General Information

The First Training Ground is located northeast of DWMA six miles from Death City's perimeter, and takes 25 minutes to get to by vehicular transport. Like the Third, the First Training Ground contains a variety of wild, untamed, and predatory mythic creatures.
Note: The First Grounds are also called Silent Stalks. It was given this name due to the eerie silence and lack of sound that passes through the woods.

One Star Elites and Two Star Amatuers are generally the most known individuals to use this forest as a training ground under authoritative supervision. Few Omegas that take AP sessions have been known to use these forests as well.

Description
The First Training Ground is 2 acres long, going 1320 feet by 33 feet across. The forest itself has only four watering grounds, each slightly smaller than the first. Each, located somewhere in one of the six rings that makes up the large woods.

The forest floor contains mostly a mixture of sand and gravel, with little to no grass. The deeper one goes in the forest the larger the trees seem, the less light that seems to pass through the leaves, the more tough the mythics are and the more live the vegetation seems. Swamps and murky ground can be located in the first, third, and sixth rings. Dry land pervades in the second, fifth and fourth rings.

Security
The First Training Ground is surrounded by two sets of perforated metal panels that rise up to 10 feet and are used to bar off any inquisitive visitors from entering the woods. Both panels are electrically charged to deliver shocks that stun unwanted trespassers of the normal caliber.

Animals
Multiple animals live within Silent Stalks. Aside from the unknown creatures that inhabit this forest the most commonly known are:
  • Tatzlewurm
  • Manticore
  • Feraragator
  • Chimera

They could have taken one or even two of the DWMA-approved HUMVEE's, maybe a small bus, perhaps even a personal car. But, no. This was Apex. He rattled off the names: Ikki, Ash, Xandria and Kuro; and, he expected them to be there. Luckily--for them--they were. Right at the exit, or at least near it, where he told them to meet. From that point on? A six mile run to the First Training Grounds. Six miles in the blistering Nevada heat. This was the type of training--or torture--that Apex had in store. Albeit, his pacing was at least moderate--only due to the fact he decided to carry a comically large cooler of water bottles for their trip.

If anything, the fact he barely broke a sweat during their run while carrying water well over the weight of any two of them combined gave each of them that much less reason to bitch about their outing. Not like bitching at Apex was precisely a wise decision to begin with.

But, they all made it there. The entrance was a large set of iron fence gates locked shut. Apex already had them opened by the time the group gathered together. The water chest was supplanted firmly onto the ground well beofre that.

"Macson has his students playing some stupid-ass game," Apex said, addressing the group of six once the gates swung open, adding an eerie creak to the air. "Games have rules. Only fucking idiots play by the rules. When you're cornered by a real threat, they aren't going to spare you because slitting your throat and collecting your soul is against the rules," Apex explained with no amount of respect given to Macson or his idea.

"That's why I'm taking you to a place without rules. These training grounds have actual beasts. Lord Death had a collection of rare, magical species in his life and put them in unique, magical biomes like this. They can't leave, but inside is a suitable ecosystem. Most species here are endangered, but I shit you not, the only people in danger in there will be you. This biome isn't too bad; most of the critters back down the moment I let loose," Apex continued explaining. There was an odd phenomenon that came with Apex. His personality and speech shifted slightly when he began talking about animals and nature. For a half second, he actually seemed like a teacher.

"Your goal will be simple: survive. Since none of you whined on the way here, I'll be giving you a kit. Leatherbound and has just about everything you need. Multitool, firestarter, water tablets. That type of shit. Symmetry also insisted I bring radios. I settled for ear pieces. Two-way comms on a shared channel.--just in case. I'll be collecting them at the end of the mission; the rest you can keep. I don't need it," Apex told them, giving them their final bit of instructions. He crossed his arms before letting out a final sigh. "I feel like I'm going to regret asking, but... any questions?"

Ash could smell the medicine from the bottle but for now decides not to say anything and then says" There's no point in getting to antsy or hyped, i could be wrong but i think the tests is to see how people work as a group and well well they get on with their partner and i don't think he'll kill us but he'll sure break us to save us or if we piss him off so best be wary around him".
' from what i saw in the room he's going to end up getting pissed with at least half of us because of the way the group carry's on, as for this ground he is the strongest but even the strong can fall so i hope it's just me overthinking things and we can somehow get through this training with to much issue'. Ash looks around at the landscape hoping to get a better feel for it.

