Hippocleides doesn't care

Nick pouted a bit at the other's reactions, a bit discouraged "I was just putting it out there, there's no need to be so mean about it..." he mumbled, rubbing his arm before quickly regaining his composure and giving a quick glare to Micheal and Athena's bickering "Hey, Edward Cullen, Dreadlocks, joking around with someone is one thing, but actually fighting is not a good idea. Either make up or one of you isn't going back to the bunker, and it'll be my fault."

"That aside, I don't think that going to any shopping center is a good idea. Everyone's almost definitely had the same idea as us: that no one else is stupid enough to do it, so they went, and probably got killed instantly. Finding shelter should be our first priority, as always in survival situations. Food and water can come later, especially because we have rations." he said, before completely changing tone for the 7th time in the last 5 minutes

"Do you have any actually good music? Because what you're playing... does not count. At least put on some actual rock if you're gonna play music. Like RHCP or Pink Floyd. Now that, that's travel music."

So why should I?

Xavier's attention was adverted from the task at hand to what seemed to be pre-existing beef within the group. Athena and the other guy, Michael, seemed to have been involved at one point, speaking to each other like bitter exes would. He knew it was not his place to comment on whatever they had going on and since Nick had already seemed to address it, X contnued walking with the group, nodding as he went.

A small smile came to his face when another had commented on the condition of the surrounding buildings, but was proven wrong almost immediately by the collapsing of a doorway. Jake swooped in immediately to comment on how he found that funny, which X nodded in agreement, "I've gotta agree, death by doorway's gotta be the lamest way to go out." He kept his head up to pay atention to the group's surroundings since he seemed to be the most keen on the area. When the music was put on he smiled in the direction of it's source, "Hell yes. Travel music? It's a vibe, bro."

It hadn't been too long, but he could tell he wouldn't mind the groups company too much. He had been itching to escape the vault for the past year and when he was selected to be tossed out into the new world, he had to admit, he was worried. Not only about death, but about who would be watching his back. It seemed they had a stable group with people who were capable in a range of different ways. It was good their group had diversity, otherwise they just wouldn't be able to handle what the hell was out there.

He hummed along to the tune of the music being played.

Harriet Carter

Location: Finally outside/ Outfit

Harry continued walking with the group, chucking at Athena's bickering with Michael, who she had only noticed until now. It was evident they had some kind of history together. How they knew each other? Harry could only guess. Regardless, their banter was the only entertaining thing that could distract them from the dangerous task in hand. Especially after the dangerous state of the buildings was confirmed, worring Harry due to the fact the buildings were clearly not fit for shelter.

"Men, am I right?" Harry commented, genty nudging Athena as the group gathered in front of what used to be a store. "I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm not exactly eager to have my grave encripted with "crushed by a building while sleeping," so I say we start looking for shelter somewhere else. If all buildings are in this condition, we could always try and build our own shelter. I think I remember some things from girl scouts, but no promises," her statement was mostly a lie. While she had spent at least two months with the girl scouts, all she remembered learning was how to sell cookies. Still, maybe she had a bit of knowledge in her childhood memories.

She scoffed when Nick criticized Edward for the music he had chosen. "Every idiot thinks the music they like is the real music, the only one worth listening. Don't listen to him, Edward, at least you brought some music to share with the group," she remarked. Technically, blasting music was probably not a very good idea. Considering they could give their location away and be found by something or someone. Still, it had been a long time since she had been able to listen to some good music, and she didn't want to cut the moment short. If they were all killed, at least they would be killed with some good tunes. "Honestly, I would kill for some Queen right about now. I'll take anything with Mercury's face on it, no joke."

When Jake asked for her opinion, she simply shrugged and smiled. "Well, our chances of survival are quite low. We've got very limited supplies, no shelter, and only one gun with two rounds. The world and everything I loved was whiped out a month ago and now we're walking through the aftermath of the apocalipse. Civilization as we knew it is gone, and there are dangerous animals and humans everywhere," she said, before taking a glance at the rest of the group. "But at least the group isn't as bad as I thought it would be. We might be fucked, but at least we're fucked together."

