Realistic or Modern Sun and Moon (Swordsman and Jynxd)

Another day, another dollar. At least, that's what Adi told himself. Getting out bed in the morning was easy, but he hated having to stand inside most of the day. He enjoyed watering the plants out in the sun, and he wished he could do that every day, but there were newcomers, and they always got the easiest job. Ati, however, didn't like it because it was easy; he liked being under the sun, enjoyed every second of pure warmth that he could get.

Adi stood at the register, quietly organizing pens and small seed packets that were laid out on the counter. He wanted someone to come and ask him for help, just so he could take them walking outside this horrendous building. It wasn't really horrendous; in fact, it was quite a beautiful room, but... the sun was outside, not inside. His coworkers moved things here... and then there... and then back again, trying their best to set up the new items brought into the store. He helped carry the heavy things, but he mainly let the managers handle the organizing. With his apron on, Adi found himself playing with the pockets on the front of the apron. There was nothing inside them but small pieces of lint, but it was distracting, so he chose that over standing around.

It had seemed like an odd job, setting up a Bed and Breakfast, especially for a young woman who preferred the nights to waking up early and tending to guests during the day. But, it had turned out she was rather a good hostess, and the little chapeau had flourished in the first few months. There was still plenty of work to be done on the place, but it was getting easier and easier.

The newest project she had decided to work on was a garden. Well, perhaps gardens was more accurate, as she wanted some flowers for the front and something a bit more elegant in the back. She'd been referred to a nursery down the road, one that seemed to be almost as new as her own little establishment. But, it came with quite the recommendation, so it was there she would go.

Once her guests were settled for the day, she made her way over.

---

Serina rather enjoyed the walk, rather than opting for a taxi or anything noisy like that. It was too beautiful a day out, and while she preferred her moonlit nights, there was something about the sun and its warmth that seemed... welcoming. It was the only word she truly had for it.

It wouldn't be long before she foot over the threshold of the Nursery's storefront, glancing around her idly to take in her new surroundings, before glancing with a smile towards what appeared to be the clerk.

Adi was just about to twist his pockets out from his apron, but he saw a girl smiling over at him, so he awkwardly returned his hands to his pockets just to rest. He walked to the counter and leaned against it a bit, looking over to the woman in the store. He knew it was a new store, so he hadn't really been expecting any customers. It was better to smile and nod and continue on with whatever was thrown at him.

"Hi, my name is Adi. Is there something I can help you with?" he asked softly, his hands moving out of his pockets to rest on the counter near the register. He didn't want to seem awkward, but he didn't want to look to eager either. She seemed like she would need help because she didn't just walk to the yard. She had stopped and smiled, and here he was.

The young woman sported hair of platinum blonde, almost silvery in some lighting. A simple white sundress was her attire, which perhaps made her look a little paler than she would have otherwise. Eyes of blue gray settled on the clerk, who'd greeted her and asked if she needed help. There was a nod as she moved closer, still looking around as she approached.

"Uhm... yeah, hi! I own the Bed and Breakfast just down the road..." She gestured offhandedly, as though she were able to point it out clearly. Realizing she couldn't, she simply turned back to him with a bit of a 'well that was silly of me' grin. "Sorry. But I was hoping to start a garden over there, and I've never done that before... Could... You help me?"

Serina was in her early twenties, perhaps a bit young to own such an establishment, but hey. Stranger things had happened, no? "I can't say I'm much of a gardener or anything like that."

Adi listened carefully and even followed her gaze when she turned to point out some sort of building she owned. He was a bit disappointed in his own interest, as he had looked over as well. He smiled back at her when she turned to face him. A garden? He wondered briefly what kind of plants she liked, but he felt himself staring at her eyes. There was something... about her that seemed familiar. He barely heard the last part of her statement before nodding quickly and moving to exit the register area.

