Mission accomplished thus far. Going into town to give Gawain a sense of 21st century style is done the second the tries on his new clothes and see show well they fit. Shouldn't need help figuring that part out, he will know what fits and doesn't fit his body or what he is or isn't comfortable wearing. All else fails and they go to another store, no big deal! But they saved a ton of money if he likes the majority of stuff here. Going to another store to get a 'higher end' outfit is still within reason so Benji started looking on his phone for affordable but nice stores nearby. Money isn't everything but he knows it's important to keep track. Shopping with a lot of kids will do that; trying to get everyone something and pay for it without your wallet screaming at you. One store near here has good options! Go there! "I think we should get him a nicer outfit, too. Like something a little more costly but not extreme. Everything here is kind of old or used, just something brand new sounds like it could be nice," he suggested to April, her seeming to have the lead here. He'd do whatever, but he threw his two cents in.
Clay rubbed his stomach as it gurgled and growled like a monster. Literally so loud it caught the clerks attention. "Aye...if you want to take him shopping more be my guest but y'all I am gittin' real starved," he said. Charming southerner being the charming southerner he smiled while rubbing his stomach over his t shirt. "What's takin' that pretty boy so long--AYE! Gawain, is you alright in there?" Clay asked and then called to the knight in a fitting room.

Slumped over on a stone seat with ax and blunted side draped over his lap, a whetstone sharpening it and a buffer sheet...well buffing it, Avlazor perked up. "Avlazor do good by Vorkalth. Blue Sentinel no more, we get pretty blue gem!" he said. Clearly the dumbest rock in the sack of rocks everyone compares intelligence of the stupid to. Motivating him is his desire to make his master proud. Power and conquest are his sharpest wishes along side keeping Vorkalth happy. Victory over Avalon lit him up like a Christmas tree. "What else Avlazor do? Kill Sentinel? Bring back two gems?! Make purple?" Hey, he knows red and blue make purple! There is a thought, however. Mindless warrior he is, but brutal he is also. Why stop at taking the blue charm when he could potentially grab two charms? Dim the lights of Fate and break a fairy's wings while he is at it! More for the Legion.

Fate nodded. "I had noticed. Places such as lakes always bring communities together." It has always been like that, and likely wouldn't change for a long time to come. Of cours the people in this area wanted to keep the lake as clean as they could. It pro does with food, fresh water, and a beautiful place among the gloom. She smiled kindly at Dahlia's concern. "Any mother worries about her children," she said glancing toward Erin chatting with Dahlias children. "Even if they are grown we continue to watch them from a distance. But in the end they will be fine as long as we trust them on their own in the world." This couple were the typical parents. A loving mother and a stricter father, both just wanting the be at for their children and showing their love for them in their own ways. "Harley is hurting more than she lets on to. She copes well, but doesn't want others to worry." She knew Erin's mind, was able to read it with ease. And Fate could respect it as much as it worried her. For more reason than one. But that is for later concern.

Erin smiled softly as both Quinn and this Dmitri both seemingly started to idolize her. " Just... stop it, please," she said. Was Erin getting shy there? Her cheeks sure did seem to be turning a little red. "Up until.. what, some weeks ago... I hadn't even heard of the Sentinels, or this world. I thought magic belonged in fairytales and legends were just that." She spoke quietly, cautious of all the people around them, even if they were at some distance. As Fate had warned she couldn't be sure if anyone here were spies to Vorkalth. Sure Quinn and Dmitri didn't seem to be. Neither were Duncan and Dahlia. "Those two? They're exactly who you think they are. But we can hold our own should trouble arise. I'm not too worried, honestly. If anything, I'd be worried about the people here," Erin said, noting the scars on Dmitri's chest. Lots of bad things, huh? People who were loyal to Vorkalth and the Legion, no doubt. And with Dmitri telling her how this place was dangerous, she could only imagine what kind of horrors the people here faced. "If the Legion shows up here, I'll hold them back," she promised. "And if need be, I'll call my friends for help. They're in our world now, but they could make it here in the blink of an eye... Well... make that some minutes. A nap?" Erin rambled on slightly. A blink that lasted for 15 minutes did sound more like a short nap rather than anything else...

She lightly shook her head. What must these two make of her? The next generation of brave heroes that protected this world since forever, a fire-haired girl who undoubtedly should be a proper leader and if this truly was the Time of Prophecy even be the Son of the Archon... and she's talking about naps. She eyed Quinn. Erin didn't like kids, but Quinn was hardly a child anymore. Well... she had this childish thing to her. The way she spoke of how she'd use magic, although admirable, sounded very much like a hopeful kid. "I'm not sure to what extend magic can be taught. My friends and I got our magic when the Charms bonded with us, and since we've learned to use it better... But we just got our powers like... well, magic. Nobody's ever taught us to have it. I'm not making a lot of sense, am I?" Erin fiddled with the Blue Charm she kept in her pocket. "Also... please just call me by name. After some time in Camelot I've had enough of being called "my lady" for a while. And besides..." she eyed Dmitri again, slightly tilting her head. "I'm no older than you are, it seems." Feels weird to call someone your own age by a title. She had the same feeling when Gawain called all of them either "Sir something" or "Lady something". At least he's stopped doing that since coming with them. Other than that, generally Erin isn't one for formalities. She knows how to be polite though. Thanks to having lived in Japan for half a year or so.

Gawain stood in the fitting room, trying on a variety of clothes and outfits, trying to find out what he liked and what looked decent. He liked a purple sweater a lot, in part because that used to be the color of royals. He felt like he would be flaunting wearing that, but in this time he knew colors didn't matter as much. "I'm doing fine!" he called back to the concerned Clay on the other end of the curtain. "And I would definitely not be against getting something to eat once we leave this store." He was hungry, felt like he could eat an entire pig! Hmm... a nice fat warthog roasted above the fire, now that sounded like music to his ears. He changed back into the borrowed clothes and separated the clothes he liked and fit in from the ones that weren't quite his thing. "I think we are done here," he said. "After we have gone to eat something, we could visit one of those other stores you have spoken of. And continue to explore this city." Gawain was definitely curious to see more of Ebongrove. Back in Avalon he hadn't seen much outside of the castle save for a few villages. Being back with the Sentinels and getting to explore a whole new world was intriguing and definitely something he had missed the last nine centuries.

"Yes, send this friend of yours to keep the Sentinels in place. We cannot have them intervening," Vorkalth spoke, making a gesture with his hand. "Avlazor, as soon as Nenet's friend keeps the Sentinels in the city busy, I need to you go into Nexilis and retrieve the Blue Charm at all costs. I care not how you obtain it, just that you do." One Sentinel down, and soon another should follow. Foolish girl should have known better than heading out all alone. Together the Sentinels might prove to be a bother, but alone they were weak. The fairy and the owl couldn't possibly protect her and the people of Nexilis. Once the girl would be crushed, Avlazor would return to him with both Charms. And then the Legion would be even more powerful! Vorkalth shook his head and sighed deeply, covering his face with one arm. "Yes, Avlazor. Very good. Red and Blue make purple." Stupid lizard. If it wasn't for his strength being useful, Vorkalth would have disposed of him a long time ago. "Now, when Nenet's friend is keeping the Sentinels in the city busy, I want you to head after the girl and retrieve the Charms." Instructions as simple as that shouldn't be too difficult for the general to understand. And, he would get to kill things, one of the few things the basilisk was good at.

"Spoken as a true mother, Taerya. I respect that. Truthfully I am sure Harley shall overcome this in time," Dahlia mentioned. "Do you trust her yet? Alone in the world?" she asked. Her way of saying it was questionable but any mother would wonder this. Tilting her head to the side she fondled an amulet with a bright gemstone around her neck while looking for Quinn in her side-eye view with no success, her being out of sight from her mother. The scent of water trickled into her nose, inhaling and returning attention.
"You avoided my question, excuse me," Duncan interjected softly. "Where are you from exactly? You aren't from here exactly. Almost looks as if Harley is seeing outside for the first time here," he said. Duncan wanted to know about Fate here under her false name. "Not many of you here," he said to Novus, 'you' meaning fairies. He wore an exact match of Dahlia's amulet. No wedding rings. Perhaps the amulets represent their marriage instead of rings. Stunning pieces, none the less.

From afar, checking out who was around as Dmitri told her, Quinn got back in view of her mother and those on the porch. Not to look like she's up to anything she waved at them. Astonishment from Erin still collected her thoughts desperately trying not to express her mind physically. The praise was weird, yes, but who could blame somebody for meeting an idol? If 8-year-old Erin or anybody had met a famous Disney star as a child would they not be freaking out? if Quinn were from Erin's world and she met Harry Styles she may have the same reaction. She just met a famed protector of goodness and virtue. She may faint if she hadn't been keeping an eye out and looking normal. Erin seemed so human to her...because she is. Fascinating. What are she and Dmitri talking about? "Quinn! Find Dmitri and Harley. I don't like not being able to see you," Dahlia called out to her. Quinn nodded, albeit hesitantly.

Dmitri kept an eye on the girl. He wanted to say more but he almost had a tick that didn't let him. He might be socially awkward to some extent. "So Taerys and Indigo are... damn," he said. His fascination is more contained but his eyes of different colors show he's speechless.
Erin's selflessness and passion toward him took him back. Promising that since this place is dangerous and if the Legion attacked...she would protect them. Not a second thought. Even after such a heavy loss she thinks of others. Dmitri greatly respected that. "Oh, my bad. Harley...Erin?" he corrected himself on her name. She's been to Camelot...must have been a journey. "Culture shock had to hit you. Never been to your world but hearing about it makes me think you nearly didn't make it in that setting. Monsters and knights running around everywhere. Poor Arthur. I'm sure Guinevere will be fine," he said. Dmitri sounded caught up to date...and like he knew the Avalonian monarchs like an American knows their politicians.
He shrugged as her magic description. "Honestly we know what magic is here. Quinn's just young and idealistic. What comes out of your gemstones is something special. I can't even imagine what it must be like to hold something so great," he said as she fiddled with Dylan's charm in her pocket, unaware she even had it on her person.
Quinn returned to them shortly. "Dmitri...mother wants us out front," she said. He nodded, almost...sad. He got up, offering to help Erin up as well.

Nenet bowed her head. "As you wish." Vorkalth would have his way. Opening the portal from the alter, she prayed. "Dark Gods. Open the doorway into Ebongrove. Bring forth from the depths of the dead, from the book of the Legion. Rise, Aquanon!" she chanted, Vorkalth's tome flying open to a page marked by Nenet. Light escaped it, re-birthing a sinister creature from long ago. Bearing the likeness of a an overweight salmon in underworld armor, a gaping maw for a face decorated in teeth, wielding two shark-tooth clubs in its hands. Into Ebongrove it lives. Behold, Aquanon!
---
Knowing when she's outnumbered, April put a hand in on getting food. Gawain seemed happy with his clothes and would maybe want something nice too, but filling everyone's stomach comes first. "Food, then more cursing around we go," she said, taking Gawain's lead into the city again after paying for his clothes at the register. She let him do it, but was right behind him as they did so. In case he forgot a value or didn't know how to work the credit card scanner. In due time. Part of being in a group of guys as the only chick, she's bound to either eat in a masculine stereotype like a steakhouse or something overly processed like fast food. That's the defacto for when you're running around and just want a stomach to be filled. How they will bring Gawain into society's food is beyond her. Chicken nuggets do sound yummy.

A few minutes of wandering Ebongrove searching for somewhere to eat, and passing by the lake they'd met the fishermen at some time ago, April and the guys were near a more relaxed part of town with a stairway nearby. Just as they walked by, sparks lit up the ground around the four of them in succession. April jumped and shielded her face, arms up. People around ran away from fright, as they do.
Looking up, April got a good look at what did it. A monster! With daggers and a fish look! And a big maw for a...face, sort of? "Hahaha! Four of you in giving colors, too easy to spot!" the monster was delighted to see them. Snarky, too, by his voice.
Dropping the one bag she carried, April faced him with the others at the bottom of the steps, him at the top. "Legion!" she alerted.
"Aquanon is the name, killing people is the game," he introduced himself. His face lit up, beaming at a nearby group of civilians running away. Their skin became dry, as if all the moisture had been sucked out. He's feeding on...water inside of people? Not fun. April gasped at what he did to the people, so quick to attack already. Spawners behind him roared and beckoned atop the stairs. "Should we call Erin? Or should we...?" April wondered what to do.

