Infinite ∞

It had taken more effort than usual, but Seija was unusually motivated this time around. The tengus' patrol was tighter-knit than the night of her last attempt, but their security wouldn't stop her this time. She had managed to get her way around all the typical traps and obstacles leading up the Youkai Mountain into tengu territory, and they were none the wiser. For shame, really. She would've at least given them a little credit if they were able to notice her after trying to come back to try the exact same thing as before. Sure, her route and strategy were different, but it was all one big game of capture-the-flag at this point, and they needed to either adapt or lose the game. Here she was now on the outskirts of the prime center of tengu culture and living in Gensokyo: the tengu village. Her plan? Rob right from the household of Lord Tenma himself...without alerting anyone. After all the stunts she had pulled (and pulled off successfully, mind you) in her months living in Gensokyo, this was among her most ambitious ones yet. Taking precious valuables from Tenma, the king of all the tengu, just to see him fly off the handle? What a lunatic, suicidal idea. For someone like Seija though, who loved to be hated, it was an idea as delicious as moist cake to her lips. She surveyed the front gate—of course, too many white-wolf tengu were blocking the way. If anything, their swords and shields were just decorations when compared to what they could do with danmaku. On a normal day, Seija would've humiliated all of them in a matter of seconds without even having to whip out her forbidden items; however, this wasn't a normal day. This heist was going to be challenging and all about stealth. Seija needed to sit back far away from the gate to avoid being picked up by the tengus' acute senses—rest assured, they could see, hear, or even smell a twig snapping from miles away. Seija couldn't afford to make any noise whatsoever. Not a problem, of course, considering that she'd made her way past the patrols the entire way here. She flew around outside what she thought was the limits of the white wolf tengus' senses, surveying her options. She kept circling and circling until she finally returned to where she had stopped before, and her brow furrowed as a result. Was there really no stealthy way inside?

...
.....
........

"Screw it," she muttered with an exaggerated shrug of her shoulders. She flew ahead at a blistering speed, but before she was able to even reach the wall's perimeter, the village defense force already knew she was approaching, and they were already bound to intercept her on the way. A curtain of wolf tengu seemingly materialized in front of her. When she thought about it, the tengu were worse than a hive of furious hornets when it came to defending their territory. Anyone who even thought of stepping foot on the mountain was already a trespasser in their eyes. Seija wasn't an ordinary trespasser, though, and she certainly wasn't who could be made an example of in front of their whole village so easily.

"Gather around, everyone! I really do like all of you, so I'm going to give you an equal chance at me. I'm fair game; come at me!" she proclaimed.

They didn't waste any time launching an onslaught of danmaku at her before her monologue was done.

Seija proceeded to weave and twist her body in ways that would make even a seasoned acrobat second-guess what they just saw, her slim figure snaking through the rather conspicuous holes in their curtainfire. "Beautiful danmaku, the lot of you!" she said as if genuinely serious. There were holes that were easily exploitable, making for some very-possible-to-dodge danmaku. Her "compliment" was a perfectly backhanded one, and it caused Seija to snicker in delight.

"Don't you know I've already beaten your finest at their own game? Danmaku, yellow journalism...throw whatever you want at me, and I'll send it careening back your way after it's all said and done!"
she said with a grating, arrogance-filled bout of laughter as she sped down just above the ground level of the village, grazing through increasingly frequent balls of light and long, glowing laser beams in the process. The streets lit up in a blaze of flashing multicolor glory—it was a real fireworks show lighting up the streets.

Seija ran backwards up the side of the palace, leaning this way and that as danmaku shot past her body at different angles. Some crow tengu entered the fray, continuing to get more up-close and personal. Sure, they probably were faster than she was, but since Seija was nearly where she was planning to be from the start of this, it didn't matter long enough for them to make up the difference.

Seija flipped backwards through the air and headbutted her way straight through the shiny, metallic roof of Lord Tenma's home, her pursuers still hot on her tail, or legs, rather. Small groups of tengu guards poured in through the decently sized hole in the roof as Seija twirled into the house treasury.