"I'd love to help. I assume you're after some flowers of some kind? What kind of garden are you wanting?" He reached over to grab a small pad of paper and a pen to place into his pockets. He gestured for her to follow him to the yard, opening up large glass, sliding doors that opened up to a path to was lined with all kinds of plants. The flowers were located a bit father in, but it wasn't far. "Do you want to grow from seeds or have plants already grown?" He figured that would be a good place to start. As soon as the sun was on his skin, Adi felt a kind of relief.

As he moved from behind the register, she prepared to follow him, heading out into the yard with him, searching again with inquisitive eyes. It seemed... oddly natural to follow him, though she moved a step faster to try and walk beside him. What an odd thought... she mused to herself, mentally rolling her eyes at her own foolishness.

Hers was a strange existence. It seemed like she'd suddenly appeared one day, not really knowing who she was or where she'd come from. A name, a place, and well, something oddly fabricated was her life. But, she'd not had any way to deal with it to the contrary. For... how did you? How did one reveal their history when there was no history to be revealed? It was a conundrum, to say the least. But, she'd managed to accept it for now, making the most of it all.

"I'm glad." She was indeed grateful for his assistance, and nodded at the mention of flowers. "Something that doesn't grow too tall for the front, and then... I'm not certain, but I imagined a cute little garden for the back... A place where people could walk, or sit and enjoy the day." Passing into the yard, she was assaulted with all sorts of smells, a wildly fragrant array that was both pleasant and dizzying. "I... I'm not sure. Would you have a recommendation for seeds versus pre-grown?"

Adi continued to listen until he was standing in a ray of sun, his mind wandering... just a bit. He refocused when she mentioned something not too tall and her question of "pre-grown" flowers. With a twist of his lips, he thought about it. "Well... if you pick out the right ones, already grown flowers are a good choice because the effect is immediate. You wouldn't have to wait to see the flowers. There is some reward in planting your own though, as you get to watch them grow and nurture them. For you, I think already grown would be best; you mentioned a bed and breakfast, right? You'd want flowers rather than spots of just dirt in your yard." He continued on with his walk to approach some smaller flowers- carnations, daisies, marigolds, and many, many more.

"The front would benefit from the smaller flowers, like these," he said, gesturing to the plants near his feet. He crouched down to touch the petals of an iris, his mind going blank for a moment. Life. How precious it was, even in a small plant like this one. The rays of sun were almost tangible against his fingertips, but he had to stop daydreaming. "However, I think something like rose bushes might be good for the backyard; they smell good after all. What do you think?" He kept the question short, wondering if she was following along with what he was getting at.

Serina was nothing if not attentive, taking in his words carefully so as not to miss anything, plus, it gave her an excuse to look at him more closely. He wasn’t much older than her, if at all, and seemed to enjoy the sunbeam he’d found. She smiled, nodding as he mentioned already having flowers rather than patches of dirt everywhere. “Though, which would be the ‘right’ ones?” she asked, noting the iris he’d suggested.

He seemed to drift away for a moment, lost in the touch of the plant. She wondered briefly where he’d gone, that he was so interested in the flower all of a sudden. He returned, and she made no mention of his momentary lapse, for he went on to suggest roses for the backyard.

They were lovely, and fragrant. “Would it be possible to do a bit of variety? A simple rose garden would be lovely, but…” She considered for a moment. Perhaps roses would be easiest to care for? “I guess I really should be asking which ones are most resilient. I wouldn’t want to plant all these lovely flowers only to have them die because I’m a terrible gardener.” There was already an apologetic smile on her face, as if she knew that this would likely happen anyways.

A sudden thought struck her. “Oh… Do you have any lilies? Or evening primrose?” She wasn’t even certain how she knew the last one, though it seemed to be something familiar to her. Serina could not for the life of her figure out why, and so, she let it go, hoping she’d masked her momentary confusion at her own mind.