Hands together with a mad chuckle, Avlazor prepared to descend to the Sentinel in Nexilis by gathering a band of fighters together. A few Spawners and a Ryxen or two to act as main support ought to do the trick. Enough of them to outnumber the Sentinel, crush the fairy and kidnap the owl. All while cutting down any in their way no matter what. Master Vorkalth will have the Blue Charm. And Red, too. Purple!! Purple for Vorkalth! The very moment Nenet conjured Aquanon from the depths of Hell, he bumped into Vorkalth's hand slightly as he opened the portal sending him and troops to the Red one's location. That shouldn't alter the portal...should it?

Gawain's clothes should serve him well in fashion for the 21st century. That is enough shopping for the day, Clay thinks. He isn't at all thinking of the shopping to do after eating. Keen as he is to help a friend out he is more keen to get something on his stomach. Meals bring people together more than anything so eating is a good way to get to know Gawain a little bit more. He'll even pay for it all. Clay, not Gawain. Now who in the Hell would make somebody else pay for a meal welcoming them into the area? He's not shitty like that. But if Gawain orders something more than like 30 dollars...Clay might smack him. A good ol' cowboy slap across the jaw. Hell.
Benji was getting there too. After leaving Goodwill, he was a little peckish for something to eat. Nothing fatty or gross so they get tired...but nothing heavy and fancy because screw being all fancy when you don't need to be. Middle ground places exist and one of them has to be perfect. Bathroom breaks wouldn't be so bad, either. Before anybody says he should have gone before they left...well he didn't have to go then, hush!

Ebongrove really is pretty. It's seen some weird stuff recently. But the bulk of weird was seen in Camelot. People here may have just moved past it and seen the monsters as a thing of the past. Peaceful. Cars driving around, people walking, signs everywhere you turn. Clay stuffed his hands in his pockets with bags around his wrists, not making Gawain carry it all. April had the right idea. Benji carried one like her, using his free hand to use his phones GPS and find somewhere. Scent of processed food is calling out to him more and more every passing second. Getting some of that delicious stuff may have to wait because as it is always calm right before--kapow! Not a storm, but a boom! Benji, Clay and the other two stopped in their tracks, surrounded by magical bursts from nearby. Clay held on to his hat tight, as well as the bag with hats in it. Priorities? Benji and him shot their looks up to a monster. Legion bastards.
Aquanon. What a name. Somebody in whatever comic book he crawled out of has no creativity. The guys assumed a fighting position, dropping the bags and putting phones away as people scurry around. This isn't Camelot, though. Can't just morph in the open.
"What's he doing to those people?" Benji asked, looking around at other people drying out like salty snails. April begged the good question about calling Erin.
"Ain't no time. Erin don' need to be here. We got this'n," Clay said. Hoped he knew what he was talking about... Grasping his charm he readied.
"Essencia Awaken!" Clay burst. Benji followed the same after it wad clear.
"Shaking Earth! Brown Sentinel Ranger!"
"Sprouting Nature! Green Sentinel Ranger!" Both of them twirled their capes around and eyed Aquanon up top. "You want a fight? Ya found it, varmint!" Clay challenged.
---
At the lakefront, boiling water surprised all nearby. Should have anyway, since when does lake water naturally boil? A Macbeth quote works out in this case. Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble, cool it with baboon's blood, the the charm is fine and good. Less toil, more boil, no cauldron but water, and charms aplenty for the taking. See, Vorkalth's portal sending his forces to Erin was supposed to be on land so it makes more sense. Jump scare time, apparently. Right near where Erin sat with Dmitri and that girl between there and the porch, Avlazor burst from the shallow end of the water with Spawners and the two Ryxens. Portal underwater because he bumped his masters hand. Hey he got there in pone piece, at least. Good for him, not for the people.
"Vorkalth sends regards!" Avlazor chanted from knee-high water, marching on out like he owned the place, his forces firing darkness from their eyes in an assault on the area. Blowing cover, he may as well get to it. "Red Sentinel! Come out come out! Blue gem is what Avlazor want!" He scanned around...looks like she's right over...there. He pointed his massive weapon her way.

"Ah, my apologies. I didn't mean to," Fate apologized to Duncan. Her conversation with Dahlia had kept her mind too busy to properly respond to where exactly they came from. "We own a small patch of land near Clarelin Village, a few days traveling southwest of here. Harley was raised rather sheltered. She hardly dared leaving the village. It was her friend who pulled her out of her shell. My husband and I feared that she would become more reclusive if she stayed home much longer. Which is why Indigo and I are taking her on a journey to the Savalan Coast.
"And I originally came from O'nanor, a fairy community much further to the west. I was on my way O'Serin when a certain forest creature mistook me for its dinner. These lovely humans saved my life, so I swore a Fairy's Oath to serve them for twelve years and a day," Novus timidly replied. Sticking to the whole submissive random fairy rather than the person who keeps track of the Sentinels.
Fate turned her gaze to where Erin had been sitting a few moments ago. "Do I trust her yet? Of course I do. But that does not mean I want her to spread her wings and explore this world on her own just yet." The two spotted Quinn walking back into view, waving back as the girl waved at them.

"Taerya. But yes. They are," Erin smiled. Taerys sounded like a character from Game of Thrones. Probably related to that blonde dragon chick. She observed Dmitri again. Scarred, nervous... having mentioned bad things happen around here. Something's amiss here, but she can't quite tell what. She also took note of how his eyes both had a different color. That's pretty cool!
"Yeah... it was quite the journey. So much different from our own world. Castles and dragons and having to wear dresses..." No, she still wasn't over that bit. "There's still castles on Earth, though. Speaking of culture shock... my friends are trying to familiarize Gawain with our century. I kinda regret not being there to see his facial expressions.. but I don't mind being here either." The fact that Dmitri seemed so up-to-date shocked her a little. "All of this happened so recently... yet you sound like you've known this all forever. How...?" She let the Charm slip back into her pocket. "To hold a Charm... when it has bonded with you it feels like the very element itself is surging through every bit of your body and soul, filling every nook and cranny. Igneos is always somewhere in the back of my mind, showing whenever I need his aid or advise even when I don't know I do." She recalled him suddenly showing up in the hearth and torches the day before everything in Avalon turned south. She accepted his help in getting back to her feet, heading back to the front with him and Quinn.
---
So that was one thing being set for sure: they're going to get food. Good, delicious food. Gawain knew very little of the 21st century cuisine. He's basically living in the Coven and been eating Nexilis... Nexilian? Nexilisian? He's been eating the food of Nexilis. April still led them around like a momma duck looks after her ducklings. After paying... And that was just one of the many other things that stunned Gawain. How does one pay with a card made of.. what'd they call it... plastic? Does it magically hold currency? Is the currency infinite? And if not, how does the card know it's run out? Note to the others, it might be safer not to hand Gawain a credit card. So out of the store they go and back into the city, searching for a place to eat. And a lot of places around smelled like food. Strange food... but food nonetheless and Gawain is a hungry knight. Still, he'd let the others decide where they would go to eat. He didn't quite know what places were what, so he wouldn't want to lead them into some expensive place on accident. Like... that place that had lots of the strange carriages parked outside, with a shining golden "M" on the building. If a place could afford such bright golden letters, it must be expensive!

Just a few minutes into walking around, searching for food, and getting hungrier and hungrier, all five of them were blasted at by the forced of evil. "Do my eyes deceive me due to the hunger, or are we under attack by a giant fish?" Gawain questioned the others. "Also, the fish has a point. The four of you walking around in the colors of your Sentinel outfits..." he shook his head. Didn't make much sense and would definitely make you a target to the Legion. His borrowed outfit did not contain the color gold. But something made him think it might be awfully difficult to find bright golden clothes just about anywhere. Everyone dropped whatever bags they were carrying and readied themselves for the fight. Gawain watched as Aquanon attacked the people, draining them of the water inside their bodies. That's no good... In fact that's really really bad. People could die from dehydration, even Gawain knew that.
"We should at the very least alert her," Gawain said. If Erin had the time to come over, it would be wonderful, but if for some reason she couldn't... then they would just have to be fine on their own. But at least she had to know what's going on around here. Then Gawain gripped his charm as well. "Essencia Awaken!" Golden energy swirled around him. "Shining Light! Gold Sentinel Ranger!"
---
A slight bump may not greatly alter the effect of a spell, but it will affect it. Motions are done in a precise way and order for a reason. They control the spell and inevitably the outcome. So even the slight bump of a lizard overly eager to kill things may send him to a slightly different place than he had to be at. Vorkalth kept his concentration though. Avlazor would soon enough learn what the consequences of his actions were. Now, instead of on the land, the portal was bumped... into the lake. Vorkalth gripped his forehead as the Basilisk, Ryxens, and Spawners plunged through and landed in the water with a splash. Ah well... at least they were close enough to the Sentinel, Owl, and Fairy. And such an interesting location too, this lakefront was. Vorkalth laughed darkly. Now things were bound to get really interesting.
---
Boiling water out of nowhere. A splash, and all too familiar gurgles. Not these guys! Erin did not want to run into them today. Especially not out here!
"Hey Avlazor! I thought you were a reptile, not an amphibian!" Erin called to the Basilisk as he emerged out of the water. Cover was blown already, so she might as well fully leap into action here. Erin turned to Quinn and Dmitri. "You wanted to see the Charm in action? Get to safety and watch." A quick grin creeping across her face. "Novus! Fate! If you can do anything to keep these guys at bay, help is very welcome. If not... at least help these people to safety," she called to her mentors. Kinda weird to tell your mentors what to do. They're your mentors. Usually they're the ones telling you what to do. Erin jumped into action, kicking the nearest Spawners aside to create a path for Dmitri and Quinn to escape. She moved along with them to make sure no other Spawners, Ryxens, or maybe even Avlazor himself got the fun idea of attacking them. It was her and the Charms they were after, so she'd best make herself into the main target here.

However.... the amount of enemies around was fairly significant. The moment the two had gotten away from her, a Ryxen managed to get a good shot, blasting Erin off her feet. And as it did so... something slipped out of her pocket. Something shiny and blue. Erin, however, did not notice. She grunted upon impact and rolled to the side.
That's when Gawain's "call" came in. Might as well make it a "group call" and alert the others too.
Erin... We're under attack in the city. If you can help us, it would be welcomed.
Your timing is disastrous. Or rather... the Legion's timing is perfect.
What do you mean with that?
Well... We've got company over here too. Avlazor is after the Charms.
And I thought an armored salmon was the worst thing we were facing today...

What the.... so the others were facing off against a canned fish? Erin didn't know what was worse. Or smelled worse... Quickly Erin got back to her feet, gripping the Charm around her neck.
"Essencia Awaken!" she called, red energy swirling around her and the feeling of fire filling her soul. "Scorching Fire! Red Sentinel Ranger!" Erin struck a pose, cape flowing behind her. "You will never get the Charm!" she called, summoning her flaming longsword and pointing it at Avlazor. "And you will not harm these people." She had promised Dmitri, hadn't she? If the Legion attacked, she would protect everyone here. Of course she would, she's a Sentinel and they're the beacon of all that's good in this world. But this was her chance to prove she meant it. And the chance to show the people here that hope is not yet lost, even if they lived in a place where bad things happened and where evil has more or less already won once.

"Another giant fish, you mean," April reference Morag. Fish-like creature she was, anyway. They should let Erin know, definitely, but they can handle this on their own. One fish versus three Sentinels and one Knight of Camelot? He is a knight too but the other thing makes him special. Aquanon isn't a match for them!
"Essencia Awaken!" April shouted, grasping her charm as the guys did, breeze of energy surrounding her. "Soaring Wind! White Sentinel Ranger!" Underestimating things form the undead Legion never end well and lessons get learned. But seeing how this is already a third aquatic monster to be faced, April is not afraid. The guys weren't either, possibly as a newfound power within after Avalon. Erin being here would be great, but...
Avlazor? Of all times... Stay safe Erin, I think we can do this! April chimed in on the mental conversation.

