THE REBELLION HAS BEGUN
-

  • A rebellion is on the horizon, tensions between the royal family and members of the community rising to dangerous heights. Sooner or later, something is going to give.

Whether you're a noble knight for the republic, a sly assassin for the Order of the Black Lotus, or a simple farmer living on the outskirts of the capital of Torinth, this war will affect you. One way or another.

In this RP, you can play on either side of the rebellion, as a rebel or a royal. Or you can start off as a neutral who will eventually have to make a decision for your own future.

CH. 1: Part 1 - Convergence

-

  • King Rothstone had been trying his best to ignore the revolts in Siegmore and Milltown, hoping that if he didn't acknowledge them, they would eventually realize how foolish they were being and stop. That wasn't the case, though. Things only got worse. Governors in the southern districts were taxing heavily as punishment for revolting, an idea proposed by Governor Ebeneezer Dunstan. This only angered the townspeople, leading them to vandalize some of the governor's home before being chased off by guards.

The king needed another solution to this growing problem. On top of the growing rebellion, word of the Order of the Black Lotus reached Allaister. They were a group of deadly, dangerous, and ruthless individuals who worked in the darkness. They were lead by a one Master Black, a man that the king had never heard of. The only information he had on the man was that he was a powerful mage with the backing of the disgruntled townspeople.

Katobi, the king's only son, proposed the idea of calling upon a squadron of elite warriors to combat the order. The young man referred a Johnathon Ohmar, a man once tasked with assassinating the royal family. Katobi took this warrior in and inducted him into the O'Kalali, a group of warriors that serve the prince. Along with Ohmar, the king has called upon Markis Zelle, a highly respected commander in the Torinthian army, Ser Kojo Aduku, a knight from Abakua, a distant land north of Torinth, with great combat prowess, and Doran Sandford, a young knight of the republic with a special ability. The group of warriors has all received letters from the king, requesting their arrival at the palace immediately. Upon their arrival, Katobi has been tasked with getting them acquainted.

Taking a step away from his duties of the kingdom, King Rothstone has requested a small meeting with his wife, Queen Dhalia, to discuss their daughter, Princess Estelle, who has been growing increasingly distant from the family.

(Now, so you all don't get confused, this is just what I intend to have happen in this part. In the coming post, these events will be playing out. This is just an overview so you all can know what you need to be doing to help you write your posts)

Allasiter Rothstone was stressed out. Though, that was to be expected from a man with the pressures of his entire kingdom on his shoulders. The fact that his daughter seemed to be avoiding him wasn't helping. When she was younger, the two of them had a great relationship. That all changed after his duties as king forced him to leave his wife and three children for long periods of time.

He rubbed his temples, his knuckles brushing against the golden crown wrapped around his head. It was times like these that he wished he could throw the crown away and be a normal man. Alas, that wasn't possible. This was his job, given to him by his father. Why couldn't he give it to someone else?

The king was currently in the large council room in the palace. He had called the meeting to address the growing rebellion in the southern cities of Torinth, namely Siegmore and Milltown. The civilians seemed to grow angrier and bolder everyday. They needed to be stopped but none of the king's methods seemed to be working. Taxing them heavily definitely wasn't the solution, something Governor Ebeneezer figured out quickly. With the Order of the Black Lotus influencing the rebellion, King Rothstone was going to need to come up with a plan to take them down.

This would prove to be no easy task and his knights definitely wouldn't be able to do it, if the stories about the Black Lotus were true that is. One of his advisors suggested creating a small task force of elite soldiers to handle to Black Lotus.

''That could work,'' the king replied, his gravelly voice noticeably tired and bored. He then stood up, placing his strong hands on the long, wooden table. He knew exactly who to have on this task force. ''Send a message to Katobi; tell him that we need Johnathan's services. Also, send out letters to Ser Kojo Aduku, Doran Sandford, and Commander Markis Zelle. I request them here within the next day.''

His advisors nodded and scrambled out of the room, quickly trying to carry out their king's orders. Allaister nodded and walked out of the room, heading to the room that he and his wife, Dhalia, shared. He wanted to speak to her about Estelle, their daughter. The girl wouldn't talk to him, leaving him the dark about everything. Perhaps her mother would have some information about what was going on with her.

Master Xor Black clasped his hands on the circle table that he and his fellow Black Lotus members sat around. The members in the meeting were his most trusted acquaintances. There was Bronn, his second-command. The boy was incredibly loyal and a great mage, which was why he had progressed through the ranks so quickly.

Vitalis Snipe, often referred to as Vitali, was the second closest person sitting to Master Black. The feminine-looking boy seemed to be staring off into space, no doubt recounting all the memories and knowledge in his expansive mind. After Bronn and Phantasma, he favored Vitali the most. He picked up the boy when was a kid, only eleven, and eventually brought him into the Order.

Then there was Griffin White, the young man who could neither walk nor see. Ordius felt pity for the boy, which was why he took him under his wing and introduce him to the Order. After learning about the hidden power within him, it only gave him, even more, incentive to keep him around.

Phantasma, Leiana Miztretta, and Rose Rain were the last members at the table. The former was his only true friend; after he had run away from home years ago, she found him and took him in, teaching him the secrets of magic. Leiana was a good warrior and a new recruit to the order, as was Rose Rain. The latter was the Order's healer, a talented young girl who tended to shy away from the actual fighting. Master Black supposed that's what Bronn was for.

After a long period of silence, the man finally spoke. ''I suppose you're all wondering what I have called in for this early morning.'' He stood up, twisting the ring wrapped around his long index finger. ''The rebellion is growing. More people are joining the cause. I have been organizing small missions for those on our side; simple petty actions such as sabotaging a trade caravan or the Republic's or harassing a governor. However, the Republic still do not take us seriously. It is time for us to show them that we mean business and that they cannot sweep us under the rug like crumbs.''

He took a deep breath, realizing that his voice had raised a bit. His hand trembled with unbridled rage and his dark eyes were wide with malice. ''I have composed a plan for us to attack a party of young soldiers coming down from Karth. They have been called in by Rothstone to help quell the resistance. We will not allow this to happen.''

Master Black turned to Bronn. ''We will need reinforcements, however, as you cannot take them all out yourself. Which is why you will go out and seek Nerrezza Darcius. Find her and bring her back here.''

