Help Computer Restart, Hours of Work Gone

Croaker

Little Horned Boy
I was editing a thread I had created, adding a bunch of info for an interest check. It was a decent chunk of writing, not huge or anything, but it was a collection of thoughts and ideas that I've been straining over and putting my ideas into words in this particular case was no easy task.
I do this thing were I periodically select all and copy what I've written, just in case I accidentally close my tab or do something else terribly stupid. That way I can copy paste and not have to start all over again if(when) I screw up. Of course, this precaution doesn't help when your mac book randomly restarts.
So yeah, long story short, several hours of work gone. Pretty frustrating stuff.
I know that drafts are saved at pretty constant intervals, but when I go to edit the thread, none of my work is there. Am I just boned? SOL? Anything I can do (besides using exclusively Word from now on to save me from serious headaches)?

I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you :(.

I believe the draft feature only works when starting a new thread, or post. Not editing one. It is always best practice to use Google Docs, Word or some other form of document retention as this kind of situation can happen.

Lol, yeah. I figured as much. I'm sure this is a pretty common thing that happens, but man-oh-man do I feel like murder.
Hopefully I've learned my lesson.
I appreciate the reply.

No problem. Hopefully, you'll be able to rebuild your post when you get a chance!