The aquatic fiend shook daggers like maracas, shifting from foot to foot like a sump preparing for battle. Using the stairs like a waterslide he charged down at the four Rangers, gladly slashing at them all passing by. For two smaller weapons they cut something fierce. April yelped a little bit on contact as she rolled to the side. Never get used to being hit by lethal weapons at all. You can see war, magic, death and destruction in a short time but getting hit is never something you just adjust to. It's always a sting feeling that just hurts!
Aquanon shot a solid beam from his maw of a face, going in two directions at the four heroes. From the magic of the wand, April cast a miniature tornado to catch the beam and fade it away to defend herself and Gawain. "We have to protect ourselves from that beam," she stated, not wanting to dry out today. As normal, she ran in to combat, kicking Aquanon in the gut and going again before being swatted aside.

Explaining the story of where Taerya and the others are from made Duncan nod. "So I see. And you, Indigo. What such beast made you promise them this?"
"Oh Duncan, silence, you. My own apologies for my husband. He likes detail. I am sure Harley is ready to spread her wings like say...an owl and fly? Just she doesn't know it yet. That and death is hard to handle. We have seen our fair share of it, here. Death.. " Dahlia trailed off. Judging by that sound she had to seen a lot of death. As she said it she looked out to all of the people walking around there home. Almost like she meant them, but she couldn't mean that.

Walking away with the two girls, Dmitri processed a ton of information in his head. Hearing Erin talk about the magic of the Charm and what it felt like. For years he had known about this type of thing but never seen it firsthand. He didn't get to tell her but he knows about Camelot because it's tied in to Nexilis in such a way that it's basically common knowledge what goes down in other realms. He could almost say a few things about Erin's home realm since it's part of the web and all. But that may come off as creepy. If he can later he will gladly explain to her just how he and Quinn know about the things they do. Simple talk, really. Always being connected to a Spirit is remarkable. The knowledge, the power, the freedom that must bring to mind! So many questions he wants to ask her! But if they are needed up front he will go.

Springing the surprise into motion with Avlazor's arrival, Quinn let out a fairly well-understood shriek. She's never seen the basilisk warrior in person, only in myths and stories. Not myths, per say, more like rumors from people she's met before that had passed through here. Duncan and Dahlia shot up like rockets upon the monsters arrival from the water. But unlike Quinn, the other people around who weren't running away very far before stopping, and Dmitri, they were not afraid. Different things on their faces. While Dmitri an Quinn were under Erin's protection, these two turned to Novus and Fate as Erin revealed who they were. Well, Avlazor did really. "About time you got here, Basilisk," Dahlia said as if she knew Avlazor was coming.
Duncan looked at Fate and Novus. "The esteemed Novus and infamous Fate. Fallen right into our trap, under our spell," he said, eyes glowing blue like Dahlia's did as well. She grabbed Fate, Duncan taking Novus easily. Their amulets shined bright in magic. Struggling with them, Dahlia shouted. "Legionaries! Destroy her and kill any of our slaves in your way," Dahlia shouted out for all to hear. Slaves? So that means everybody here is...

Revelation is out! Dmitri, Quinn, and seemingly everybody in sight around here is a slave. No care at all is on them. Quinn fell pale when made clear it is okay if she dies or not. She wanted to scream at Dahlia...but couldn't. Something stopped her. Magic? Why can people only runs so far? Control of a curse?
"Duncan, Dahlia, you have to--...To st--..." Dmitri tried, unable to say anything bad to his masters. Part of a curse, it has to be that. Beans already spilled, Spawners went on the attack, overwhelming Erin as she engaged Avlazor. Dmitri eyed Novus and Fate both, pointing to himself as if he wore a necklace. Will they take the hint to smash those amulets? All of this was happening so fast, it's hard to keep up! Holding Erin to her promise, he trusted her to fight. But she's just one girl. Both Dmitri and Quinn got chills down their spines as they watched her morph into her powers. "The red...the red...!" Quinn wanted to cheer but she was busy avoiding hits. The girl ran sheepishly through Spawners attacking, noticing something shiny and blue by the water. Just as Quinn paused, the two Ryxens accompanying Avlazor spotted her and the gem. Pointing their weapons, the heavier soldiers ran for her. She screamed, knowing this is how she's going to die.
Dmitri got separated from her but heard her. He snapped to her space. "QUINN!" he shouted in fear. A true, genuine fear only someone about to lose a person they care for can feel. Thinking quick on his feet he grabbed the fishing spear, blunt hitting a Spawner beside of him to roll over its back. He kicked off of a log and tackled the first Ryxen alone in danger. He rolled around in the water with it before tripping the second with the spear. Passion fueled him, as did a combination of adrenaline and fear. Not taking a second to breathe he pushed back the two attackers with the spear, slashing it out at them and striking serious blows on them before tossing it javelin style. Dmitri finally stopped and stared at the blue gem on the ground near water. Spawners surrounded him but paused to watch. Slowly he reached out, recognizing it for what it was. This had to be it. This had to be the...Blue Charm of the Sentinels. Before he touched it, it flew into his hand on its own. Just as he did, Spawners rushed in, but he threw his arm up, water shooting out from the lake and stopping them in their tracks. Dmitri paused, as did the attacking forces. What is this???

"This...this is... " Dmitri stuttered, feeling a feeling only felt in fantasy. Erin would know it, as would her friends.
"Dmitri? You've been..." Quinn started to say. She's read about this. Are her eyes deceiving her? Is he now a Sen...a Sen....????

I'm so sick of that overgrown box-of-bullshit Basilisk, Benji chimed to the group 'call'. No seriously why does he or that damn sphinx pop up at the most inopportune times? Is this a game?
When ya git done with him c'mon back here. Give 'em Hell there, Erin! Then you can come cook this salmon! Clay encouraged. She's important but four against one makes the odds well in their favor against Aquanon. Dehydrating people is a sick and new method of being an evil monster from Hell but it isn't anything they can't handle. Hit him hard enough and he'll come crashing down. That's proven true so far, hasn't it? Except for when they grow big and you are still a tiny normal person compared to them. Hitting them is more like a bug bite then.
No time to brace themselves, they both felt full sting of Aquanon's attack as he dashed through. Sparks flew as the guys tumbled down. Clay got back up faster while Benji pondered in his head. Being a protector of goodness and helping people needs an insurance policy. Learn more about how to save 15 percent or more on your Ranger Insurance today! That would make some money for...like five people but still. Someone get on that.

Clay slammed down a fist on the pavement, a wall of solid earth shielding himself and Benji from the monsters beam. People who had been hit by the same thing looked bad. "We gotta git them people to some water, too. And fast!" the cowboy had a point. These people could die if they don't get water soon. Either get water or kill the monster to reverse his affect. Usually how it works. God, hopefully the Legion never gets an insurance policy on evil schemes. Life insurance so your spells stay spelled even after your death. Madness! Grinding his knuckles in the palm of this hand, Clay ran in after April and right hooked Aquanon in the jaw maw, gripping him hard and spinning him around and around, heavy punches in left and right.
"Got your back, guys," Benji alerted his friends, jumping high into the air with the staff out, thrusting said staff right into the beasts back.

Avlazor grumbled a grumble worth grumbling. "Avlazor knows he reptile! Amphimbians are cousins!" he said, butchering pronunciation of 'amphibians.' He knows what makes the color purple, but ask him to recite a class of animal and it's stirring a pot of very burnt salsa. "If Vorkalth want it, he get it," his devout loyalty to his master reigned supreme. That Charm will belong to him whether he has to kill this girl for it or not. She is a real thorn in his side, so killing her is part of the fun. Added bonus to today's mission. Spawners howled and roared like true demons following Dahlia, brutally attacking Erin after she morphed, coming at her from all angles. Maybe she can handle them, but its the big guy she has to worry about. The real meat and potatoes of this attack.
Avlazor grunted to Dahlia. "Me got here soon as me could. You trap Sentinel for me, but Avlazor not listen to you!" he waved her and Duncan off, now set on Erin without realizing she had dropped the blue charm.

Laughing and sweeping his own soldiers out of the way he bull rushed Erin with a hefty blow of his ax. Maul ax...ax maul...the big thing that's sharp and blunt at the same time. He grabbed her by the collar. "Give me pretty thing!" he demanded and tossed her away, slamming the weapon against her brutally and laughing merrily like life was but a dream. Only no boat doing gently down the stream to be seen here. Just as he readied to attack the fire lady again his ears bled from the boys scream. Boohoo, girl gonna die, he thought. Then he noticed the charm on the ground. "Avlazor deal with you later," he said to Erin, now walking right towards it. His goal is already before his very eyes. Legion have Eye, now they will have Blue Charm. Maybe a Purple Charm if red lady dies!
The Basilisk paused when Dmitri took the charm and used its power.

"You... you give that to me!" Avlazor demanded and held his hand out, wet from back splash on the Spawners.

I'll get to you when I can. Right now a Basilisk needs to be kicked back into the pits of Hell and people here need saving.
And then you'll have another fish to fry
. Gawain's final note on the group call was a pun. A freaking PUN. And the Shining Sentinel was so proud of himself. Anyway it would seem that the group call was over now. Made sense with Erin facing off against Avlazor on her own. Gawain was certain the general hadn't shown up alone and had brought his fiendish friends. So it was Erin versus a load of demons and Avlazor. He prayed she'd be fine on her own, but the odds seemed to be against her. Unlike the situation here, where it's four Sentinels versus the usual bunch. Not much time think about it though, for Aquanon came sliding towards them all, slashing with his daggers. Being struck stung quite a bit. Gawain's been hit with swords and magic and whatnot, but it never got any less painful.

He nodded in agreement with Clay and April. These people needed water before they died. And they had to stay clear from that beam lest they'd all end up the same. Dried out and dying. Gawain rushed in as well, greatsword at the ready, dealing a hefty blow to the aquatic monster. They had to stand their ground and either defeat this guy on their own, or keep him busy long enough for Erin to deal with Avlazor and join up with the rest of them.

Like an... owl. Somehow those words unsettled Fate and Novus a bit. The two exchanged a quick glance. Of all the possible birds Dahlia had specifically picked the Owl. Fate's thing. Lots of death being mentioned really didn't make the situation any better. Just who exactly were those people? Avlazor showing up with a small army had caught them by surprise. As did Erin suddenly telling them what to do even if it made sense. But what caught them the most was Duncan and Dahlia. Quite literally the two "kind" people seized them. And commanded the Legion to kill Erin and their... slaves?! So that's whom they'd walked into. Supporters of Vorkalth. But not even the kind of supporters he had in the old days. Those people, quite frankly, weren't evil to the core. Duncan and Dahlia however... holding slaves and valuing them so little that they wouldn't care to see them killed... That's a whole new type of supporters. Evil to the core and only wanting to see suffering. This kind of support has grown a lot in darker regions of Nexilis. Fate and Novus both knew that, but they had yet to see it in action. And here they were. Struggling with people using magic to control others.

They caught sight of Dmitri trying to speak against them but unable to do so due to the magic. They also caught him pointing to his neck. The amulets, bright and shiny and most likely the source of their power. "People like you, who'd use magic to control another, should never have access to such powers," Fate said, wrestling herself free from Dahlia's grasp, ripping the amulet off her neck and shattering it. "Nor should you think your magic is strong enough to stop us," Novus said. He may not be large enough to struggle with Duncan, but fairies have surprisingly sharp teeth. He bit down hard in Duncan's arm, forcing the man to let him go before destroying the amulet and fluttering to safety. All the while making a face as if he'd just eaten something disgusting. Evil people leave a foul taste in the mouth.
"Also, how wise do you think it is to turn the literal embodiment of fate against you?" Fate asked, magical energy playing in the palm of her hand. "You should know that never tends to end well." A dark look crept over her face. Fate was pissed... and threatening people? She definitely looked like she was about to cast a curse of her own on these two. Novus took a good glance at her, unsure whether to mischievously grin at the pair or back away slowly. Fate didn't get angry very often. In the few thousand years Novus has known her it only happened a handful of times.
"Yep... you're screwed," he told the two.

