Yeah, I got that impression too, but Lekiel said that the ranks don't matter (don't quote me on this, I might be wrong lmao) so I'm guessing they might be paramilitary instead of being fully as I originally thought.

And sure! We can do that. I have a very basic idea of what I want my character's backstory to be like, so I don't think it'll be a problem for us to come up with a way our characters know each other, as long as my muse cooperates. I'll type down some stuff here in a little bit. :)

United States Military Ranks & Insignia - Military-Ranks.org here's a quick facts kinda site for the us military and its different branches - if you don't want to get in too deep with research.

So I'm thinking this up on the fly, pardon me if it sounds implausible, feel free to chip in/discuss!
I also should probably include all these random lore to a box in the main thread.

So...
1. Life Outline of Splyced Child: Born with markings/Parents notify local medical facility of weird looking kid (if not born in hospital, highly unlikely though) > Codexed by Miranda Academy in collaboration with hospitals. > Parents advised to bring child to Academy branches for followups. > Parents are told that child has a mutation and will have to be closely monitored, parents are also given plenty of compensation to keep them happy > Child goes to school as per usual, with occasional checkups > At age 12/manifestation of 7th sense child is sent to Miranda Academy as a full time 'student' > First lesson, never ever use 7th sense outside of school grounds, unless permitted (failure which you will be... punished.....) > Children still do get holidays, fortnight weekends off to go back to parents/be normal child > General public know that because of Edenseed radiation, some children are born different/sick, nothing more > 15 they begin bootcamp alongside studies > 16/17 they are sent to whichever branch they have highest affinity to > 21 y.o. They have another choice to join any governmental organization or selected research facility to work their adult life.

2. To the general public... Project EdenKnight wha? Also, Sector 11? Didn't aren't they defunct now that we've lost Ardennais along with the good Doctor Ivanov? Shame really.

3. NEU Center for Robotics and Edenseed Research, founded by Dr. Ivanov Sterne, Dr. Perch (whats your dad's name Petroshka Petroshka ? I'm on my phone), Dr. Miranda Avondale, Dr. Elizabeth Val Myriad, Dr. Tetsuru Tsujinbo, Dr. Aoi Takeda. around the time the Pyrkaian Confederation was discovered, NEU C.R.E.R. was changed to Sector 11 (on advice of General Odenheim), a paramilitary organization tasked to develop research technological countermeasures against possible threats. Based in Ardennais. Officially defunct with the fall of Ardennais. Secretly reformed in Sentinel by General Odenheim, funded by very rich Sentinelians who shall not be named as well as Kasaian Power Families.

4. Splyced children/adults whom have shown compatibility to Large Edenseeds are excused from all active duty, on orders of General Odenheim to assist him in turning the tide of war.

Three if we count Aquilla in the socially awkward military type list.

As far as how to handle the military folks and getting transferred into Sector 11, maybe something along the lines of they are 'requested' to be transferred into a Black Ops Unit to undertake missions crucial to national security or something like that? Would explain why they are suddenly outside of the previous command structure and are getting transferred around, without really giving any details to people that don't need to know.

Soulmuse Soulmuse does have a good idea that on record, they could be transferred to another division. They could be transferred to a new experimental spec ops division funded and commanded by our friendly paramilitary Sector 11, but no one needs to know who the benefactors are, right?

I'm a bit on the fence on them being black/covert ops as opposed to spec ops.


And LOL at the little crowd of military awkwardness that is Gabrielle, Aquilla and Titania. Watch out folks, you'll be cringing all day and night watching these three try to interact with new people.


EDIT: sharing my sci-fi board just in case anyone needs any more insp.
 
I'd say on record it should be spec ops, not black ops, thinking about it. Would raise fewer questions that way, amongst their (former) COs, or even other troops. Most would probably figure that they're being reassigned because of their 7th sense, and leave it.

EDIT: I was going to make some comparison to how the Area 51 works, but I can't find squat on what people working there do on official records, so not sure if that'd be quite accurate

I agree especially because all of our people excel in some way plus with the 7th sense. So all the other normies would just assume they've been selected for an elite division or something.

It's okay, part of the reason I started with a prologue instead of action stuff ^_^; A few of the others have told me they'll be busy till the weekend anyway. And our last EdenKnight won't be free till the 23rd luls sheesh sheesh