He then averted his attention to Phantasma. ''I need you, my friend, to seek out Ryuu Okobani. I am sure you have heard of him.'' The young man had quite the reputation, especially around Siegmore.

''Rose and Vitalis, you two will be staying here to look after Griffin.'' Before either of them had the opportunity to protest, he started walking towards the exit of their makeshift meeting room. ''Now, if you'll excuse me, I have got some business to attend to. I trust that my assignments will be completed in a timely manner.''

He gave Bronn and Phantasma a curt nod before leaving to head to the streets of Siegmore.

Ryuu Okobani.png
Ryuu walked about with his hands in his pockets and his face looking ahead. He hadn't been noticed by the townsfolk, yet. He would be known when he found the person he was after. The man had been watching a thief for some time now, waiting for the man to pass into an alleyway or somewhere where he could go unnoticed so he could make his move.

It wasn't long before the man did so and Ryuu picked up his walking speed to meet him. It wasn't cruical that he did this now but he also didn't want some thug to get away with his small pouch of 'Money'. Right as the wanted man turned the corner, his ploy was discovered. a groan escaped the thief as he cursed his luck before seeing the same man he had stole from.

"So you recognize me then." Ryuu said as he stood there, thumbs in his pockets. "You shouldn't be stealing from anyone no matter how easy it seems or how desperate you are. Before you ask why you shouldn't, no it's not necessarily because it is wrong. The real reason is you may just end up with someone itching for revenge or you may unknowingly kill them by taking from them. Therefore you are in every way responsible for any benefit or desecration of that person and i find it bad you didn't think about your actions thoroughly enough to expect many outcomes of one simple action."

The now angry man at the other end of the ally way pulled out a dagger. "You talk big now buddy. But look who has a weapon to help them. I'll put this into your belly, right. Between. Your. RIBS!" He laughed as he rushed forward, arm bent at the elbow, aiming for a straight stab.

"You mean you'll attempt to do that correct?" Ryuu asked even though he knew the answer as he put his hands behind his back as he spun around the man like a dancer.

"Why you little punk!" He growled, again charging.

Ryuu dodged again and shoved the man in his back with a hand before jumping back a few feet. It would be sad to most, if this display had been in public. But it wasn't and no one would know what was said besides the rats rummaging through the trash and the flies buzzing around the disgusting leftovers of everyone around them.

"For your nativity i shall hope you survive this sir. It will be a lesson for you to know to choose what to do to whom and when." exhaling out of his nose, Ryuu raised his left hand and snapped his thumb and middle finger together, the sound bouncing off of the ally walls like a quilt needle in a noiseless room.

The result of the snap lead the thief to be blown out into the street from the force of an explosion that erupted right by his spinal cord. With his back charred and his shirt burning the man slid across the ground a small amount of feet, face down, smoke rising from where his body came from. Trash burned, causing thick black pillowy smoke to arise from the ally as Ryuu parkoured among the smoke to the roof-tops and over to the next walking path so he could get away in case anyone ran into the ally.

Landing on the ground, the dry dust swirled around his feet. Among the panic, his landing went unnoticed and with people running around him he stuck his thumbs in his pockets and walked off. He didn't regret what he had done. There was no reason to as the consequences wouldn't be major. No one had seen him and he hadn't left any evidence behind to link it to him minus the explosion. The 21 year old now planned to relax at a pub or inn to get a drink to attempt to clear the smoky taste from his mouth and the familiar smell of burnt flesh from his nostrils. He had more to do afterwards in the night and nothing planned until the moon rose in the sky and took out the light with it's pale moonlight, borrowed from the uncaring sun.

The governor sat at his desk, writing out letters, approving business deals, specifically ones to hire people to repair the damages done to his house. He snapped his fingers and a servant came to him "Yes sir?" He said in a loyal yet nervous tone, Ebeneezer leaned to him a bit "Do inform the guards that they shouldn't be afraid to be more aggressive with any intruders in the future" the servant gave a bow and hurried off to inform the guards, he knew that one thing the governor hated was waiting too long for things.

Ebeneezer knew that a lot of people hated him but he paid it no mind, he would continue to march forward, through any further vandalisms and possible attempts on his life, it was if they harmed his son, Francis, that things would become grim.

It was then that his servant returned "Sir I have informed all the guards, they will be more aggressive in the future" the Governor turned to him "Fine job, Thomas and record time as well". He then looked out his window for a moment "Tell me, Thomas, who do your serve?" Thomas gave Ebeneezer a confused look for a moment and the answered him "You, sir" Ebeneezer then went silent for a moment "Then who do I serve?" He asked his befuddled servant, raising an eyebrow "T-the King, sir".

Ebeneezer took a seat at his desk and began to pour himself some tea "Indeed, the king, the king who wants to bury his head in the sand and pretend the revolts aren't happening" he said before taking a breath and sipping some tea "Now these revolutionaries must hate me, and the king has still not taken my advice to come down hard on these people" he shook his head. He then looked to Thomas again "Go find Francis, his classes start soon" he said as he waved his hand at Thomas.

Phantasma
Tas perched on the edge of her chair, doing her best to not immediatly spring out of it and pace around. She felt caged in and absolutly loathed it. What was wrong with holding meetings under the open sky anyway? Plenty of places to discuss treason and see the stars after all. To keep herself occupied she studied those around her, since she already knew everything Ordius was going to say. Bronn was there, (her first grand-apprentice?), looking more attentive then she was. He was amusing but his streak of ego was worrying. He could learn a thing or two from Griffin. The kid couldn't walk but had a humbler and breezier spirit then most. She liked that. Mis was utterly adorable and her being a better fighter then the ancient witch did not dissuade her at all. And Rose well, she sensed a kindred spirit in the young girl. They hadn't spoken much but if she wanted magic tutelage, Tas would be chomping at the bit to teach her. As the meeting concuded she held up a single finger and one of her actual friends landed on it. 2ndSharpestbeakbutThirdSharpestClaws (TSBBTSC for short) was one of her favorite message carriers and to track down Ryuu she'd need all the friends she had.
A flock of birds flew through the darkening skies like a feathered meteor. Swirling Chaotically yet all hurtling to the same place. The smell of burning flesh. The crows had spoken to the witch as they picked at the uncovered flesh and she responded. As the flock approached it they flinched away from the smell. Such a waste of life. At least her friends would derive some benefit from the cooked meat. The birds flew away, following the rats who scented the blood on Ryuu. She found him in an alley, the stench of burning flesh sticking to him like gristle. The swarm of birds twisted and turned until Tas reformed and stepped in front of the dark haired man. "Ryuu," Tas said quietly, "The Lotus asks for your service."