Fate was quick to cast her spell... or curse. Magical energy swirled around Duncan and Dahlia. Twisting and shaping them into...
A quick half smile appeared on Fate's face, and with a small scoff she finished her work. The looks of the pair had changed. "Now your looks shall reflect your souls. Twisted, ugly, and rotten." And indeed it had, for the pair... wasn't quite the pretty sight to look at anymore. Dahlia looking like a nasty old hag, and Duncan like some sort of river troll. Satisfied with her work, Fate left the two be and turned to the Spawners around, magic still swirling around her. "Now, who wants to play next?" She was serious and ready to put up a bit of a fight of her own.
"If I wasn't stuck in this goddamned Fairy form, I would kick your ass!" Novus shouted at a nearby Spawner, flying up and getting into its face. The Spawner looked confused at best, then whacked Novus into a nearby tree with its club.
"Oof!" the fairy grunted, falling to the forest floor. "I'll.... just go and help these people escape," he said, quickly flying back up. Perks of being a small fairy: speed and maneuverability. He darted between the Spawners, getting to the now freed people. "Hurry!" he told them. "Run! Follow me!" Getting them as far away from the Spawners as possibly was priority. But still not far away enough so they would no longer be able to witness the battle. It's not every day they get to see one of the legendary heroes in action. Nor is it every day that the Esteemed Fairy Novus tells them to friggin' run away. But hey, details!

Well that's a revelation Erin had not seen coming for sure. Now the nervousness of these two made sense. And the weird tone in their voices when they called Duncan and Dahlia their "father" and "mother". Under her visor, Erin's face grew shocked. "Wait... WHAT?!" she called out loud. All of these people were slaves. Slaves! So much for nice neighbors heling out and/or many adopted children. These two people.... these two who had looked so kind... Erin couldn't quite believe it, but the glowing magical eyes and amulets, people not being able to run, and nobody able to speak up against the two were clear signs. Oh, and of course Dahlia calling out to the Legion that any and all slaves in their way may be killed without them giving a care. Slaves! Her mind still wasn't over that. She felt something burning in the depths of her soul. Anger, fury towards the people who would treat these others so poorly. And all of that in the name of the Legion. In the name of Vorkalth. She heard the brief cheering of Quinn behind her. Combined with the sounds of running feet and dodging hits. How does it sound when someone dodges a hit? Well... you don't hear thuds and yelps and grunts!

Speaking of dodging... she'd better duck before Avla--... too late. The Basilisk hit her full in the chest, sending her flying backwards and landing on the soil with a loud thud. Even before she had the time to get up herself, Avlazor grabbed her and pulled her back up, demanding the Charm. Now, Erin didn't even know she no longer had it on her person, but even if she did she wouldn't give it to Avlazor. Never! "Not gonna happen, stupid lizard," she told him, immediately regretting it as she was heavily slammed into with the weapon again. Erin fell to the ground with a grunt. Lizard may be dumb, but he's strong as heck. She had to get back to her feet. These people needed protection. Erin had seen too much death in Camelot, and she wouldn't see anyone dying here today. These people... these poor cursed people, were under her protection. Not just Quinn and Dmitri. All of them. Minus Duncan and Dahlia. She ran back towards Avlazor, flaming sword at the ready, lashing out at him from behind. She heard Quinn's shriek and Dmitri's shouting. They were under her protection, she had promised!

Erin watched the Charm fly into Dmitri's hand. Just like when... Her eyes widened under her visor. Could it be...? She dodged an incoming blow from a Spawner. "Dmitri! Use the Charm!" she called to him. "Just do what I did... minus the fire-part. That's my thing." Even in the midst of a serious situation Erin found the chance to ramble. Stress makes people say and do funny things. Even more so when you're in a pinch. Or a deadly situation facing off against a basilisk that would just want to kill everything in sight. "Oh who am I kidding... You'll know what to do. Trust me!" Again she rolled to the side. Being on your own against Avlazor is.... tough. And then she's not even mentioning the Spawners and Ryxens terrorizing the people. At least they could really run away now? Or so she hoped.

Blows not blowing him down so easily as if a big bad wolf tried blowing down a brick house, Aquanon shook himself free and spun around, whirling daggers into the chests of male Sentinels, interlocking blade contact with Gawain in the process. April jumped in at the side, swept with the daggers as well. How refreshing it is that these do gooders want to swoop in like heroes and stop him. He'll dry out the entire city and then the world! Not a drop of water to hydrate any in the Legion's way. The world shall belong to them or be destroyed in the name of it. Ha! Aquanon shift weight from one foot to the other again, dancing with daggers harmoniously. Such evil, such moisture drawn from a sample of people invigorated him. Parts of him started to dry up. "I'm thirsty. Good thing I have some nice, delicious Rangers to sip on!" Wait wha? From the maw that is his face he spout the beam once again, this time to Gawain, and in the general direction of Clay and Benji. This time he's going to dehydrate Sentinels!

"Gawain!" April blurted, shoving him aside and taking the full blow of the blast. While not being completely dried out thanks to Ranger magic, April did feel a lot more dry than before. She's not as in bad of shape as those civilians but she's definitely feeling it even with magic at her side. She falls to the ground, demorphing, coughing and immediately thinking of how she can conjure a bottle of water in her hand if at all possible. "Clay, Be--*cough* be careful!" she called out to the others before they share this fate, too.
Aquanon laughed and absorbed her moisture. "Hmm. White Ranger is refreshing!"
---
Little reaction time left, Duncan and Dahlia gasped, their amulets destroyed. Fate turning angry is not something many have seen before even in legend. Nothing prepared them for that! The invading force of evil rampaged on, destroying all in their reach. As the amulets shattered, the spell over the slaves broke and allowed them to run truly free and away from the area beyond the invisible barrier set. A way to keep their 'property' in check. Another side effect of the broken spell to come later at a very vocal level. Dahlia shook herself off after Fate handled her and Duncan shook his arm after Novus' bite. Little bitch-fairy! "You can't do this! These are our slaves!" Duncan shouted as they witnessed now free slaves run away, likely to anywhere but here...maybe back to their families. Many of them may have been former travelers unlucky enough to stumble through here. Dahlia threw her arms up as Fate cast the spell on her and her husband. Now the two of them are as ugly on the outside as they are on the inside. Looking at one another, they screamed like prom queens with huge pimples.

"Erin!" Dmitri snapped out of his frozen state long enough to see her get pummeled by the basilisk. Passion flowed through his veins, erupting a volcano of thought within him. Or a tidal wave. His eyes shut tight, Spawners all around him watching and waiting for something to happen. He found himself in a mental black void. Nothing but the smell of sea salt. Where am I?
You, sonny boy, have been given a great honor.
A well known Spirit of Water appeared before him as once seen by the late Dylan.
Spirit? I... You can not be...!
I can be. If you allow me. Goodness, I sound like that damned rhyming tree. Listen, time is short, but you must become the Blue Ranger.
There has to be a mistake. I can not...
You can. It's inside of your heart. I will be here if you need me. Fate can tell you the rest.
Fate... she hadn't even spoken to Dmitri. She can't simply choose him by looking at him...what could she know about him that makes hi special? As Deluvian faded, Dmitri found himself back in reality. His eyes flung open, the charm in his hand glowing brighter than it ever has before.

Bringing it to his eyes he took a deep breath. Quinn found her journal...this is just like in the stories! If she hears the 'chosen' part she will flip like an otaku!
Avlazor demanded he get the Charm. Rising to his feet from the shallow water, he looked Avlazor dead in the eye. "Oh, I'll give it to you alright," he promised. Listening to Erin he used the charm. His essencia...his essencia...awakened. Sparking from within and waving water around him, the Blue Ranger powers dawned on a new warrior. Now standing, fully morphed, Dmitri felt water bend to his whim. "Surging Water! Blue Sentinel Ranger!" He fell into the same Tai Chi-like pose as Dylan had, single whip.
"Kyah!" he cried, cape syncing with the lake water as he bolt out of it and crash his feet into Avlazor, new power overloading him for the first time. He whirled his cape to stun Spawners all around, letting him check on Erin and regroup with her. "Erin? Red Sentinel I... how? It chose me? I'm one of you now?"

Quinn screamed. Not fear. But a fangirl scream.

Feeling the very fabric of their suits tear on every serrated stroke of the blades, Benji and Clay tumbled over while rolling onto the hard ground. Okay being cut down and tossed to the ground is old already. Nothing compared to some of the things they dealt with in the war for Camelot, though. Gee, for somebody trying to move past and just forget a few things they sure do think about it a lot. Like it's the most fresh thing in their minds or something. Hows about that.
Aquanon is thirsty. And no, not in the 2016-2017 way of being thirsty. If you catch the drift. Thirsty already for people. Up and moving around, glaive and mace in hand, the guys kept moving quick when Aquanon decided to drink some Ranger soda. Ranger Soda...doesn't sound bad, actually. Different flavor for every color. Brown and green could be... root beer and lime flavors? Red could be strawberry... gold is lemonade... white is creme soda... Now they're thirsty! Extra thirst coming right up. They watched April go down protecting Gawain, reversing knight and maiden roles. She wasn't bad off as the civilians but she was clearly in bad shape! Another beam heading right for them, Benji braced for impact when Clay jumped out in front and took the hit, dehydrating a fair amount in seconds. "Can't let the plant go dry now can I?" he quipped out before falling and wheezing for some moisture back into his body. Benji scattered to his aid, cursing to himself. He tightly gripped his weapon and lashed out at Aquanon, sharp Frisbee attack!
---
Fire and blade at his back hurt a real big lot. Sharp things and hot things don't feel good. Wild, right? Avlazor spun on his heavy heel, weapon blowing Erin's chest as his own back lit up with sparks from her fire attack. He would remind her why he is the deadliest warrior in the Legion. "Avlazor make purple for Vorkalth!" he announced. One thing he forgot...yeah Erin, nor did anybody here, know about the purple thing. So without context it takes away from what's happening next. Just over his shoulder after hitting Erin, he saw a boy glow blue. "Hey... you not supposed to do that!" he said. "Then give it to Avlazor!" he also said as Dmitri lived up to the promise of giving him the charm. Careful what you ask for? He just might...or will get it. Almost blinded in blue, he basilisk roared in anger. Hissed? He is a snake creature, but he is also brutish. Hiss-roar? Hisoar? Roariss? Amalgamating the two words is easier thought of than done.

"Blue! You not supposed to--ohhh!" Avlazor retorted, the new Blue Ranger kicking him back . The basilisk under new power flew right into a bunch of Spawners and took them out, fumbling around like a kid in a ball pit trying to get up. Why did he do that? There isn't supposed to just be a new one after one dies! Vorkalth isn't going to like this!

Once more being swept by a dagger was no fun. Gawain attempted to strike Aquanon right back, but the comment on Aquanon being thirsty and wanting to sip on some Rangers caught him of-guard. Drinking people? Was this fish a Vampire as well?! Oh no wait, the fish was of course referring to that beam THAT CAME STRAIGHT HIS WAY! Gawain braced himself for the worst, only to be caught off guard once again as April pushed him aside and took the pull blow. Demorphing and dehydrated. Damsel saves knight? That was something new. Gawain knelt by her side. "April... Goodness, are you--...." Then Clay was struck too, sharing April's fate. Now it was just Gawain and Benji versus Aquanon. Gawain grabbed his blade tightly, swinging it heavily at Aquanon. "Erin... please hurry..." he mumbled to himself. This wasn't looking very good.

"These are the people of Nexilis, now free as they should be. They belong to nobody but themselves," Fate retorted, still looking rather dark. Piss off the literal embodiment of Fate and she's going to remember. She won't take things like these lightly. The pair had to consider themselves lucky she had only chosen to make their outsides reflect their insides, for she could do so much worse to them. She turned her attention back to the Spawners, pushing them back using her own magic. Not related to any one specific Element magic, just Fate's own pure magic. She knocked them right back towards the lake before grouping up with Novus and the freed slaves. They still seemed rather terrified, but now also hopeful, knowing that the heroes of legend were back and there to protect them from their former masters and any further harm on the Legion's side.