Adi did what he could to stay focused on the woman in front of himself. He smiled a bit, a half-smile, before nodding a little. "Most already grown flowers will survive as long as you water them. Seeds are a little more finicky. And there's plenty of those types of flowers just around this corner." He led her left of where they had been standing and motioned to the flowers she had asked about. He let her step ahead of him so that he could watch and see which ones she was more drawn to. Without meaning to, he stared. Her hair. Her eyes. Her... mouth. There were signs that he knew her, but he couldn't place it and didn't want to say it and possibly ruin whatever business venture they might be tumbling into.

The way her hands moved and the simple rise and fall of her breathing was so entrancing, and he had to remind himself to breathe. Breathe. IN. OUT. Come, on Aditya. It's just a girl. He chalked it up to beauty. Perhaps he was just attracted, but he knew better. That would have to be a good enough answer for himself right now. "I think... primrose would be a great match to some brightly colored flowers, like begonia." He motioned to some small, red flowers beside them. For the next few minutes, Adi showed her many different sets of flowers and what he thought would work best. After matching kinds of flowers and colors and the best kind of "easy" flowers, he turned to her, knelt on the ground to show her a few tulips. "These are some of my favorites. The yellow ones usually stand out best in arrangements."

Serina caught the half-smile, and did her best not to stare at him. It wasn’t polite, after all. So she nodded, following him to the flowers she’d asked about. They were lovely, as most flowers were, but the lilies especially spoke to her somehow. These would definitely go in her garden... maybe in a little space just for herself.

Kneeling down, and making sure her skirt was arranged about her legs for modesty, she reached out a tentative hand to brush against one of the petals, smiling a sweet little smile.

Moving to stand, she brushed out any wrinkles in her dress before listening to more of his suggestions and comments. Her mind was beginning to pick out certain kinds, and had a general look in mind for her project. Lastly, he mentioned the tulips, so vibrant in color that she somehow was reminded of the man kneeling at their planter. “Do you grow all these yourself?” She asked after a moment, her eyes shifting to study his face.

Adi watched this woman a bit but tried not to stare. He heard her question, and he paused to really think about it. Well, it wasn't fair to say that he did it all. At least he could tell her the truth. "No, not all by myself. There are a few employees that help take care of them, but I am the... main gardener. I actually really like growing trees. It takes a long time, but it feels really rewarding when they finally sprout and get strong enough to stand on their own." He was clearly in love with all of the plants, but he stopped himself from getting too deep with the conversation. He smiled over at the girl and brushed his hair back a bit.

"I hope I've helped in some way with all of this. Did you have anything in mind?" he asked, starting to get up from the kneeling position he'd been in. He flattened out his apron and returned his hands to the pockets on the front of it. He resisted playing with the inner pocket while he stood and talked.

"Still impressive." The woman said, smiling. He seemed truly passionate about it, and she found it was a rather endearing quality; a true sign that someone took great pride in their work. Something began nagging at the back of her mind. A sense of familiarity that she brushed off as maybe having passed him on the street, or seeing him as she passed by the nursery before. But, it was such an odd feeling at the time, she just wasn't sure what to make of it.

He stood once more, tucking his hands in his front apron pockets. Briefly, Serina wondered if he was hiding a case of nervous fidgeting. "You've been very helpful! Maybe too helpful, since you've offered up a lot to choose from." She glanced around her, looking to each of the flowers he'd pointed out, and looked as though she'd be rather hopeless at choosing. Her gaze shifted back to him, her expression lapsing into apologetic smile at the helpful man. With a bit of a soft laugh, she went on. "I do know, however, that I'd like some of those tulips for the front of the house. I think they'd be a perfect way to welcome guests to the place... What do you think? We can start there, and then maybe focus on the garden after?"