Nerrezza Minerva DaricusLocation: Random bar/inn in Milltown

Current outfit; disregard weapons
She was sitting in the back of the bar, watching people about. There weren't that many people, not this early in the day, just some leftovers from the night before. A lot of people were currently unhappy in the current situation and she couldn't blame them. Higher taxes also meant less business for herself. Not many people were willing to pay for her services when they could barely upkeep their payments. Nerrezza needed someone to survive and when people weren't paying for assassinations, she had to resort to her other skills-lying and stealing her way. She planned on leaving tonight though, this would be her last night in Milltown. She had been here for awhile and it was always a risk running into someone that actually knew her since grew up here. Nerrezza made sure to always visit her family, that were alive, but only to check up on them from afar. Occasionally she would leave them whatever money she had in the night. She never got caught by her family. She didn't want them to see her, though she loved and missed them, she could never go back.

Movement from the corner of her eye brought her attention back and Nerrezza slowly shakes her head, dispersing her nostalgia. Tonight she would leave to go to the northern cities, it was riskier, but a bigger payout. The three men in the center of the bar were getting ready to leave, they were tired, but she couldn't let them go yet. She didn't even order anything, she had slipped into the bar unnoticed. Well, now was to break that silence. She adjusts her cloak and hood, making sure to hide Erebus properly. He was always resting on her shoulders and she had enough hair to hide him. He was one of her greatest hidden secrets and she couldn't let him be seen unless she needed him. She walks over to the table and speaks to the men. "Can I play?" She asks the men, who were about to pack up their board game. She had never play the game before but had been studying it, watching them play for hours. The men looked around and then at her. "Beat it," the one growled and Nerrezza smiled though they couldn't see her do so. They didn't trust her, which was a good thing. "I can pay.." she lets her small coin pouch jingle. The one that growled before, his attitude changed, and sets the game back up. Nerrezza takes a seat across from him.

From the time that she has been watching them play, it was the one that she was playing against, that had always won each game. She suspected him of cheating and the other two scowled at the man. They all seemed to be quite tired. Nerrezza lays down a few copper coins and the man doubles her. She wasn't fooled though and matches him, he kept searching her face, but all he could see were two innocent eyes looking back at him. The game didn't last long and neither of them talked until the man won. "Better luck next time," the man says, a bit smug. Nerrezza smiles behind her mask and pulls out one gold piece. The man looks back at her and growls. "Come on, you're just going to lose again. Why are you wasting my time?" He puts down a matching gold piece and they play once more. Nerrezza loses again and the man howls in laughter. His friends had grabbed some cups of coffee, now enjoying this strange girl be beat.

"One more time," Nerrezza says softly to the man. "Listen girl, you are insane, just go home. I might actually feel bad for ya," the man says, happier he was richer once more. Nerrezza simply puts down a small bag of coins. "All or nothing," she says, her voice soft. The man and his two friends were shocked but Nerrezza knew he wouldn't resist. He was this deep into it and he was tired and still drunk. The man couldn't resist, not for this amount of money. The man shakes his head, matches Nerrezza, and mutters the word 'crazy.' But he plays, this time, the game goes on longer than the man expected. He begins to sweat as Nerrezza takes the lead and finally wins. With a quick swoop, she takes both bags of money, and heads out of the inn. By the time the man processed what had happened and tried to go after Nerrezza, shouting insults angrily, Nerrezza was already secured in a hiding place.

Ryuu Okobani.png
Ryuu stopped his movement but did not step back. His other foot was moved beside the one ahead of it and he gave a glare at this person he assumed to be a witch. It was highly likely she was a witch as she had used animals and formed where they were moments prior.

She was shorter then him by around and inch to nearly two if he was right. Slender waist, nimble arms. She had a staff as well. From this angle Ryuu couldn't tell how long it was though. At this close of distance, he was readying himself for an attack and retaliation but when she spoke, his face changed very little yet enough to notice in such short distance.

"The Lotus asks for me?" He questioned. Warmth radiated around the two as he was getting ready for anything. Fight or Flight. Attack or Defend. Most never got this close to Ryuu on their own accord unless they asked for a death-sentence delivered by him or he permitted, which had happened one time years ago. Yet, this woman knew him yet he didn't know her.

"If you would be so kind, do tell me Me whom you are Miss. What is The Lotus? Do you mean the rebellious group The Black Lotus? Or another group entirely? Also, Why come so close to me? Did you expect me to back up when it was you who decided to stop me? I have more questions for you as well. Who truly asks for me and for what purpose am i called upon? If you're claiming the rebellion wants me i would like an explanation and my questions to have suited answers if possible. If you instead mean a whole other group called The Lotus, do tell whom hey are if you are allowed too." He kept a level head and his demeanor calm as normal. Both thumbs where out of his pockets and people walked by without a thought.

"I ask so much to find answers. If you don't answer me and give a wretched reason on why you can't, you do know what could happen correct? If not, think. Choose your words carefully or you may end up with a result you didn't expect."

Tension grew within the atmosphere of the palace and it hung around like fog. Katobi was just as concerned as everyone else within the palace, but he couldn't stop thinking about his father's actions with approaching the issue. He hoped that he would take advantage of plan that he could help in as long as it ends the rebellion before it spirals into chaos.

Katobi had begun to pace back and forth while staring down at his rug on the bedroom floor. His mind raced, he could feel his heart rate increasing with each thought rushing through his mind. He came to a sudden halt at his desk and placed his hands on it to lean on it.

"I need to stay calm until I receive notice after his conference." He said reassuringly as he pulled the chair out to sit down.

Waiting was his best option now, so he looked to the back of his room where his paintings remained up against the wall and his few small scale sculptures sat on a nightstand. Katobi never did like his models, though completing each one gave him a sense of accomplishment that one would feel after scaling the tallest mountain after hours of pushing through the pressure. He grinned slyly before diverting his attention to the knock on his door.

"Come in." Katobi called.

