Anime & Manga Favorite manga ATM?

Bacon is fluffy

Wut'n th'name of davy jonez lockr is uh sall-add?
I'm loving sword art online progressive. Definitely deserves more love than it gets, but it has been more of problem child that almost died in publishing.

Shokugeki no soma, the final battle is coming or rather should be coming. :3

Stuff that's on hold:
Boku no hero is good and all, but I just sort of fell off the horse when mirio was introduced and never got back on. It's been rather boring since all might vs all for one fought

One piece, stopped at zou. Trying to read it again but school gaming and rp get in the way

Berserk, all I know is the demon transformation of Griffith is what I want to achieve or see done right in an rp, but it's just e.e. Another back burner

The devil is a part timer, manga is way past the anime but behind the light novels. Waiting for an otp moment before reading it. But so far the glimpses I've seen have been cute.

Stuff I'm hopeful for:

Danmachi(is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon) is about 10 chapters or a year- year and a half before it surpasses the anime

A certain magical index, getting there.

Deadtube, it's a little messed up for my tastes. But it's kind of good.

The Gamer, started off interesting, but it has become power fantasy the manga.

Agreed on Shokugeki no Soma. It is in my top three at the moment.

Boku no Hero Academia actually has had some really good chapters(Mostly the few that deepened Kirishima's character)

Never got into One Piece or Berserk.

As for some of my other Favorites: Kakegurui is up there. We are in a pretty good Arc that will change the landscape of the setting.

Ballroom e Youkoso is at a pivotal point in the story and is really good. Best girl is holding strong. Just hoping the Protag chooses her at the end.

Koi to Uso is slow. But I enjoy it a lot. Hate that people always fight about best girl in that manga though.

I'm more excited about shokugeki reaching a climactic point in its story than the story itself. It's been between really interesting(the kuga arc) and really bland, the school takeover.

But if there was ever a time for the underdog to get his shot at the top predator in the academy, it's now or never.

Kirishima? I'm pretty sure you're talking about the hardening guy. Can't say it's good or not as I've only skimmed those chapters. I know the footnotes but nothing else. It would have been more impactful if I wasn't patiently waiting for all might' dreaded fate to come to pass.

It's like, all my focus is on that. So I can't really appreciate what's going on with these sub plots.

I caught up to kakeguri. I'm enjoying facial expressions: the manga. But somehow I feel like yumeko wouldn't really care if Mary won. So long as she got a good gamble out of it. Which was kind of annoying to read, since Mary totally threatened the wrong character lol. It was so out of place.

I've never tried ballroom, but that's purely because the art looks meh. And I am cautious around shows that remind me of yuri on ice lol.

Koi to uso? My friend says it's the best thing ever. But I'm just sort of, stretched for time. Most of this stuff I want to eventually read. But by the time that I do, everyone will be praising the next fad e.e

Eh, so far I have enjoyed all the Arcs for Shokugeki, though this is one of the best arcs to date.

Yeah, Kirishima is great, plus a new ship was born out of the chapters focused on his backstory which is great.

I think Mary threatened Yumeko for the sheer fact that mary fears her and knows how much of a threat she can be. Though I also feel like Mary didn't really threaten Yumeko, and more so just declared she was going to be President.

Ballroom is amazing, trust me it is nothing like Yuri on Ice(No Yaoi thank god and like has a much better story and characters) The art is really good, especially during the dancing scenes. It is a really mature manga at times as the Author really likes to fill it with innuendos and sexual tension.

Koi to Uso is really good, like you could read the entire series in probably three hours. Most of the chapters are really short.

To be fair, this is how I usually deal with longer series as a whole. I don't read or watch one piece because big mom's arc isn't done. I put it down for 3 years, waiting for the previous arc to complete. So in general, I just consume too much manga and never really form that same kind of dedication after putting it down. Shokugeki is not exception.

New sheep? Do tell? :3 spoiler it though

Generally when you do that to someone, it's either a declaration of war between rivals(which is usually for fun) or a threat. To the current president it would be a threat. But yumeko is different. Mary should find her a threat just for being the dangerous and skilled addict that she is, but it's like threatening a brick wall. It's not going to affect yumeko unless she somehow is developed to show that she actually cares.

Right now it's just open season for her. She's so rich and immune to the world's consequences , that she really has no stakes going into the election. Because whoever is the pres, will just become her new target. Which makes for an interesting character but hurts the story in my opinion. Nothing really feels high stakes. It's all about spectacle.

Maybe I just don't like ball room's anime art. I had no idea it had a manga. I'll read the first chapter cuz you recommended it, but no promises. Even if I like it, it's just gonna be booked marked for later.

