20XX - Planet Inferos - Prison District A

Planet Inferos, otherwise known as the wasteland of the damned, is the ITF (Interspace Task Force) prison capital. In other words, should one commit a severe enough of a crime to be punished on intergalactic terms, you’ll be taken to this pitiful rock. The surface of the planet is made up entirely of solidified volcanic rock, cemented ash, and molten rock pools. What this means is prisoners are met with the agonizing conditions of constant heat, and their cement tombs don’t help with that. Roasting in a literal oven, prisoners waste away as they wait for the sweet taste of death to take them from this place. Due to the severity of the crime needed to be put here, all incarceration’s are permanent.

District A in particular is the location in which our story begins. A being the most high level branch, the baddest of the bad come to this place. On this day, a new shipment of prisoners are arriving. This would be our cast. Having been dumped on this rock, none of them plan on staying here for the rest of their days. So begins to plan to break out of this place, steal a ship, and reclaim their lives. Do you have what it takes to make it? Or will you burn alive with the rest of the scum?

((Welcome! Some of you might recognize the idea of a Space Pirate roleplay as I’ve pushed this idea forward in the past. But now I have a tangible plot at the ready as not to have interest be lost so quickly. Now while this won’t happen for a while, there are roles for the pirate crew that need to be filled in order to have a functioning ship after the escape.
The Roles are:
Captain: Siren77 Siren77
First Mate: Simple_Traveler Simple_Traveler Simple_Traveler Simple_Traveler
Engineer/Weaponsmith: TenshuZninja TenshuZninja
Medic: Pai Chan Pai Chan
Helmsman: jazzy persimmon jazzy persimmon
Cook: The Suspicious Eye The Suspicious Eye
Turret Specialist: Sludge Sludge

So if you aren’t interested with this roleplay, please choose one of the roles above OR present an idea for a role that you think would be useful for the crew! If you have any comments or questions about the RP feel free to ask! I look forward to seeing who’ll be interested in this!))

I wonder how it will play out to these random group of prisoners happening to be experts in each of those fields?

well, i don't know how many prisoners come in at a time, but since you said that everyone is gonna be part of the new batch. I was just wondering at what the odds are there are people that fit every category. If it's a big number of people then it's more understandable. but having a really dangerous criminal that also happens to be a medic or cook made me chuckle to myself.

Haha, well I know it’s a ridiculous thought. But they’re not all specialized their area. One could be some psychopathic serial killer that eats his victims, and as a result he got good at cooking. Or some theif who became decent at navigating the stars. Or a deranged surgeon that’s got locked up for malpractice. It’s not all that ridiculous if you think about it. Besides the galaxy is a big place so they pick up some new criminals quite consistently. With how high the mortality rate is on Inferos, there’s always new cell blocks opening up.

i was thinking the same thing when thinking about how i could relate someone's criminal background into what they'd do. but it's hard to avoid cliches with the medic one. cause criminals normally are about being selfish. and being a medic is literally the opposite of that. would take some hard thinking cause even if they were a deranged surgeon they'd hardly make a good medic cause they do the opposite of what medics do.

Well there’s plenty of other ideas to make a medic. Perhaps they botched a surgery and wound up accidentally killing a patient, and because of it they got falsely accused of murder and the stakes were raised so high that they wound up being sentenced to Inferos. Or maybe a proffesional medic was offering free procedures for people who needed them on a rather desolate planet, and because of this the company (consumed by greed) that they work for punished them and pulled some strings to have them sent to Inferos. I dunno something like that.