Ear-piercing scream is... ear-piercing. Both Quinn's as the scream of the now very ugly pair. Erin rubbed an ear over her visor. Screams like that could deafen someone! And straight back tot the ground she goes as Avlazor dealt another blow with his weapon. She yelped in pain and scrambled to her knees once more. "Purple...?" she turned to Dmitri. "Any idea what he's talking about? Some secret obsession with colors?" Dmitri knew this world, obviously, and he might just know more of the Legion than she does. Being raised surrounded by all the stories on the Legion and the Sentinels... Guy likely knows more about this than the rest of them! An odd thought, seeing as how they were the Sentinels. Not the first time this thought has crossed her mind, really. As Dmitri stunned the Spawners with his cape, she saw the chance to get back to her feet and dust herself off... As well as pop a few joints. Avlazor using you as a punching bag is rather painful. Now standing side by side with him, she nodded. "Seems like it did. Or she did," Erin gave a nod towards Fate. "Either way, the answer is yes. You're one of us now. I say we safe the rest of the talking until these guys are back in Hell. As long as they're here, none of these people are safe." She assumed a fighting stance once more. Second wind hit her hard, refueled with excitement that their team was complete again (although it would never quite be the same), and eagerness to get Avlazor back to where he belonged so that they could leave and help the others. Speaking of which... "By the way, as soon as we're done here, we're going to have to head straight for Ebongrove. The rest is fighting an armored salmon." No further context, for there was no time and this was not the strangest thing to happen yet. Seemed like the whole "Chosen by Fate" talk would have to wait until both Ebongrove and Nexilis were saved from the Legion threats. "On the bright side there's a... big... chance you'll Beast today as well. And all of that on your first day!"
---
Something Avlazor was definitely right on... Vorkalth did not like any of this. Two loyal servants were now practically useless, their slaves were freed which meant more people to support the Sentinels and the King's cause, and the worst of it all... there was a new Blue Sentinel. The Charm had chosen yet another soul to bind itself to, nullifying the advantage the Legion had gained. Today was a day of heavy losses for the Legion. A day where the Sentinels were victorious. Unless Aquanon could turn the tides of this battle by draining all the other Sentinels before Red and Blue arrived. Vorkalth grumbled to himself over that earlier pun. He hated puns. Vorkalth summoned a nearby Spawner, just so he could magically obliterate it and raise it again until he felt less frustrated. Spawners scream in a funny way when you hurt them enough. A sound as satisfying as the snapping of a monarch's neck. Or their pleas, or screams of agony.

Patting his big tummy in a childish manner, Aquanon rejoiced in the pleasure of draining White and Brown of all their moisture. Hydrating! April dryly groaned at his happiness, resting aside while the monster deflected Benji's attack and pushed Gawain back without breaking sweat. If fish sweat at all. Who would know, since they're always underwater. Part of her wanted to reach out to Clay and check on him but she can barely move now that she's dried out. Dry throat, nose, skin, scalp and everything in between is the grossest and painful thing she'd ever felt. Contrast to Aquanon, who felt just peachy. Laughing, he dug those daggers into Gawain's chest and rounded into Benji nearby. A stomp on the ground and the space under their feet was slicker than snot due to water he'd been sucking up.
---
Dmitri shrugged his shoulders. "How should I know?" Avlazor's fascination with the color purple went completely over his head. Quinn's, too. Who had the time to think about that when he just became a Sentinel. Deluvian washed over his mind, protecting his soul and bonding with him greatly. This young man is passionate about keeping those he loves safe and letting the tormented run free. Brave and good, vigilant and capable of good things in realm of possibility. All of these things and more make him worthy of carrying on the Blue Ranger's legacy in the name of goodness. His childhood had been spent reading about the famed warriors of Fate. Now he gets to be one? Quinn may be freaking out more than him, and she isn't the one wearing a blue suit. Shaking that aside he agreed with Erin. Best to take care of the basilisk and settle things here to go help the other Sentinels. The other Sentinels...he gets to meet them! Never mind an armored salmon!
"Okay. With my people freed and cleared away, I have just the right idea. Let's do it," he told Erin ambitiously. "That is, if you're okay with.." he said, remembering she is the leader, here. Quinn tossed a small rock at him from afar. "Oh just kick butt already!" she scolded. Ow, rock right in the tuchus! Wow, sine when does he speak Yiddish?
Stepping up with wand in his hand, Dmitri pointed it to Avlazor in a two-step plan. "Avlazor. You're going back where you belong," he said. Making his way over to him, Dmitri punched, kicked, and swiped the general all around in a fit of new power before throwing him at Erin's direction while he got ready. "Double toil and boil!" naming of the spell needs...work. Clutching wand close to his heart, Dmitri let the water and blue lights of magic come to him from the lake and surge around his body in a water cyclone. Perfect for Erin to light up with her fire magic and create a boiling hot cyclone to blast Avlazor with.

Quinn mimicked all of the punches from a distance, playing along like a kid playing pretend. She can literally pass for that. She's having fun watching, shut up!
"That wretched... he is nothing but a piece of meat! He can't possibly have this power!" Duncan yelled about Dmitri becoming Blue. Under all of that ugly troll-ness it's hard to hear him, however. Dahlia cursed Fate's name. "Cursed Fate. I will have your head for this.." she said bitterly. The ugly duo approached Quinn from behind, the girl not having gone with the other slaves running away and far to safety and freedom. Startling the girl from behind, she snapped around. "Quinn, dear... It's time to go... come to momma," Dahlia said, relying on fear alone to trick Quinn into going.
But the girl isn't stupid. "You... are not... my... mother!" She said, struggling to say it. Whatever magic the slaves were under disabled them from running away before or speaking ill-mannered to the masters. The ugly duo was taken back. "You...heartless witch! You... pathetic bastard!" She raised her voice at the now powerless slave-owners. She grabbed a broom from the ground. "Go to Hell!" Quinn angrily shouted, sweeping it across their hideous faces, causing them to fall against their porch and breaking part of the wooden railing. Digging the blunt end of it into the ground, she dusted her hands off and marched away, head held high.

Cool ways to be a superhero: Bitten by radioactive spider, be hit my cosmic rays, a floating head in a tube abducts you from a youth center, maybe stop a baby carriage from being hit by a truck... Of all things that could happen, Benji slips in a puddle of Aquanon gook. After being hit, mind you. Talking dogs in cartoons manage to stay up longer on slippery surfaces than he did. Goes without saying more that he fell on his ass. Grumbling, Benji rolled around in the gook for a minute until he got clear enough to try something new. Taking the glaive, he merged it with the tip of his staff, charged by magic, to make a sawblade thingy. "In for it now, fishface! I call this the Weedwacker!" he said to Aquanon, slipping right on the rook to get to the monster, slicing his big fat gut with it in a green beam of forest. Creation magic at its finest, right? "Let's finish this, Gawain," he said, confident maybe the two of them could kill this thing before Erin even gets there! She mentioned Avlazor, so she might need the help more than them!
---
"Bah! Avlazor make purple for Vorkalth out of you two!" the big Basilisk retorted. Gee, that could be mistaken for him going to force the two to mate and make a little purple Sentinel. But side note, if a tiny little purple Sentinel just appeared it could be adorable. Or a yellow one if you extract color from green and blue... pink if you merge red and white... wow this went from battle to Crayola really fast.
Back up to his feet, he snarled and hissed as Dmitri got close and began fighting him. He's quicker than quick! "Why do enemies get strong when they fight for first time? It not good!" he complained, wondering why it is on a first morph these Sentinels are at the strongest. "You are slave, you are Vorkalth's!" he said to Dmitri, getting one massive solid hit in on him before being redirected at Erin. This slave can not escape. Avlazor will crush his bones and make him remember who he belongs to! And get that charm! Dizzy from the fight, he raced in at Erin full speed ahead again with weapon ready. Like in a meadow where two lovers run an another through sunflowers, he ran at her through...well no sunflowers. But he's gonna get her as Blue makes a bath appear, it looks like! Swing!

Gawain yelped as Aquanon dug his daggers into his chest., and then being knocked on his back due to the ground getting slippery in something Gawain didn't even want to know what it was. He attempted scrambling back to his feet. It's like standing on ice with slippery shoes. He managed, though. And once back to his feet Gawain charged at the big fish again, swinging his blade and launching rays of light at Aquanon. Gawain nodded at Benji, holding his own as best as he could. It sounded like Erin was in need of help much more than they were. The quicker they took care of Aquanon, the better it was.
---
"Well, you're from this world. Probably you know more funny details and legends about this place than I do," Erin shrugged. If even they didn't know why Avlazor had this odd obsession with the color purple, then it might just be something the lizard had thought of on his own. She gave Dmitri a sideways glance as Avlazor claimed he was going to make purple out of the two of them. "Does he even realize...?" she muttered, shaking her head. No, nope. No way. Not going to happen. She chuckled as Dmitri boldly came up with a plan and then crawled back like a puppy. "If you've got a plan that can help us out here, just go ahead with it," she said, nodding. In case he hadn't noticed it just yet, Erin wasn't one to care a lot for formalities or who was in the position of leadership. It seemed to be a shared thing among the people here. If any of the others had an idea, they were free to carry it out. Erin held back a laugh as Quinn threw her rock and scolded Dmitri. This might be one of the rare few kids Erin can tolerate.

Avlazor calling Dmitri a slave, saying how he belonged to Vorkalth, angered Erin. Nobody belonged to anyone. Not in this world, not in any other one. Not on her watch. Erin swung her sword, readying herself for the right moment to strike. She understood where Dmitri was going. She lashed out, striking with what seemed to be a fiery whip, blending with the cyclone, making it boiling hot, exactly according to plan. "Back to hell you go," she called as they drove Avlazor back, forcing him to flee back to the pit of hell he's come from.
Once the Basilisk was pushed back, she turned to Dmitri again. "Let's get going," she told him. "As Gawain just put it, there's another fish to fry in Ebongrove." She glanced at Fate and Novus. "Could you open a portal for us, please?" It was mainly the fairy to nod, casting a spell and opening a portal for the two Sentinels to get to the scene of the battle. Once the portal was right there for them, she turned to Dmitri for a moment. All of this was probably a lot for him to take in, and it was far from over. "Kind warning... Portal Sickness is a thing. It'll get better over time though." She then signaled for Dmirti to follow and hopped through.

"Quinn, dearie," Fate called after having watched the little scene between the girl and the pair of ugly Vorkalth-worshippers. "Why don't you come with us instead?"
"It's going to take another while before those two get back. There's still a demon to take care of," Novus nodded. "They'll get back to the Coven once it's done. In the meantime you can stay at the Coven." The place of legend, with tons of tomes and records written by the very heroes she worshiped. Should be an amazing chance, right? Something she could've only dreamed of.
---
Hopping though the portal was nothing new for Erin anymore. And surely the others wouldn't be too surprised to see her show up. What would undoubtedly surprise them, was the sight of a Blue Sentinel. "Whether update: something odd happened back in Nexilis. On the bright side: it's the good kind of odd." First words she uttered when popping out. Then she noticed the horrible shape April and Clay were in. Benji and Gawain didn't look a lot better. Not dried out, but certainly injured. "You're going to regret harming them, fishfreak." Erin said coldly, again readying her blade to strike and turn the monster into fried fish sticks.
Gawain turned as he heard the unmistakable sound of portals and people leaping through. He turned, expecting to see just Erin... but was stunned with surprise when he saw not one but TWO Sentinels showing up. Even more so since the second Sentinel was... blue. "How...?" he managed to utter, shaking his head in disbelief. "Blue." Ah, how very bright.