Adi listened and watched as she gravitated to the tulips. His heart felt like it was skipping beats, but he swallowed it down and nodded as he joined her to look at them. "Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe... we could take a look at the yard and figure out what would work best in the back yard? Hydrangea, tulips, roses, and lilies usually match pretty well, but it depends on the color. I agree that tulips would be a good start." Adi moved some flowers around to start pulling some forward. "What color were you thinking..?" he asked, moving yellows, purples, and reds forward for her to see.

There was such a need to gravitate to her, and he wished he could think of something to talk about. It was hard to converse... when he didn't truly know anything about her. For some reason or another, he wished he did. She seemed sweet, and he was excited to be able to get to know her, even if he wasn't really going to get to know her.

"That would be great! I could certainly use your expert opinion." Was that something that nursery workers often did? She hadn't been aware of such a thing, then again, she'd never tried to buy flowers for a home before. Shrugging the notion off, she watched as he pulled some of the aforementioned tulips forward. He asked about colors, and she considered for a moment. "Well, the building itself is a soft yellow color... Would red be too striking?" She felt so out of her element with this... but, it was a bit of an adventure, if a mild one.

"What about red and purple?" She was definitely no designer. But, she did think they looked pretty, and that was all that mattered, wasn't it? There was a quiet moment before she asked softly. "You said your name was... Adi, right?" For some reason, she wanted to remember the name. Maybe she could ask for him the next time she chose to stop by- he'd been truly helpful and knowledgeable about what she needed, she wouldn't mind asking for his assistance again.

He thought about the colors together and thought that red would definitely be striking- but he didn't think of it negatively. He actually thought that it would pull in more customers if more people looked at the building. Despite the thought, he nodded anyway and started to pull some more red and purples from the various tables in front of them. "That's right. Aditya, but Adi is perfect," he said, knowing that Adi was short, easy to say, and easy to remember.... at least when compared to Aditya. He grabbed a small cart and started to load the flowers into it.

"How many do you think you'll need? What's the size of the building's front?" he asked, knowing he would need at least a small bunch of them to make sure she would have enough. "We'll also need some soil and maybe some fertilizer? We should probably start talking about a budget, if there is one..." Adi paused to start calculating in his head, especially with the discount he would most certainly give this girl.

"Aditya." She tried the name, possibly mispronouncing it some, but she liked it well enough to decide she'd work on it. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Serina... Thanks so much for your help today." She tried to help where she could, when it came to loading up the flowers onto a cart. He gave her a few more questions to consider, and she laughed a bit. "This... is a bit more complicated than I thought it would be." Feeling silly for saying it, she simply shook her had at herself. Who could one laugh at if not themselves?

"I honestly don't know how big the front is... There's a path that leads up to the door, so they'd be on either side... I guess worse to worst is that I plant some today and save the rest for later. Totally didn't even think of budget. But if we did just this for today, what would the cost be? It'll help me plan better in the future." Serina gave him a bit of a sheepish look. She could run a bed and breakfast, but couldn't budget for flowers? Silly indeed.

But, that was part of life. Well, her life, anyways. It seemed she was always forgetting things like that. Or... had she? Some days she wasn't quite sure. It seemed like she had no memory of her life beyond a year or two ago, but as soon as she questioned it, something managed to manifest as a memory, and she tended to forget all about the strange feeling.

For some reason or another, Adi really liked the way that... Serina said his name. His eyes stayed glued to hers and he almost missed her statement. He smiled with a small laugh. He spent a few minutes explaining the cost of this project, and it was on the fairly cheap side for the flowers and labor (he was mostly accounting for the discount he was giving her). As far as he was concerned, he didn't truly care for the money. That wasn't the reason he had chosen to work at this nursery anyway. "So... anyway, let's get this down there to start planting, if that's okay with you," he suggested softly, pushing the cart back toward the building. He would have to load up the work truck anyway before they started anything at all.

His heart was going crazy, and his thoughts were all jumbled, so he chose to focus on all the flowers he had in his cart. The colors were dazzling, and he suddenly thought himself lucky for being able to access all of these beautiful flowers. Each petal felt like it told a story, and he wished he could read them, say them aloud. He wished that he could see all of their growth and individual jewels. He wished that someone looked at him the way he looked at flowers... maybe one day.

