Hello there everyone!

We all know that life is full of embarrassing moments, many of which he wish we would forget. Of course, why wouldn't there be awkward moments in roleplays as well?

So please, what is everyone's most awkward moment in a roleplay? Either between characters, or between the two roleplayers!

When someone took something totally not sexual sexually and then we were both confused because I kind of shrugged and went along with it but they got nervous and backed out and it was a mess

my friend made a furry rape cult in a rp as a one of the main villains and it was just there but than they converted one of the main side characters and than it turned into a tail of death, converting like 3 people, back stabbings and now possible pin ponging of 2 people and a resurrection of 2 characters into 1 person.

This probably happens most often when i'm RPing from my phone..You all know how phones can be..My phone decided to autocorrect.

Thus when I told my friend OOC instead of being "Gimme a sec." it said "Gimme a sex.."

I hate autocorrect.

I'm a person of principles. I believe that if you believe in something, then you gotta act in respect to that, nomatter what the context. If I believe the door is to my right, when I wanna leave I go right. If I believe someone made a mistake, I'll try to point it out to hopefully help them (or myself) view things better. Of course, as I mature I learn how to better manage the various aspects of my life with my various beliefs.

Put that in reverse and I've done some really cringy stuff in respects to my beliefs. When I was a roleplay noob, playing on another site, I remember my first few characters were actually somewhat decent in terms of character construction, but my goals with them and how I wanted to achieve those were so cringy. I'll leave aside the prophet with visions of the future and talk instead about the fact I built a character solely to preach.

Yuppers. At the time, I thought that people would tolerate me talking about religion provided it was done in character. Even if that character happened to be nonstop preaching in a setting that had 0 to do with religion in any way.

I can't say just one moment is the awkward of all awkward moments, there have been numerous in my years of roleplaying but I have one. Let me see, how about telling my partner although Sierra is a beautiful name it is not the name of my character(Tierney) having them apologize saying that two names are similar (yup, similar...) only for them to continue calling my character Sierra. I mentioned it again where they asked if I could change it, the name I had was too hard to remember.....
I don't like to bother people, it just feels uncomfortable because there are times when people flip out over the smallest of things.

I don’t know if most would consider this as awkward and not more of like, a bombshell being dropped... But I had this little mini realm called a hell hole where demons of earth lived and did nefarious things safe from those that would hunt them because they’re in a pocket in a not quite active volcano at the bottom of the Atlantic, undiscovered by humans. Nothing surprising right? There’s a huge history and a lot of detail I wont go into, but in one of many (this happened in like our twentieth?) rps I’ve done with a friend in that realm... A character of mine finally let slip a huge clue on the name of the once-upon a time island...

There was a bit of an awkward silence and the rp halted before my partner blew up on me in shock, shouting about the fact that all this time, all the YEARS we’ve roleplayed together, we’ve been doing roleplays in the heart of Atlantis and I never told her. XD I still crack up at it.

Ah, the best one for me?

When I made a post somewhere...only to be informed OOCly 'You died last post, you know'

Me: "Hol' up. What? What? You- What?"

I think the most awkward was when I was in with a group of friends and I don't know how this happened, but one or two of my friends treated the RP like it was reality and got really mad at each other over something their characters did (even though this is all pretend?) and it went from a fun time to a whole picking sides ordeal and it was very dumb and ruined everything.

Also, it is weird when people develop crushes on you as if you are the character and make everyone else uncomfortable.

I have two that I would like to share, and I laugh at them today but it was awkward as hell back then.

I was role playing with someone a long time ago- I think it was the year I first got into role playing. Our characters were in a house that was surrounded by zombies, in which it was properly blocked out so nothing can get in nor can anything get out. Anyways, my character that I was using was being a jerk to my partner's character, in which they had decided to get up and run after my character. So, of course, I made my character run out the door to the room my partner's character was in. Right when they got out of the door, I had them turn around and blow a raspberry at the guy before slamming the door on them. My partner replied with them dodging the 'raspberry' and then running into the door. After I read that post, I remember staring at my computer for a long while, trying to figure out who the hell threw a raspberry in the house. When I realized (after 15-20 minutes of confusion) that they might of gotton confused, I asked them 'Hey, I didn't actually throw a raspberry at you. It was a sound my character made'. Let's just say, after I posted that- they stopped talking to me. I think I might of accidently embarrassed them, but I was so confused at the time.

