"Well, he sounds pretty nice. I'll have my friend look for him. In the meantime, maybe we can look? It's okay if you've only heard one. Like I said, they do different stuff."

"I trust you will like the company?"

She nodded nervously. "I... If you wouldn't mind." She played with her hair nervously. Her eyes were now very shifty, almost paranoid.

"Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yesss!" She exclaimed excitedly before jumping up and attempting to get into Geo's arms.

(sorry for the delay! I'm currently out of town ^^; )

"I wouldn't mind. Like I said, I'm more trying to learn than anything. Where would you like to start?"

"If it's a lift you want...here you go," chuckles the Gallade, gently picking up the Vulpix.

(No worries! I was scared I forgot to respond!)

"In the worst part of town.." She made two fists and narrowed her eyes as she made herself become as hard as steel.

Vulpix relaxed in his arms, nuzzling and wagging it's tail but she had calmed down a lot.

(No, I've just got a wacky schedule this week ^^)

He nods slowly. "Worst part of town, huh? Okay. Well...we both seem to have good companions, so it should still be something we can handle. Thing is...I haven't been there -- so I'll have to ask you to be my guide," he adds sheepishly.

Geo listens in with growing concern, but does not falter.

Violet looked at him out of the corner of her eye and sighed. "Trust me... No one will mess with either of us..." She put her hands behind her back and continued walking until the scenery and people started changing and not in a good way.

Vulpix seemed scared and was shaking. She knew it would be okay, but she felt so creeped out by being there.

Geo tenses, quietly stroking the small fox Pokemon as he goes. Mark can't help but feel a little concerned, looking about, but he keeps on a brave face to prevent anyone from getting the wrong ideas.

"I gotta say, this place really needs more than just a coat of paint. Doesn't anyone care about fixing it up?" he almost whispers.

"This... Isn't exactly cared for because the people don't care about it." She muttered softly, before looking in alleys and windows. She then looked at Mark, "If you want to leave I wouldn't fault you." She said softly, in a comforting way. It was almost as if she expected something to happen and didn't want him to see. It was mostly because she was unsure of where anyone she knew from this part of town was. It was messing with her head.

"No, no. I started...I'm gonna finish...but gosh if this place isn't a wreck. I'm not sure who anyone is -- but I can't imagine they like being here any more than we do. Someone ought to do something about it."

A crash from one of the alleys interrupts his musing.

"This isn't right... What happened to everyone I used to see..?" She narrowed her eyes, and when she heard the crash she ran toward the sound of the noise on her own.

A group of people seem to be loading some crates -- from which an awful noise is coming.

"Hey! You kids get out of here!" Shouts a woman roughly.

"Not a chance!" Mark replies. "What are you doing?"

Geo tenses, ready for action.

Violet walked up to them, eyes cold and unfeeling as if they weren't real. "Answer his question." She asked in a very cold monotone voice. She looked at the crates and tilted her head, walking over to them. "Hm... Now what are these holding..." She ran her hand over the boxes, one hand behind her back. She looked back at the woman and walked towards her.

"You should remember that it's wrong to lie to young ones." She put softly, stance extremely intimidating.

She noticed her Vulpix trying to squirm away from Geo but once glance as the little Vulpix was tamed and still.

She was used to Violet doing this kind of thing, but one day she knew Violet could get badly hurt.

"I said, it's none of your business," sneers the woman. "Or did you want to look inside?"

Mark notices the threat in that voice. "Listen -- we're not looking for trouble, but we aren't going to let others cause it. I'm familiar enough with the look of this kind of thing to know what Pokemon trafficking looks like. Are you going to come clean, or play coy?"

There's no immediate response, and then -- "Go, Weavile! Show these snot-nosed brats what it means to mess with our team!"

The Pokemon comes out, claws bared.

"Close Combat, Geo!"

"Vulpix! Ice shard!" She said quickly, before she stared at the woman in disgust. "How DARE you touch a pokemon in a negative fashion..." She stomped her left foot and a large noise was made, everything even shook slightly. She had no problems with the idea of trying to fight the woman physically herself. In fact she was ready to.

