official clown business
Okay so our name is Piss and we are the Mafioso
Hello, friends! Today, I'd like to present you with a cast of four characters that have spent the past five years of their lives travelling throughout the fantasy setting I've created. While you may think of them as something more, for me I merely see them as four close friends on the holiday of a lifetime, travelling from place to place simply to gaze at the many sights of the world, as they slowly but surely chronicle their voyage throughout the continent. From now on, whenever I answer each of those fun status questions, I'll refer to the characters by name.
As always, I'm eager to hear any of the feedback or thoughts you have on the characters and race lore I've come up with!
If you ever want to know more about any of these characters or races, feel free to ask any kind of question you like! I'm always down to expand the lore on my characters, these races, and the world itself. Thanks for checking these guys out!

HumanAn easily recognized, but highly adaptable race known for their civilizations. In a world such as this, humanity will certainly not be found in any small quantity, with their settlements, kingdoms, and organizations spanning the vast majority of the regions in the continent. While human nature is well known to the readers and requires no explanation, humans have an unusual affinity to adaptation not seen in other races.
Humans must pick one of up to four available 'subraces' to have as part of their character, gaining unique abilities as a result of their birthplace.
Nomad
The most common race of humans, nomads are often found within the safety of their own civilizations, and are abundant in the southern regions where magic and harsh conditions are far less prevalent than further north. Nomads make up for their lack of racial abilities with the pride they have in their stuff.
Sprylet
One of the two human races that can be found up north, sprylet are generally born to magically experienced parents or places that are rife with magic. It's easy to tell a sprylet from another human by their often vibrant eye colors and their affinity towards learning spells and magical feats of all kinds.
Vherid
A highly rugged northern race, vherid are only born in places where environmental adversity is known to thrive. Their rough and resilient skin allows them to be quite resistant to sicknesses, magical afflictions, and the kind of harsh weather that would make a normal person reluctant to proceed any further.
Ilfern
Humans that begin their life below the surface of the world are ilfern, who are well suited to the dark and eerie environments below. Aside from the decidedly inhuman stamina they possess, ilfern have often been noted to have eyes which glow dimly, especially in total darkness.
KoboldAdventurous, ever curious, and bold - traits that speak true to their name.
Known for their rocky fur, fangs, roughly 4 foot stature, and eighty-year lifespan, the bold race belongs to the voyagers and explorers who make their home in many of the mountains and desert regions throughout the world. Kobolds are known for their unusually good (and sometimes unusually bad) luck as well as their abilities in close combat, both of which are certainly quite fitting for a life in the wide world.
Nochse
Kobolds born under the world are known to go through an unusual change that results in them being tougher and far more difficult to physically buckle. With fur as tough as metal or obsidian, nochse (who are generally still referred to as kobolds) have natural armor that appears to be far stronger than the kind made conventionally.
DrakirTaller, wiser, and longer lived - much to the chagrin of the other races.
This uncommon race of dragon-or-lizard-like individuals can be found almost anywhere they want to be found. Towering over the other races with a height of between 6 and 9 feet, drakir can appear quite imposing when first met, but most are virtuous and intelligent fellows who are just as comfortable with a sedate lifestyle as they are with a thrilling one. With a lifespan of around two-hundred years, the average drakir will have quite a bit to say about the world around them when you come across one.
Anfirn
Like the other two races, drakir are known to adapt in an interesting fashion when born below the surface. If the second pair of horns jutting from their forehead doesn't convince a person of the anfirn's presence, they'll still take note of their inordinate fitness and ability to endure tasks that would tire out an ordinary person quickly.
AerokAn elusive race of winged creatures from the farthest northern reaches.
The rarest of the four races in the world, little is known about the aerokot. The rare few that have had the fortune to become acquainted with this race know of their short, forty-year lives, their sharp talons, and the extra pair of feathered limbs that can keep them airborne at all times. Despite these features, they seem to be a mostly peaceful race that prefers to live out their lives far from the rest of the known world.
DragonTheir appetite for worldly knowledge and the arcane arts is almost insatiable. With a height that can surpass a man over threefold and a life expectancy that stretches just over a millennium, it is no surprise the ancient and majestic appearance of a dragon is often regarded with as much reverence as they are in the stories often read at a young age. In addition to these traits, dragons also possess a proportional amount of strength and a natural penchant for the art of spellcasting, casting all non-physical abilities from their mouth.
Those who are well aware of the nature of dragons understand their common desire to avoid any direct influence in the affairs of the smaller races, despite the wealth of lore and history they've amassed over centuries.