Just another day in the waste land

c l i c k
Sarah was quiet because she was forced on the task at hand and she was kinda missing her brother, even though he is an asshole, that asshole is her brother. She hasn't been apart from the dude since day one of this hell whole that happened in here in the big apple. As the group was having conversation she was over hearing what they were all saying even when Jake made his joke, she rolled her eyes at it and says "If you dying laughing like that then you better make sure karma don't hit you back with that".

Still walking around with everyone she heard Micheal suggesting to put music on, which was a bad idea but, at the same time can be very needed. As Nick was suggesting music she cracked up a little bit at Harry's comment which was very true, idiots do think they listen to is good music. She heard Harry's suggesting and hell she wasn't wrong, now that's what you call a true new yorker.

After hearing Harry's speech about survival she couldn't agree more, we did only have a supply that can last less than a month and that's why we were out here trying to help these people back a the bunker so they can eat and live for a couple more. Her home place was ruined by the bombs after they dropped she hasn't been in Brooklyn since because she could face how bad it would look. She just knew they need to find shelter as soon as possible but, she didn't mind taking her time with the group to get the supply that was needed. Because hell the group was cool and she was not in the rush to get locked up back in that bunker

Athena Ann Carter
Day 1 - 11:00 AM
Athena began walking forward, looking back at Nick for only a moment with a "Stay out of my business and worry about yourself" glare. She wasn't normally this easy to upset, but the knowledge of danger possibly being so close was an ever-growing fear. For a moment Athena was lost in her thoughts. At least she was until she was pulled away from them by Harriet who she gave a slight smile toward though not any words at the moment. As they continued to walk, Athena found herself only taking short glances at the buildings that they passed, looking for danger in everyone window and building they passed. She only stopped when she heard a crash from behind her. Turning quickly she saw Edward moving away from the rubble of a now more collapsed building. She rolled her eyes as she turned away from the situation, more concerned on the task at hand. She continued to walk, though slow to not make it seem as if she was in a rush to get anywhere.

"We need to travel to find shelter so we might as well look for food and clean water while we're at it, Nick." She spoke sternly as she replied not ever turning to look back at the boy. When Edward began playing music she paused, listening as some of them commented about the new noise. It was a pleasant sound to have music, but something didn't seem right about it.

"That music may get us killed," Athena muttered, more to herself then the group as a whole. She wasn't sure if they heard her, but she honestly didn't care as she looked down the street toward a small group of buildings. Some that seemed to stand out more than the ones around them. They were all shorter buildings, ones that looked dwarfed next to the towers around them, but they looked to be in decent shape compared to the others they had seen walking over here.

As the group continued forward Athena turned her head as she spoke to the group. "How about that red building up ahead?" She raised an eyebrow as she pointed toward a rustic brick building ahead. Its windows were broken out and the double doors mostly torn off its hinges, but it looked empty and generally safe. It was clearly once a small diner of some sort and their chances were that it was probably already raided for food and supplies, but it looked to be holding up. "It looks decently sturdy."

Edward Kapel

Ed rubbed the back of his head in an embarrassed manner as he heard the comments from the other members of the group, and tried his best to suppress any suggestion of embarrassment. After hearing Jake and Xavier's comments, he responded jokingly, "Well, at least if I had died I would've given you all a story so ridiculous nobody would believe it." Edward walked at a relaxed pace, allowing himself to enjoy the music for a moment as the others discussed it. This scene was short-lived due to Nick's comment about his taste in music. Instead of immediately replying to him, he spoke up to Jake again. "Thanks, but you're a bit out of luck, I don't have either. All I've got right now is this miscellaneous tape and a John Denver one I just scored," he said, allowing his voice to trail slightly as he turned to face Nick and spoke in a stern tone, "However, if anyone finds any tapes that suits their personal tastes, they're more than welcome to use the walkman to play them."