Peaking around the door was one of the advisers of his father, seemingly out of breath as if he had rushed down the hall to his room.

"Good Evening Prince Rothstone, I've come to tell you that the King has made his decision to combat the Black Lotus and has put you in position to organize a special task force suited for the job." The adviser spoke.

Katobi's eyes widened and he looked to his bow for a second before turning back towards the man in his doorway.
"Understood, I should begin with gathering an important individual for the task. I will need a messenger." He reached for a piece of paper, pen and ink to begin a short letter.

With that note he neatly rolled in up and neatly tied it in a burgundy ribbon that had the Rothstone royal emblem attached to it and handed it to the advisor to deliver it to a messenger.

Steffon

It had been a rough few days sailing but Steffon and his crew found themselves in some pokey backwater
bar owned by pirates. It was a location not on the map and only known to pirates as well as anyone of the
underworld of society. Grabbing a mug of ale, Steffon sat himself in a private room upstairs, Karliah on one
side and Vilkan on the other. The topic of their discussion?, the current climate and goings on.

Naturally the revolts breaking out meant that rioting would soon happen and that would leave plenty for the taking.
Karliah advised against taking a side so soon, but with the kings oafish ignorance to what was going on, it was clear the rebellion was off to a good start. As Karliah said "No revolution happens by the will of the smallfolk, there are always people in the background, manipulating and planning"

Of course Steffon knew this to be correct, any idiot could see these revolts were being provoked by someone. Looking thoughtful Steffon took a swig of ale and got to thinking. While the king may be ignorant the prince sure was not. As pirates they knew they would have to make a few big raids then vanish before the prince turned his attention to the pirates.

This was why they were seated around the table. Planning a string of raids before making a get away off to the east where many dared not follow.

Throwing back the faded bed covers, Rose Rain was met with golden rays of sunlight that streamed in through the rafters of her attic bedroom. Illuminated specks of dust swirled around the girl of angular-stature as she sprung from the covers and did a strange little stretch in the confines of her room.

The sunlight faded as Rose peered out from moth-eaten curtains, she guessed it was around the time the merchants set up their dingy stalls waiting for a new victims to cheat out of their money. Soon, the coppers, the beggars and the thieves would crowd in and fill the steamy streets with noise. An unladylike grunt escaped her lips as she let the curtains fall before gathering up her monster of a cloak from off the floor. The cloth stank of good ol’ earth and nighttime air from her usual strolls after a particularly bad dream. Without bothering to change out of her night-gown, Rose shrugged the cloak upon her shoulders, tugged on her gargantuan knitted hat and pocketed her doctor’s mask (just in case).

She unlatched her window and tiptoed her way across the tiled roof before expertly sliding down to the pavement below. With a racing heartbeat, the girl nudged her way through a trickle of citizens before dashing to the library, only a few block from where she resided- The girl definitely did not want Joan to find out where she was sneaking off to on her days off. It obviously wasn't a good girl thing to do but Master Black had called and so Rose came.

___

Again. The healer was left to look after the blind boy. For all she knew, he managed just fine on his own. Just because they were the same age didn't mean she enjoyed his presence when everyone else went off on their exciting missions and just because she was the healer didn't mean the boy needed looking after. He never did much anyways. Rose thought she spent more than half of her time watching him sleep than actually dealing with any accidents on his part. It made her blood boil.

Plus their conversations weren't that thrilling either.

Her gaze bore into Griffin's as she broke the silence.
"Do you not find it dull having to stay in this library all day and not being able to read?" The girl swung freely from the sliding ladder, she wasn't incredibly high up but enough to survey the entirety of the meeting room. Her eyes dashed from Griffin to the older boy, Vitalus. Jealously, she wished she could have hair as white as his. A part of her suspected he had a lot of secrets, something about his aura chilled her bones.

Now. Of course, Rose didn't mind being stationed with quiet company but it truly did get awfully boring after a while. "Shhhh...Click....Shhhh...Click," The girl absentmindedly nudged the ladder along with her foot and then pushed herself back to her original position. The wind blew her hair into ribbons of black as she raised one hand off the ladder, "Woohoo! Look! I'm flying!" The statement was followed by giggles that echoed around the vast library. "Wanna join?"

Doran woke up with the sun hitting his face. He hates it when that happens. It's, for him, the worst way to be woken up. He would much rather have whoever he was sleeping with the night before to wake him up in a more personal sense. None-the-less that wasn't how he was woken up. "Good for nothing sun." He responses to the celestial body disturbing his beautiful sleep. It wasn't all bad he soon realizes that he has a rather handsome young man holding on to him sleeping peacefully.

Doran was staying in a room given to him by an officer in Karith. Him being a Knight was allowed to stay there whenever he pleased. He found himself a nice new recruit who was eager to impress a knight and took him to bed. He was very good looking too. "Why do they make them so handsome nowadays." His words woke his one-time companion. Who greets him with a kiss. Doran sighs in relief at his life, he was really enjoying himself. If only the Black Lotus wouldn't try starting trouble in this beautiful land he called home.

There soon was a knock on the door and Doran already knew who it was. "Come in Morg." His friend was shocked that he would let anyone and his face showed it. "Don't worry he's my Squire and he already knows." Soon a young man walks in and notices the scene taking place in front of him and sighs. "Doran get dressed you are being summoned by the king. Also, your friend might want to leave soon its almost time for sparring practice and he's going to be late." With that, his companion bolted off of the bed and threw on his clothes and ran out the door never to be seen from again.

"Way to ruin the fun Morg. He was so cute too." Morgan rolls his eyes "We need to head out as soon as possible the king won't like to wait on us." Doran gets up and puts on some clothes. "Yea yea I know. Let's just get my armor on and get out of here." With the help of Morgan, Doran dawns his armor and rides of to the capital. It is a decent journey but they finally make it and head into the castle.

Miz was sitting patiently for her to get her orders and for the meeting to end. She didn't get any orders and finds this odd. She trusts Master Black but wishes he would find some use for her. She did not enjoy feeling useless and was hoping for something to do. She fidgets in her chair then stands up walking over to Griffin. For the short time, she has been here she seemed to be very interested in the boy. She knew little about him other than he would come to the library often which Miz has started to do now that she joined Master Black. "What is going on in this kids head." She thinks.