"Yep, looks like trash," she said as she swept up the most valuable sentimental-looking item she could find and settled on it as her trophy for this special occasion. With that out of the way, she busted yet another hole in a perfectly good wall to start the second half of the plan: escaping. Unfortunately for her, though, plenty of tengu were waiting just outside, and as the ones from behind caught up and continued their assault, Seija found herself shooting around like a bullet ricocheting off walls, frantically dancing to the breaks in their danmaku and the swings of their swords. There really wasn't any way to go now, and too many tengu were appearing for her to keep pace with. In other words, this danmaku was coming from all sides and starting to overwhelm her.

"I haven't even shot back yet. What, do you think you're going to get that satisfaction?" she taunted.

As the wolf tengu from the outside came to join their feathered comrades, they decided to join in. Seija knew this situation was impossible to overcome normally, and she, unlike the prideful race of the tengu, was willing to adapt to the changing times.

"Let's up the ante! GAP-FOLDING UMBRELLA!" she announced as she whipped out a parasol she had swiped from the youkai of the gaps herself. The amanojaku slashed the umbrella through the air as a tear in the fabric of space—a "gap" full of creepy eyeballs—opened up.

"See ya~!"
she said as she flew inside the portal.

Shining Needle Castle

With Seija being so far away from the Youkai Mountain now, the tengu had to have given up by now. She'd captured the flag, and it was their loss.

She had reappeared in the Shining Needle Castle—a massive floating fortress off to the side of the Youkai Mountain, and also her base of operations. The amanojaku, being a stubborn creature, didn't acknowledge the castle as her home. The large building had remained upside-down for the last few years, and it had stayed abandoned for even longer. In fact, the last time anyone else had been here was when her plan to overturn society had failed.

As the gap created by her magic parasol closed behind her, she took a moment to check the status of the item that had helped her escape the angry tengu.

"Man, there's no charge left in this thing..." Seija said with mild disappointment.

"Oh well. It'll be ready to go tomorrow, I guess,"
she said with a shrug.

She rotated slowly through the air inside the castle's tall throne room as if under zero-G, and her eyes fell back upon her new prize. Seija recalled the furious cries of the tengu guards. Their voices composed a beautiful choir for her ears as she smirked at her own possession—the crown of Tenma himself, or at least one of his many spares. Nevertheless, it was a fine catch. As the amanojaku twirled the golden crown around with her index finger and admired its lustrous sheen, a thought occurred to her.

Seija chuckled. "Y'know what'd be even better?" She asked herself as she rose to the floor, which functioned as the ceiling in this bizarre place. She stood and walked along the grand floor. A long carpet lead to a single throne forged from stone at the very end.

She smiled, thinking this would be a pretty fun idea.

........

The youkai returned from her makeshift dressing room, giggling devilishly as she strolled out onto the grand carpet in her new outfit.

"Kneel to me, my residents of Gensokyo!" She shouted theatrically.

For an outcast like her, the only ways she could entertain herself were by putting on shows for herself like this or by purposefully irritating the diverse residents of Gensokyo.

Seija sat herself on the castle's throne. She rested her elbow on the chair's armrest, her fist balling up against her face as she smirked.

"O, Gensokyo, lend me your ears!"

The amanojaku thrust her other arm out, gesturing to her imaginary subjects.

"You may now rise in honour of Her Majesty."

Seija cleared her throat and straightened up in her makeshift throne, ready to deliver her impromptu monologue.

"There is always room for change in this great, wide world of ours. ...However, even if there are great things about this world, not all of us were born equal. Isn't that pretty discouraging? No matter how hard you tried in that old world, there was always someone better than you."

Seija stood from her throne with a triumphant scoff.

"The weak were pushed aside...mocked...spat upon...forgotten! Well, they had the world wrong from the very beginning! Look at how the strong have fallen now...with the power of the Miracle Mallet, I smote them from their places of pride! In this world, it is the weak who will be the governing voice! Let the strongest drop to their knees...let them beg all they want, but they won't get anything but the heel of my shoe! You should feel honoured to have me as your new ruler of Gensokyo, for I, Seija Kijin, have done the impossible! The unthinkable! The incomprehensible! I've made the world alive and wild again, just like it always should have been. Wouldn't it have been boring to see the strongest always come out on top? Well, you can thank me for making things interesting again. From this point onwards, I am the Champion of the Weak—and you—my loyalest of subjects. And now, I shall accept this crown with great resolve as I lead Gensokyo into a new age."

The anarchic youkai bowed to her imaginary audience, having finally run out of things to say.