"ESCAPE!" She yelled loudly, knowing that the other pokemon would understand from within their boxes. Quite a few were very loudly trying to escape and she brought Vulpix back to make sure she wasn't stolen as she attended to the crates the best she could. Her violet eyes had shifted to a slight pink color in her anger and anyone who opposed her would most likely get bitten at this point.

Mark does notice the unusual progression of events, but his attention is quickly called away by the appearance of several grunts on either side. He smirks as Geo's attack combines with Vulpix's to send Weavile flying.

"Give them a taste of your Psycho Cut!"

At around the same time, a green Espeon manages to knock the lid off its crate and jumps out, taking a moment to assess its freedom. Even mid-battle, Mark can't help but notice the shiny water-type, but his beating back of the villains takes his attention and the Espeon dashes away.

"Vulpix! Go back, use Ice Shard again!" She ordered confidently, and Vulpix appeared at Mark's side helping Geo even though he was VERY strong on his own. The small Vulpix enjoyed being able to help in this situation. Her tail was wagging very quickly.

Violet rounded up the pokemon that either escaped on their own or got free on their own. She was careful not to scare them, she was worried she may have missed a few but didn't worry about it for the moment. "I'm going to take you all to someone who will help you okay? Please stay here." She said softly, noticing quite a few pokemon seemed to calm down at her words because they could understand her.

She went to the battle, that to her knowledge was still occurring. Vulpix was so tired and panted from exhaustion making Violet worry horribly, so she called Vulpix back and sent out her Torchic.

It's pretty clear that between the two, the villains are outmatched, and finally they draw back. "We'll remember this!" shouts the woman angrily, before finally running off, the grunts in tow.

Mark takes a deep breath. "You weren't kidding when you said rough neighborhood. Who were those goons?"

Geo looks over Vulpix curiously.

Violet sighed and shook her head. "Team Nightmare..." She looked at the ground and sighed. "Let's get these pokemon to a pokecenter." She said softly, her heart full of sadness.

The Vulpix was shaking and Violet was close to crying at the sight.

"Team Nightmare?" he considers asking more, but thinks better of it and instead nods. "How many are we looking at here? Say...did you see an Espeon run away?"

Geo gently strokes Vulpix.

"You did quite well. Are you alright?"

"Yes... I..." She felt sick thinking about them, because she knew the truth, who ran them. Upon hearing about the Espeon she nodded. "I tried to tell it to get help for us in case something bad happened." She was clutching her left arm.

Vulpix looked up at him as she laid down and breathed a bit heavily.

"I...I'm so tired... Is Violet worried? Tell her not to worry..." Her voice was almost a raspy whisper.

"You did? I didn't see you say anything. Say...what's wrong? Are you alright? You look sick."

He stoops and tries to get a closer look at his arm.

"Hey, hey...it's alright. Take a breath. The worst is over." Geo replies soothingly.

"I have anxiety... Some things that trigger it... Because of how severe it is... I feel nauseous and have trouble with breathing slightly." She rubbed her arm for comfort. "You might not have heard me speak to it over the noise of the other pokemon.

Vulpix nodded and tried to cuddle up to Geo, needing some help.

Violet frantically pulled a potion out of her bag and handed it to Mark. "Can you give this to Vulpix?" She asked quickly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he murmurs. "Yeah, I'll help her right away. Hang on." He takes the potion and gently sprays Vulpix down with it while Geo holds her steady.

"That should feel better."
...
Elsewhere, a green Espeon blinks, looking around.

The Vulpix perked up a little but stayed resting as she knew it was what was best for her. "Thank you..." Violet looked at Mark and smiled. "You needn't apologize... It's okay... Let's just get these pokemon to calm down..."
-
A boy with black hair and blue eyes was speaking with his professor outside a pokemon center when he noticed the Espeon. "Professor! It's a shiny Espeon!" He smiled wide, but noticed it looked like it was trying to say something. "What's wrong?" He tried to ask it not understanding anything.

"Yeah," Mark nods. "Alright, everyone. You're safe with us, don't worry."

Geo's commanding presence is accompanied with a smile.

"Come on. Follow us, everyone."

...

"There is danger! Pokemon and people -- help!" Espeon tries to telepath.

"It appears to be in some distress," murmurs the professor.