Adi slowed to a stop once they got inside the door to make sure that Serina was following behind him.

As they discussed terms and pricing, she seemed surprised. "Well, that doesn't seem too bad at all... " It was definitely cheaper than she thought it would be. "Are you sure that's right?" she asked, a brow raised. But it seemed so as he mentioned going ahead and taking the flowers to their new home. "Uhm.. Yes, yes that works fine!" She offered him a smile before he turned to head back into the building. She was happy with her choices, and tried to imagine how pretty they'd look in front of the house.

But there was something else there. A comfortable familiarity that made her curious as to why. It was nice, sure, but as far as she was aware, she'd never met Aditya in her life. At least, she didn't think she had. But that was just as well.

Serina would trail after him, lagging a little behind to glance at the flowers once more. They really were pretty... so well taken care of, as if they had been grown by the sun itself. Her gaze shifted skyward, one hand shielding her eyes as she looked up at the bright orange ball. After a moment, she realized that Adi was waiting for her just inside, and she took a couple of quick steps forward to meet up with him.

"So... What's next?" She wasn't certain if she should head home and await the delivery or if she should wait.

(Sorry I was gone for so long, I was going through some stuff, but I'm back now)

When asked if the pricing was correct, he nodded a bit and then looked at her to the side. "Yeah. I can charge more, if you want?" he suggested, raising a brow at her. Mostly, he was joking, but it was true; he could charge more if he really wanted to. He laughed though and started to push the cart to the store truck. As he loaded it, he listened to the next question, and he smiled comfortably as he answered, "I suppose we go to your business and start planting... unless you wanted to wait."

Honestly, Aditya would do anything to leave the nursery. He wanted to sit in the sun and feel the warmth on his skin, his clothes. It's all he wanted- to be with this girl-... wait, that wasn't what he truly wanted, was it? Adi paused to think, his hands hovering a bit over the plants in the truck. He would normally start writing out a receipt, but he couldn't get his brain straight... not yet.

"Would you like to schedule an appointment or just do it today?"

[Is all good!]

"No, that price is fine. I was just making sure." Serina said with a bit of a giggle. Moving with him, she followed him out to the truck, glancing at it curiously as he began to load it, wondering if she could help. He seemed to have it well enough in hand, though she would start handing him things. "I suppose now would work. I hadn't quite been anticipating it, but most of my patrons are out for the day, so it shouldn't be a bother..."

In truth, she was excited to get started as soon as possible. To see the changes it would have on the appearance of the house, as well as being able to partake of the delightful visuals- it was exciting! "If you're able to come by today, we might as well get to it. I don't want to have you close down shop just for me, though." She didn't recall seeing anyone else, but she'd felt strangely focused on the man, even if she'd still managed to look at pick out flowers.

"Though, wouldn't you want payment first?" She eyed him gently, wondering if he was, perhaps, a bit flustered somehow? Or maybe he was just happy to leave the shop. Either way, he didn't seem to have all his wits quite about him.

For some reason or another, Adi felt weirdly taken aback by her question of a payment. Somewhere in his mind, he had forgotten to charge her at all. He knew he had told her a price, but his brain hadn't stopped to think about an actual... payment. He looked over at her and offered an awkward, small smile. "Yeah, I guess we should, huh?" he asked. Adi finished with the truck and walked to the register so they could talk through this.

Adi had a very small staff- 2 other girls and 1 other guy that were usually around the store. They had been organizing all of the products when Serina had come into the store. Without anymore exchanges, he pulled out a 3 ring binder and opened up to the customer tab. He started to make a few notes and started to take the inventory. He didn't need to look at the flowers to remember which ones he had taken. Adi wanted to leave already, maybe that was why he had been such a space cadet... but he had this nagging feeling that he knew her, that he shouldn't charge her for any of this. He reminded him that this was a business though and he had to charge her... at least for the flowers.

