TV & Film What's your favorite holiday special?

SandraDeelightful

Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee
Is their any holiday special that you like to watch this time of the year?

My favorites are It's A Wonderful Life and Elf.

Bernard and the Genie!
This hidden gem of a 90's Christmas movie. Written by the same guy who made Love Actually, Notting Hill, and that one Van Gogh Doctor Who episode that turned me into a pathetic, crying mess. Stars Floop from Spy Kids, the shrunken head on the Knight Bus in Harry Potter, and of course Mr. Bean.

If we're talking purely Christmas, I really, really love Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. I don't know why! It's just my favorite Christmas special that I've ever seen. I'm fond of the Hearth's Warming Eve Play episode of MLP, too. It's cute. Also for purely Christmas, I liked the Chowder one and the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends one.
There was also the House of Mouse one from back in the day that I have on DVD and the Once Upon/Twice Upon a Christmas Mickey Mouse things. They're cute, too.

(But for Halloween, I'm all about the Billy and Mandy spider queen thing :P )

I like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer best; mostly because its stop-motion animation actually holds up today.
Like, putting it into perspective, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is behind today, and clearly behind. Same with Frosty. Not that I don't like them, but they're not as good.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is not behind. Stop-motion claymation-y animation hasn't had much development at all, so the animation not only holds up, it actually surpasses, in some ways, modern claymation.

Also Yukon Cornelius is awesome.