Did that Basilisk just imply that these two should...? Now that's just plain weird. Invasive, too. So far he is obsessed with the color purple, fair since it is a pretty color, and equally obsessed with making Erin and Dmitri mate. So the Legion of darkness and despair is hellbent on colors and baby-making. Great. So... this is the battle so many Sentinels have fought before? OH SHIT is that why the original Blue Sentinel perished? He wouldn't mate??? Had Dmitri been told wrong? Goodness what has he gotten himself into? Huge derailment aside, he focused harder on his magic. Essencia, water, the heat from Erin's power, all of it boiled in nicely in a cyclone. Avlazor's words hurt no more than the rock Quinn threw. "The only slave is you, you scaly dunce," he said back to the warrior general. Hiking the wand up, Dmitri fired the cyclone up into the air like a boiling hot missile of water, smacking it down right onto Avlazor in a sea of blue energy. And glints of purple...oh God.
While the cyclone washed him away, sparks lit up the ground and sent a message that Dmitri is here to stay and the Legion will have to get used to it. He turned on his heel, a big breath inward as he recovered. That was magnificent! He joined up with Erin again. So this is the feeling he's learned about all his life through stories and legend? Goosebumps as a kid compared nothing to those on his skin right now under the blue suit. But another threat yet lingers. He gets to meet the other Sentinels! It is a lot to take in but he'll help out how he can. He didn't understand why he'd been chosen, how the charm did what it did or anything. But to be here is an honor. "Portal sickness?" he asked Erin, tilting his head as the two stepped through. Mid travel...he felt it. "Oh... this is not pleasant at all," he said, his voice echoing out of the portal as it closed behind them, the portal closing on a sickened Dmitri's sounds of....oh not in the helmet!

Fate and Novus spooked Quinn. On her pride stroll after sticking it to her former owners and boo! Her emotional range stretched farther than the diameter of the planet today, or so it felt. The place she'd come to know as home for so long...it's gone. Her days as a slave are over and that is great. But part of her mind is...attached to this place? To be explained later, surely. After Dmitri comes back from wherever Erin took him. "You mean...I get to see it? The place where the Sentinels really...oh wow... just let me grab my journal!" she said, excited. Quickly she found the book and clutched it to her chest, ignoring the dazed ugly duo on the broken porch. "Ready!" and like that, she's off to see the Coven! The wonderful Coven of Oz!
---
Sparks rained from the gullet of the beast, spinning green weapon and heavy golden weapons hurt. For as fat as he his, Aquanon is oddly agile in his method of swinging around the remaining men and slashing at their backs. "Fools! Submit to your fate. It'll be less painful that way," he said coldly. "Once I drain you all of your hydration, I'll drain your whole city until I have enough power to drain the world dry. So much death, so much suffering, so much power for the Legion to build an army on. Maybe I'll even become one of his elite generals! Hahahahaha!" Aquanon boasted, loving the sound of his own voice. Stepping over to downed Sentinel Clay, he stomped onto his chest and kept his foot there, squishing him under his heel.

April coughed again and turned to her side, clenching fist against the ground. Her dry eyes glared up to Aquanon with hatred. If only she could... huh?
The portal opened, Erin stepping through as just the right time. "Glad you got it taken care...of?" she dryly asked. From behind Erin in the portal shot out a blue beam of energy to Aquanon, getting him off of Clay. After the beam stepped out a Blue Ranger. "D...Dylan?" April asked, confused, thinking out of her ass and dehydrated delusions.
So you just gonna let all of these people stay water-less orrrr? Deluvian asked. Good thing they picked up on it. Dmitri, now not so sick, emerged making his first act to cast mystical rain over all of Aquanon's victims, restoring their moisture and revitalizing them to good health. April instantly felt refreshed, basking in the rain over her and standing back up. Seeing it done, Dmitri grouped with all of the Sentinels as one. "You're the Sentinels... you're really the..." he said.
"Um...Erin who is this? He's...not who I think he is right? This is the good kind of odd you mentioned?" April wondered.
"I am Dmitri. I can tell you everything later. Right now I want to help you defeat that thing over there," he referred to Aquanon.

Good idea, on his part. Something has to be done, and it looks like they have a new friend to help! "Clay?" she asked the cowboy, ready to re-morph. Grabbing the charm she insta changed back into her powers. Dmitri took point and a deep breath. "Okay you fisherman's nightmare, you're going down." He sounded confident. Maybe being around a full team is invigorating?
"I'm not afraid of you! I don't care how many colors there are, your world is mine!" the monster said. April rolled her eyes. As if.
Six Sentinels together, Dmitri did something a bit...unnecessary at this point but eh, let him have fun it's his first day. "Surging Water Element! Blue Sentinel Ranger!"
"Soaring Wind Element! White Sentinel Ranger!" April played along. His vibe was a good one! "Power Rangers Sentinels!" Together as one, the Sentinels are in full!

"Yeah yeah, I know who you are!" Aquanon shouted and ran right towards them, weapons out and eager to cut. Bring it on! Running right through them he slashed around, darting to get wherever he could. April rolled out to the side, firing a shot from her crossbow into his back.

"Avlazor slave to no one!" Only Avlazor is practically a slave to his masters whim. It isn't slavery for those who purely enjoy serving something as great as the Legion. This fool thinks he is taunting Avlazor? Fool is wrong. Camelot stands reason enough not to cross the Legion. While the Sentinels technically won in their own right, the Legion triumphed and slew a king, his round table lackeys, and countless people as they mourn the loss of a great Blue protector. Blue is the dumbest color. Water is weak, water is...is...water is forming big missile thing. Avlazor swallowed at the sight of Dmitri and Erin's combined efforts. "Uh oh."
Crash! Powerful bursts and crashing waves of boiling hot water blasted Avlazor back in a swarm of splashes and scalding strikes. He washed away with the current of the water, cursing the Sentinels name. "Avlazor be back!" his voice trailed off Team Rocket style. Blasting off again...with a twinkle as he went so far he would be out of sight. Vorkalth and Nenet not gonna be happy...Blue Ranger back...Avlazor made a boo boo.

Dehydration sucks. Getting hit with a big knife sucks. It all sucks.
Clay coughed and firmly planted the palm of his hand on the ground to raise himself up with no success. It's indescribable what having all of, or most of, your body's water drained out. Dry skin and being thirsty have never kicked his ass this much. Nor has it even rendered him so unable to move. Watching helplessly as Benji and Gawain get blades sunk into their backs, the scrawnier of the two falling flat on his face and grinding his teeth. The back is a sensitive area! On the ranch his mom would just dunk his head in a pitcher of water or tell him to soak in the tub will a big straw leading to a glass nearby. Not now, he's an adult! But childhood remedies did the trick. Somehow he didn't think his momma knew how to handle a demon. Unless she did...Clay's mom is a Sentinel, anyone?
All of that train of thought derailed as Aquanon's foot slammed into his chest, Clay grunting and dryly coughing out. This hurts way more than being stomped when moist!

That's when it hit him. Literally, a thingy hit Aquanon and got him off of Clay. The cowboy and the artist looked up. Erin! Accompanied by...
No way... Blue Ranger? Benji rose up and weakly stated the same thing April thought. "Dylan?" Could it be? Could it really be??
Rain poured down onto dehydrated bodies, refreshing and healing Clay, April, the civilians, everyone. Sure he's soaked now, but dealing with wet clothes is better than an overly dry body. "Yeeeehaw!" Clay sat up, popping his knuckles and drinking the rain from the spell. Tingly. Since they have a break from the monster, now is a good a time as any to find out what's going on.
"Partner I do have to ask...but also say a mighty fine thank you for watering us back up," Clay said, both grateful and curious.
The Blue Ranger introduced himself to be Dmitri. Benji tilted his head. This guy...did Erin find him? And why does he look like a nerd going to their first convention? Seriously, judging his body language he looks like he might go limp. "Awesome...a new Blue Ranger!"

So there's six of them now! Nodding back to April, Clay morphed in a flash of brown and stood along this new Sentinel with the others. "We have a big fish to fry," Clay said, sort of repeating what's been said already. Or thought, at the very least. "Shaking Earth Element! Brown Sentinel Ranger!" Clay hunched into a pose.
"Sprouting Forest Element! Green Sentinel Ranger!" Now, united, six as one, it's a full team! "Power Rangers Sentinels!" Cue background music and/or explosion? Weapons drown out and ready to crack a skull, they ran for Aquanon and spread out. Clay, since he and April were the ones he sucked the water from, decided to team up with her. "Yee," he started, "haw!" Clay cried out as he slammed the mace right into the fish-faces...face!
Sparks flew so Benji could come in next. "Gawain, you and me!" he younger Sentinel declared and jumped up, not only holding the glaive but spinning with it. Sort of like a...Ring Fury? But that's a different story! Call this... Wacker Fury? Okay, nope. Just let Benji cut down into Aquanon...like this! Big slash at high speed with a knight!

Vorkalth was not amused with what had happened in Nexilis. That being a huge understatement. He sat waiting on his throne, hands folded together and eyes glowing bright with silent fury. Not only had Duncan and Dahlia lost their valuable slaves, forced worshipers of his power, they had also failed in laying their trap for the Red Sentinel, Novus, and Fate. The pair had seemed so promising at first, but now they had ended up like many others before them. Failures and a huge disappointment. The Red Sentinel and the mentors were still free. And to make matters worse the Charm, the very one thing Avlazor was tasked to retrieve, had bonded with a new warrior. A slave, nonetheless! Now the Sentinels were with six again, and an even worse plague than before.

As Avlazor returned, Vorkalth at first did not even look at him. Instead, he opened up another portal to Nexilis. Not one for anyone to walk through, but one that was simply meant to... get a message across. From the other end of the portal it ought to look much like gazing straight into the frightening, gaping mouth of hell. The swirling vortex moved and shifted until it revealed a visage of the ancient and angry shaman.
"Duncan and Dahlia," his voice boomed through. "You have failed me beyond what I considered possible. The Sentinel's leader and mentors are still free, you have lost your slaves, and have allowed for the Sentinels to gain another member among their ranks. One of your own slaves."
He remained silent for a long moment. The kind of silence that would make a mortal nervous. "I cannot allow for such failure. You are a disgrace to my name and are no longer of any use to me." While he hated to admit it, Fate's punishment of having their looks reflect their souls was fitting. But it wasn't enough. "As you are now, you shall remain forever, until you crumble with age."

Then, the Shaman cast a curse of his own, slowly and probably painfully turning the pair into statues. Statues that would be aware of their surroundings, but unable to act until Vorkalth would chose to lift the spell. They would feel the burning heat of the sun, they would feel the freezing cold and pouring rain. They would feel the birds sh--... you get it. Slowly as the centuries to come would pass, the statues would break and crumble. And that, too, they would feel. Never able to scream, never able to move. Until either the curse was lifted, or until the statues would be nothing but dust. And with his punishment for the pair in Nexilis done and the portal closed, he turned to Avlazor.
"As for you... you, too, have failed me today. You were defeated by a man who had transformed for the very first time. You have been awakened for long enough that you ought to be stronger." Really, Avlazor was getting close to defeating the Red Sentinel, and then he was stopped by a newcomer on the playing field. Unacceptable. Vorkalth opened yet another portal. "Enter." He commanded the Basilisk, sending him into a void-like realm. One where Avlazor... was weak. The weakest being around. Even a simple Spawner would be able to defeat him. "You will only be able to leave once you've defeated every opponent in there." For Avlazor it might feel like an eternity before he could leave. Truly it would likely only be a couple of days. That's what magical pocket dimensions are for. And once Avlazor would return, he ought to be stronger than he was now.
---
"He's definitely the good kind of odd I mentioned just now," Erin grinned under her visor, quickly checking up on her friends and lining up with them. "Everyone here still mostly in one piece, I see?" Until Dmitri saved April and Clay from looking like dried out raisins, things hadn't looked so smoothly. But now they were revitalized. The Sentinels were in full. Not quite for the first time, but it felt like it had been forever since they were with just the five of them. Erin popped her neck and cracked her knuckles, eager to turn Aquanon into fish sticks. Or sushi. Great, now she was hungry. And although they had already more or less done their rolecall and were already transformed, it felt so good to do it again with all of them.
"Scorching Fire Element! Red Sentinel Ranger!"
"Shining Light Element! Gold Sentinel Ranger!"

Gawain nodded at Benji as he declared them a duo in defeating Aquanon. "Right behing you," he said, charging in with his greatsword in hand. "Back to the Abyss with you, vile fish!" the knight said as he heavily swung the brightly shining blade, slashing it across Aquanon's chest, attempting to knock him back and give the next, and last, duo a chance at dealing their blows. Erin glanced at Dmitri. "Looks like it's you and me now. Let's do this!" she called, nearly jumping up and down in excitement. This is far from her first battle, but the adrenaline of having a complete team again was getting at her. "How about some more toil and boil? If it works against a reptile, it should work against a fish too." She gave Dmitri a friendly nudge. Would be the perfect change to show the others what their new friend in blue was capable off on his first day, too.

