Nope. She just studied like a maniac. So I guess her specialty was magic theory? It's why I always referred to her as a sort of scientist when it came to magic. xD she just knew a lot about it but had never practiced it. So since the main cat is out of the bag... basically Lydia's grandmother was the one that had implanted the idea into Lydia's mom about writing to Howl and asking for the apprenticeship, but this was only after she had made contact with him herself and explained to him about Gaston. xD so Howl would know who Gaston really is.

Hahahahaha well Thomas was amused and probably acted like he was nothing new because he thinks he's like all accustomed to everything in the magic world because of Percy. Amelie and Celia probably had a lot of questions and were very interested. Frederick was probably surprised like his mom and their dad probably had a lot of disbelief but would want to ask if fire was typically like that in places that used magic.

And then the twins would be like: "Nope, Calcifer is family, he was a fallen star whom dad (points at Howl) gave his heart too, then the Witch of the Waste tried to take dad's heart (points at the witch), but she gave it back to mom just when dad became a bird monster, kinda like our sister, but like a big black giant swallow, and that's how dad got his heart back into his chest.

Calcifer: Imagine what I could do with your eyes or a heart!

lmao oooooooh my goodness... yeah, I think that they would all get quiet, Thomas would look bored, and their dad would just clear his throat and change the subject, or he would leave and grandma would laugh and lighten the mood. xD

Twins: Okay, James.

Later on . . . . James walks in to see the twins showing Lydia and her family James' baby pictures.
