Fandom Mercy Falls: A BNHA Prison RP

Errant Voyager Errant Voyager
Sounds cool, just so long as it isn't super lethal.

PlusUltra PlusUltra
You might be thinking of D&D doppelgangers, which are basically shapeshifting aliens and don't really have anything to do with the original mythology. Folkloric doppelgangers are just someone that looks the same as you, commonly taken as an omen of death or misfortune. Which, actually, I'm kinda surprised you went for things like battery/kidnapping/sale of contraband and not, you know, impersonating an officer or something that lined up with your guy's gimmick more closely. We'll just chalk that up to a difference in aesthetics, I guess.

That was actually part of the Identity Fraud and was used to carry out the rest, ie Impersonating a Hero/Officer to commit fraud/steal/break in etc. But it is a long list of crimes she has been doing while impersonating people hence why she was able to do so much. Just kinda did too much too fast and got too hot.

But yeah i was going more the Fantasy DND versions that is what has become the more popular interpratation, the initial quirk was "Understudy" i just changed it to doppleganger since it was a clearer and more concise idea of what it involved.

Nope! Not super lethal, just really itchy at the spot the stinger made contact alongside headaches and stomach pains causing you to spend a sick day if you had one! Plus what fun would just lethal be anyway?

And surely Lucia will have like the best twisty straw collection!

PlusUltra PlusUltra I don't think I've ever actually seen a dnd-styled doppelganger in anything outside dnd proper. On another note, though: Where's this character supposed to go? Like, I look at Errant Voyager Errant Voyager and I can tell that he's going for a basically good kid getting peer pressured and manipulated into becoming a career criminal and that's a solid arc that can go a lot of places. Your guy's already a hardcore career criminal with deep ties to the community and everything, so I'm just kinda wondering where you're planning to go with this from there. Like, is she just gonna slowly spiral towards an emotional breakdown from overuse of her powers or is there something I'm missing? Because if it's that sort of thing I can probably whip something cool up to accommodate.

CactusJuice CactusJuice Zamasu Zamasu Quiet Quiet Yeah things are open, probably starting on Sunday if we have some dudes together- the nature of the setting makes it pretty easy to introduce people on the fly though, so no worries about missing the boat. Feel free to post your CS in this thread so we can hammer things out.

The angle is she wants to become her own person and figure out who that is, rather than just a shadow of others. Most of the stuff shes been doing has been small time in scale, and been directed by someone else. Her current idea was hit the big time and be her own villian, because thats what everyone around her dreamed of doing. Maybe with the right influence she could even go the other way, as shes more a reflection of what shes had around her and quirks been responsible for that....but with some of the heroes shes been impersonating before being imprisoned shes eventually going to be pulled in multiple directions. Which may lead to a emotional breakdown as she cant be what everyone wants them to be, and doesnt know who she herself really is.

Does that help a bit? I mean i can tone down her list of crimes but im guessing they sound bigger than they are, nobody has actually been hurt and the kidnapping was more someone else did it but she was involved, and then she impersonated who that gang had taken. In a shorter bio i guess things like this are harder to come across.

thought process: how wild can we take a setting that's already wild?

Name: Zelda Jeanne Fitzgerald. / Prisoner 44601

Appearance:
tumblr_inline_o3izm0gx2O1rpjv75_540.jpg

Age: Sixteen.

Concept: Originally born in the city of Brighton in Great Britain but orphaned by a freak accident involving a local hero's gravity quirk and a car crash at nine years old, Zelda Fitzgerald entered the custody of her only other known living family member (her third cousin, fourth removed) in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. While growing up in her neglectful yet overbearingly religious care, the visions of the accident continued to haunt the young Zelda and she was convinced over time that the visions were angels in actuality that were showing her a divine pathway to save the country from the rapture. With the activation of a special Quirk ability, her cousin fueled her madness with his own to convince her that the angels were telling her join a cultic conspiracy to assassinate the incumbent President to save the world. Although unsuccessful in her goal, her charges in cult activities were more than enough to warrant incarceration.

tl;dr: Crazy Catholic Homicide Clown, strangely innocent and pure like fresh snow.