The mighty Shaman Vorkalth contacted troll Duncan and hag Dahlia through a vortex of Hell and darkness. The aura of their land changed, the very foundation shattered like their gems. Only moments ago had they picked themselves up from the damaged porch after their little slave beat them. Their garments blew heavily in wind. Trembling beneath the fear of the master is to be expected of those who defy the Legion's one and true leader. "Master Vorkalth, another chance, please! If not for that foolish child we would have succeeded in--" Duncan attempted saving their asses. One can not put out a forest fire with one bucket of water, however. This fire is already burning at a rate too hot to handle.
"Forgive us!" Dahlia pleaded. As the Shaman cast his curse, the two ugly souls embrace in a loose embrace, forever a statue of a semi-locked pair of followers, lovers...and evil, disgusting excuses for life. Settling the dust, the statue remained just in front of the lake by the house where so much torment had taken place. That's it for them!
---
Integration into the Sentinels' world will be easy but Dmitri can not decipher anything Clay is saying. He knows their names, yes, but that shouldn't be a surprise. That accent Clay has is... unique. Nevermind that, he's happy that everyone seems to be grateful for him. His heroes...grateful to him? Unreal! Good unreal!
Aquanon looked like he'd seen better days, taking arrows, blades, blunt weapons to every side of his ugly body. Don't hit him too hard, he may pop like a pimple! Nasty to think if he explodes when dead he goes up in pimple form instead of a fireball. Changing that subject really quick before somebody gets sick. The aquatic terror tumbled around for the final two Sentinels to finish him off. April watched with the others with curious eyes and a pounding heart, wanting this monster gone already!

Dmitri snapped out of his trance. "Read my mind, lady E--.... I mean.... Erin," he almost slipped up on that formality! Forgive him! Grinning under his visor, he nudged her back as a sign of comradery. This is so crazy. Being a hero, meeting heroes, being freed from slavery all within a half hour of each other! Quinn, if you're watching this, you or my predecessor, please know this is for you! This is for goodness!
As Erin repeated her actions from before at the lake he channeled a cyclone of water around him. The Sentinel Trident appeared in his grasp. Spectacular! he cyclone increased in size, both April and Aquanon watching with different reasons to grow wide eyed. If Aquanon can do that, anyway. "Throwing water at me, huh? Just powering me up, fool!" the monster shouted. Time to see who the real fool is. Dmitri leaped up int the higher space in the cyclone, boiling hot water beaming into Aquanon. It's hot, but it isn't hot enough to stop him! The monster was sucking it all up! He cackled, believing himself to heal. Until something poked him. From the center of the height came Dmitri, trident forward, stabbing right into his gut, the place he adsorbs the energy as well as exposed his weak point.
"Tricked you," he whispered to the monster, extracting the trident's blade and whirling it around for a final attack, slashing right across the ugly things gut in a blue ray of light. Aquanon fell, going down not like a pimple but like all the rest. Boom!

April hyped up! Bye bye Aquanon! Watching this new guy move the way he did reminded her of her first day as a Sentinel. Not too long ago, but it was a day she'd felt the strongest. New things all at once just seem better on the first day. Then you get used to it and will get beat up almost daily. But you endure.
She rounded up with everybody while Dmitri caught his breath. He just destroyed a monster! He has to be feeling awesome!
---
Curses. Aquanon has fallen. Nenet knows her leader is already bothered after punishing not one but three followers at once. He needs not tell her what to do.
Nenet then knelt down before the altar. She began the chant, dark magic swirling around her. "Gods and goddess of the underworld, hear my call. Girth of an ogre I beg be bestowed. Rise up this fallen creature, make thy victim large and strong! I command thee evil forces, rise this corpse to Godly power!" She chanted before the altar, the dark magic result in clouds above Aquanon's body...what was left. And on the surface, Aquanon rose up, answering the evil prayers of Nenet, making him giant and powerful!
---
"Now I will destroy the mortal world with one gulp!" giant Aquanon declared.
Dmitri jumped back slightly, knowing giants happen from his knowledge on Sentinels but never having seen one in person before. April shot her eyes up at him and glared. "Good job, Dmitri. You're a natural at this, really," she reassured their new friend. "Wanna try bringing out the big stuff?" she invited him to summon the Beasts. Always an honor to have giant things come to your call. Dmitri nervously scratched the back of his helment.
"Me? Okay!" Dmitri faked confidence. "Beasts, here now please!" he called. And!...nothing. Shame and silence. "...maybe Erin would like to do it?" Dmitri said instead. April giggled. He's learning, it's okay. Six Sentinels, now time for six Beasts!

Hesitation on a command looks bad if proving loyalty or obedience to a superior. Avlazor, sadly, is full of obedience.
Bowing his head bearing witness to the fate of Duncan and Dahlia, he did not argue when Vorkalth opened a portal for him. Stepping through, head hung low and weapon dragging behind like a sad toy, Avlazor found himself in a dimension where he was weak and everything else was strong. Everything. Including a massive swarm of. fuzzy...hoppy...bunnies. An angry mob of bunnies? Big ears, twitchy little noses, excellent eyesight due to carrot-eating and oh yes that powerful hopping ability! These bunnies don't even ask 'whats up doc', too busy on the prowl. The basilisk swallowed. "Mother..." he said, the wave of bunnies overpowering him before any other attackers could attack. The power of the bunnies is too great! They...they're crushing him! Gahhhhhh! OH GOD ONE BIT HIS HAND NEARLY OFF. "Bad bunnies! Bunnies are bad!" Avlazor yelled under the horde.
---
Not many can say they've run in against a vile monster along side a real knight of the round table. Renaissance fairs do not count. Benji certainly has an advantage of those dweebs. Them, and live action role players. What nerds! This entire thought process is just to call people out, apparently. Having cleared the way for Erin and Dmitri to come attack Aquanon, he was really excited to see this new guy at it. None of them had been at this for very long, minus Gawain, but having this slight seniority over the guy peaked interest in him. As the youngest of the group that means a lot to Benji! Clay on the other hand is just happy he's on their side. The guy doesn't quit, and he healed him and April up real nice. Throwing water at a water-based monster is less than ideal, though...
Really? Water on a water monster? Drowning it isn't an option. Neither is washing it away. Beaching it? There's no beach here, and last time they checked Aquanon isn't a whale. Beached whales are sad, Aquanon is bad! Dmitri's course of action really isn't looking up so they're gonna have to come up with a plan B!

But. No they won't. He used the water to lure Aquanon in a false sense of security, jamming that weapon in and slicing him like sushi. Clay and Benji cheered it on. "Lots of steam going on, Erin! Boiling the wound is... God I don't wanna think about it..." Benji thought, then stopped thinking.
"Yeeeehaw! That there is how it's done!" Clay smacked his knee and let out his famous cry. Aquanon blew up! He did it! Okay it's never really cool to just throw your arm over someone you just met, but Clay threw his arm over Dmitri's shoulder. "Yeeehaw!" he repeated. "You is gettin' a crash course in being a Ranger, aren't ya? That was terrific!" he said to Dmitri with a lot of praise.
Benji smiled under the visor and nodded his head. "Really, great job! None of us have been doing this too long but you're, dare I say, ahead of us?" Speaking of ahead, Aquanona literally was ahead of them in height as he returned under a spell, this time giant and wiling to squish them like...fish?

"The Beasts would be really nice right about now. Anybody is welcome to being 'em out!" Phoenix, Capricorn, Gargoyle, Centaur, Hippogriff, Dragon... please!

The new young man was going to fit in among them just fine. Gawain had already figured out that much. His admiration for the other Sentinels is truly endearing. They were the heroes this man had heard and read about his entire life, and now he got to fight by their side. And not just for this one time too, it appeared. If that had been the case, Deluvian wouldn't have bonded with him. The Charm would not have chosen him. Using water against Aquanon, however, did not quite seem the ideal way of dealing with him. Why Erin would suggest this was a mystery to him. Soon enough Aquanon would be back at full power! But... maybe not. As it seemed it was merely a distraction and Dmitri sliced into Aquanon like a chef filleting a freshly caught bass. And now Gawain was hungry AGAIN. That's what you get for skipping on lunch!

Erin cheered as Dmitri "poked" Aquanon in the gut with the trident. That's gotta hurt! But that combined with fire boiling straight into the wound... That was enough to make Aquanon go down like they always do. In a blaze of sparks, fire, and glory to the Sentinels. The air smelled like fried fish now. It made her stomach grumble. What's this with everyone getting hungry in the midst of a battle? Seriously! She rounded up with everyone else, happy that Aquanon was dealt with. But another thing they always do after blowing up... is coming back. The size of a skyscraper and angrier than ever. Erin nodded in agreement with April, letting Dmitri give his try at summoning the Beasts to come to their aid.

Erin chuckled lightly, patting Dmitri on the shoulder. "It's pretty weird at first, huh?" she asked, remembering how she'd responded when the Beasts first appeared to the four of them. Her order had sounded more like a question, but somehow it had worked well enough. They'd all had to learn. In fact, they all still were learning. Every encounter they'd had had taught them something about being Sentinels. What it meant to be a hero, what was at stake... But none of that right now. This time they really literally had a big fish to fry. A 30-something foot tall fish called Aquanon that was threatening to drain the world dry in one gulp. She placed her hand over her Charm, sending the mental message across the magical borders to the Coven. "Calling the Beasts!" she called out. And sure enough the portals appeared in the sky, on the land, and in the water, six Beasts coming forward from their respective locations. Phoenix, Hippogiff, Centaur, Gargoyle, Dragon... and the Capricorn. With a new soul bound to the Blue Charm, the Beast once more had a master. And for a moment, it went straight over to Dmitri to introduce himself. And the other Beasts seemed excited too, to see their companion back in action. "Beasts Combine!" Erin called the command. "Hold on tight, you're in for a wild ride," she warned Dmitri, leaping up into the cockpit of the Phoenix as their Zords merged into one. "Titan Megazord!"
"Initiate Transformation!" Gawain called the command to his own. "Chevalier Megazord!"
And so there stood two Megazords, facing off against Aquanon.
"Okay fishface. It's time to deal with you once and for all!" Erin called.

Portals from the other side brought out legendary Beasts capable of filleting this fish. A sight to behold now casual-like to the rest of the team but brand new to Dmitri. He had never seen such giant creatures before. He's seen a massive snake at the lake before that nearly swallowed one of the other slaves whole one summer. Eight feet of snake compares not to like 40 feet of dragon or anything. Powerful surges through Dmitri's heart told him the Capricorn was his to command. That and it's really big and blue. Quinn in the Coven, after fluttering her heart by being in the Coven, watched the Beats from there and nearly lost her shit. Again, today.

"I'm getting really mad! I wanna play Ranger Stomp!" Aquanon yelled out, stomping at the Rangers on the ground, narrowly missing them as they leaped into the Beasts. Hippogriff soared right on by him, disorienting the monster as Capricorn came up on him. The Beast introduced it self to Dmitri somehow, letting him know he's welcome here and that he will fight with him as one. The Capricorn...sea goat... amazing! Dmitri thought.
You haven't seen amazing yet. See what it can do! Deluvian chimed in. Knock this blowhard to the ground! Two sides of their personality coming through at once? Dmitri nodded to his Spirit, Capricorn not joining the merge of Beasts yet as it wrapped around Aquanon in a serpent-like fashion, butting its head into Aquanon's while tightening grip as it unwrapped for a nice twist of sparks! The monster yelped and stumbled. Then he joined the others for combination!

"Titan Megazord!" Dmitri and April yelled, now united as one on their spots with the others. The leg team! "You weren't kidding about the wild ride..." Dmitri said to Erin, recovering from that attack. In comes Aquanon shooting both Megazords with massive bursts of water. Good thing he can't dehydrate Beasts!
"I think we need to kick some butt," April said. Dmitri could not agree more with her. Note the 'kick' part, as they are leg team. Both fell into an action stance, Titan mimicking the same. Synchronicity, Essencia going through their veins, a team united... this is a truly good feeling. Dmitri kicked upward, the Megazord following his actions with a swift upper kick. April swiped her leg around, Hippogriff's leg mimicking it. Aquanon took the kicks like a real monster, losing his daggers in the process. Growling, the fish monster clawed at the Titan, leaving his back open to Gawain but underestimating how tough these Sentinels are.

