Fantasy Mainland Adventures

"A royal.....knight....that's what I wanted to be when I First came here! That's.... really cool. I guess it makes sense that we would both be interested in a job like that. Protecting people and all." Eli said, smiling a bit.
"Harrison was this woman named Harriett who disguised herself as a man and she was the Captain of the Second Vanguard." He explained to Kyle so he wasn't as confused. "It still.sucks that I can't talk to her Like I did to Lon."

"Her name was Allison, Eli. And it's a miracle that we've even spoken to Alial, his status as a demigod is the only thing keeping him as the oldest person on the planet."

"Wait... you guys met The Forge?"

Eli coughed a bit again, trying to regain his composure. "Y-yeah, didn't you hear me say that? Uncle Alan I think you should really think about getting your ears checked I said Allison." Eli said, a bit hurried and flustered. "Yeah, Lon and me talk sometimes because he needs to check in and teach me about magic stuff I guess. I think i should even check in with him again to see what I can do about some training he mentioned earlier."

"You might meet him if you stick around."

"Sweet, The Forge is the best."

As the three traversed the morning forest they were met with an odd sight: a small person -roughly the size of a toddler- with pointed ears and a small wispy tail was sitting in a small clearing beside a pond, sitting still, watching some unknown subject in the trees."

As Eli had come up with the question as to why Lon was called 'The Forge' in the first place, he saw the small person. His eyes went a little wide as he eyeballed the creature with a sense of confusion and slight wonder. "What is that Uncle Alan?" he asked, his eyes squinting as he tried to get a better look of the creature that sat in front of the pond.

"Shh! It's an imp!" he whispered and got down low. "They are forest folk, and incredibly rare. They can see things that us as mortals cannot. I wonder what he's looking at."

The trees the Imp was staring at begin to rustle, and it's eyes follow the movement.

Eli got down on the ground as he watched the trees that the Imp was watching intently. Eli was totally silent as he wondered what besides the wind was making the trees rustle so much. "It's so small and cute."

Kyle would be the next to speak. "Sure, but It's also afraid of the monster in the trees, he's frozen in his place."

The trees would rustle, and a blur would move between them. The Imp was still.

"Can we do anything? Maybe we can stop the monster before it hurts the Imp." Eli whsipered under his breath. His eyes didn't tear themselves from the image of the Imp looking at the blurred monster motionless. His hand went to the sword at his hip. He corssed his brow. "What do you think Uncle Alan?"

"We can't fight an invisible monster... speaking of, how do you see it?"
"You don't?"
"No!"
"Oh... you guys stay here."

The Boy would then walk straight into the clearing, and simply... pick up the up from it's armpits. The trees rustled one final time before an invisible force threw the two into the woods by Eli and Alan.

"Ow."

"Kyle what the hell?" Eli exclaimed, standing up and rushing out to the clearing as he saw Kyle and the small Imp get tossed aside. He looked up, again squinting at the invisible creature that walked forwards. From what Eli tell it had to be massive. He ran over to Kyle and the Imp. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm cool." he spoke, expressionless on the ground.

The Imp spoke something in some language that Eli could not understand.

"Hey, Chill, these guys are supposed to be badasses or whatever, they can handle it." Kyle was apparently the Vanguards unofficial hypeman.

"You speak Imp now? How magical are you?" Eli asked, turning around as he tried to keep himself occupied with the large creature that was extremely dangerous yte impossible for him to see. He unsheathed his sword, looking around as he tried to find something useful in the area. "Kyle, where is it? You can see it right?"

"Dude I can't see it! There is no sword stuff to be gotten if I can't see what I'm slashing at......eugh, fine!" he said, a sense of determination in his voice as he ran to the side, holding his sword at the ready. He ran over and picked up a small rock that he clutched in the palm of his hand. He threw the rock forward, seeing where it would bounce off.

The rock thudded against the ground.

"You're gonna have to be faster than tha-!"

A burst of flame engulfed the clearing, a burning the beast and showing an outline of it's antlered appearance.

"Eli!" Alan spoke, hands enshrouded with fire. "Strike it!"

Eli clutched the sword in his hands and rushed forward. He charged towards the fiery outline of the monster, his sword aiming directly at the beasts chest as he went for a stab straight to it's vital organs.

The beast screeched as the blade made impact, and shortly after fell to the ground, no longer able to keep it's shroud: revealing twisted rotting flesh bound to visible bone, antlers protruding from it's skull.

"Ghouls." Alan said as he banished the flame from the clearing. "Undead beasts mindless beasts."

Kyle gave a thumbs up to the Aerials from the ground.

Eli looked on in disgust and concern as the beast was cast away from the grounds of the clearing. He reciprocated Kyle's thumbs up and walked over to them.

"You guys ok then? No fatal wounds?"

"I'm good." Kyle's rags had claw marks in them, but he was woundless. "Our friend here is alright too."

The Imp stood and bowed to the Aerials, thanking them, and speaking something neither understood.

"Care to translate at all Kyle?" Eli said, sheathing his sword after looking at the disgusting rotted flesh and sighing. "I still don't understand how you can understand what they're saying."

"How are you multi-lingual? And that still doesn't explain how you could see that ghoul earlier when neither of us could?" He asked, he looked down to the Imp and smiled. "No problem little dude."