Interestingly, each dragon is born with a single, unique mark placed around one of their eyes. While this fact seems to bear no significance to those who make their home in Chorral, it is said that each marking is an incredibly important aspect among the many dragons that live in the far northwestern lands, though the place is regarded as hostile and as such has been not been ventured into by even the foolhardiest of outsiders yet.
GryphonOnly the swiftest of beings can hope to match the pace set by these creatures.Known for their impressive plumage, nimble movements, and sometimes even full mastery over the wind itself, gryphons are a split-second sight to behold as they part the clouds with their pristine wingspan. Each one appears as a bird of prey frontwise and a predatory felid towards the rear, and most are capable of standing over twice as tall as an average person, though they won't live to be much older than one.
The sky is the preferred domain for any gryphon, providing a natural open environment where they can hunt, sleep, and race across the vast world - all with unfathomable ease. If one ever does decide to settle on the surface, however, their mobility and curiosity still provide ample opportunities to sate the unbounded freedom they possess.
Gryphons tend to be nomadic in nature, but those that prefer familiar sights often make their home in the undisturbed mountainous region of Caetrifs. Some of these creatures also live a peaceful life among the dragons and riders who reside in Chorral.
David Arisivh
Age 28
Race Nomad (human subrace)
Label A man of material value.
Affiliation Those he's known the longest - namely, Corilyn, Anor, and Cenephar.
Apparel David stands at 5'10" and is recognizable by his moderate skin, his blue eyes (sparked with reason), and his short brown hair, which is coiffed for occasion.
David's preference for simple outfits leaves him in a perfectly tailored green tunic with short sleeves and black accents, fitted grey pants, and some "nice shoes" black shoes for a typical day in his life. Nothing special, perhaps, but he's not a man who would go out of his way to stand out on a normal day.
Summary Born and raised in the simple but prosperous town of Vesapin, David lived comfortably with the help of the vast sums his father had left to him, and would've continued to do so had he not gotten to know Corilyn, who at the time was responsible for the enrichment of the town's literature. In an attempt to convince her that the tales of wild fantasy and the supernatural told in the stories weren't necessary to experience the world in all its glory, the two ventured out to visit the rest of the continent. In the six years since he left, David had eventually realized how false such a statement really was, but he had to admit life up north, with Corey and all the others, was quite enjoyable.
As a man whose personality is wedged beneath level-headed thinking and a reasonable demeanor, David refuses to let the oddities of the mystical world interfere with his indulgent lifestyle. Among friends, he tends to take charge and speak frankly, and he regards new faces with a respectable level of caution.
David is incapable of using any kind of supernatural abilities whatsoever. However, any kind of supernatural abilities that are used against him are effectively nullified - whether it's spells, enchantments, dragon fire, or something else, it doesn't work. There is a lot of questionable logic that arises as a result of this, but the results of most tend to gravitate towards the benefit of David. He seems to be perfectly fine with the fact that the mysteries of magic and dreams are basically closed to him.
David is good at a variety of card and board games, but he is most notably a skilled chess hustler.
Corilyn
Age 22
Race Sprylet (human subrace)
Hobbies Writing, drawing, magic, and people
Rapports The Riders, Dreamers, and everyone she is on friendly terms with
Appearance At the forefront of her fair skin and auburn shoulder-length ponytail, Corey has a rather young and cheerful face to complement her disposition, and her purple eyes always seem to be gazing skyward.
While Corey has a variety of robes and such on her, she tends to dress light with a simple black shirt, black pants, featherlight riding boots (brown and accented with gryphon feathers), and a tasseled rancher vest (also known as a 'chimera vest' by Riders). She seems to be wearing string on her wrists, part of which has tied a purple dragon scale to the back of each of her hands.
Recollections While Corilyn's childhood is shrouded in mystery, she at least remembers where her journey began: alongside her childhood friend David, in a town that knew little of the outside world. Originally, Corey wanted her friend to discover and appreciate the wonders that awaited them in the world, and while it was originally a short trip that was agreed on, the trip eventually spiralled into a five-year voyage around the entirety of the continent - and it's still going on, right now.
At some point, Corilyn made her way to the isolated region of Chorral, home to a small, but prominent community of dreamweavers and trained riders of dragons and gryphons. It was there that the latent spellcasting abilities within her were honed and refined to the prodigious levels they were meant to be. Today, when Corey isn't busy travelling the continent with her three friends, she can either be found in the Dreamworld at night or in her personal study, where she is often seen chronicling her experiences, sketching various things, or simply hanging out with some of her friends.
Corilyn is a sorcerer and dreamweaver of impressive skill, known for her incredible speed at spellcasting. Her most notable ability is one in which she can obtain the use of various spells, enchantments, and other abilities by simply wearing certain clothing or holding certain things. Without any of that, though, she is merely an arcane specialist.