"Eheheh, did pretty well there, didn'tcha? One of these days, it'll be true. You'll be the strongest of the weak," she muttered to herself.

"Impossible...It can't be..." A black jackal clad with a silver mask and a giant red stone on his chest growled, glaring at a spunky blue hedgehog and a optimistic red fox looming over him. It happened once again; He, of all people, was beaten by mere nobodies. His body was being distorted madly; red, black, and even static particles appear to engulf pieces of him as he glared at his sworn enemies. "I cannot be defeated...!"

"Wrong, loser!" The blue hedgehog replied with a finger wag, soon tapping the back of his 'partner' with a smile...Ace, Infinite's once very own second in command in the Jackal squadron...A traitor. "The things that can't be beaten are heart, soul, and the bonds of friendship! Three of which you and your counterfeit cronies lack!"

"You insolent little--!" Before Infinite can finish his sentence, he could a strange sensation: the sensation of his body being torn to pieces, a painful sensation as particles seem to split him apart. "No, wait! I can still fight! I..I--!" Infinite pleaded in terror as his body soon faded out of existence, leaving only the glowing tetrahedron gemstone that once pierced Infinite soon shot off into the distance with a bang. Heading towards a peculiar little gap in space time with various creeping eyes appeared for a brief millisecond and vanished immediately.

And with that, the threat of Infinite was gone. . .Well, there's still Eggman to deal with...

--????--

In an area of pure darkness and various gaps opening, a peculiar blone lady clad in purple and white holds a peculiar red gemstone on her palm, marveling at it's craftsmanship. She knew that there was something in there, and she was curious to know what it is...

--Moments later...--

In a hallway made out of wood and ceramics, lined with various large windows and lighting that appeared to be that of a japanese castle of the Edo period. Though a smart individual would claim that it appears to be built the wrong way...Almost as if it was built in reverse; Upside down. Well, that's just the nature of the floating Shining Needle Castle of Gensokyo; one of the stranger things above Youkai mountain. In it's interiors, a small gap opened, and a red gem slipped off of the gap, falling onto the 'ceiling' of the castle.

A few fairies that are wandering through the castle noticed this and approached the gem with glistening eyes, filled with blissful curiosity. The fairies were oblivious to Infinite's gem, and toyed around with it; passing it around one another like a ball. When a fairy missed her shot at her playmate, the gem began to glow, surprising the two fairies as it began to hover above the floor. Soon rising and rising as it let out a distorted sound.

A negative pulse shot off of the gem, engulfing the two fairies as they began to float in place; a figure of an anthropomorphic Jackal forming in piles of red and black static. The pulse stopped, and the fairies were dropped to the ground. Along with the distressed Infinite.

"I can still...Fight...?" As Infinite was supposedly being withdrawn, he finds himself standing on a castle of some kind. The only difference is that gravity never did it's job and he's standing on the ceiling, it seems. He looked at his black gloved palm, clenching it as he determines that he appears to be...Fine. "This is...Peculiar." Infinite noted, soon adjusting his loose mask. He feels a rush of information flowing through his head; faces of people he never met, places of a land no one had ever seen, powers that seemed unimagunable. "Dan...makus..." He muttered with his eyes closed. "A strange, yet powerful gift...This data...It's fascinating..." Infinite soon opened his eyes as a surge of energy rushes through his body. The Phantom Ruby appears to have regained power on it's own...Perhaps his arrival here refilled it?

Before he could investigate any further, Infinite spots several hostile beings in the distance; a rag tag group of Fairies, Youkais, and Moon Rabbits seemed to be firing off balls of energy at him; Bullets of what the data described as 'Danmaku'.

"Interesting..." Infinite slaps one of the Danmaku bullets, sending it back at the group. The Ruby on his gem gave a pulse, making the group float in the air as Infinite crosses his arms. A smirk hiding behind that silver mask of his. "Now...Let's see what they could do..." He said as giant red cubes began to gather in front of him, forming the shape of five well known gensokyans from the data he recieved;

A witch of a dark night(Marisa)
A puppeteer of lifeless dolls(Alice)
A blue maiden of ice(Cirno)
A White servant of the frozen time(Sakuya)
and a Red shrine maiden of mysteries.(Reimu)

Infinte allows the five to move freely and take care of the pestering beasts, analyzing their feats along with the data he had. The Witch appears to have a large arsenal of explosives and beams. The Puppeteer relies on her dolls, but gets the job done elegantly. The Maiden of Ice's potential has yet to be exploited. The Maid had knives that seemed to move faster than Sonic himself...Or did he not see them more at all? Then the Shrine Maiden...Boy, was he in for a pleasant surprise. The maiden moved both in elegance and power, outperforming all of the ones before her; even the maid who can seemingly teleport. She was one of the most destructive one he's seen thus far...With a grin, Infinite turned around, allowing the clones he made to roam free. He could always create more if needed to, after all.