Ikki Ibuki

His orange tail, swinged side to side. His eyes wandered off, beyond the fence, the wind blowed ever so lightly that his skin could feel it. The exercise sounded quite extreme, what was the extreme workout for? To prepare us for some upcoming war or something? Very unlikely considering their hasn't been much critical activities going on around here. This idea of a ‘training’ is quite insane, but guessing that's the edgy style this guy was into. Looking at his rather companions, he hopes that none of them will become a slacker and just get killed off like a creator of the book would do to useless characters, or just seems like it's their time to die. Ikki was all about survival, he was practically made for this. Was ready to put his survival act on, that means he has to become the predator and hunt for its prey. That means he can't get distracted, or caught up in hard situations that might cost him some. This to him seems like a test for his feline traits, not having his magic to help him out anymore but he at least have some upper hand. Blending in this type of environment, could be easy or could go both ways. Depending how he is during the time he and his associates are in their.

“This looks promising, hope you guys can catch up and, not end up getting killed in a crossfire in the process of it” he says, reassuring that everyone puts their out most performance while out in a forest like training field. The only thing he's worrying about is dying, not sure if this apex guy was serious about having mysterious beings caged up beyond the training field, but anything is possible. As he knelt down with their left knee, and his legs extended just 3 inches apart. His right arm resting on his right leg, and licking their lips as some sort of sign.

“Also their is no point in putting too much thought into it, it's all about teamwork and trusting your gut remember?” ikki sounded sarcastic in his last words, he can't promise that he'll be there for someone. He doesn't really rely on away one, to protect him or have his back. That's just the way he is.

A yawn escaped a certain bakeneko's lips as he listened to Apex talk. Blah blah forest full of dangerous creatures blah blah supplies blah blah survive. It was all so damn boring. He had hoped there would be at least some excitement on that run here, but it was just a brisk jog that hardly even cause the mage to break a sweat. Now, instead of some mission or game or something interesting, they were, for all intents and purposes, basically going on a camping trip.

I mean, Apex could have at least given them some other task besides just survive... Like, see who could make it to the center first, or see who can last the longest without needing help or SOMETHING to make it competitive...

Three tails swished side to side as the boy let his mind wander, not bothering to listen to anything the others were saying. This was going to be a drag. A long, boring, tedious drag.... Or, it would be for him anyway. He surveyed the others that were with him for a moment. One seemed almost in a panic for a time, the others seemed to be busy trying to calm each other(and likely themselves) down.

"Well, if no one's got questions, I guess we should get started, right, nyaa~?"
Kuro purred as he collected his set of supplies, not that he really had any use for them when he had magic at his disposal. Even still, it was better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Once equipped, he walked towards the open gates with not the slightest hesitation in his stride.

"I wonder which way I should go..." he mused, taping his chin thoughtfully as he looked at the landscape. There weren't any readily available trails to follow or anything of that ilk, at least none that Kuro could see yet.

"That all depends on where you're going" A voice answered. It didn't sound like Kuro, but, as the bakeneko had his back to everyone else, it very well could have just been him altering his voice as a joke.

"Suppose I don't know where I'm going, Nyaa~?" There was a tinge of humor as Kuro spoke normally again. Perhaps this really was all just a game to him.

"Then I suppose it doesn't matter which way you go. Because any way will get you there!"
That strange voice again answered. Perhaps this cat really was absolutely bonkers, what with the way he carried on such a conversation with thin air. He chuckled to himself. "I suppose you are right." He gave a glance back at the others, a playful grin on his lips. "Try not to go and die on me, okay, Nyaa~?" He called back to no one in particular.

With that said, and provided no one made to stop him, Kuro moved to scale the nearest tree. For him, it would be more fun to travel along the branches than it would be to scuttle about on the ground. After all, he had to have at least some fun here...

Apex listened to them all. He groaned. A decade ago, he would have considered snapping their necks. Apex wasn't playful. He wasn't coy. Hell, he wasn't even creative. These four seemed to have distinctively energetic personalities.

Apex mulled around the thought of the four likely getting themselves killed--or others. Then, it donned on him. That's likely why they were given to him. They needed an attitude adjustment. Apex was far from enthused by this rationale.

"I think you all misunderstand what I mean when I said you will 'survive' here. How you survive in the wilderness--I quite frankly give two shits about. If you can't make your way in the woods a while, you might as well fucking drop out now. I was a fugitive from the DWMA for years. Think the agents tailing me got to sit in some hotel?" he asked them. Rhetorical, obviously. Not that one would ask Apex much regardless.

