Other I need help with quiet characters

Some words you just read.
So, with pretty much all characters that I've RPed as, not that I've done a lot, they all talked an average amount, some more than others. Keep in mind that I mostly do canon characters, rather than OCs. Recently, I've taken up the mantle of a "quiet" character, aka General RAAM, of Gears of War. He is described as quiet, and the only times we hear him talk (that I remember and have read) are one-word sentences, ordering his following troops. Usually to kill the player. Queen Myrrah (who she is isn't that important for those that haven't played the series. All that matters is that you know she speaks English.) telepathically spoke and gave orders to RAAM, meaning he understands English pretty well, if not fluent in it, so his quietness in battle could also be him focusing on winning. We never see him out of battle, other then a few cinematic scenes (one, iirc, might be more, haven't played in a few months).
I'm rambling, anyways, I was hoping for some advice on how to correctly RP a character that is more often than not, quiet? Any help is appreciated, but someone who's used a quiet character before/is doing so right now would also be nice.

Well, let me be the first to say you've definitely taken up a difficult task!
And while roleplay does rely on dialogue more often than not, I would suggest perhaps world-building, inner monologues and thoughts, and maybe even showing responses through body language and actions as opposed to words. E.g.:
"His eyes widened at the mention of battle. He stood straighter, head held high as he proudly remembered the time when he had taken out one of the enemy's best defenses..." etc.

I believe you get the idea. I would recommend doubling, or maybe even creating NPC's. I'm not really sure what else to say! It's very difficult roleplaying as a silent character, but I hope I could help a little.

He's not quiet. He literally seems more like a mute. lol I don't know why you'd want to play something like this, but showing body language, gestures, and actions are all you can really do. Dirty looks, labored breathing, and breaking out into cold sweat. Rather than writing dialogue, you're gonna have to work on expressing your character's thoughts through his facial expressions and actions.

Which putting aside the boring flat support character, is interesting in itself.

miloredboy miloredboy pretty much already took the words out of my mouth with his post, you'll want to make a habit out of using body language and inner monologue and communicating your character's inner thoughts.

Now obviously, with less talk comes a lessened ability to interact, so I recommend you have the character have a very clear motivation to focus on. Most of the time you will want to be doing something that makes others want to to interact with YOU rather than the other way around, so making your character really focused on a particular goal, an distant end game with several steps, is one way to create mystery and curiosity, as well as give you material to do things even if you have no one to interact with.

I see, thank you each for the help. I'll be sure to emphasize the movements a bit more to show off emotions, and using motions to express thoughts. Occasionally, I suppose I can have him talk, but I think his character best fits a quieter role.

Others have already given you pretty solid answers that I am uncertain whether or not you need any more of those, especially since I haven't played RAAM and am not familiar with the character you are talking about. However, I do hope I could at the very least contribute something with my own experience.

First and foremost you should ask yourself this: how quiet do you want your character being? While it is very appreciated you do look at the canon and take into account what does it say about his speech patterns, it does not necessarily mean you're obliged to roleplay it as so. Try to both take what you want from the canon, understand what brings him being so quiet - or why (as it does sound almost as if the character is more mute than simply quiet, as it had been mentioned) - and to what level of quietude are you comfortable portraying him.
Once that's done, move on fleshing him out. If he's just quiet, find the right balance between facial expressions, actions and meaningful words to be considered and said when the time is right. If he is mute, however - do consider him using other means of communication. It could be signing, could be correspondence. Could be through etching wood even, sketching out some of the things which are going through his head and trying to deliver them forth this way - all, while keeping a great empathise on the physical aspect of the character, as it becomes his main if not only form of self-expression.

I hope my message makes sense, my English started feeling a bit off near the end. Anyway. I hope that helped.

As someone who prefers to RP as quiet characters. A lot of what you have to do is communicate through action as well as iterate what the character is thinking quite a bit in personal dialogue, as you should try to avoid talking as much as you'd like to. But yeah sort of reiterating what other people have already said here but thats my advice to you.