Edward jogged momentarily to catch up with Athena, and upon doing so could make out her mumbled comment. "Typically, I would agree with you. But seeing as how everyone is talking at the same volume at which the music is playing, we're equally as likely to be killed by simple conversation." Ed took note of the building Athena had pointed out, noticing the contrast between the sturdy brick of this building and the weak nature one that had just collapsed behind him. "As long as it doesn't cave in on me while I sleep and keeps the rain out, then it's fine by me. I doubt we'll find much in there though since it's likely been picked clean. Anyways, lead on, Captain" he said, gesturing to Athena as he walked towards the building.

As he walked, Edward enjoyed taking in the odd scenery around him. It was surreal to think of how quickly nature had reclaimed the city, even in the wake of multiple nuclear bombs. The streaking sunlight crept down through the spaces in between the buildings, illuminating the dilapidated infrastructure before them. Grass grew up from cracks in the streets, and the buildings themselves hosted an entire assortment of vines and other plant life, all of which was competing for sunlight and the other resources necessary to survive. Since everyone in this group had been reduced to the same struggle for survival, Ed could only hope that they could manage to scrape by.

Helena, having barley missed the mark on going out with the rest of her assigned group, was feeling flustered. She couldn't sleep at night, knowing what had happened to her father could eventually happen to her. She tried her best to suppress the negative thoughts, an make slight jokes with them inside her head. She felt as if she was going to be forgotten out there, be a deemed outcast from the get-go since she showed up so late, a nobody, yet, couldn't complain too much. She didn't do anything to make herself known, so could she blame them? Nah. Hell, she couldn't even whine when nobody would show up to her funeral, or recall that she had died out while with them.
'Did you hear about Femmes?' 'No?' 'Yeah me neither.' She brainstormed, chuckling gently to herself. Once out of the subway, she got situated and calmed down, walking with a much more menacing demeanor. She saw the large group of people up ahead, estimating about 10 or so. She wasn't really paying attention to who left, why, what happened after that the clamor, just knew she was supposed to be hanging around them. Sure, she'd keep watch on them, help them out if they got into a tight spot and seemed to be losing, but other than that, as far as she was concerned, her exploration was solo.

Trailing behind a group of people got lame, especially when she's held a 4 second conversation with maybe one or two with them in the past. Maybe looked at one the wrong way, or heard about something to do with one of them. She watched them up ahead, having only found them due to one of them playing music carelessly. 'Edward, was it? Sounds close. Aaron...Michael...George?' She continued to think as she went along, hearing bits and pieces of the group's chatter-some conversation. Seeing strewn strips of buildings in her peripheral, she decided to check them out.

She strode forwards, keeping a tight grip on the bow in her left hand. She notched an arrow between her index finger and her middle finger, pulling it back slightly in a fixed position. Her arrows were sticking out from her back pockets, and her machete was hanging from a gap in between her belt and her abdomen. She stopped at the door's of the first building, peering inside it. Looking around inside reminded her of a restaurant or something, just one that's seen better days.

She made out a door in a far back when she moved her eyes around, one that could possibly lead to a kitchen? Hopefully it wasn't all picked through. She wasn't starving, but extra supplies wouldn't hurt, especially if she found someone else in need of them. With this, she pressed her shoulder to the front door and raised her bow.

X had been keeping his silence for the majority of the walk, probably because he found it liberating to walk freely through his new surroundings. Though the group was in a survival situation he could feel no other feeling but relaxation, for the time being at least. As he hummed along to the music, he continued to study the deteriorating buildings around them. His eyes followed the rugged tops of the decaying architecture that once graced the sky for miles before the bombs had fallen. He could admit that the scenery's fall from grace was depressing, but it still didn't bother him too much either. Maybe being away from his old man really was the only thing he cared about.

He tuned back into the group's chatter, noticing he was now walking beside Athena and Ed who had a brief exchange. He smiled at Athena and then at Ed, who both had solid points. The group wasn't hiding their presence well at all. In fact, if anyone wanted to hunt them down from the time they left the bunker, they could've begun picking them off from the moment of their departure. It had just occurred to him that he wasn't being very cautious, while Athena seemed to had been on edge the entire time they had been outside the bunker. He admitted he should have known to have carried himself with the same level of awareness, but he had neglected to care from the start.

