Found out a month ago I had some sort of heart disease that doesn't do anything to me.
Whatever.
Went in today to get an opinion from a specialist in the area of the heart that is impacted.
Said there is a 98% chance of it doing literally nothing to me and a 2% chance of sudden instant death.
What makes it funny is that I don't even care. It gets me out of having to do strenuous activities until the surgery.
So, you know.
Whatever.
Just in case someone did care.
 
Eh. I wouldn't worry about it. I have a bone difference so that my arms are not connected to the rest of my skeleton in any way, shape, or form. I nearly lost an arm when I was 4 because of this and experience dislocations (especially shoulder dislocations) very often. Someone wanted to change that surgically because supposedly that would make my arms harder to take off. I decided not to - I don't like surgical risks, I don't like being the subject of any kind of study, and I know that unless someone intentionally jerks my arm, I'll be okay.
Don't stress over something that has a 98% chance of never even happening. You're probably young and have decades to go before you get any real health issues.

It's just funny that I have a 98% chance of literally nothing and a 2% chance of a 180º instant death.
 
I feel for you, man. The only thing I can recommend is to appreciate your life and live it to the fullest. Nobody knows for sure how much time we have, so the only thing we can do is make the best of the time that is given to us.

I can have surgery and completely fix the thing in one operation.
 
For some reason the 1 in 2000 death toll there scares me more than the 1 in 50 death toll here.
but ye ima do it.
 
Yeah, I remain scared of doctors, dentists, and anything related to this day as well. It's your body, your choice, dude. Just make the choice that you are happiest living with.

The one where I don't have to wake up and say that there's a 2% chance I could instantly die at any point.
Frickin heck man.
Especially considering that exercise literally makes it more likely I'll die than when I won't. I think.

It's funny how the mind works. Recently for two days I had a nearly paralyzing fear that my city was going to be nuclearly bombed, and extremely unlikely thing to happen, yet I wouldn't mind skydiving if I had the chance.

But apart from that I wish your drugged luck and your doctor's luck the best in your surgery, and I hope all goes well!

I laughed internally at that much more than I should have.

I'd have actually laughed but my family is sleeping