"See, I've beaten every creature in this place into submission. Two Mythical beasts even make this place their home and I've tangled with them--earned their respect. When you're the Alpha, the betas listen. This is what you'll be learning. Because I'll be having the betas attack you over and over as you try to survive. So, when I say survive, this isn't some camping trip, kiddos. I mean, you'll be fighting for your life until the very fucking second I have to save it," Apex explained to them with no amount of serenity. He took their previously 'simple' task a step further with a few more details.

Every moment passed the gate, they could end up fighting for their lives.

"No more questions. Get in there and decide how not to die," he told them as his eyes widened and he released his wavelength. As he did, flocks of birds shot out of the trees and insects comparable to cicadas buzzed throughout the woods before fading off. Then silence. An eerie silence. One that made you realize just how many sounds the wilderness had that normally went unnoticed.

Kuro's three tails swished curiously as Apex went on to describe the true conditions of this bit of training. So they would be actively hunted by everything that lived in this forest? Well now, that certainly made it interesting. There was a playful, almost mischievous gleam in the cat's gaze as he watched the teacher over his shoulder.

"No more questions. Get in there and decide how not to die,"

Kuro shrugged his shoulders. "No need to tell me twice. I'll get going right meow" Kuro purred, crouching low before launching himself up into the branches of the nearest tree. He didn't even cast a glance back, using the branch he landed on to launch himself into the forest to disappear from view among the trees.

"Hmm~... I could swear I've seen people move like this before...~"

Kuro rolled his eyes, a smirk on his lips. "Meow, now, Chesh, we don't talk about that show. Remember?" Kuro teased someone that didn't seem to be there. Keeping to the trees would be one of the safest routes. Less likely to get caught in something unsavory than on the ground. Even still, Kuro's ears twitched on his head, alert for any sound that could signify an attack. Were it just your usual forest creatures, Kuro wouldn't even bother being on alert, what with him basically being one and all. However, it sounded like these creatures were going to be following the Big Bad Wolf's orders. Which meant even a normally harmless bunny could be a cold blooded killer.

"And me without a holy hand grenade...." Kuro snickered to himself at the thought.

"I have coconuts, if you'd like~"

"What I'd like to know is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow."

"African or European swallow?"

"Whichever one you stole that coconut from" Kuro laughed, gliding through the treetops to get a feel for the area. Oh well, even if everything else was boring as hell, with Chesh around things would never get too dreary...

Xandria clap her hands as the flocks of birds shot out of the trees and insects comparable to cicadas buzzed throughout the woods before fading off "that. was. awesome ahahahahhahahah" Cassiopeia place her hand over to her lips and she look at their teacher with a wide grin "dont worry teacher ill make sure every one out of survive at one peace ehhehehehe" she said as she grab Ash arms gently and walk thought the door "LETS GO ASH!" she said happily and look over the wilderness with her aqua eyes that slightly turn to a pool of red and back to blue. she look at ashe as they walk in and gave him a wide smile "are you exited ash?! this is our first mission so please take good care of meeeeeee!" she said with a giggle while she snuggle her head to his shoulder as they pass through the door

Ash gently laughs and playfully slides his hand over Xandria's bum because he has fairly long arms then says" Of course i'll look after you just as you would look after me, in any case we need to find a place to stay dry maybe there's a cave somewhere around here and we can light a fire". " We also need to find some animals we can skin and make into blankets and such so that means hold back so you don't make what ever it's into chop suey". Ash continues to look around the forest to see what's around picking up some herbs he knows aren't poisonous along the way and putting them in his inner pocket. ' this is pretty fun but between us we must make sure we don't get to complacent because that could spell the end for us, i would be lying if i said i didn't enjoy the free window shopping'.

Xandria look up at him with a wide grin and gave him a gentle punch in the cheeks "you know there are touches and limitation Ash" she said with a giggle and she grab his hand from his back and slid it over to his waste "and lucky us! i pack us some food and and lots of lots of water the is good for the both of us in two weeks and as for the animal cover i..." she stop "wait...." she look at him with a frown "were gonna kill furry animals for warmth?!" she said as she gave him a pout and she felt a phang in her chest "cant we just hug for warmth?!" she said as she look at him. one problem ash might not get away from her is that even thoe or ever what happens to her she would still be a animal lover as she always is

Ash pulls Xandria deeper into the forest and then playfully pins her against the tree and kisses her neck and rubbing her sides enjoying getting her all fired up and says" I get you love animals but one it's a test and two we have nowhere to store the food so the animals will end up eating it and third we both know how cold the night and the rain can be so no we don't have time to be feeling sorry for the animal and in a forest most won't feel sorry for us given half a chance to take us down". " So i don't want hear any more nonsense about not killing and remember don't sleep on wet ground if possible because that's bad for the body". " I get i'm being very hard but if we fail this we not only get laughed at but what if we get kicked out of school that is the biggest problem we face".