Another quirk of note is Corey's disposition towards any person, creature, or beast intelligent enough to speak back. She is a good wholesome person who doesn't necessarily take in any major differences such as race, size, or perceived danger (unless it is very hostile). Corey also seems to be omnilingual, capable of reading, understanding, and sometimes even speaking languages she has never seen or heard of before.
Cenephar
Age 114
Race Drakir
Class Warrior
Affiliations His friends, his race, and the few organizations he allies himself with
Appearance Cenephar's stance can sometimes be quite imposing - at just over 9 feet tall, he is taller than average for his race. The warrior is easily recognizable by his dark green, black-chested scales and rugged gray horns jutting straight from the back of his head. Remember the eyes - oval, lizard-like, black and surrounded by a tinge of green - as they speak for his indomitable spirit.
As the only battle-hardened member of the four, Cenephar is prepared for anything, and has equipped himself accordingly. His armor is simple, but practical: a mixture of titanium plating and tanned scales from a red dragon have formed a full layer of durable protection that has proved highly resistant to a multitude of physical and magical attacks.
Story Formerly a venerable warrior who trained under a rigorous and strict mantra, Cenephar was exiled from the elite caste and eventually made peace with his fate among his newfound friends.
All his life, the drakir aspired only to be among the best among the small fighter clan, just as his parents had trained and nurtured him to be. To live the life of a warrior - to die young, but full of pride from all past accomplishments - this was to be Cenephar's path in life... though it didn't stay that way for long. Deep inside, he was curious about the realms beyond those of his forested birthplace. Eventually, he came across two spirited voyagers (and soon met the third, who watched from above the clouds) who inadvertently sparked his interest in the world. After his caste found out and had him forcefully exiled, the warrior found himself tailing behind the two until they reluctantly agreed to bring him along. Soon, he had found a new home alongside David, Corilyn, and Anor, meeting new faces in Chorral and never straying from the worldly trail.
Once a fierce and gallant fellow, the drakir's attitude has been tamed somewhat since he began his journey, though he still retains somewhat of a bold, noble demeanor and isn't one to shy away from conflicts he feels strongly about.
Cenephar's talents, of course, lie in his abilities as a warrior. A clear expert in the art of melee combat, he is a challenging fighter no matter what kind of weapon he uses, and while much of his skills are honed from natural talent and decades of experience, he is always eager to pass on practical tips to those who are interested. While Cenephar doesn't have much combat potential as a caster, his ability to learn from example has granted him a couple dreamweaving spells to add to his knowledge of ritualistic blood magic.
Anor
Lifespan Ancient and impossible to discern, but young in this world
Race Prismatic Dragon
Title Prismatic Pilgrim
Companions David, Corilyn, and Cenephar
Visage With a height that stretches to an incredible 40 feet, and a wingspan almost reaching 150, the mere scale of Anor is enough to terrify any other living being, especially since he is vastly larger than even the tallest of dragons from Chorral. If one is to glance up from the black talons, similarly black horns, and large, woodland green scales (which lighten up at the belly and the wing membranes), however, they'll eventually notice those two black, draconic eyes surrounded by blue - eyes that speak volumes about the creature's gentle, but intensely curious nature. Unlike other dragons, there is no mark or sigil around either of the eyes.
Origins For unknown reasons, Anor seems to be unable to recall what his life was like prior to the couple years before he first encountered David and Corilyn, and while the former was terrified almost into submission, it would be the first time Corilyn displayed her inexplicable habit of approaching and greeting a great creature without even the slightest idea of fear entering her mind. Corey easily sympathized with the dragon's plight in wandering aimlessly and never truly having a place to come along, and it wasn't long before the three (and soon four, with Cenephar's entry) agreed to travel the world alongside each other. These days, Anor can usually be seen curled around Corey's study in Chorral, walking beside his companions, or observing the world from far above the clouds, and his presence has never instilled anything less than confidence and comfort among his closest friends.
Perhaps one of the most unique traits of gentle, curious Anor is the fact that he is most comfortable being respected as a mind equal in ground to his companions, despite his likely far greater level of intelligence, a fact which the others are profoundly aware of. In other words, no one will defer to Anor just because he's a dragon.
Like any other dragon in the world, Anor's proficiency in spellcasting is such that ordinary spells are third-rate knowledge, but draconic spellcraft comes surprisingly easy to him as well. In the sky, the dragon's eyes are unnaturally keen, allowing him to spot out small details other winged creatures would almost certainly overlook. In the rare event of combat, Anor's overwatch is an absolute boon as the close connection with his companions allows him to form novel strategies from high above.