So Dmitri couldn't get the Beasts out when he tried. Do toddlers know long division? No they do not. Anybody doing anything for the first time won't likely get it right and there is no shame in that. Humorous, however, how he did try to get them to come to him. Saying 'please' at least shows humility and manners. Huge beasts from a mystical realm maybe don't respond to the same manners as people of Earth and Nexilis do but there's not an official statement. Beasts may find manners offensive! In which case it's a bad first impression. Maybe not, since they did come when Erin called them in the nick of time without anybody getting squished by Aquanon. Gargoyle grumbled and rumbled around, Centaur neighing while firing arrows from its bow, the oddman of the Beasts being the one to have a humanoid half to it in some way.

They combined with the others. "Titan Megazord!" Now stood the multicolored Titan next to a very shiny golden Chevalier towering over Ebongrove facing off against a giant fish freak. Energies inside of the cockpit space felt different. Dylan not being a part of this threw things off a little bit, though Dmitri's energy added a new layer to the mix. More paint to the palette, more eggs to the batter. So it's a good different. By how it's going, the new guy, whom showed up not even ten minutes ago had already defeated a monster and joined in the Megazord. Not even the others did that much in their first day. (And unbeknownst to the others, he took on Avlazor!) "Looks like you're getting a crash course in being a Sentinel," Benji said after a kicking flurry had been unleashed and they got clawed at.

"How about we give 'em the ol' one-two?" Clay suggested, throwing a punch when Aquanon got in close and aiming square for his big jaw. Benji got in on that action and jabbed for his gut, firing an arrow shot from the Centaur's bow as well. A shame Benji's weapon on the ground isn't a bow. That'd be fun! Maybe he'd be more creative with these shots... but shooting generally at a torso is effective. Awesome sauce. If April and Dmitri are 'leg team' foes that make Benji and Clay 'arm team?' Both of them threw punches and one fired a shot, maybe that's their demo? Together they shoved Aquanon back open for a slice of a blade or two. Forming that bow into blade mode gave them just the opportunity.

"Warned you," Erin grinned under her visor and glanced at Dmitri for a moment. What must be going on in his mind right now? In one day, his first day of Sentinel-ing, he'd been introduced to more than they had on their first day. Guess there's no room for gradual introductions anymore when the Legion got their filthy claws on an Artifact and slain a monarch. And of course, after a Sentinel has died. So many things were at stake. This was now more clear than ever. "The good thing about them growing so big... if you can call it good... Several things. One: They may be tougher but they're also a lot dumber. Two: They're easier to hit. Three: The bigger they are the harder they fall." Thank you for your attention. This was another lesson in the crash course "How To Be A Sentinel". Side tracking aside, Aquanon's attempt at dehydrating the beast was thankfully fruitless. And getting kicked made him lose his weapons too.

Arm team and leg team were doing their thing well. Wait, what made that Erin? The chest team? That's terrible... and unless the Titan Megazord had a hidden cannon in there, being just the chest (and head) made her... not very useful? Although technically she's in charge of the team, it didn't really matter a lot in here. Everyone did their part in making the giant mecha stomp the giant monster. Well, with the fishfreak pushed back and all exposed, she might as well make use of the bow turning into a blade. "Let's fillet this sucker," Erin said. Pretty bad since the fish had sorta sucked the water out of her teammates before. Not that she's actually seen that happening. "Titan Slash!" she motioned for the blade to slash, megazord following suit. The blade came down, slashing heavily at Aquanon, sparks flying everywhere. Another thought occured to Erin. And of course it was related to fire. When they were small, they sparked. When they were huge, they did the same. But the sparks grew to the same size! That had to look like a whole damn meteor shower from the ground! Dammit, now she wished she'd been paying more attention when Gawain in his dragon took care of a giant in Avalon. Then she would've known what it looked like. Speaking of their golden friend....

"I'm more a fan of skewer, personally," Gawain chimed in, regarding the attacks on Aquanon. "Chevalier Thrust!" Over at his Megazord he jabbed his blade forward, into Aquanon's exposed back. This sent even more sparks flying. "Everyone, I say it's time we finish this," Gawain suggested, siding his Megazord with the Titan again. "And I say let Dmitri here have the honor."
"Couldn't agree more," Erin nodded in the cockpit of the Titan. She then turned to their newfound friend again. "You can do it. We all believe in you." Come on. End your first day on the most epic possible note!

Palpitations of the heart, shortness in breath, irregular fluttering of the eyelids, sweaty palms. Side effects or signs of a heart attack/stroke, or results of the ultimate fanboys reaction to his heroes bestowing admiration and approval. These Sentinels were new to the game themselves but nevertheless were part of something greater than all of them. Chosen by Fate, protecting the web of worlds... all of it and more got to Dmitri. Unlike Gawain, he wasn't too shocked by this world that the team of Rangers lived in since his masters had kept an eye on it and thus shared with the slaves. Well not so much 'shared' the info but their slaves would spy and peak in at times when they contacted their master Vorkalth. He could say this is like seeing a fictional world from a movie turned into a theme park and visiting it for the first time. You've seen it before but being there in person isn't as magical as having never seen it in the first place. Still neat.

The way Aquanon flailed and succumbed to the Sentinels' attacks from every direction in every way is honestly pathetic and just a little bit sad. Feeling for the monster on part of it being sad to see a creature be helpless but pathetic in that a powerful monster who'd sought out drying the world is now as useful as a jellyfish in a sumo match. The monsters gut ached and back burned, reduced to a smoldering pile of flesh laying in waiting to be finished off.
Dmitri felt the feelings again. Sweaty palms under the suits gloves were very sweaty. April nodded happily and encouraged Dmitri as Erin shared the joy of him doing the honors. So far everybody had gotten to do this! This meaning lead the final strike. Minus Clay, but his time will come definitely! He rules!
"I... I do--..." he started, interrupted by thought.
You have what it takes. Shed some light on it. Summon the Unicorn. A Beast from your predecessors final battle. Claim your destiny! Deluvian enthusiastically told him in their softer womanly form.

Aquanon flailed and fired again, this time shaking the Titans up a little. He blasted Ebongrove city afterward in an angry fit of rage. "Okay, I'm going to do it. Calling the Unicorn!" he recreated Erin's summoning ability. And it worked! Riding in from nowhere on a majestic path of light came the pearly horse with a horn. Unicorn! Neighing and trotting along through Ebongrove. "Combine!" Dmitri commanded it, the Beasts merging with the Titan as it did back in Camelot.
"Avalonian Titan Megazord!" he shouted in triumph. The it hit him that he actually summoned a beast and got it to merge. "I...I did it!" he jumped up in his place, ignoring the attack of Aquanon on the city. April gently tapped his shoulder and pointed out that way. "Oh, right.." he cleared his throat.

"Finisher! Final thrust!" Mystical blue light emitted from the lance weapon, joined by the remaining Sentinel colors until it shined golden and bright. Dmitri mimicked movement, thrusting it forth into Aquanon and ending his rampage forever! "Villain Vanquished!" The Blue Sentinel rose his hand to victory, the Titan doing the same...lifting the lance into the air as well and nearly decapitating Gawain's Megazord. Accidents happen? April humbly and graciously clasped her hands. Ebongrove is safe. The Sentinels...are 6!

Some time later back at the Coven.

Arriving through a portal, demorphing as they enter the base of operations, Dmitri's eyes flew open to how incredible the Coven was. So much of...everything. "It's just like in the stories..." he whispered to himself. He was in awe. His differently-colored eyes reflected light from every source inside. April followed behind with part of the bags from Gawain's shopping adventure. Together the Sentinels approached the middle of the Coven to find Fate and Novus...no Quinn? Only yes Quinn. She poked her head from above on one of the higher bookcases on the second story. If that's a second story? Laying eyes on the other Sentinels....she screamed. No actually SCREAMED. April jumped and nearly lost her balance!

"Sentinels!" She shouted and ran down at the speed of light. "I watched you the whole time! You were like bam! And he was like nyyyyyah! And she did the HI-YAH!" she rambled on, pointing to every one of them and just having the time of her life. Until she ran out of breath and play-fainted. Dmitri laughed.
"This is my sister Quinn," he said. Not by blood, her skin color alone says that, but foster siblings are siblings nonetheless. April waved and smiled at her. "She is just adorable! Hello Quinn, my name is--" April started but got interrupted.
"You are April. Soaring Wind! And you're Clay, Shaking Earth! Benji, Sprouting Nature! Gawain, Shining Light! " Quinn pointed to each of them, did their pose, and perfectly executed them as she did so. April paused...and nodded. Just nodded.

Dmitri shook his head but smirked at her. He walked over to Novus and Fate with that familiar level of wonder as the others did the first time they laid eyes on this place. Almost like it's part of that first adventure being re-lived.

Dmitri's killing it. No literally, he and the others are wiping the floor with Aquanon. Removing hydration from living things isn't an easy task when living things are inside of others made of metal. Brings up a good question; are the Zords alive if they're made of metal? A metal-like material at the very least. Robots on the side of magic and myth never really crossed anybody's minds but the aesthetic would be so off if a bunch of scaly or feathery Beasts made a bigger scalier Beast. Proportions already flew out of the window a long time ago who cares, right? As a team the Sentinels brought Aquanon to a pummeled state of defeat ready to pay for his actions and attack on the city. Saving Clay from dehydration and saving Benji's hide already got him a good place in their books. However he came to be who he is now they're sure glad it's him. Dylan would be proud, too.

Coming forth, Unicorn! As radiant here as in Camelot, Nimue's final gift to the Sentinels had returned. Combining they formed "Avalonian Titan Megazord!" and initiated the last act of the fight. Benji backed up Dmitri in every way, faith into his new friend as well as the team being whole again. Clay gallantly joined his efforts. This is the new guys shining moment in the limelight! Bluelight? Something absurdly colored, for sure.
Kapow! Finishing thrust eliminated Aquanon and put an end to that monsters reign forever. Other than nearly killing Gawain's mech, which Benji oh-so calmly reacted to as Clay slapped his knees in hilarity, this was a pretty good debut of the new guy. Some may disagree on the receiving end of near-decapitation. Through Benji's minor panic almost seeing Chevalier's head fall off and Clay's 'yeewhaw' let out for the 2,837,q34th time (yes there is a q) there's the hint of victory and for the first time in a while...peace.
---
The Spriggan latched onto Benji's leg, saying 'pyou!' in delight as it did so. Just after powering down and entering the Coven, Benji's already got splinters in his calf. But when the splinter-giver is so cute and kind of cuddly its hard to get annoyed. He pet the leaves atop its head and walked along, stretching his arms high over his head, rejuvenated after a long fight.

Clay walked in with more of Gawain's stuff, adjusting his hat in a reflective surface on their way inside. He had it just right when he heard 'SENTINELS' come from nowhere in a high pitched young girls voice. He jumped and lost his hat. "Tarnation???" he asked, eyes shooting directly up to Quinn. He'd nearly nudged Dmitri over the story comment and asked him if it was everything a story told him it was. It's cool how this is all a fantasy come true, through and through for Dmitri. To the rest of them this is something they stumbled upon at the right time. Opposite levels of reaction here. But that did take him back to the first meeting in the Coven. Confusing day, it was. The girl ran down, being introduced to them all.
"Well howdy there, Quinn," Clay said with southern hospitality, kneeling down to her level even though she isn't a really little girl. Extending his hand to her he too paused as she recited their names before they told her, as well as doing their role calls and poses. Clay blinked and stood up. "Well I'll be a cactus in the middle of winter..." he said. Is that good or bad?

Benji swallowed. The girl knows who they are...did the fairy tell her? "Hello..." Benji awkwardly added in. "That was odd. But cool... it's nice to meet you," he said to her. Really nice to meet her, if she's Dmitri's sister.