With a curious thirst to witness 'Danmaku', Infinite set off to wander the 'Shining Needle Castle'.

--{Encounter}--

Arriving at what he thought as the 'bottom', Infinite arrived at what appears to be a throne room, one befitting of a king like him...Yet a king hides behind his pawns...Only a spineless coward would be so proud of being one.

Soon, Infinite hears footsteps, and he then hides behind one of the castle's many pillars. He hears the voice of a girl, one of youth pretending to be of royalty standing in front of a sea of nobodies...Literally.

However the words she spoke of...The topic she had chosen taken to address to her imaginary sea of subjects...It resonated with Infinite so well. They share an ideal; an Ideal where they won't be mocked...An Ideal of the weak...Words that resonated with his shattered pride.

"The strongest of the weak? An interesting concept." Infinite steps out of the pillar, staring at the anarchist girl in front of him. There was no data about her, save for the fact that she's a youkai. "I wonder if it would be considered a paradox if such a title existed..." he pondered as he rubbed his chin with pure curiosity...

Seija heard the footsteps of another, causing her to immediately grow wary of who might have been listening. Was it that tengu reporter? No, she wouldn't have even made a sound if that was the case...

...Instead of a voice typical of—say, a fairy or a tengu—she was met with a deep, distorted voice unlike anything she'd witnessed in this "natural" world. Pretty intimidating, to be fair...had he been lurking in the shadows this entire time?

With a voice like that, Seija wasn't expecting the youkai it belonged to to be so...comparatively short. It took a strange and unorthodox form—then again, a youkai could theoretically take on as many appearances as they wanted. Still, though, there was something radically different about his look compared to what the amanojaku was used to seeing in Gensokyo, and she couldn't shake that idea.

The stranger was a creature with two legs and black-and-white fur all over...kinda like a bakeneko with a bucket of paint dropped on it. His tails looked more like a fox's than a cat's, though. What was he?

And then there was his getup. Those leather gloves, the comically large shoes, the glowy chest-gem, the plated mask...?

Even with all of her first impressions still forming in her formless youkai mind, Seija glared at this random visitor, her gaze unwavering. She was more curious than anything, but she still responded in an overtly snide manner—not unlike a teenager going through a defiance phase.

"So, what kind of freak from Makai are you? How'd you even get here, anyway?" Seija asked confusedly, toying with the crown on her head with one of her hands.

"...And what the hell's with that getup?" She teased, stifling some mock giggling. The amanojaku's glare had seemed to relax—whether that was a bad thing or not remained to be seen.

"I'll have you know that I'm King in these parts." Seija claimed childishly. "My word is law, so you'd better answer."

The Masked Jackal merely crossed his arms, analyzing the Youkai in question. She seemed to be no different than a human; Much like the esteemed Doctor he worked with, save for the gender. She bore a black and red queen's outfit, complete with blue ribbons and a crown of her own.

The 'Queen' seemed to be unfamiliar of his appearance, as if she'd never seen a creature of his kind...The same was the case with Humans back at his world.

"You may call me 'Infinite'...To the moments that remain to you." Infinite introduced himself, "I am what you call an 'Outsider' in your world's terms. Though I came here through...Extraordinary circumstances far beyond your comprehension. Circumstances which, had led me to gain knowledge of this world...Gensokyo, and it's inhabitants. Albeit, limited." He admitted as his Ruby soon glowed, generating a reddish aura around him. He soon floated to her eye level. "My appearance is of no concern. It is merely designed to control the power I possess." He soon unfolded his arms, revealing the glowing ruby on his chest. It could, perhaps, be a hint of Infinite's source of power that he's controlling...

This guy wasn't all just show, but that's what Seija had figured anyway. As 'Infinite' lifted himself from the ground, his body began to take on a deep-red hue as the gem on his chest glowed.