"Okay.. so-" Adi talked with Serina a bit about the price he would accept for an initial payment, and he figured it was pretty fair. If she wanted to do payments, he'd had more reasons to talk to her later.

Had he truly forgotten? Serina couldn't help but giggle gently at his forgetfulness. "Probably." She said gently helping him where she could with the truck, and following back to the register inside. "Are... you alright? You seem a bit distracted." She said softly, as he pulled out the notebook. Her gray eyes watched as he began making notes, unsure if he'd heard her.

The discussions of payment resumed, and she worked out a payment plan. It seemed the better option, given that she was certain she'd have to go to him for advice more often than not. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to see him more... he was cute, after all. But something more pulled from within. She chalked it up to his pleasant and friendly demeanor, if nothing else.

When all was said and done, she'd grin, standing up straight as she sighed softly. "I should head back... Will you be coming by this evening? Or... even now?" The last two words were spoken with significant hesitation, as though realizing she sounded all too eager saying it that way. Her pale cheeks flushed lightly as she averted her gaze gently, pulling her lower lip between her teeth in a gesture of embarrassment.

Aditya took notes across the page he had dedicated to her purchase and slowly worked through how he was going to deal with such a venture. When she asked if he was coming even now, he smiled at her and gave a small nod of his head. "I can come now. It'll give me... something to do," he replied, his last sentence a bit of a side note to himself. When he realized he said it out loud, he offered an awkward smile to Serina before grabbing some tools from under the counter. He wanted to be as prepared as he could be for a job like this.

He moved the binder back to its proper place before removing his apron to grab a different colored one and carrying it on his arm. "It's just down the street, right? I might as well head over."

As much as he liked this girl, it was impossible for him to pinpoint why. Sure, she was pretty-... beautiful, if he was going to be honest with himself, but there was some other feeling in his stomach, his head. Each look she gave him set the butterflies soaring in his stomach and made his hands start to sweat. What a weird feeling he had toward with her.

There was a wash of relief as Adi agreed to come by now, glad he didn't seem put off by her eagerness. "Great!" she said cheerily, smiling brightly in reply to his awkward (though charming) one. There was a nod, affirming the direction of her place. "I'll meet you there. I have to make a stop on the way there, but you can't miss the place. It's the yellow house with the white sign in the front yard." She gave him a wink of one of her gray eyes before she moved out of the shop, hopefully with him in tow.

It seemed strange, but she was quite excited about the afternoon. More so than she would normally be, at least. The prospect of learning to garden was fun, but she knew that wasn't the only reason she was anticipating it. There was something more, but as to what, who could say? Perhaps it had something to do with the young man who'd be helping her out with the project.

She wanted to study him more, to learn more... There was something there that she simply couldn't put her finger on. It wasn't a bad feeling, but bothered her if only because she was curious enough to wonder the exact reason why.

Adi waved goodbye as he got the rest of his tools and started to get in the truck. On the way out, he let the staff know where he was off to in case “he got axe murdered” on the way. The staff seemed unamused, so he laughed himself and started to drive away. The girl had been right, at least; the house was impossible to miss. And terribly cute. After he parked his truck, he stood outside his truck, leaning against it and observing the front yard. He continued to stare for a while but decided to start taking out flowers he thought would look cute in the front planters. Before anyone could by, Adi had unloaded most of the flowers he wanted to use, as well as his bucket of tools and some potting soil.

He couldn’t pinpoint why he was so excited to help with this... but he supposed it must be normal. If this girl was really important somehow, he would have to figure out why. For some reason, he felt extremely lively, his entire body in the sun light for the first time that day. He spent a moment standing, eyes shut, hands stretched out. Aditya decided he would finally start working, so he moved some flowers over to the planting area.