She didn't really know what to ask and for a moment just stood there almost happy the person she wanted to talk to was blind because she may have looked stupid just standing there. "Griffin I was wondering, why have you joined the rebellion. I would be afraid if I couldn't see or walk and was working to take down a king. I'm not saying you don't belong here but I was wondering how you got through this. I have my skill in fighting but I'm very curious what makes you tick." She says softly truly interested in why he joined the rebellion.

Griffin White
The Cursed Child of the Black Lotus

The meeting went as planned. Bronn and Phantasma were sent off to do missions that actually helped the cause while Griffin stayed at the library. He didn't have a problem with it, he was actually very satisfied but he could tell not everyone felt the same way. The white haired boy actually found it amusing how Ordius thought people had to look after him. At least he wouldn't be alone. Most people had cleared out but Griffin could hear a separate set of footsteps heading his way. From the smell, it was most likely Leiana. He refused to call her Miz despite what she said. He thought Leiana was such a beautiful name and it oddly reminded him of sunflowers. He did not move an inch as she spoke to him and waited a couple of seconds after she had finished speaking to react.

"Do you assume that because I am crippled and blind I am not able to kill a man or woman just like you?" Griffin started in a hushed tone. His voice remained dull despite the words that were coming out of his mouth. "I am here because Ordius deems me worthy. That is all that matters." Griffin was used to people trying to look into him. He knew he was an odd person. Not only was he blind and unable to walk, he slept for the majority of the day and has not once been used for any type of mission. If he were Leiana he would have been suspicious of his reasons for being here as well. It was fun though, keeping people guessing. It made his life more interesting. Griffin removed the metal ring from his head and blinked in Leiana's direction. "I like your name. Leiana... very pretty. It seems everybody has wonderful names. Leiana, Rose, Phantasma. It's like a bright beautiful bouquet of names" Griffin ended. He blinked again and put the ring back on his head before laying down flat on his back. Minutes later, the girl known as Rose began speaking to him. Ordius had told him that she was the same age of him. He even remembered Bronn taunting him about trying to have a type of relationship with her. He was probably just trying to irritate him. Ordius smiled at her question but did not reply. He instead just started humming to a tune that no one would have known.

Bronn Raymond
Apprentice to Master Black
Bronn was trying his best to not laugh. Those men just got played like a flute and they probably didn't even realize it. When the woman named Nerrezza had fled, Bronn had already had two full mugs of rum. He could take his alcohol though no problem. Bronn got up and chuckled, resting his hands on his hips. He was laughing directly at the man who had just been scammed. His face turned red with and greed and he spat at Bronn.

"The hell are you laughing at moron?! Don't make me come over there and knock your teeth out!" the man said angrily. Saying this only made Bronn laugh even harder. It even got to the point where he threw up over the counter. The bartender growled in annoyance but his eyes widened right before a first hit Bronn square on his nose. It wasn't strong enough to do any meaningful damage but it angered the young swordsman. Bronn quickly drew his sword which scared the men away. One of them even tripped on their way out. Bronn chuckled and put his sword back in its sheathe and headed in the direction the woman disappeared to.

Current outfit; disregard weapons
Her escape route had been planned before she even came over to the guys. She had multiple in mind as well. She learned over the years that it was always good to have a back-up plan and a back-up plan for the back-up plan. She could never be under-prepared, however she always expected her first plan to work. It was simple but she was relying on the simplicity of it to work. Humans as a whole were not that smart, not to her anyway, and they were predictable. Above everything, they were predictable, and she tried to beat that stereotype every time. It had to be quick and efficient, she knew those men could probably bulldozer her if they ever got the chance to catch up with her. Nerrezza was able to make a quick escape by simply climbing to the top of the Inn and laying flat on the roof. She made sure her cloak was covering her entirely and she was glad for her rather small statue to hide her. She was counting on it, as they were tired, drunk, and predictable when the men ran out, they ran forward. A lot of times, humans missed an opportunity simply by not looking up. Nerrezza waits for the sound of their voices to go away before jumping off the roof.

She misjudged her situation slightly and when she lands, she sees that a man had stayed behind. Since she was laying flat on the roof, she couldn't actually see and had to rely on sound alone. Sound and confidence in herself and her plan to follow through. She was technically behind him but she was sure that the sound of her landing on the ground gave her away. She prepares herself for a fight, glad that she had her hidden dagger with her always. Her two short-swords were sheathed on her back currently. After a moment, she didn't recognize the man, but didn't relax. He wasn't one of the men she conned but he could be a witness. Nerrezza notices the sword sheathed at his side. "Thanks for the help," she ventures to say, hoping that he had actually helped her. Or else she just sounded like an idiot in front of him, either way, she says no more. Her voice was soft as with the other men but she doesn't wait for a response and slips inside of the inn.

When Nerrezza walks back into the inn, there was no one else left, and she was a bit surprised. Boy, was it late, or early in some cases. She needed some sleep and was glad that she made an arrangement with the innkeep beforehand. He seemed to be more annoyed than usual and was cleaning something up. Nerrezza walks to the bar and sits on the stool. The innkeeper looks up, with a big scowl on his face. "I should charge you double for this!" He snaps at her but Nerrezza paid him no mind. Every time that she stayed in Milltown, she would stay in his Inn. At this rate, they knew each other rather well, and she even had suspicions he might know who she truly was. "I'm your most loyal customer and you know it," she mutters to him, who said no more. Instead she waits patiently for him to finish cleaning. She would head off to bed soon but first wanted a quick snack before she did so.

Jack was currently in a rat hole of a bar named the Bleeding King. He had just gotten off a job and was busy spending his money on drink. He had just finished his sixteenth mug of the piss poor ale they served. "Another." He called out as he slapped down more money onto the counter. The ball of lard that passed for a bartender grunted and poured him another mug, which he took a gulp of immediately. "What happened to you?" Lardy asked as he wiped the counter with a cloth that was more dirt than cloth. "I've been in this business a long time and the only people who drink like you are the ones that seen something really bad." Jack looked towards him and grunted a quick. "Youd be right then." He the gulped down half the mug and continued to sit in silence. "Well....you gonna tell me?" The fat man asked with a sideways glance. Jack shook his head and took another gulp of his ale. "This stuff tastes horrible." He said as he paid for another. "Yeah, well it's all we got and your still buying." Said the fat man as his fat moved in what could be vaguely seen as a shrug. "That's because I needed to draw you over." After a loud thunk and splat Jack was looking at a fat body with a neck, some gooey substance hanging down and the head of Jacks morningstar replacing what once was a skull. "Huh.....thought you'd make a bigger splat with all that fat." He pulled his weapon free and walked out of the bar, the rest of the drinkers still in shock. As he left a hooded individual passed by him, slipping him a small bag filled with gems. As he walked down the street he looked up at the sky and thought 'Well dame if it isn't a nice day.'