Seija only cracked a cheeky half-smile at the jackal as she fiddled with her poofy dress.

"Oh, so we're introducing ourselves now?" Seija asked, acting as if she was clueless.

In a few seconds, her black dress fell to the floor (ceiling?), and she was left with a short white shirt and a black-and-red skirt with an up-and-down-arrow pattern. She plinked her prized crown off of her head with a flick of her finger, pivoting away from Infinite's stare.

IMG_9104.JPG

"I'm Seija Kijin—master of this castle...and the mortal enemy of all Gensokyo," she said as her little smile changed into that of a sly smirk, exposing her various pointy teeth. "Since you're such a strong outsider, I think you're still in need of a proper Gensokyan welcome, aren'tcha?"

Count Gensokyo Count Gensokyo

Infinite immediately let out a soft grunt the moment he heard her cockiness; it reminded him too much of that insolent hedgehog and his humiliating defeat. Nevertheless, the girl relinquished her facade as the Queen of the castle, and soon revealed her true clothing, even going as far as flicking off her own crown off her own head, sending them towards the 'floor' above them. The girl's clothing has a 'Arrow' metif to them, bound on a pattern that seemingly reverses one another. The girl then grins, revealing her name as Seija Kijin...Apparent opponent of all Gensokyo.

"A Welcome, you say?" Infinite questioned, adjusting his mask as if to cover his face. He had already been welcome by Fairies with a boring fight, what more can a true Gensokyan offer? "Intriguing..."

For a while, there was little more than a few moments of the jackal and the amanojaku staring at each other.

Seija had waited for longer than was necessary to the point of this pause in the conversation becoming stilted and uncomfortable.

...And one moment after that moment of uncertainty, Seija suddenly thrust her arm out at Infinite, clawing through the air dramatically as her hand twitched vigorously.

The antagonistic youkai was already set on fighting him ever since the moment he appeared. If she was going to start this, though, she was going to do it her way—bullying and annoying the crap out of him as much as possible with her powers. Not only for being an outsider, but also for being someone she perceived as strong and not weak. Such is the way of Gensokyo, where hazing and supposed-battles-to-the-death are how you greet friends, foes, and strangers alike...

Seija repeatedly flipped the space surrounding Infinite between "Up" and "Down", and if successful, it would spin him rapidly in place at a dizzying rate. This was one of her favourite moves in the history of ever, and anyone who didn't either have a reasonable amount of patience and endurance or actually enjoyed getting flipped between two polar opposites in midair to the point of motion sickness usually made anyone on the receiving end very angry at her very quickly.

And, of course, she was going to be snickering all the while.

-Infinite, The Masked Vessel of the Phantom Ruby-
Count Gensokyo Count Gensokyo

For a little while, Infinte was a staredown with the apparent Anarchist, waiting for her first move. Usually, Infinite would begin immediately; tossing a clod of Ruby Mist at her that would warp the perception of reality itself, but the data he recieved suggests that Youkai are vulnerable to the Ruby's secondary ability. Thus, he crossed his arms, letting the Phantom Ruby activate as multiple red blocks appear around the area, thinking that it would do some damage once she finishes her first assault; Which happened shortly after.

Seija thrusted her arm in a erratic manner, soon flipping his center his gravity in reverse; To the ceiling. Strange. He had done something similar once before, but only to mislead and intimidate. But to this woman...It's apparently a welcoming ritual...No, the moment the woman keep flipping his gravity in a rapid pace, he knew what she wanted; A spar...No, a fight.

". . .Are you done?" Infinite asked whilst in a rapid spin, as if unfazed by the constant shifting of gravity. He knew that she won't be finishing that easily, therefore, rending his Inquiry meaningless. "Very well." The Phantom Ruby let out a pulse as he spread his arms, abruptly halting his spin as red cubes that he had summoned shot at the Anarchist in a rapid pace as he generates more and more. Their powers are quite similar, that he can tell.