Charges: Three charges of armed assault, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to assassinate a government official, kidnapping, and one parking violation.

Sentence: 35 years with possibility of parole under weekly psychiatric evaluation.

Quirk: Inflation: The ability to inflate objects and people with pressurized helium, causing structural weakness in the surface like a balloon.

Drawback: It causes objects to be incredibly weak (have you ever seen how easy it is to pop a plastic balloon?), gives them the opportunity to float away uncontrollably, and lacks a method of deflating afflicted objects non-lethally.

Skills:
- Comedy.
- Fitting herself in tight spaces.
- Gardening.
- Piloting (note: limited only to helium based travel.)
- Interpreting religious texts.
- Scaring children.

Other:

[/spoiler.]

So the Chimney Stack, Clown, Scorpion and Mimic walk behind bars.....

PlusUltra PlusUltra Yeah, we can probably work with that. So her arc would involve something like building/usurping her own gang and going independent?

Quiet Quiet Edgy, but the core concept is charmingly offbeat. Your character's Quirk presents some serious issues, though. Mostly being hyperlethal, permanent, and having no restrictions on it's usage at all. I mean, I get the idea, she does the dig dug thing and then they kinda float away looney toons style, but your drawbacks are all distinct advantages. So first and most obvious thing we have to knock off is the "structural weakness" thing because that's totally out of left field and where most of the main issues stem from. Maybe instead you should just go with inflating things and making them super-light/lighter than air depending on degree. That gives you enough utility for your character to actually make use of her quirk in interesting ways that go beyond "instantly kill people". Secondly, we'd need to give it some actual drawbacks- objects deflating with time is a given, but we also need to establish a range on it. Maybe she needs to inflate things by blowing air into them like one would do with an actual balloon? That way it's limited by her lung capacity, too. Piloting and to a lesser extent gardening seem odd for skills as well; wouldn't things like juggling or balloon animals or a really good sense of balance make more sense for a clown?

Zamasu Zamasu And on this one I'm going to say no outright. Your characters crimes and background would easily put him at the maximum security level, and furthermore this isn't really an rp for characters who are already highly successful criminals- PlusUltra's guy is already skirting the borders there, so I'd say keep at or below that level. Even if it's just a flavor thing, your charge is way too light for your character's listed crimes. I don't really understand why "tactics" has quotes around it and in addition the skill list and concept sections don't really give any idea of your character beyond "fights people". Finally, your Quirk of "immune to everything except stiff breezes, which kill him instantly" isn't really doable because it's something that by it's very nature abuses the unspoken agreement that I won't kill your character off out of the blue.

I'm sorry to say that as it is your sheet is functionally unsalvagable and you're going to have to go back to the drawing board here. Is there anything in particular you want in a character, though? Perhaps I could help you come up with something that'd work better.

Yeah that combined with figuring out who she really is and not be controlled by those around her either through her quirks effect or through their efforts.,

Shining Wizard Shining Wizard Fair dig; I will admit that the idea of her using it as a hyper instant kill, just add helium method didn't occur to me, but I'm glad you actually did see the latent issue. I assumed that, by virtue of there being no simple way to deflate without actually breaking the object/person, it'd be a dire circumstance to think about when and where to utilize the ability. So the most natural inspiration was: how easy are balloons to pop?

A physical lung power ability does fix one issue nicely though! It would also limit her on the size and shape of inflatable objects (larger surface area = more helium.) I'll get on the fix right away.

(Also side note, her "gardening speciality" was actually supposed to be a reference to the children's book The Farmer and the Clown. No justification aside from that, but just fun fact. I'll do away with it though!)

And it is good to get/make various common ground or links or what-not you can work with! It gives you things to play around with yanno?

Name: Alexis Schmidt

Appearance: images (4).jpegdownload (2).jpeg80fc73b4297ed70abf82b12be0d719da4a89ebcf_hq.gif

Charges: Assault with a deadly weapon, Attempted murder

Sentence: 11 years

Quirk: Blade Body-Alexis is capable of sprouting blades from anywhere on her body, from her hands, to her feet etc.

