Anime & Manga What is your Favorite Anime?

Tsukiyomi

Adorable Kitsune Goddess
My most favorite animes include Seraph of the End, Diabolik Lovers, Dance with Devils, and Vampire Knight. What about everyone else?

My absolute favorite anime is re:creators . it's the most fascinating anime i've ever seen, and one of the most if not THE most well-written one. On top of that it has great action, mind-blowing soundtrack and animation, and the way it uses meta is just jaw-dropping.

For a more detailed dive into my favorite anime (top 20), here:
Discussion - Favorite Anime?

Mine are Blue Exorcist, Fate Zero, Yona of the Dawn, Attack on Titan, and Clannad

While I'm a big fan of some of the others people mentioned, my top three are Digimon, Fairy Tail, and Pandora Hearts. They will always hold a special place in this overwhelmingly big heart of mine.

My favourites are Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Zetsuen no Tempest. I also really like Rokka no Yuusha, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Plastic Memories.

My current top 3 are Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (all parts animated so far), and the Lupin the 3rd franchise. Numbers 2 and 3 can and will change quite a bit, for example I'm watching a ton of Lupin lately which makes it fresher in my mind, but I'm pretty sure Giant Robo will be my all time fave for a very long time.

Listing a top 20 is possible but difficult for the same reason, especially because there's a lot of anime on my backlog that I'm confident would make it onto such a list.

How can one possibly choose??
I... uh... I guess I'll go with Princess Tutu, my first anime. Just because of the nostalgia and without it I wouldn't have found all these other great anime.

Naruto: because that's what got me into anime. It will always hold a special place in my heart, no many how many annoyng flash-backs Shippuden has.

Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. Admittedly, it's not a good anime. It's your pretty average shounen, however it has a pretty repetitive story structure, and with the exception of about 4-5 (out of at least 20) characters all of them act the same way, and have no factors that differentiate them from one another. (ie. The story revolves around a group of dogs, who behave similarly to samurai, growing an army to defeat a bear. The story is just, MC and friends meets new toughest, most badass dog of their region, they fight, the new dog is overcome and finds their cause a good one, dog joins, dog then becomes background fodder for the rest of the series.)

The only arc that is actually different from the others is the last arc which the creator himself hated, and has dubbed as non-canon, this arc also doesn't appear in the anime, and for the longest time was only readable to Japanese and Finnish fans. While it has (within the last two years) been fan translated, it's clear that it's still shoved under the table because of the "non-canon" part, and the fact that unless you really looked for it, you'd have a hard time finding those translations.

Also yeah, it's pretty bad. The animation is sub par, even if I'm judging it against other 80s animes (it came out in the 80s), and the music and voice acting is okay at best.

However, with all that being said, I still love it. Maybe because it's the first shounen I ever watched (I compare my feelings to it to how a lot of anime fans feel about things like Dragonball, Naruto, or Sailor Moon). So it's partly due to nostalgia, but also partly due to the fact that I still enjoy it on a subjective level. So while it's not good, and I'd never recommend it to anyone. I love it.

I haven't seen this show but I gotta say I really appreciate the passion you feel for it. :bishiesparklesl:

My favorite of all time is Tenchi Muyo, but I've also enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass, and the Dragon Ball franchise. I've watched a lot of other anime, but those are the top of the list for me.
