zai cocked his head, visibly confused. "Yuuki? Yuuki Onna? Is that you?"

Zai blinked rapidly trying to process this sudden blast from the past. And his poor brain was misfiring. "What are you doing here? Why leave Haven?"

Yuuki smiled big and hugged him. "Well, unfortunately my dad lost his job and they couldn't pay my tuition for Haven. So since Beacons cheaper, they had me transfer. Which is fine cause I've always wanted to go to beacon anyways. After you and Lance left everyone started treating me differently. So it was probably better that I left anyways." She said with a light sad look and looking down. "Anyway, mind if I get food with you? I could use an old friend to talk to on this ship."

Carmine spent a moment longer considering his past before turning away from the window and heading over to the other side of the ship. He glanced at the others as he walked past and noted that some of the others already seemed to know each other. Carmine glanced at the pale girl again, wondering where it was he thought he had seen her before. He knew it wasn't someone from Signal Academy. Could it be someone from another part of the city, or perhaps from before Carmine had moved to Vale? Carmine was unsure, but staring was considered rude by many, including himself, so he turned away to face the part of the sky that would soon be occupied by Beacon Academy while slowly making his way through the cookie the BCFMO had given him.

"Sure..." Zai relaxed some in the surprise hug. Yuuki had known Chelsey and Hanna as well, he should have expected this. Zai and Lance never did return to school following that night, meaning they'd parted as soon as able to Menagerie.

Xai let her go and the duo ventured to the cafeteria section of the ship. As a courtesy of Beacon Academy, it was a made to order free buffet. Zai began eyeballing a bacon cheeseburger, some Mistral sausage, and the chocolate cupcakes on display. "I know what I want. Do you?"

“I’m sorry for staring, that was quite rude of me, I was just surprised to see you coming to beacon is all.”

After saying that to Lapis, Lancelot decides to leave her be and heads off to go and continue to find seats. After searching for a few minutes Hr found a set of seats right next to a window He decided it was good enough and sat down kicking his feet up in the seat across from him. Now all Lancelot had to do was wait on Zai.

Aster finishes the cookie as her stomach growls she didn't realize she was hungry till eating such a small but delicious snack she gets up and starts to walk towards the cafeteria noticing two Faunus who were also walking that way she stared at their ears and tails and ran her fingers through her dark purple hair feeling her own ears and sighing as she makes it into the cafeteria the scent of all the delicious food hits her nose and her stomach starts to go crazy she walks up to the display and studies everything not sure what she should try first

Yuuki eyeballed the buffet and took in all the smells from everything. "It all smells so good. Mmmm..... I can't decide though." After a while, scanning the table up and down she picks up the same thing Zai did. But instead getting a double patty. "I think this will do me until we get to Beacon. A cookie sounds good too." She looks around and spots a pan of cookies and picks up a couple. "Alright. Im good now." She said smiling at him as her ears flicked from the noises.

Carmine took his time finishing the cookie he had been handed before turning to see what was happening behind him. It seemed as though the some of the others had gone off to explore other areas of the ship, and the one that had spoken with the pale girl had also left. Apparently his conversation with her had been short. The more he looked at the pale girl the more that Carmine was convinced he knew her from somewhere...but from where?

Carmine gave a small sigh and shook his head. Standing around with the same questions running through his mind repeatedly wouldn't accomplish anything. He remembered his grandparents saying that a new school meant a new start. Perhaps it was time to pick up some new habits as well, or else renew some old ones?

Carmine walked around the pale girl to stand where she could see him as he prepared to greet her, but the moment he saw her face he realized who it was and stopped short for a moment before saying, "Well, this is unexpected. I hadn't expected to see any familiar faces on this trip."

Lapis observed the crowd, her eyes straying from the stunning view outside. In her hand was still the cookie she had been politely given. She took a bite, but found it to be a bit crunchy, but at least still tasty. She ate the rest casually as she pivoted her chair, and once finished downing the contents of her water bottle in one swift motion. Someone suddenly speaking to her caught her by surprise. She focused on the person speaking, and she knew them... but where? They were being friendly, so it was a few seconds before it registered she had been assessed by a Sanctus classmate. "Hello, Carmine. It's been a very long time. How are you?"

Carmine removed his bowler hat and held it to his chest as he bowed politely. "Well enough. What brings you to Beacon? Did you decide the architecture of Haven wasn't to your liking?"