Queen Dhalia Rothstone A day where her husband was in the same country as her, better yet the same castle as her! She felt a lot happier now that he was around – even if he was swept away by advisors and nobles the moment he awoke. Their relationship was an interesting one at that, while he was consulting with others about what actions needed to be taken, Dhalia sought out her children. No doubt Tobi was busy with his own affairs on behalf of his father, as for Estelle her whereabouts were unknown as were those of her youngest, Vincenzo.

After what seemed like ages of socializing with nobles to give them peace of mind, Dhalia would be called aside by a servant. With a soft smile and a small nod, she would excuse herself and seek out the servant. ”My Lady, King Rothstone would like to see you.” the servant would say in a hushed voice in the grand hallway. With a small thank you, Dhalia would make her way towards their shared chambers arriving before her husband.

Some time later the door to their chamber would shut, an exasperated sigh coming from her beloved. Dhalia would turn towards him and smile softly, ”Oh my dear. Be at ease now.” she would extend her hands to caress his tired aged face. ”So my love, what did you wish to speak of?”, without words she knew it had to be about the children or at least one of them. They both had distinct expressions when their thoughts concerned their children – something they could recognize in each other.

Orange smoke billowed in the air, whirling, curling and twirling before finally fading. Heavy hooded in a poncho of dark greens and patterns of gold along lengthy sleeves, Baãl twirled his metallic pipe in one hand while the other tossed up a very small pouch full of silver. With every catch the pouch jingled and every few seconds or so the flat coin sized bowl of his pipe glowed a bright orange as the young man took another long and steady pull of cinnamon spice and coco-beans.

Hearing shouting up several yards south -away from the path he intended on taking, Baãl sensed movement of multiple kinds. Then again, he sensed a lot of movement; bugs crawling the ground, a woman tending to the clothes hanging on the lines up on the second story, a bird taking to the air-- Baãl sensed it all. From his own steady footsteps to the young man stepping outside and stretching just a few feet behind him to his right, he sensed every movement, every shuffle, every step. So he initially planned on ignoring it.

But then he sensed something different; men were approaching and they ran with a frantic beat in their steps.

Three men ran as fast as their legs could carry them. From the direction of the bar, Baãl himself had left behind minutes ago. In their haste one of them nearly got in Baãl's way. In doing so he stuck a foot out and tripped the man as he fled. His friends didn't stop, they kept running. Blinded by fear.

Stranger number one groaned and slowly began the process of picking himself up, hissing a swear as he did. By the time he was on all fours the scent of cinnamon and another order lingered feet above him. Baãl stared down at the drunk. His face appearing darker from the sun that shined above him, his features hidden by the hood and whirls of orange smoke that left his lips.

"So," snakes of orange floated down and unnaturally circled and blinded the drunk. "Tell me why you decided drop in."

In his panic, the drunk spilled it all. The woman, the man with the sword, the tricks and the threats. For two minutes Baãl listened patiently, then after coming to a conclusion that none of this was his concern having heard enough, Baãl left the drunk to his own devices. Moving through the growing busy streets as he made his way towards his desired location; a inn that would grant him rest from his night's work.

Hunting down thieves for a low price wasn't a job he'd normally pick up. But disposing filth was what he'd been hired for. And ridding filth was what he had done.

As he walked, another puff of orange smoke filled the air accompanied with the sound of jingling coins. The smoke whirled and curled, soaring into the sky, lingering long enough for it to obscure the vision of a man looking upward as Baãl gave him a simple pass by.

Allaister strolled down the pristine corridors of the royal palace, the morning sunlight shining through the huge glass windows that made up the wall on the king's right side. He scratched his well-groomed beard as he made his way over to his quarters. He longed to see his wife, as he hadn't had a chance to spend much time with her in quite a while. His duties were taking a toll on their relationship and he felt powerless at stopping it.

Minutes later, he entered his chambers, seeing his beautiful wife sitting on their large bed. With a heavy sigh, Allasiter took a seat next to her. He removed the dark blue and gold cloak he wore and rubbed his temples. ''Good morning, my dear.'' Her soothing voice calmed him, as it usually did. ''I have come to speak to your regarding Estelle. I fear that we are losing her. She will not talk to me, no matter how hard I try.'' Another sigh escaped his lips. ''Have I done something upset her? Perhaps she has come to talk to you recently?'' He took Dhalia's hand into his own. ''Also, I apologize for not being present as much as I should be. You know how it is. I hope you and the boys have been managing during my absences.'' He averted his eyes to the ground, waiting to hear her response.

Jack noticed the man walk by him and he smelled the smoke and heard the sound of coins. 'I have to watch this one,' He thought to himself rubbing a smear of blood and brain off his jaw. "Hey buddy you know someplace I can get a wash up, I seem to have gotten someone disgusting on me." He said with a bit of a smirk. He wondered if this hooded man was a merc like himself or if he was something else. "Also if you know a place that accepts alternative forms of payment thated be great, I'm a little light on actual coin right now." He was down to one silver, three broze, and some lint. He was also watching the way the man moved in case he was hostile, can't be too careful. He looked strange and a little creepy but Jack wasn't put off by that, it was his eyes that he was off put by. They were strange, as if they weren't looking at but through you. He took out his flask and uncaped it to and the smell wafted out an anyone unlucky enough smell it smelt rubbing alcohol and something spicy. Jack took a swig and smiled. "That'll clear the old pipes." He then offered some to the stranger, he may be creepy but everyone deserves a good drink. "Try some, it's my own brew, nice and strong unlike the piss water bars usually serve." He said with disgust.