Drawback: Alexis’ blades are created by using a storage of iron inside her body while making a one or two blades is fine, if she makes too many she can suffer from iron deficiency. She can restore iron by eating food high in iron or by straight up chewing up and eating metals.

Skills: Faking emotions, excels in math, can read body language

Skills: The typical skills of the average high school student, that is to say, not many at all.

Other:

Shining Wizard Shining Wizard
Well I got the basics down, but I'm a little worried about her being too underwhelming for superjuvie. Should I go with something else?

Zamasu Zamasu - Heeey so, feel free to ignore it if you want; but don'tcha think you are just playing it kinda weak with a 'has a TV Head angle', like you can do cooler stuff than lightning bolts!

Like lemme just, throw down an example

Drawback; Has an actual television for a head and cannot communicate except for broadcasted information and Universal Remotes apply to him.

So you could use that to do things like, say, hack into security camera footage and broadcast that to yourself to operate at weird angles for fighting; be the top-look out guy, etc. It's just a suggestion, cause it seems cooler, at least to me, than just shooting lightning when you have a TV for a head.

Ooh, yeah. It could help out with his vandalism because he could check traffic light cameras to see how far police are from him.

Name: Besuro Hasashi & Hiei

Appearance:

Age: 17

Concept: Besouro is an interesting kind of guy. He's named after a legend of Brazil, a hero of Capoeira who defended his countrymen in the 19th century from oppressors. Besouro meaning "beetle", whom he is believed to be a descendant of. He is of Afro-brazilian heritage though spent most of his life in and around the prefectural mountains of Hokkaido, known for its hot springs, winter slopes and wilderness. He was taken in by a prominent ninja family and raised in the ways of ninjutsu. He was chosen specifically for his natural aptitude and temperament, which made him a good sparring partner and rival to the first born heir of the Hasashi clan. His personality is somewhat reserved and "ahead" for someone his age, having experienced some amount of loss and living on his own before being adopted by the Hasashi clan, prior to being taken in, he was a bit of a delinquent but showed remarkable wisdom beyond his years, with a little proper discipline and motivation he'd become the "ideal" ninja. Besuoro completed his ninja training at the age of 14, obtaining the rank of Jonin. In Tokyo, Besuoro would come in contact with the organized mafia, co-operating with and eventually joining with the Yakuza syndicate as a contract assassin-for-hire.

Charges: Assassination - Trespassing - Racketeering - Larceny - Arms Trafficking - Extortion - Smuggling - Piracy - Dog Fighting

Sentence: Life imprisonment (Pending)

Quirk: Adoptive Muscle Mimicry - The user can copy any/all movements/actions after seeing it performed once, including acrobatics, martial arts, and other physical stunts. With these skills they can become masters and incredible at what they do, by combining what several forms and movements in rhythmic motions instead of using the same thing over.

User can copy how a person aims, giving themselves incredible marksmanship; however, if they wanted to use certain weapons, they would have to watch a person fire that weapon in order to be able to copy it (such as how to fire a rifle, as opposed to how to fire a bow, or how to throw knives or darts).

Drawback: Besuoro's quirks comes with a drawback of onset temporary blindness in both eyes. To offset this limitation, Besuoro has trained his other senses to compensate. He is able to fight blindfolded if necessary, but he's not quite a Zatoichi or anything.

Skills: Acrobatics, Hand-to-hand, Swordsmanship, Marksmanship, Military tactics, Survival training.

Other: Specializes in Ninjutsu and Capoeira respectively. He's known to throw in a wrestling move or two, as he's a fan of Japanese Wrestling.

I like the idea, but the question is how can he feed himself? If he takes a bath, would he be discharged?

A plug into an electrical outlet to eat. They have a TV for a head. Well first off it'd be showers; and it'd be funny so clearly yes they discharge in the shower and have to get turned back on again. Unless they manage to put on all the shower-caps.