His eyes followed Athena's finger as she pointed to the building that she mentioned. He eyed it, nodding, "I'm thinking we scope it out, at least if we secure it from now we can check shelter off of the list." He smiled at Ed and nodded "I wouldn't count on it being filled with any supplies either. Diner's probably the first place people would check if they were scrounging for supplies." He turned his eyes forward to the first building they set their sights on and continued on. They didn't know who they could run into now.

Edward Kapel

Edward was quickly closing in on the entrance to the brick building. He pushed in one of the buttons on the walkman, causing the noise emanating from it to cease, leaving behind only the sound of quiet conversation and the footsteps of the group in its wake. Ed reached the door ahead of everyone else and waited for the rest of the group to catch up. The outside walls of the building were coarse brick, and although crumbling in a few places, surprisingly sturdy. The door Ed stood outside of didn't look to be much more than a sheet of plywood with a doorknob and lock as the paint that once coated it had worn away long ago. He looked in through some of the windows on the first floor, looking for any signs that might warn them not to enter the building, but found none. Sliding his knife out from its sheath, he returned back to the entrance with the rest of the group, which had just arrived.
Ed twisted the handle on the door and pushed, hoping that it would swing open, but was quickly disappointed when the door resisted. "It might need a bit of convincing," he said to the group at large as he kicked in the door, causing it to snap near the lock and swing open. A cluster of birds took flight in the hallway and raced out of the newly opened door, forcing Ed to duck out of the way. "Say hello to our new home, possibly" he muttered as he walked inside the decrepit building. The interior wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't five star living accommodations. Dust and fallen objects littered the halls from years worth of neglect.
Ed walked to the room he had looked into from the outside. Light naturally shone into it, revealing the hidden dust particles that floated gently through the air. Something else stood out to him, however. On the table in a corner of the room, he found a box of matches with a thick film of dust on it. This told him one thing immediately: that this building may not have been picked clean. Potentially, by some miracle, it may not have been looted at all yet. Ed and the rest of the group that noticed would have to wait until further examination to know for sure. He silently pocketed the small box, and announced to Xavier and Athena "It's cozy enough for me, how about you guys? I think we should take a thorough look around this building to see what it has to offer."

Hippocleides doesn't care

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. His music still sucks." he defended, before putting his hands up at Athena's glare "Oh wow, Ms Hippy is getting an attitude. If I'm not careful, she might make me eat tofu or something. Oh, even worse, what if she lectures me on my carbon footprint?" he joked, noticing the brick building ahead "Ah, damn, that looks pretty good..."

Nick was surprised to have his request for shelter to be fulfilled so quickly, walking inside, his eyes slowly sweeping the room "Y'know... I think I remember this place..." he muttered, moving his finger in various directions, tracing their path so far. "Yeah, this is that diner Midas and I hung out at sometimes. And if it's a diner, it has a kitchen! There we go, there's your food. If it hasn't been looted already, of course, which... yeah, it probably has been. Doesn't hurt to check though, does it?"

So why should I?

Helena let the door close behind her as she walked in. Without an actual light source, the building was dark and filled with shadows. Nonetheless, she walked through the room, heading towards what she thought would be a kitchen, in the far back. She kept the bow raised and her footsteps quiet as she walked through the kitchen's front door. Trying to seem as intimidating as she could, she didn't call out, or make the dumb decision of asking who's there? She just kept silent, footsteps now heavy as she made her presence known. She searched the kitchen thoroughly, half waiting for a ghoul or a rat to make it's appearance. She followed her gut, trusting that she wasn't alone in this kitchen space.

She kept the intimidation factor up as she spoke. She backed herself into a wall, to make sure nobody would come up behind her. "If someone's in here, which I've got a pretty good gut feeling they are," her grip on the bow and arrow between her knuckles got tighter, turning them white. "I want you to rise up, nice and slow. Get in front of me. If you aren't a complete dick, I won't shoot an arrow into your forehead." She cackled, a small smirk forming beneath her cloth mask. "Hell, maybe you'll be my right-hand man." She said this, peering around as she did.