As the city faded behind him, Johnathan continued walking at his pace, searching for the rendezvous his contact specified for them to meet. It took a couple of minutes, but he finally arrived at the large oak tree marked with his contact's signature, a winged snake with feathers. To Johnathan it was a very peculiar thing to see, a man channel his religious symbol in everything he did, seeing as Johnathan had the idea that he was the only person outside of priests to do so. He didn't have to wait long before he spotted the contact: a large figure wearing colorful clothing with a mask on and a strange pattern of red and white across the chest. To most people this would look like some kind of jester, but to those of the Unseen mercenary group, it would be a clear sign that whoever they're looking at is an ally. The pattern followed a strict code, where loose threads would connect parts of the pattern to perfectly create an insignia that represented the group.

Everything was set up so they wouldn't have to interact beyond a simple trade of items. Johnathan placed a bag full of gold on a nearby stump, as the figure stepped forward and inspected it. Once the Unseen was satisfied he placed a box on the stump and turned to give Johnathan an approving nod before vanishing behind the trees. Johnathan waited until he truly felt alone before stepping forward and picking up the little blue box. He carefully undid the yellow ribbon that sealed the box shut and barely opened it, taking a peek inside to inspect its contents. It contained everything he'd paid for and more: several vials of varying poisons with a wide range of effects, as well as a supply of throwing needles that he'd also ordered. Satisfied with his purchase, Johnathan left a marking on the stump to signify that the Unseen had conducted business there, and took off for Torinthia.

It wasn't often that Johnathan decided to leave the capital ever since his employment to Prince Katobi, but this was a business transaction, so he was sure that the prince would understand his motives for going out into the forest. Even though the Unseen were a foreign mercenary group, they still had dealings within Torinth, which included several locations for transactions of any nature to take place. Once the city was in his view again, Johnathan put the little box under his cloak and hopped on the horse he had borrowed from the local stables. While Johnathan wasn't a thief, he wasn't above taking some things that he would always make sure to return to their rightful place. Taking off for the city, Johnathan kept a close watch on his surroundings to make sure that nobody was trailing him, and only when he was sure that he was alone did he actually enter the city.

He stopped by the stables quickly, finding that most of the people there were just starting their day and hadn't noticed their missing horse. As he tied the horse back to its original spot, Johnathan heard frantic footsteps heading his way.
These footsteps are far too disorganized to represent a trained fighter, but too close to be headed elsewhere. After some quick deliberation, Johnathan simply pulled a small dagger from his belt and held in under his cloak, feeling no threat but still wanting to be prepared just in case. "Ah, I have a letter from you, directly from Prince Katobi, it seemed like an urgent situation." Johnathan sighed, realizing this was simply a messenger sent by the Prince.

Keeping the dagger in his right hand, Johnathan walked forward and took the small piece of paper from the exhausted man. He sliced through the ribbon carefully and pulled off the Rothstone insignia, dumping both and focusing on the piece of paper.
This is a call to arms by demand of king Rothstone, arrive at the royal palace at sunrise as soon as possible for further instructions. The time for action has come. At last, orders had come to begin fighting back against the rebels within the republic. Johnathan had grown bored of sitting at the capital, taking side jobs to quench his thirst for violence. With a smile, he dashed by the messenger and towards the royal palace. It didn't take long for Johnathan to reach the palace, running through rooftops most of the way to get there as quickly as possible.

Once there, he walked through the guards who instantly recognized who he was and opened the gates for him. He walked through the elegantly decorated hallways, making his way through. Not soon after, Johnathan was stopped by two guards who protected the chambers of the royal family.
"Welcome, the king has requested your presence and will be notified immediately of your arrival, if you could just wait here until he arrives." Johnathan sighed at this, he never quite liked dealing with menial formalities such as waiting for royalty but he had gotten used to it at that point. "That's fine, just make sure to inform Prince Katobi as well, he was the one who actually summoned me here." The guards simply nodded as one of them took off to pass along news of Johnathan's arrival, the other standing there so as to ensure that Johnathan wouldn't step any further.

Phantasma
Heat radiated off him like a foolish little flame trying to burn through a storm. She frankly wasn't impressed. Tas could tell when she was being sized up and she didn't mind returning the favor. He was tensed. She could see that he was ready to run or fight, it was odd that humans thought they were above such things. What he wasn't above was obfuscating. He knew exactly what the Black Lotus was, and who he was. "Please," She said to him, flaring her cloak a little, "I represent the black Lotus and It's master, Xor Black. And we both know who you are, Ryuu. The Dragon. Dragon Coin. Whichever you prefer." She didn't really care of course, but she disliked him talking in circles. She was aware she could fly away on a tangent like no other, but she hated a hidden point. She was also growing to dislike this man. Money was such a base motivation. Rocks were rocks, not some "Currency" horded to prevent people from getting what they needed.
"Xor is willing to pay you for what you obviously do already," She said airily, "We will pay for you to hurt people, and unfortunately I cannot share anymore details then that, if you want more, meet the master," She finished, crossing her arms and glaring at him.

Doran Sandford
Capitol
It didn't take him and Morgan very long to reach the Capitol. It was a pretty easy ride with no real threats. They were going to head to the castle when Doran decided he was bored and new the king could wait a few more minutes. "Let's stop and get you some proper armor Morg. If the king needs us for something I need you to look the part. It won't be as much as mine since you need to put it on yourself with easy." Doran starts riding to his favorite blacksmith in the capital, The Dark Steel. He walks in a is greeted by a young boy who Doran knew to be the smith's son. "Tell your father I need to see some of his pre-made armor to see if any fit my squire."

The Smith comes to the front sees that its Doran shooting him a shit eating grin and heads back to the back. "I'm guessing he doesn't want to do business with..." Just then a Small breastplate and two gauntlets are set down next to Morgan. "Put it on and see if it fits." Morgan listens to Doran and puts on the armor. It was a bit awkward but it did fit him fine enough. "Here you go. 50 gold pieces." He hands the gold to the Smith and they walk out and get back on their horses. And ride to the castle.

When there the get off of their horses and start to walk in. They are stopped by two guards in which Morgan hands them the note. They look over it and hand it back to him. The guards proceeded to escort Doran and Morgan into the castle where they are stopped and told to what with the other guy for the king to see you. He looks over to another man waiting to meet the king. "Handsome" he walks over to him. "I'm guessing you got called in to fight the rebellion too."

