You've read the stories of people meeting their "true love", the ones they would live with "happily ever after". Your parents explained to you when you were younger that true love was real. Indeed, soulmates do exist, but rarely is there a happily ever after.

The year is 2018 and you are in college. For the most part, you've given up on the idea of soulmates. Maybe you've given up the idea of love completely. Divorce rates are rising and so are the number of affairs in this world where lonely people are desperate to find their soulmates. People will break the trust of those they were closest to just to find their destined lovers. Researchers estimate that up to 70% of adults will never meet their soulmates, adding into the hysteria. Some self-proclaimed conspiracy theorists say the entire idea of "true love" is a hoax created by the government to cause the hysteria. At this point, you really couldn't care less.

But what if there was something to change that? The Redamancy Program is an up-and-coming matchmaking program that aides people in the search for their own true love. The program was first established in the 70's and it was designed by Graham Rutherford, a young psychologist from Scotland who had a deep love for Latin words. Rutherford was eager to help his associates find their own matches and thus, the program was born. Young adults from the ages of 18 - 24 will go through a long psychiatric evaluation and they will be matched with the person most likely to be their true soulmate. The program lasts 8 weeks, from the last week of May to the third week of July.

However, there are several challenges for these young people. They will not be immediately paired with their potential soulmate. Instead, they will be paired with other adults who are in the same program. It will be hard to tell who is your soulmate and who is not and you may fall in love with someone who is not your soulmate. There is no telling until the end of the 8 weeks.

Yeah right. You decide to give it a shot just for the hell of it. The school year was ending and you had really nothing better to do. The town is mostly full of middle-class to upper-class people. However, many people from outside of town attend the town's main college, the University of Northridge Falls. They are able to get in through scholarships mostly and even they can participate in the Redamancy Program.

The participants will stay at a beachfront mansion located in Laguna Beach, California, and will be able to do what they want during the time of the program. However, they will be assigned a specific person to "bond" with during the time and at the end of the week, it will be revealed whether they are truly soulmates.

And now the rules:

- First off, be respectful and polite. In-character drama is encouraged, but out-of-character drama will NOT be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone, please let me know and I'll handle it.

- No Mary Sues or god-modding.

- Obey the site rules! If things get too heated, fade to black.

- For this RP, I will be accepting 8 characters (though I am willing to accept up to 12 if this gains a lot of interest). Genders should be equal and if they aren't, I may have to ask people to double.

- apolla apolla is my co-GM, so you can go to either her or me for any questions or concerns. can i get a tag when this goes up? or a link to the pages if it’s already up? I’m on mobile so the code is hard to navigate but i managed to read the plot with some savvy copy pasting.

sure! apologies for the lack of mobile-friendliness, but yes, i'll tag you when once the pages are up. (:

Is there a limit as to how many you're accepting because I'm loving this idea ^^

lavendre lavendre Can I draw a picture for my character's appearance? I want to draw a digital painting and my style is pretty semi-realistic.
i would prefer to use realistic face-claims for the RP, if you don't mind. however, if your painting is very close to realistic, i don't think i'll have to ask you to change it. ^^

The link to the cs redirects me to google
oops, sorry i didn't warn you guys earlier! the links will direct you to google for now, since i don't have the threads up yet. however, i'm finalizing the lore and cs threads right now and they should be up very soon! ^^