Another one was with my friend. We were role playing Five Nights at Freddy's during school, and we had RP books that we wrote in. Of course, many people in our school knew about it but most of them never questioned us. Our teachers didn't mind (we are good students, so they kind of let us do what we like as long as we remain keeping good grades), so we were role playing back and forth with these note books during and outside of class. Well, after awhile, we kind of began writing on the front of the books as well like 'William's book' and then it was scribbled out and said 'Who gives a (beep). It's anyone's book ~Mike' and then that got a line and it said 'Why can't everyone just get along! ~Michael'. So, naturally, people really took notice of it. With all the bright colors on the front, who couldn't. Anyways, I was in my math class and was responding to my friend's response. A popular guy in my school sits next to me, and he leans over and whispers 'Hey, whose William?'

I did get a little nervous since I don't know him real well, but did keep my cool and said 'Ah, no one of your concern'. Well, that didn't satisfy him.

"Can I read the book?" At this point, I shut the book and looked at him.

I gave him a solid 'No, I'm sorry but you can't'. He asks me why, and in my mind, I thought he wasn't going to stop bothering me, so I decided to tell him.

"If you don't want to read about a man murdering children because they ticked him off to no end, and him beating his son because he has no one else to beat on when he is stressed out, but then also raping one of his co workers because he was showing his authority over the other person, all of this in vivid detail, then this book here is not for you." So, to put it short, I scared the hell out of a man and ended up having to sit next to him awkwardly for the rest of the year. It was not a good year on my end, haha.

Around a year ago on a different site, I was in a sci-fi nation 1x1, and my partner and I were discussing technical specifications of the technology of our respective nations. In this case, we were talking about ships and their specifications. It went on as usual, us discussing the estimated explosive impact of a magnetically-accelerated Gauss projectile travelling at 3.1% the speed of light and blah blah blah. Eventually, we started talking about length and size of the vessels in question and how well they would fare when pitted against each other, how sturdy and well-built they are. The conversation went on for quite a while until we realised that it was starting to look like we were comparing dick sizes and how huge and effective a perfect penile pedigree would be.

Needless to say, we decided to forgo the conversation and start talking about muscular men in power armour instead.

I think the most awkward is when there is a misunderstanding in sexual terms. When something was said/done that was not meant to be sexual but your partner believed it was. The worst feeling is to say it was or was not, haha. It's all around a awkward situation, especially if you don't know each other personally such as on these sites.

My friend wanted our characters to be romantically involved. No problem with that.

It was so incredibly uncomfortable when she started making her character act like herself instead of a separate entity. I still kept my male character true to his personality, but I felt so damn awkward because it was like I was participating in some sick fantasy. With her character being a direct self-insert, it was like trying to flirt with someone I knew personally. I struggled to keep the logical boundary that these were not us but fictional characters. I laugh about it now, but I felt violated at the time.

It probably wouldn't have been a problem if I didn't know her IRL. When it's a stranger, you don't know if it's a self-insert or it's their character.

Most of the partners with who i did this kind of RPs in the past, that was actually self-insert, most of the time, the person played herself instead of a probable character, that was completely out of context, i had to remind the person kindly that is this purely fictionnal, and any feelings of the character isn't mine either.

Needless to say, assuming a relationship is the most awkward thing in a RP.

So I am new to this site and new to RP period, I did one before coming here and it was the most awkward thing ever. The person I was trying to RP with thought I was a girl and wanted me to role play as their mother, who constantly gave him wedgies. Apparently that is what a 'Slice of life' RP was to them. This really creeped me the fuck out and caused me to never ever try role playing online again until recently.

Personnally, i would be creeped as well if someone asked that, oh wait,
some people asked me to do a RP as their "lover", the worst part was that they acted like that OOC, it's scary when people don't know their limits.

That is scary. Sounds like they inserted themselves in their character.