Nah I'm a slow manga reader. I spend time trying to figure out the situation and indulging in it. If I read fast, it'd be me skimming it like with boku no hero. but ill sample that as well, especially if the girls are kawaii.

I'm pretty in love with Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, but mostly because I'm finding that the anime did a fantastic adaptation of it. Its style is cute and I'm basically loving every second of it.

My all-time favorite manga (now) is Pandora Hearts. Like, damn. Nothing has ever made me cry so much. So many plot twists and mind fucks. It was frakking ridiculous and I loved every second of it. Bravo to the author, Jun Mochizuki-sensei. Just bravo.

Fullmetal Alchemist is also on my list of favorites mostly because I love a little conspiracy now and then. It knows how to tug at my heartstrings in just the right way. Plus its humor is always so well timed. XD

V.B. Rose and Kitchen Princess are a couple others, but I'm mostly in them for the cheesy romance. (And I can stand it in those.)

One of my favorites is Mahou Shoujo site. It's about a mysterious website that only appears for girls who face misfortune in their lives (Ex: abuse, bullying, etc.). The site then gives the girls a weapon for them to use to take revenge on who they hate. A big catch is that the more they use it, the lower their lifespan gets.
The story's not all that complex but the characters are the best thing about this series from the adorable, yet slowly growing MC asagiri, the cool kuudere yatsumura, the psychopathic shioi, the cute yet crazy nijimin, nijimins hopeless biggest fan, the vengeful bully, the abusive big brother, the tranny, the cutter, the swordswoman and the sadist. It gets a bunch of mixed reviews from what I've seen though.

With the exception of fma, you two have obscure taste. I like that.

I somehow get this a lot. I'm also really liking Pandora Hearts as well, but I can't find volume 8 anywhere...
Well I could also be a Plebiean mainstream sheep lol. Manga has so much unknown stuff, that it's like I'm 12 again and don't know anything again.

I really didn't like pandora's art though. :/

While I actually really like the art style, it's your opinion and I don't mind.

I also have to agree on the manga thing. I've found so many different that some people haven't heard of.

I would hope so! top lel

Any other obscure recommendations?

Sure, I'll give you some.

1. Tegami Bachi Letter Bee. One of my favorite fantasy mangas of all time, this takes place in amberground, a land of endless darkness. The only source of light comes from an artificial sun. The further away people are from the capital, the darker the world gets and the more likely they are to encounter gaichuu, giant insects with metal exoskeletons. Government agents called Letter Bees travel the world to deliver special letters to people and also fight Gaichuu.
A young boy named Lag has been all alone since his mother was kidnapped. He meets a letter bee named Gauche who tells him that he's being shipped off to the city of Yuusari as a package and Gauche has to deliver him safely. So, they now go on a big journey that soon inspires Lag to become a Letter Bee himself so he travel to see Gauche again and hopefully find his mother.

2. Machi Shoujo. I technically haven't finished this one, but I like it so far. It's basically a supernatural take on the The Little Match Girl story. Story is basicly a collection of different case scenarios of people who were given matches by Little Match Girl called Rin. Most of them were people not happy with their everyday life. They wished to change themselves. But after they got matches, their true selfish desires were born. It was actually something interesting and a bit different from what I usually read. Even though sometimes it was pretty obvious characters would do they same goddamn mistake others did before.

While right now I'm really digging Grand Blue, Kumo Desu Ga, and Uratarou. My current favorite would have to be, High Score Girl. The thing about High Score Girl is that it caught me by surprise so hard, it's art style is a bit outlandish, it seemed to just be a simple romantic comedy at first and I don't typically like Romance, but I thought I'd keep reading for the various video game elements and the comedy, and by the third volume I was hopelessly in love with it. It's strong romantic themes coupled with amazing characters and funny moments. I can't do it justice with words, it's definitely worth the read.

Time to judge your taste in manga.

Recently I've picked up the series The Devil is a Part Timer! , Boku No Hero Academia , and Card Captor Sakura. I also enjoy the manga Me & My Brothers, my top favorite out of all of these but I only have yet to check out the 3rd volume from my local library!

Me & My Brothers centers around Miyashita Sakura, a middle school aged girl, who's parents have died and lived with her grandmother who recently passed away, and she lived alone until she came home one day to find she had 4 older brothers. Now, they're stepbrothers, so they aren't related at all, but they're so close anyway that it doesn't matter!

That sounds like a reverse harem, or is it just a slice of life about a girl with a bunch of anikis?

It is just a slice of life about just a 13 year old girl and her brothers, all aged 17, 19, 20, and 23. It does spew into possible romance, but it's mainly platonic and it only seems to mention past events when talking about that.

e.e errbody loves a good what if romance.

When I'm back on the computer, I'll check it out.