Xandria followed Ash "hmmm..." she mumble and gasp as he pinned her by the tree as a slight sweet sound escaped her lips as he place her hand to her mouth and she grow hot and red "what was t-that for?!" she said stuttering and she let all her hair cover her red bloody face then look down with a nodd "a-alright i get that we need to kill the animals and i dont want us to end up getting kick out from the school becuz your sister can be more than a monster when she gets mad... but please tell me everything going to be alright?" she said as she look at him and place her hand together "the last think i dont wanna know is one of us going to end up in the hospital or worst " she said with a frown

It wasn't long into the test. An hour, tops. The most Kuro had ran into were abnormally large insects, most of which were disposed of quite easily--without the need of Chesh to even transform. Admittedly, the flaming ants had a significant numerical advantage, but the natural agility of the half-cat youth was enough to keep him out of reach.

His next obstacle was an insurmountable one. Quite literally. The trees thinned, opening into a set of plains. There stood Apex running his hand through the long, brown mane of a massive Velocilion. It resembled a lion, no real reptilian parts to it, but its hind legs were considerably massive and its buttocks was extended with a tail that itself had a mane. It appeared more lithe in the front end with a smaller, yet still feline torso. Notably, the claws on the lion were permanently extended and considerably larger than those of a normal lion. While Kuro likely had no idea about the details of this beast, it was primarily just a larger lion capable of running at higher speeds on its hind legs.

Oh, and it hunted in packs. Big packs.

Not the point.

"You were all a bunch of fucking idiots, cat-kid," Apex said, continuing to calmly pet the beast that was at least two of him--and Apex was hardly a small man.

"You all ran off on your own, no teamwork, no direction, no planning. The only difference between you and the other three is how quickly you dealt with your threats. The kid without his magic couldn't even get passed the first round and the other two broke down the moment they were outnumbered. It was pathetic, really," Apex told him, leaving the Velocilion behind. It laid back down, returning to what appeared to be a nap-like state.

"I sent the others back to the DWMA. They're not ready for the field--period. The kid without his magic needs to relearn his role as a Meister and those other two need some maturing. I would say you do, too, but the thing is, you made it here," Apex explained to him. Less than an hour ago, their group was four. Now, it was just one. Just him. And, it didn't even seem like he was safe.

"In nature, the strong live and the weak die. It's a fact. You're a few years away from surviving something like... a hunt for me. But then, I don't train underclassmen for a reason. I don't think you need remedial classes like those other twats, but you did pull some stupid shit. Running off on your own, taking things too lightly--you even used a fair amount of your magic just fighting off the Pyreants. So, cat-kid, I'm gonna pass you, but only because I don't think sending you back to learn classroom bullshit is what you need. You need to see how teams work and how shitty, selfish actions get people hurt and killed--and you won't get that where they're going," Apex told him, stepping forward with crossed arms.

"So, I'm going to offer you an extra-credit assignment of sorts. We're going to the Third Training ground. By the time we get there, the groups should be broken up and probably in some trouble with Mythics. You'll get to choose who you help and I'll judge your decision. Why, who, when, how. Think of it as a chance to make up for, y'know, not thinking before you ran in here blindly," Apex continued on. Again, Apex was no one to argue with. While this sounded like a 'second chance' of sorts, it was more like receiving instructions from a drill sergeant.

"Oh, and one more thing. We're not telling those Kanker sisters you're showing up. I really wanna see their faces when you fuck up one of their shitty little games," Apex added on. It was the first portion of his personality debuted that was just outright Alpha. It seemed even Apex had some type of prankster side to him, albeit a little more extreme than most.

Leo Radomir Leo Radomir Donatello Donatello Susanoo Susanoo Ikki, Ash and Xandria have officially failed. The characters are to be put in stasis in the RP and this is the effective end of their active plotlines. Any questions may be sent to The Regal Rper The Regal Rper and/or myself, but this decision was agreed upon by both of us.

Sir Les Paul Sir Les Paul ahhahaahaha wow they were only just beginning and they already fail how much more when they would face a monster. was it because they have started making their own decision and separation?