With a flick of his wrist, Infinite generatesd enough cubes as it forms multiple replicas of fairies which recieved slight, mechanical upgrades in their bodies and a blue robot shaped like a hedgehog in the middle, seemingly in command.
latest
"Go." Infinite thrusted his arm forward as he flew backwards, allowing the Metal replica shot forward in blinding speeds as the Cubes stopped forming, allowing Metal Sonic to shoot itself towards Seija with Mechanical Fairies shooting at her behind the robot. Using this tactic, Infinite can further study Seija's battle patterns as he formulates a strategy. Furthermore, it may also amuse him to see the Doctor's own creation be destroyed

Seija wasn't surprised upon Infinite freeing himself from her constant flipping. After all, she was testing the limits of his power just as much as Infinite was analyzing hers. He was an unknown element—an opponent she had never faced before—and that made her all the more eager to best even the unknown.

With a low whirring sound, tendrils of crimson red (Ruby Mist) enveloped Infinite as he sent out flickering red cubes—his own style of danmaku. He continued to summon more at an ever-growing pace.

Seija spun around hither and thither, warming up to the rhythm of Infinite's stream of deadly cubes as if it was part of a carefully coordinated two-man dance.

While Seija was busy dealing with Infinite's initial barrage, he had time to summon some little helpers while he stood back and watched. Mechanical fairies, and another entity that was completely different...more Outside World stuff that she couldn't be bothered to make sense of.

There's no such thing as common sense in Gensokyo, after all.

"Ha! You have to make your own fairies to fight for you? Puh-lease. Fairies just naturally gravitate toward me because I'm a natural-born leader. Are you so insignificant that something as small as a fairy can't flock to you as a leader? They can sense a powerful presence naturally, so why aren't they coming to your aid?" Seija commented as Infinite's henchmen began their approach. Her insult might have been lost on him due to their cultural differences, but she hoped something about that managed to irk Infinite.

"Now, let's see how quick your cronies fall when I'm actually fighting back!"

Seija held out both of her arms, her palms facing upward. Just as Ruby Mist had enveloped Infinite as he began battle, a large, glowing red circle expanded from the amanojaku youkai. The outline of a red hexagram—a symbol of magic—traced itself through the interior of the red circle.

IMG_9201.JPG
The youkai twisted her body at an awkward angle and held out her palm, her tongue sticking out as she struck a bizarre pose in midair. Gladly, Seija finally returned with shots of her own as zigzagging lines of glowing-red magical pellets packed with explosive power spread out from her in a spherical formation, causing the danmaku to spread in every direction of the large room.

Fairies could hardly dodge quick-fired danmaku aimed directly at them, let alone more complex patterns like this. Seija, perhaps mistakenly, assumed that these fairies couldn't be much different from their 'natural' counterparts. With any luck, at least Infinite's fairy creations would be out of the picture as they struggled to navigate through the maze of zig-zagging explosive magic. While Seija performed her non-spell, however, her mind was primarily focused on Metal Sonic as he boosted towards her. If the robot wasn't stopped by her first bullet-hell attack, Seija was ready to immediately disengage her attack and focus on dodging whatever the carbon copy of Eggman's creation had in store.

With both of the combatants gradually flooding the room with projectiles, there was going to be less and less wiggle room as the fighting progressed.

"I am not weak." Infinite scowled as he watched his fairy clones to be reduced back to Ruby Mist. The data stated that fairies are naturally weak...Save for one, but nonetheless, the weakest of all Gensokyo. Infinite managed to graze the bullets, managing himself through the bullet hell the Anarchist had created. Metal though?

The Metal Sonic, though quite heavy on it's own, managed to graze the bullets, only scratching his metal surface and his rocket. Metal soon let out a purple electrical shield, forming around him as he soon boosted towards her in an attempt to ram her down.

Infinite noticed how small this battle field is getting as he stopped generating his Mist and focused on dodging all of the projectiles, even going so far as to get near his opponent as he does so.

"Playtime's over." Infinite said as the Phantom Ruby let out a Negative Pulse, freezing everything inanimate except for the two of them. "Let's take this somewhere else." Soon enough, their surroundings began to distort, as a bright, red flash emerges from the ruby.

As the light dies, the room was left with nothing but the floating Danmaku, Ruby Mist, and a Metal Sonic stuck on a wall.

--{Teleport}--

On the peaceful skies near the Human Village, everything seemed to be in peace. No youkai attacks, fairies are being fairies, and to top it all off...It was a rather silent night.

However, a loud distorted bang soon erupted out of nowhere, as a field of negative colors appeared in the middle of the sky, soon retreating into Infinite once more...