Miz was taken aback slightly by his response. She wasn't trying to say anything but just curious nature. She does understand how he could take her comment the wrong way though. "That's not what I'm saying. I would think your strengths would be more tactical than killing. But I can sense you have something strong inside you. Your personality shows it. I always believe its the quietest of people who are the ones that will end up on top." She smirks. "That's why I like them so much." She really liked this kid. He was extremely interesting. He makes a comment about her name and she blushes slightly. "I never liked it. It was given to me by... an evil man. I never changed it but I never go by it. You can call me by it if you like though." She notices someone wanting to talk to Griffin and tries not to get in the way.

Estella Rothstone

10qw7tl.jpg

Location: Tavern, Siegmore.
Time: Morning.
Interactions: Townspeople.

Estella, already wide awake, made her morning routine throughout the castle. Checking up on the guards to make sure they didn’t suffer any illness or she would’ve send them home at once, making sure that nothing out of the ordinary happened outside the castle or inside. Nothing seemed to be wrong or out of place. With the feeling of security, she felt like she could leave the castle without feeling the urge to get back immediately. It had been like this for most of the time, despite the rising tension that resided in the domain. She was mainly worried about her youngest brother as he was still in his teens, a dangerous age. She knew it very well as that time was the most difficult for her, beginning her rebellious phase that turned her into the human being she was today. Her choices that she made then influenced her future to the core.

Once she packed the stuff that she needed in order to get around the several parts of the kingdom, she got out of her room. She got around the castle easily as she knew the lay-out without even having to think about it. Though her fingertips still slid over the furniture to make sure that she was going in the right direction. The feeling of wood on her skin as she made her way downstairs. Once she heard the tapping on a new kind of floor, she knew she was on the floor where the exit was. She made her way towards the front door by using her sense of awareness, mainly so she wouldn’t bump into something along the way. Her fingers were then placed on the doorknob, twisting it open and then the gentle breeze caressed her face gently. Her hair swaying because of the sudden movement which made it seem like she would fly away like a bird. At least it felt like that for her.

The clicking of her shoes echoed throughout the courtyard as not many people were present. Following the rocky path to the stall where the carriage was situated. Someone was already there as he heard him calling her name politely. She nodded lightly before she was being helped to get inside of it. With a light thud she sat down and said her directions. Her destination now was Siegmore, the most corrupted part of the kingdom where not many were a fan of the republic which was only normal. She heard that the governors demanded them to pay large taxes, leaving them with almost nothing as a result. She hated them, those who caused this much grieve for others should be punished but her father didn’t do anything. Only watching it happen.

After some time, she arrived at the place where she wanted to be. The ‘driver’ only got her there, she would make her way back by herself like usual by taking a ride with others who were so friendly to take her back. It was a good thing to have a good relationship with the people who lived in the kingdom. Of course there were those who still disliked her, she couldn’t do anything about that as it was their own choice. She wouldn’t force them nor would she be able to make them like her.

She heard the birds whistling in this part of the town, noise that came out of all directions, people laughing with each other and here and there some little discussions. It didn’t break out into a fight just yet. However, her attention was grabbed as she heard familiar voices coming from somewhere near her who were arguing about how to carry the boxes to the tavern where they made some delicious food with the scarce methods they had. She followed their voices and greeted them, making them seemingly more excited as they noticed who she was. ”If it isn’t Estella ! Good timing. We were discussing about how we could move this boxes at once and you’re the perfect fit. We could carry all of it with the four of us.” One of them said, if she recalled it good, his name was Roberto. She chuckled lightly and nodded in agreement. Being immediately guided towards the boxes where she squatted down and touched the stuff to feel how she could carry it the best. Eventually she took a firm grip on two boxes and lifted it up easily. Walking in the middle so they would be able to correct her and warn her for any ‘dangerous’ bumps in the road. It only took a ten minute walk before they arrived at the tavern.

She put the boxes next to the wall, dusting herself off once she was finished and being thanked by the elder men. They weren’t a fan of the republic but they didn’t dislike Estella. After all, a status never gave away their true personality and they found that out after time. They opened up to her and even let their children play with her, letting her colour and then laughing whenever she coloured out of the lines since she couldn’t see. She didn’t mind as it were children that she was talking about. The men offered her to go and drink something which made her doubt about it a little. She could hold her liquor very well but the other three would always make a competition about who could drink the most.

"Hey buddy you know someplace I can get a wash up--" hearing noise, Baãl turned casually, alert but relaxed "--I seem to have gotten someone disgusting on me." At first Baãl saw no one. His eyes scanned ahead before the realization occurred to him that the voice in question came a few inches down. Then he saw him, redhead, long red beard, masked with a smirk that tinted the blood stained jaw that obviously was not his own blood.

The sight was almost amusing, if it meant no trouble from whomever this man had killed did not come to bother him.

"Also if you know a place that accepts alternative forms of payment that'd be great, I'm a little light on actual coin right now..."

And that's when Baãl's eyes slightly narrowed underneath his hood, regardless he continued to toss the pouch of silver coins in the air. Clearly unconcerned with the possibility of being robbed, not that it mattered or he suspected the stranger. Besides if things did end sourly all he needed to do was remove the vial hidden within the confines of his poncho, the concoction inside would take care of the rest.

Refusing the offer of drink with a silent shake of his head Baãl studied the man. The burns on his face were old, that much anyone could tell, some scars along the face looked old, others new. Baãl's eyes turned away from the man and followed the direction in which he'd came. From the street and path he had to guess it was either an alley or a bar. Which one didn't matter, so the hooded young man turned his attention back to the old one in front of him and just stared at him silently for a few seconds, the last thing he took not of was the blood that stained the hilt of his weapon.

"..." Baãl turned away from the stranger then pointed a thin finger in the direction he was currently walking towards, exhaling smoke from his nose before he spoke once more. "There is a inn I am going to, couple of blocks away. Follow if you wish." His eyes never left the man once the entire time he spoke, then turning his head back to the redhead he said: "Do not cause trouble if you are inebriated. I'd prefer not to be kicked out so early in the day." He took another pull then blew a circle of smoke just above the merc's head.

It formed a halo and stayed there. bobbing up and down with any movement the merc made as it slowly dissipated into the air; a floating orange halo above the redheaded merc. It was a sight to see- but Baãl didn't stay to watch. With the information given he continued on his way to the inn, still tossing the pouch of silver in the air and catching it as he went.
